ID Sentinel Alert Carol Wright Gifts [ID Sentinel Alert] Unauthorized Credit Card Charges

Back in Feb 2021 I ordered online from Carol Wright gifts.com a gown fro my wife. Since March - August they have charged my card unauthorized in the following manner:-
March - $6.99
April - $19.99
May - $19.99
June - $19.99
July - $19.99
I remember a rep calling me after the purchase and trying hard to sell identity protection products. I declined respectfully, to which he said we would send me a Free Catalouge for future orders - and I agreed. When I realized they have been charging my card illegally - I called up and cancelled "Services" from the automated system. Later when I called them today they said the rep said she can produce my verbal consent. When I pressed hard she said they will refund me the whole amount. Will updated once I receive the full amount back to my account

Desired outcome: Full refund back to my account

ID Sentinel Alert Unauthorized Credit card charges

I ordered online from Carol Wright gifts.com Ive been charged 3 months now. first month $6.95 and the last 2 months $19.99. Im a busy person so i didnt notice the first 2 charges but i just happen to look at my account because my numbers were off. Yep charged $19.99 again today. I called the number on my bank statement and its [protected] ID Sentinel Alert. Of course they were closed but after i did some checking I found another number for these people [protected] of course she cant help me but she had my name and address and said i was a member and I enjoy all these benefits. Never heard of them. But I do remember a very curious call from a carol Wright rep not long after I made my online order with Carol Wright.com asking me if i enjoyed my new house dress and that her she buys them for her mother alot and then told me about some elderly alert program and i remember telling her jokingly that im only 46 I just like old lady house dresses. Then we hung up. They already had my card number in hand. All I can do for tonight is cancel by phone option.

Desired outcome: I want my money refunded back to me and this company to stop stealing money from consumers

ID Sentinel Alert Unauthorized charge to my credit card

On December 1, 2015, had called Care Credit/Syncrony Bank re. My bill with them. After checked in, an agent came on telling me about 2programs to sign up for $1.95 each. (Was not name given on bank statement. Names were: USA Benefits & Preferred Readers Service). Said would get a $100 rebate certificate for Walmart, & had 15 day trial period to cancel programs. Gave my credit card info. for the 2 $1.95 charges. Given 2#s to cancel programs. Never received anything from them. On Dec. 23rd, checked my bank account (with # they have). Didn't ad up right. Called bank on Dec. 24th, spoke with a rep. Was told had a charge of $39.95 on my account. Asked who charged it. Was told ID Sentinel Alert. Another name on account was Paysee Associates, Inc. (But only for the $1.95 charge on Dec. 1st). Told her I hadn't authorized that charge. My credit/debit card was closed. Am waiting for new one. My bank has also sent me forms to fill out, get notarized, so bank will get the money back. Have 4 different phone #s for these "companies". So upset that I fell for this scam. The charge of $39.95 is not on statement just received, just the 2 $1.95 charges. But bank rep. Gave me the name.

ID Sentinel Alert unauthorized charges to credit card

i checked my credit card account tuesday like i always do several times a month and noticed 3 unauthorized charges to my card . 2 of them were for $16.22 for a listing of id sentinel 2 and 1 for $24.95 with a listing of magizine. the 1st 2 had no phone number listing but my credit card company gave me 1. i have called both phones and it has same recording and same person finally answered at both phones and told me that my card would be credited back for all 3 charges . as of today only 1 has and no one is answering the phone today at all. i ve left at least 8 messages each at both of the numbers and havent gotten any response. now today after the charges went thru my card the description of charges have changed. the one that 1st said magizine is now listing as a roadside protection. i dont have a car and dont drive. i just received a phone reply from a rep and when i asked how they got my info they said via phone solicating. and when i asked them what phone they said home phone. well its been disconnected for 2 months and they dont have my number of my cell phone. they said i ve dealt w them b-4 and thats how i got called. i asked to explain why would i do it again if demanded a refund for this junk the 1st time a few years back. thats when i was hung up on. this company needs shut down!

ID Sentinel Alert Unauthorized Charges

Received bank statement. There were charges from ID Sentinel Alert and also for Buyers Club. The 800 numbers on both charges ring to the same answering machine. Of course, it says if u have reached this number during business hours, leave a message as all reps are busy. Then it says "Sorry, this mailbox is full". I finally reached a human after 2 days of calling. She stated that I had given permission to receive a trial period of --GET THIS-- AN IDENTITY THEFT program! And a subscription to magazines. This is not true! I never authorized this!

