Viking river cruise Paris/Normandy
Purchased a Viking cruise for my parents in 2018 for their anniversary. The trip was Paris/Normandy set to sail in November 2019. They rescheduled the trip two more times due to the pandemic and medical illness. Recently my mother was diagnosed with central auditory processing disorder and did not think she could make the trip which was scheduled for June 2024. The representative talked her into getting travel vouchers which she could reuse but did not tell her she could not get a refund. My parents also bought Tripmate insurance. Her doctor has now stated she cannot travel at all. I handed over all of my supportive documentation to TripMate including physician reports stating she could not travel. Viking reissued her travel vouchers again and stated that they cannot issue a refund. I stated that she cannot travel and a travel voucher will not do her any good. The vouchers are NON TRANSFERRABLE AND NON REFUNDABLE. My parents cannot travel and Viking is not willing to give.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a cash refund, or allowing the tickets to be transferred to myself and my husband.
Viking appliances
For anybody in the market for quality appliances do not buy Viking.
Despite the initial excitement of owning a new kitchen of VIKING appliances, it has caused me a great deal of inconvenience and frustration. Firstly, the refrigerator does not seem to be working properly. The tempera- ture inside seems to fluctuates in certain areas and freezes our water bottles constantly. Additionally, the ice maker is not functioning as it should, and your service department repair the door twice.
When I reported this to the repairman that came to fix the ice machine that was broken, told us that we need to have pay and ? a maintenance contract with him every six months to come in with the hinges. I found this to be totally absurd.
It is so disappointing that you rely on a brand for its ethics and integrity when buying their products, and then you’ll realize that the products are quite inferior, poorly made, and a service department that is probably the worst I have ever seen..
Vikings reputation is what I’m referencing. Your product quality right now is nowhere near that of the other high end brands. Your advertising is at best misleading, or downright deceptive and fraudulent.. When it comes to purchasing appliances reputation should is the most important thing to be taken into account.
We have had a negative experience with Viking appliances and repair department.
While one person's experience may not represent the entire brand, negative reviews and recurring issues should be taken into account. I urge you to review VIKINGS. It is indicative of their corporate responsibility and philosophy.
Anybody in the market should explore other brands that have a reputation for quality. I believe any other brand would be better than Viking.
Desired outcome: Quite frankly, I do not know. Maybe they would like to give an extended warranty for five years, which I doubt the equipment will last. Our kitchen was built around their equipment with their specs.
Misinformation and need recall repaired
I want to start by saying, we love our Viking stove when it's working. We purchased a house last year with a beautiful Viking stove and we were excited to use it, fast forward to early November, it almost caught our kitchen on fire. We came in from being out for the day to a STRONG burning smell. We flipped the braker to the stove and watched to make sure everything was ok before turning in for the night. We called a repair person and they came out and Viking support told them it was the 2 (TWO) fan motors. The guy ordered the parts, $700 for parts and $300 for labor on top of the $125 diagnostic fee. He came back to repair it when the parts were in and spent HOURS trying to find the second fan that Viking swore was in the stove. Finally he gave up and told us that we needed to call a certified Viking repair person. Unfortunately, there are none in our area. We called a SECOND repairman and Viking told him the SAME thing. There are TWO fans. The guy spent 2 hours trying to find it while charging us $225 AN HOUR. FINALLY, we talked to a 3rd guy at Viking that verified there is NO second fan. So now I have a $300 part that can't be returned per Viking. They told us we just had to keep changing parts until we found the problem. This was already WAYYYY more than we could afford. I started looking for parts online to save money and found a link about a recall for our EXACT same problem so I called Viking. They said my stove was NOT in the recall and she was very rude. When I looked, it was clear our stove was so I kept calling until I found someone to help me and verified that our stove was, in fact, on the recall list. When the part came in, I called to find someone to come out and replace the part and they referred me to another number. I called it and AGAIN, they said my stove wasn't included in the recall even though I have the part right now in my kitchen. I called the recall number AGAIN to verify and they said my stove was ABSOLUTLY in the recall. I called Viking again and they said the product wasn't registered to me. I know that because I bought the house with the stove in it. Then she said it's not under warranty. Again. I know this which is why I'm out so much in repairs. She also asked for a copy of my cash sale when I bought the house (weird but ok). It's been a month since I've had a stove and all they say is that they will call me back and NOBODY ever does. I just don't understand how nobody has the right info and I keep BLEEDING money. I just want help and to stop paying for their misinformation.
Desired outcome: I just want me stove fixed without it costing me more money.
Refrigerator
We have had this refrigerator less than 4 years. We already have had it repaired 3 times. Now we are on our 4th. Get this it is a refrigerator that won’t refrigerate. It won’t get cold. It 60ish. We have to use a college refrigerator to try to cool some items. We had to throw out a lot of food and the price of food is expensive. We called the Lakeview Appliance people to service it and they said it was out of warranty so they won’t come. So we called someone else and they said it is in warranty so they can’t do it with authorization from Viking so we called again and to them it is in warranty so they will send someone out to tell us the same problem that we told them about. So now we wait for their repairman hopefully he has the parts if not Then Who knows how long it will be til we can get our very expensive refrigerator working again
Desired outcome: Fixed and no more breaking this is ridiculous
Viking Speed Oven: VMDD5306SS
The control panel is not backlit. The End and Start buttons are so light that you can hardly distinguish one from the other. A certified Viking technician said it was designed poorly and he suggested we could ask an electrician to add a spotlight to in our ceiling to shine on the control panel. Even worse the technician said eventually the digital clock will eventually get so dim that we will not be able to see it. Viking said that the Speed Oven is well documented in their spec sheet. The spec sheet says nothing about the control panel NOT being backlit / readable. Additionally the functionality is a generation behind what Miele is offering. We've had this Speed Oven for about two weeks and we are asking the appliance store to remove it and we will replace it with a Miele.
