I called back on March or April 2023 from Puerto Rico from another #. To cancel my membership I was disgusted and angry because going to Puerto Rico and coming Back Advantage could not do anything for me , did not find no where flights going to Puerto Rico or coming back to Florida, Had to pay for my luggage, Mind you I did the sacrifice of paying thinking...
Read full review of Veterans Advantageunauthorized charge with auto-renew off!!
Shut off the "auto-renew" on my account MONTHS AGO as it's been no benefit to me whatsoever and low and behold they charged me 63 dollars last night AND THE AUTO RENEW BUTTON WAS STILL OFF. Friggin scam.
I want my money back AND that account DELETED. I can't even remove my credit card info I just tried IT'S A FRAUD.

To veterans nonetheless THANKS for nothing.
What I will tell you is they DID FIX this issue fairly quickly VIA live chat. Sent an email and thought I would take a chance with the chat, and it worked.
My issue has been resolved.
Trial membership
I signed up for the trial membership aug 2. I tried calling the number to cancel sat repeatedly and no answer. And of course today mon there's the recording that they are closed for labor day. I read the complaints here and there apparently was a link in the faq email sent with membership to cancel online. Surprise - - they have removed it. You can only cancel by phone and their contact help email bounces you back with a "this mailbox is not monitored for replies"! What kind of customer service is that? 20 - 20 hindsight it's a scam.
They insinuate on the site you'll always have help available when you need it - - nothing about holiday closures which is when many of us travel. Do not sign up with this ripoff outfit!

Why not just put on a hoodies and stick me up!
They just took $10.90 off of my debit card unauthorized. And as I'm scrolling through the website I noticed that they also have a box checked off saying on May 4th 2017 they are authorized to take money out of my account I hurried up and took that checked box off!Nobody ever said that they could automatically remove funds! THE NERVE OF THEM!
Not only did i get a 4. 95 charge on my bank account. But, then after my credit card had expired they charged it again for 59. 95 without having authorization. I was sent email reminders to renew and chose not to do so, then two months later. . . Bam. By them doing this they also managed to overdraft my account giving me a 33. 00 fee. . . They told me that this wasn't their problem. . . Beware and stay clear of this non - veteran friendly business.
This thing is a total scam.
This thing is a scam. I tried using in several different places and no one even knows what it is including Verizon. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. When I call to get a refund within the 30 days the guy says that seems to be a problem and they are currently working on the issue. So he offers me a wal-mart card of 50 dollars to stay in. I have yet received the 50 dollar wal-mart card.
Unauthorized charge!
Veterans Advantage charged my credit card $4.95 for shipping charges of a packet I never requested or received. I did not find out about this charge until I noticed it in my credit card statement. I am appalled at the unethical practices of this "Military Veteran friendly" organization. When I called and proceeded to cancel my membership, they tried bribing me to continue my membership. In return for my continued membership they were going to contribute an unspecified amount to a military charity organization. I recommend that anyone who is debating to become a member really think twice. There are numerous complaints also filed with the BBB. Unfortunately, they all have been resolved and they continue to use the same practices.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Do not bother my first and last time using them I was told I would have free 3 bags on the airlines British and American..When I got to airport I was charged 60 per bag. I specifically asked numerous times when I booked the flights through their representative was she sure. Not sure! So it cost me the same as if I would of booked it through the airlines sites as I normally do. Thats why i normally never use any veterans discounts I rather pay for it all..
I want all my fellow veterans to know and to become aware of the air travel discount on united is not a discount at all ! After 15 times trying to book a flight using the veterans advantage card with no success I ended up booking through a discount company. After talking with lot airlines I was assured I would get my points for all the miles I went traveling from Denver to Doneskt Ukraine and back well surprise no points were awarded I was told that I should have just went to the airport and purchased my ticket from an agent instead and that points for air travel are not awarded after seven business days of the trip. So my fellow vets use this discount program service at your own risk ! As veterans advantage organization will give you the same run around as the airlines does. !Duane Garcia(Member number gr1603857) my membership with this organization is not worth what all they promote so becarefull. In other words this organization seems to promote discounts that don't exist or have so many restrictions you don't get the discount.
My charge Card was debited without my authorization and has caused me bank fees.
89.00 this month and 9.90 in Jan.2016
Help vets, don't hurt them. Looking at other post, there's some truth in the numerous complaints.