Same thing happend to us, got hit from both ID Sentinel Alert and United Benefit Advantage. No luck getting through on their number, but kept trying and finally hit zero during the message and got routed to a representative. Explained situation, they implied having a recording that authorized it... I asked to hear the recording... oops it wasn't available. I then requested to speak to a manager. She tried the same tactic of the recording, I asked to hear it... she need a few minutes to retrieve it. I gave her my number and told her I expected a call back in a few minutes, which did occur. When she called back, apparently the recording did not accurately approve the billing. Shocking! I never got to hear the recording, but they are crediting the funds back and will mail a check for the overdraft fees incurred (had to fax proof into them, so I did). Thank you to all the bloggers on this site and others that pointed me in the correct direction to getting resolution. If this happens to you, be firm and insistant. Ask to hear the authorization recording.

ID Sentinel Alert Fraudulent Unauthorized Charges

This company has gained access to my bank card or checking account apparently through a product that I purchased online. They then proceeded to access my checking account for services that I never ordered or authorized.

When I contacted them, the lady that I spoke with said that they handle business for both companies : ID Sentinel Alert & United Benefit Advantage. Also, that they had a taped conversation with me agreeing to their services. This of course was not true.

This is unacceptable. As a result, I contacted the fraud department and filed a complaint with both my bank as well as the Better Business Bureau.

I think it is always good to let people know the outcome. I telephoned them this morning and cancelled. I made it very clear I didnt care what kind of tape they had. I know for a fact I would never have agreed to this and I also stay away from any company with the word "Advantage" in the name. Did something like this two years ago and it wasnt what I wanted and cancelled. Now I know if the word appears I am not interested. Then the girl said ok fine we will cancell. She wanted me to hear the tape but then she couldnt find it. They got some of my money but I still have a dispute in and maybe my bank will get it back for me. Otherwise I chalk it up to learning curve and it could have been worse.

Yes, I also had this company somehow get my info and sent me stuff in the mail. I know for a fact I did not order this. It is not something even through a scam would I even consider. They already charged my account 5 and change. I have telephone my bank and they closed my account. They are sending me the paper work and fixed it so these people can not attach to anymore of my money. I am waiting for the hour they open to telphone them and let them know like the Gervais said, they do not have me on tape agreeing to anything! But just think of all the money they make even though it is 5 and change how many others have they done this to?

I agree 100% with Gervais. My husband went to our bank today to work out some issues we received from them, and lo and behold, there they were on our statement too! The excact same company(s). My husband also called them to see who they were and what they were about. Anyway, by the end of the conversation, the lady advised my husband that the money would indeed be put back in our account.
Thank you for posting your comment Gervais. If not for it, I'd of been falsely accused of improper bookkeeping, or even worse.

ID Sentinel Alert Unauthorized enrollment

I did not visit their website. I did not seek their product. I did not authorize an enrollment of any kind to their "program". I don't know how they got my name, mail address, and credit card information in the first place. If they're suppose to be a company protecting people then why are they phishing people and entering them into a program without consent?!

I did not join ID Sentinel Alert but today I received a letter thanking me for joining back in 2016 which I did not do. As far as I can figure they must have gotten my name, address, and credit card number from an of a product from AmeriMark online. The girl I talked with was very hard to understand. She kept wanting to claim that I had joined and ordered something from them which I did not do. I told her to please cancel this account which I did not authorize. She said that my credit card would be refunded $200 and some.

I ordered an inexpensive product from AmeriMark online. That week, I receive a call from a fast-talking representative that I could hardly understand. She stressed that I would be getting some coupons with the product when it came then said something about being enrolled in something that I could cancel once the information came in the mail. I asked, "so I'm automatically enrolled and will be billed unless I cancel?" She hesitated, then said yes, then hung up. I received the product with a coupon certificate--not an actual coupon but no information on being enrolled in anything. Finally today, I received the ID Sentinel Alert information -2 days before I could cancel it. I called the number and had it cancelled (I hope.) There was also an website cancellation option but all I found when I typed in the address was your complaint site saying this is a scam. I can also mail in a Notice of Cancellation certificate, but it would not get to them before the 30 day trial is up. jamullis875@email.wilkescc.edu.