Desired outcome: Refund the purchase. Viking design team should work on designing a functional product.
I have the same complaint. It is absurd that Viking considers an unreadable START and STOP control is a feature not a flaw.
Viking Range
It took me 5 years of saving then clise to a year ti get my viking range. Then i used it once and both ovens stopped working. A viking agent was called in and we learned that central boards fried due to manufacturers defect. That was. Month ago. Service says the part will not be in for another 5 weeks. Then we get to wait ti get someone here again. This oven costs so much money and this is the service we get? The delivery was delayed 6 months now this. I am going to retain a lawyer to get a class action suit going. There is precedent law with similar service for Motorola.
Desired outcome: I would like you to send a new oven or replace part within 1 week. Im told that it would take months ti get a new stove but i will not go to the back of the line again.
My Viking oven fried itself while cooking, Worse, Viking no longer manufactures, stocks, or replaces oven control boards, so my oven is now permanently useless. I hope you have a class-action suit about Viking control boards.
Viking side-by-side refrigerator/freezer
We had purchased Viking stainless steel refrigerator and freezer a few years ago. We had several times where the refrigerator would not work and had many service calls within the warranty period. There was several weeks during the warranty whereby the refrigerator was not working and it definitely appeared that Viking was not taking care of the internal mechanical issues. We were worried that the issue would just keep happening right after the warranty and that is exactly what happened. Viking company definitely did not fix the major problems with the refrigerator and we had to buy a new refrigerator without any help from the company immediately after the warranty expired. We were never reimbursed for spoiled food and definitely wasted several days of taking off work to allow for a technician to come out. Thousands of dollars were spent and wasted. No technician could figure out how to repair the refrigerator and make them last for at least a few years without constant technicians coming in and out of our house.
Desired outcome: We should be reimbursed for at least the refrigerator.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Viking Fridge
I am in utter disgust at the quality of the Viking Fridge. I have had nothing but problems with the fridge since purchase. Viking is NOT WILLING TO HELP OUT THEIR CUSTOMERS even though there is obviously a defect with the product because retrofit kits were made to "help" solve the icing up of the freezer. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED AND DISGUSTED AT VIKING. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THEM.
THE KICKER IS THAT THEY ARE SO NWILLING TO HELP.
Desired outcome: A call from someone who can assist their customer
Voucher
I registered a complaint last March regarding Viking. We had booked a cruise for last year and postponed it until this year due to Covid. In February we received an email from Viking that our new cruise was cancelled and we could rebook or get a refund. I selected a refund due to the fact that I am a senior citizen. However I was informed that although Viking cancelled this time, I had changed last year's and therefore I only had vouchers and could not get a refund. I wrote the CEO and got a nasty lady who said, " Did you think you would hear from him!" The reason I am writing today is I got an email from another passenger who noticed my original message had been resolved and he wondered how it had happened. It was resolved by Viking saying too bad you are out of luck! I do not consider that a resolution. As it turns out, we ended up on a cruise to Iceland and used up our voucher money. On the cruise everyone was so friendly and solicitous it was kind of creepy because that was not my experience with them earlier. Needless to say, I am not currently planning another cruise with Viking.
Desired outcome: Nothing ore to be done.
gas range is 8 months old and is still under warranty
The appliance (Viking gas range) was purchased from Royal Green appliance center in White Plains NY. In October 2018.
First off the the bottom trim plate was bent. The installers said they would report that and order a new trim plate once they notified Royal Green.
While installing the range one of the installers picked up the right side of the range from inside the door and bent the entire front of the range. This led to multiple phone calls and emails to the manager at Royal Green (Alan) before they agreed to replace the range. This left us with out use of the oven because the door would not close fully. This took about 2 weeks to get the new range.
The new range arrived and the bottom trim plate was bent on both sides. I agreed to let them take off the one that was just installed on the damaged range.
At this time, my wife noticed the porcelain on the range top was coming off around the burners on both sides. This was around the holidays and we figured we would have them replace it under warranty as soon as we cleared the holiday season. We called Royal Green and told them of the problem. They said they would contact the rep from Viking. Lo and behold, we were told it was cosmetic and was passed the 3 month warranty on that type of defect. Who could have guessed that since we had a 1 year warranty on the range. I blame this not only on Viking, but on Royal Green for not telling us this when we purchased the range.
The problems continued to intensify as the oven door hinge on the left side broke as I opened the oven to remove food. I burnt my hand slightly trying to hold the door and remove the food.
We contacted Royal Green and they told us the repair of the range door fell to a service called Elkay. We called and they told us it would be at least 2 weeks to come and look at the problem and at least another 2 weeks to repair the oven door. That's a month without use of the oven!
Elkay came and replaced the hinges. We asked them to look at the porcelain top problem and they informed us it was a manufacturers defect. We wanted that noted on the repair paperwork. We contacted Viking and they said they would give us a new top, but we would have to have it installed by a certified Viking service (Elkay) for $380 dollars. Again trying to rip off the consumer. We turned down that ridiculous offer.
Now it is August 2019 and once again the hinges failed in addition to the inner oven door liner warping. It will take 2 additional weeks to install the hinges and we were told the inner door liner was on backorder and would be installed in the future. We declined that offer because they want to put a bandaid on an obvious manufacturers defect.
I have called Viking customer service 5 times and am getting the run around.
Can you get involved in this matter? We would certainly appreciate your help.
Sincerely,
Joseph Abramo

