On 07th February 2023 I phoned the Vodacom cancellations department because I was considering migrating to MTN with my two contracts which was due for upgrade. The consultant then told me they will put me on a month-to-month package at a discounted rate until I upgrade which I can cancel at anytime. I then received messages stating I was upgraded for 24 months. I then phoned and complained that I did not upgrade, I was told the matter will be escalated and the upgrade cancelled. I phoned several times after that to have the matter resolved. Today 13th November 2023 I phoned Upgrade's department to upgrade my two contracts and was informed I can only upgrade in 2025. I am shocked and disgusted with the fraudulent upgrades that consultants are getting away with. I cannot pay for an upgrade that I did not authorize which I must pay for 2 years. I phoned several different departments today (upgrades, customer care, cancellations) and I am tired of not getting assistance. The managers are hiding behind the front-line consultants and not taking our complaints seriously. If this matter is not resolved, I intend lodging a case of Fraud against Vodacom for trapping me into a contract I did not agree to and making me pay for it. I definitely want to change to another service provider due to this unethical behavior.