The number for ID Sentenial is [protected]. If you actually get ahold of someone DO NOT give them any information besides your name then have THEM read off your card number to make sure they got the right person. Do not give a routing or checking account number. Do not give a social security number. They will ask for this stuff for "verification" Dont give it to them. If they don't cooporate, let them know you will take this over their heads, then get ahold of your bank immediatly. This happened to me and they didnt do anything but ask for more personal info when I called. When I switched my card number, they got ahold of a COLLECTION AGENCY, so make sure you handle this in a better way than simply switching your card number

My brother, who NEVER uses the internet to shop or pay bills, recieved a charge of $99.96 eletronically dtawn from his cash-card bank account via ID Sentinel!
The banks resolution is to take his complaint, have him cancel/deactivate his current card, apply for a new one and wait 7-10 days for the new card. The cash-card is where his employer deposits his payroll! Imagine what problems that will cause come payday. Most companies require a full 30 days to change the way they pay you...they don't even have the means to write a company check to you to cover your payroll while they take 30 days to change your automatic deposit information. I don't know who is more stupid the bank or the employer? A thief can push a bitton and rip you off, but an bank nor an employer can push a button and open a new account or change an automatic deposit account number/location?
ID Sentinel needs to be targeted by the US government..and those involved with this scam need to be arrested, exposed publically and internationally. That ought to keep the US Government busy enough to stay out of the health care business!... ID Sentenial is a SCAM!

I received a letter in the mail from ID Sentinel Alert before any charges were made to my card. On the front of the Envelope they say they are affiliated with Amerimark, and other catalog company's who I had made purchases from. I mistook it for junk mail and didn't pay any attention to it.

After calling Amerimark after charges were made to my card without my permission I asked if they were affiliated with ID Sentinel Alert. They will quickly tell you they are not affiliated in any way with ID Sentinel Alert. When you call ID Sentinel Alert at their current phone number of 1+[protected] and ask if they are affiliated with Amerimark they retaliate with, " We are a Catalog Tech support company. Yes. "

These people made a total of two charges to my card which were unauthorized. One of $24.95 and one of $6.95. I had my card canceled and I am sending a hand written dispute to my credit card provider to get the money back.

These scammers are getting smart with how they steal information and I highly suggest canceling your credit card if you have been attacked once by these scammers. DO NOT FILL OUT THE CANCEL FORM IF YOU GET THIS LETTER. CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

You work for the company and it's not a scam!?!? Sorry I can't understand people that don't speak American English, and would've NEVER agreed to my credit card being charged $70 per month for absolutely NOTHING. I never so much as received an email telling me what services/goods would be provided for these charges. $70/ month for nothing is most certainly a scam! The scariest part is that I did not give them my credit card information! Luckily, with the help of my credit card company I received a full refund for the charges.

I had a completely different experience with ID Sentinel Alert. Rather than a telemarketing call placed by them, I placed an order from a Dr. Leonard's catalog - bunch of cheap, Made in China stuff - not for myself, but on someone else's behalf. We received the items and now, three weeks later a credit card statement with an unknown charge if $6.99. I recall when I placed the order I did call in and after I listed the items I wanted to order, the operator must have thrown another 12 offers ranging from timeshares to rare coins (not really...it was just a bunch of stuff I kept saying, "No." or "No, thank you, " to). Nonetheless, this charge was a complete mystery, so I research to find the above, long list of complaints, I called the number on the CC bill: [protected], spoke with Melissa who told me she was cancelling the service and refunding the $6.99 charge. BTW - as soon as Melissa answered, I simply told her that I have a charge on my bill for a service that I was fraudulently signed up for and that I wanted a refund. How can you cancel something you never signed up for? Obviously, I'll be scrutinizing the next several bills for any more of these shinanigans...good luck everyone!

Had never seen an entry in my account that simply just said... " CASH TRANS " no other identifying numbers, locations, or phone numbers with either entry... that was the "Give Away"... No other company has ever posted their entry on any of my accounts (Banks, Credit Cards, etc.) in that manner ... ! If anyone has contact number for "ID Sentinel" please post it so any and everyone can call them ... Also report it to your Bank as fraudulent ACH activity so the bank can go after them...!

DID A TRIAL OFFER FOR TWO TOOTH WHITENING PRODUCTS (CATHY'S TEETH IS THE AD THAT DIRECTED ME TO THE OFFERS). IT WAS WITH MNY WHITENING ($4.99) AND WHITENINGBRITES ($4.99) ON 6/2/09.

WITHIN A MONTH, I HAD SEVERAL UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES FROM ID SENTINEL ($19.99), GLOWING WHITE ($78.93), AXIS WELLNESS ($9.99), "CLUB" IN VIRGINIA BEACH FOR ($19.99). SO FAR, THE CLUB AND AXIS WELLNESS HAVE REFUNDED. GLOWING WHITE SAYS A CREDIT IS IN PROCESS. ID SENTINEL REFUSES TO REBATE SAYING I AUTHORIZED AN ACCOUNT ON 6/2/09 AND RECEIVED A MONTH OF SERVICE. (WHAT SERVICE IS MY QUESTION?). WARNING. WATCH OUT FOR THESE PROMO OFFERS AND ESPECIALLY ID SENTINEL. I HAVE TO CANCEL MY CARD AND GET A NEW ONE TO OPPOSE THIS CHARGE.