Viking refrigerator, range, wall oven - junk
Keep having to replace Viking appliances - 48" refrigerator had hinge recall, electronics died, ice maker gave up early on and last was $1500 in repair that worked for less than a week. Bought a sub-zero - can see big difference in quality of the build.
Now 48" range is broken. After clean mode door won't open. Repair man told us hinges need to be replaced, but may break door doing it. Estimate $900 in parts, plus 'up to' $800 in labor. The knobs on this range have been loose for a long time so can't tell temp actually select and griddle was broken when received - had to be repaired. Replacing range now with Wolf.
|Still have a Viking wall oven that will get replaced. That one has been off by 50 degrees for a long time.
Viking has been nothing but problems, have no confidence in the products.
Damaged Goods
We purchased a Viking stovetop from Number 1 Appliance. It arrived after three weeks delivery time. The delivery company set it in our garage as the remodeling of our kitchen was not prepared at that time to install the new stove top. One week later we opened the box that contained the new stovetop, only to find the glass top completely shattered. I called Number 1 Appliance and they said we were obligated to open the package upon arrival and report any damage at that time. It was too late to file a claim. I called Viking to report the horrible customer service and lack of responsibility taken by Number 1 Appliance. They said it was up to Number 1 Appliance to file the claim against the freight company. Number 1 Appliance refused to assist in filing a claim. They were rude, unresponsive and plainly did not care. We lost $2500 to this horrible company! Buyer beware! Lower prices means lower standards and horrible customer service.
Poor Quality and Customer Service
Purchased a Viking Wine Refrigerator 3 years ago...broke down 9 months ago. Service people say it is not repairable...still under warranty. For 9 months we have worked to get resolution. Viking customer service is the worst...on hold an average of 1 hour, no return calls, no follow up...we have had to hire an attorney. The two customer service agents ( I use that term loosely) Patsy and Jennifer are horrendous. Since Viking got bought, they forgot their roots. DO NOT BUY VIKING PRODUCTS
Loudest Dishwasher in the World
I bought a very expensive Viking Pro Series dishwasher. Wanted to buy American made because of so called quality and support our own country. At first I thought the loud noise was because it was new. Well, it continues to get louder and louder. Now I need ear protection to run it as I would probably start to lose my hearing it is so loud. DO NOT BUY A VIKING DISHWASHER, you will be shocked how loud it is and they will not do anything other than tell you "yes, it is a loud dishwasher". Do they tell you that when you buy it? NO!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I had Viking kitchen ventilation hood (Professional series 36" with exterior blower) installed in my new house in 2006. In less than 6 years of less than normal usage, the motor went dead. The replacement part cost of the motor alone is $900. This is definitely outrageous.
My son has his phone disconnected, so I am now getting calls regarding his bill. I insist that arrangements can be made to pay monthly a small amount, but they want a lump sum now. He even sent them a small check and they sent it back. I want them to stop calling me. I am not on the account.
I agree! We bought all Viking appliances when we built our house last year. I THOUGHT we were getting high end appliances. I hate ALL of them, but especially the dishwasher. It takes a good two hours to cycle through a full load and each cycle is louder than the last. I can't EVER run the dishwasher at night when I go to bed because it is too noisy to sleep! I have to remember to run it when I leave the house or else I get MAD every time I hear it. Our last home had Jenn-Air appliances and they were MUCH better. Even the higher end GE appliances we had in a rental while we built were better than this crap. And probably WAY less expensive. Will never, EVER buy Viking again.
Viking appliances are junk
I purchased a complete Viking appliance package about 5 months ago. The Viking microwave oven stopped working a few days after it was installed. After calling Viking and Pacific Sales where I purchase it and getting a runaround from both they finally sent out a repair man.
They replaced a fuse and the micro started working again. A few days later it stopped working. I opened the touchpad and installed a new fuse. It worked for about 2 months and went out again. Six fuses later it still doesn’t work.
I have had many microwave ovens over the years and never have a single problem. This was the most expensive, $1400.00, and it is a piece of junk. I would not recommend viking products nor will I ever buy that brand again.