Tried to use the card for Verizon discounts but after three trips to the local store and multiple promises to apply the discounts to my account I was ultimately told my "account did not qualify". Also tried to use the card at CVS and they have never heard of VA and would not process any discounts. I contacted VA and asked for a refund and they said they would send me a "refund form". I just received the form yesterday and they were asking me to hand write everything they already had in their files such as name, address, city, state, zip and membership number and return the form and all cards to them. In their cover letter, they casually mentioned "please note, that the past fees are typically non-refundable". Their purpose is clear and that is to scam vets and to take their money and not provide the services they pretend to offer. If they are sincere in their mission, they would refund the money without all the red tape and delay and not hide behind their so called purpose when it obviously all about the money. Requested the refund couple of weeks ago and just received the form. Letter was dated December 31st, 2015 and received letter on January 19th, 2016. I have no confidence in this organization and their creditably will be proven in whether or not they issue a full and prompt refund. Anything less will clearly demonstrate their true intent.
I have been trying to cancel my membership and Getty my money back from UNAUTHORIZED charges for a next year's membership for over a year. It is impossible to reach a person over the phone and even though my emails were received and read, Veterans Advantage refuses to answer them. They are a total ripoff and I was never able to access the one discount I wanted, that they advertised and had direct link to. Karen Campbell
Many business simply graciously offer a discount to veterans. This I am appreciative of. The business of charging veterans to get a discount for veterans makes no sense, and it's a shame the businesses are doing this instead of just checking id's.
I was solicited by Veterans Advantage in December 2012, advising me of their special offer. If I signed up as a member, I would receive a free companion airline ticket. It is now March 2013, and I still have not received it. After calling a couple times, they advised me that I should receive within a few weeks.
If I do not hear if resolution soon, will be cancelling my membership.
I do not know if anyone else has experience with veterans advantage (Http: / / www. Veteransadvantage.com / ) , but, i noticed a charge on my credit card for $59. 95 that i did not authorize. I called the customer service number which was answered by a "dan", a mono - talker. I explained to dan that i did not authorize the charge whereupon he explained the history of the charge. . . Apparently i may have signed up for something a year ago. After hearing his explanation i explained that i was not concerned with the history, did not want their service, and simply wanted the charge refunded to my account. This is when dan took a turn for the [censored]. Dan the [censored] stated that he would mail me a packet of information to complete. After returning the packet the charge would be processed for a refund. I explained to dan the [censored] that this was not acceptable and that i simply wanted a refund. Double - d then got forceful, yet still in a monotone voice, that he would not give me my refund. I then asked to talk to the [censored]'s supervisor to which he replied in a louder monotone voice, "no you may not". I then asked him to tell me his name again and to speak to his supervisor. Again, he said, "no you may not". I asked his last name and he told me it was "none of my business". I then asked, "are you telling me that you are not going to give me a refund and you are not going to let me speak to a supervisor"? He then monotonely said, "you will hold". I waited a few minutes and the call was answered by a crystal who said she was a supervisor. I explained the situation to her and dan's outright [censored]baggedness and she agreed to process the refund (Within 24 hours) . After i got off the phone i was still unnerved by dan. . . Cannot believe i let that [censored]bag get to me like that. . . So, i called their offices in connecticut. After hitting the extension for the ceo, the phone was answered by a receptionist who apparently know who i was by caller - id. She confirmed that a refund was being processed before i could get two words out of my mouth. I explained to this person that i wanted to speak with someone in executive management regarding the handling of my call by dan. She explained that the call was recorded and that they would review the call. Learning that the call was recorded without my consent (Pa and ct are two - party consent states) and there was no disclosure i found myself a little angrier and have now demanded a call back from mr. Scott higgins, their ceo. It should be noted that i do not care that that call was recorded, i am actually happy it was, i am just bothered with their lack of disclosure.
Details to follow.
Cannot get a refund on my account. The wounded warrior project signed me up for this program. I recieved my card in the mail then went on their website and accidently ordered a new membership. I called and explained what I did and was told I would be refunded 59.95.
Well its been a month and after numerous calls still no refund. My packet was "lost in the mail". I was told this morning I would get my refund in 7- 10 business days. The BBB has over 70 complaints on this company. Watch out, They are a ripoff. I rate this company with Silverleaf resorts.
I was enrolled with veterans advantage and they automatically charged my credit card for $4. 95 even though they said that it was free enrollment for 30days and they would not charge my credit card and there is money back guaranteed in which it was crock of s***. After that 30 days was up even though i cancelled my membership with them within less than 48 hours from the start. They charged my credit card again for $199. 95 for without my authorization or they never gave me an explanation for that charge. I been emailing them and i haven't heard from them so i will have to cancel my credit card and notify my bank for their con artist technique. They are bunch of ### and it's very hurtful for these a**holes to scam money for men and women that have served in the military, protecting and serving this country and put up with this kind of bull s***.