Dishwasher
Viking Professional Series Dishwasher is the worst, and the service from the company is even more horrid if possible. Bought in 2007 for $1, 500.00, the first part to go out was the hose between the diverter valve and pump, which caused a flood in my 100 year old home. Second, that same part failed again. Numerous times the unit failed to clean the dishes, and now, just one month out of the warranty, the control board, which controls everything, burnt up. Toxic smell in my house from this, and the part is $800.00 installed.
Not even mentioning the problems with my matching range, refrigerator, and microwave/hood combo.
I would urge anyone who is considering buying Viking to NEVER spend their money with them. Worst, disappointing experience of my remodeling projects.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The alarm goes off continuously
We replaced our kitchen in 2003. Replaced all appliances including Viking double oven, Viking Refigerator/freezer, Viking Ice Machine and Viking Warming Drawer. We bought the appliances with a 5 year warranty (thank God!). The components on the ice machine that broke down througout the first years were not covered however. I finally stopped using the Ice Machine two years ago when I came home from a weekend away to find water leaking all over my wood floors. They are now ruined. On the other side of the kitchen stands my fridge. The produce drawers all broke within the first year. I'm on a first name basis with our appliance man as we have had numerous repairs on the fridge. The last issue now is that it is leaking freon. I was elated to learn that the compressor is still under warranty, but I would have to pay labor to get the fridge out of the wall and replaced. Appliance people have come and gone as they were not able to figure out how to get the fridge out without ripping down tray ceiling so they tilt the fridgerator on it's "belly" to replace in the back.
So now I'm faced with hiring a contractor to dismantle my celing, bring in the appliance repair, then rebuild the celing. While they are doing all of this, I will also need to have a contractor replace the wood flooring on this side of the kitchen also due to all the leaking.
CANNOT AFFORD ANY OF THIS so it stands as is!
The alarm goes off continuously. I typically get up once every night to turn the temperature down on the fridge and turn off the alarm.
48 in. fridge
I purchased a Viking fridge in 2004. After 5 years, the evaporator broke. An authorized service dealer came to fix it and that should have been it forever. Three months later it broke again, and again it was "repaired. Within a year, it broke 3 more times and was repaired each time. Thank G-d it was under warranty.
Now, it has broken again for the 6th time, when it should never have broken again after the first and, because the warranty has expired, it would cost me $750 to repair .
Viking customer service would not allow me to talk to a supervisor and refused to admit there is a design flaw and repair it once and for all.
I will not pay to repair it and I will never look at another Viking product again.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Viking Major Appliance
Here are a series of emails between customer and supporting retailer. There is more to this story, dishwasher was purchased shipped and delivered in October 2010. Customer has no complaint with any retailer or service company, just VIKING the manufacturer. VIKING consistently produces LOWEST QUALITY for PRICE major appliances I've EVER run across, no matter what the product.
DO NOT BUY A HEADACHE!
Here is the email conversation after manufacturer failed to install leveling legs and they arrived about 2 months after the intial delivery of the dishwasher.
----------
Well the dishwasher is now running. I don't anticipate that there will be any other issue with that dishwasher. Again, thank you, Liz T, for your thoughtful and calm handling of that previous dissapointment.
All is well, for now, except for you to handle the quality assurance issues that obviously escape the Viking Corporation. I've been at a couple of dances in my life and I suspect that corners were cut and poor decisions were made by Production people unnamed at the Viking dishwasher assembly plant that eventually cascaded into my attention.
American and U.S. products should be SUPERIOR to ALL challenges. If Viking cannot produce QUALITY PRODUCTS then it is high time for Viking to throw in the towel and move out of the way so some other American or U.S. manufacturer can. "If you cannot stand the heat, git out of the kitchen."-Truman
Plesser's, Metro Service, and all envolved except for Viking were on-time, right priced, helpful, and anxious to do QUALITY business.
I am not finished with Viking.

To me, Viking is inaccessible, that's not good. But that is Viking's problem, not mine.
I anticipate service tomorrow, Wednesday March 2. We will probably "be happy" to walk this irritation out the door and it will soon be an insignificant glitch of an otherwise beautiful arrangement of a dream.
Thanks Liz for your assistance, I shall give you an immediate update of current functionality of that dishwasher when I have something new to relay.

Hi Mr. R,
I am so sorry to hear that the service on this unit has turned into such a battle. I would strongly recommend that you harass Viking daily, the squeakiest wheel tends to get the oil, if they are unable to fix your unit within a reasonable amount of time they will be forced to replace it. All replacements are normally handled directly with them. I have contacted my rep in regards to this issue and am awaiting word from him. The problem stems from the lack of availability of the necessary replacement parts. I will hopefully be in touch soon.
Thank you again for your continued patience and your kind words,

Metro Service 918-
I've heard enough excuses from Metro and/or Viking.
My wife is calling Metro daily. She has not relayed any message to me to "open the house" for any serviceman.
We've purchased thus far from Viking, via Metro and Plessers, matching major appliances: a ventilation hood, a combination range, and a dishwasher. Only the dishwasher has problems, thus far. But those problems are forcing us to reconsider our brand selection. If my wife gets mad enough she may dump everything into the street and she will go another route with her "big house dream kitchen and dining area".
We have scheduled, major family, social, and political events at our "big house". We have completely botched two major family events (Thanksgiving and Christmas), one social event (New Years Eve), and relocated two political events (MLK Holiday and President's Day). All because of a non-functioning VIKING dishwasher! Now we have my 60th birthday on {deleted} and no repairs are in sight! So far, I am not angry, but I am getting close to the edge.
Plesser's via Liz T is the ONLY reason, I have not lost my cool. You are doing an excellent job for the amount of control of this situation you have. Plesser's has been "right priced", "on-time", and helpful. For that you will win my future business if you sell whatever my wife decides to buy (next purchases planned are/was a steam oven, a warming oven, upgrades to the Viking range (warming shelf, timers, and other add-ons), built-in refrigerators, and let's not forget those counter-top gizmos and cookware! That's just inside the "big house"! Next project will be an outdoor kitchen and service area. I guess she'll build a whole kitchen outdoors too!
I filled the swimming pool last week and will start it up probably mid-March and here comes the spontaneous parties, if that dishwasher is not working by then, I will throw it into the street and everyone will deal with Oklahoma's finest.

I’m not sure what you mean, was service unable to be completed due to parts? What is the phone number for the service company and I will see what can be done from my end on getting these parts expedited. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello Liz
Metro Appliance Repair telephoned this morning (service appointment was scheduled for today) to inform me that the part they ordered and received was somehow incorrect.
Another delay!
I hope other Vikings customers don't experience similar problems as they won't stay in business long and I'll be stuck with unservicable appliances!

Thank you Liz for emailing. We are still waiting for parts that had failed on startup. My wife spoke to the Metro Service Tech today and he indicated that the ordered parts have still not arrived and he could not estimate their arrival.
Unfortunately for Viking and their dealers, service issues such as this undermine potential future referrals/sales from many associated contractors, friends, and aquaintances. In my case, my wife works at a bank and hundreds of her customers/friends have become familiar with the Viking diswasher's service problem. I work in a service industry and cannot wait for service parts for more than a few days. When I must wait and my customer becomes impatient, I generally lose, much more than a single customer. But I need not explain that to you, as I somehow feel you have become well aware of such problems.
At this time, I am frustrated but optimistic that the dishwasher will be operating within the month; past performances will fade and new purchases will follow according to plan. Spring is on the horizon (hope you are staying warm)!
Thank you Liz for writing and allowing me a vent. I'll email immediately when the dishwasher becomes serviceable.

Thank you Liz, I have scheduled service for Thursday, 12/23/2010 1-4 PM with Metro Service.
I am familiar with both companies, Metro and Hahn, having made major appliance purchases from both; however, Hahn has not responded to my service call. I've made Viking purchases from Metro in the past but have never required service. Hahn is not a stocking Viking dealer.
I'll let you know the outcome of the service experience with Metro.

Subject: Dishwasher Service Required
We installed our new dishwasher and it operated one time.
I believe we need service because the dishwasher door will not latch and I have found a small piece of white plastic on the floor underneath the dishwasher door.
Please send me the name and telephone number for an authorized Viking Dishwasher Service Company here in Tulsa.
Model VDB200
Serial Number 081710D00018306
Thank you even though I am becoming frustrated.

Incidently folks if you are still reading -- Plesser's Appliance is TOP NOTCH!

Poor Quality
I spent over $2500 on a Viking Ice Machine (actually it's a Marvell Ice Machine with a Viking logo). I've already had it repaired 4 times for a total of $13oo including replacing the bin thermostat ($360), replacing the compressor, evaporator-heat exchanger and valve ($470 in labor, the parts were covered by warranty) and replacing the drain pump ($388 just for the part which I replaced myself). Now the drain pump went out again! I called Viking to complain about the "lemon" that I obviously got and all they could tell me was that "sorry, it's no longer covered by the warranty". Viking products are crap and I will never buy another one. They are over priced to boot, so don't think that just because you pay for a "high end" appliance that you are actually getting a higher quality product because you're not.

Ditto here! I bought a Viking Ice Machine, Double Oven and Refrigerator in 2003. The ice machine has had continuous issues and has now been out of use for the last 3 years. I unplugged it when it finally leaked water on my wood floor and has ruined the floor surrounding. Same with refrigerator! Lid on produce drawer is broken. Entire unit holding the two produce drawers do not stay put. Now the refrigerator needs is leaking freon. Appliance repair people have found out that a new compressor would be under warranty but that I need to pay the hourly wage for the two repairmen to get the refrigerator out of the wall. Estimated at $750. Once they got here however, they could not figure out a way to get it out without removing all the drywall surrounding. I cannot afford a handyman to dismantle an entire wall and rebuild it again, let alone replace the wood flooring now coming about around the leaking refrigerator. A couple of years ago, I made numerous calls to Viking about these two "lemon" appliances to absolutely no avail. Now I read that my fridge has a recall for hinges. Not an issue that has come up for me, but I'll be calling to get this taken care of before the door falls on someone and ruins the remaining flooring, let alone hurt someone. Stay away from Viking appliances! $9000 ripoff!
I so totally agree! I have aborted the Viking mission to save the ice maker. I hung in there for 2 tours, (the first one was replaced after months of ahggling and hassle). I have opted to purchase a brand new Whirlpool from Sears with a 5 yr warranty . The last repair man for my Viking quoted me $450-$500 for the repair with no guarantee it would work. Now I have a brand working machine with the security of warranty and no additional repair cost, free yearly maintenace checks and ...I have ICE! what a HUGE disappointment Viking was.
