I've been with Walton EMC for a long time and their per therm rate used to be pretty good
I've been with Walton EMC for a long time and their per therm rate used to be pretty good. But recently, they suddenly increased it without even telling me. They claimed that they didn't send notifications because of Covid, which I find hard to believe. My bill went from about $50 to over $120! I reached out to them and asked if they could reconsider this huge charge, explaining that I'm a single mom and every penny matters to me. But they completely ignored my loyalty as a customer and didn't make any effort to make things right. It's really disappointing and I'm not happy with Walton Gas at all.

Awful customer service! This company don't have no compassion and don't know what customer service means. I'm a single mom and sometimes I forget things. Other companies like *** and Georgia Natural Gas send alerts and make courtesy calls if you miss a payment by accident. But not this company! Unfortunately, I paid my bill on the same day they were gonna disconnect me, 'cause I didn't know. I only found out about the disconnection when my kids and babysitter called me to complain about being hot and not having electricity. Where's the compassion? Where's the proactive attitude to take care of your customers? Now I gotta leave work, lose money, find some cash to stay in a hotel until they come and turn my services back on, and arrange transportation for my babysitter and the kids.

Walton EMC is a company that helps with gas services here in GA. They work with GNG and it's not easy to deal with them. Especially when it comes to renewing your service. The way they notify and renew is more about increasing the price per therm than helping the customer get the best deal. They talk about using technology and stuff to collect their fees (I even got text messages about my bill, when it's due, and when it's past due with links to pay) but they don't offer the option to get notified when my contract is about to expire and the price per therm is going to go up by over 250%. They say they post it on 2 billing statements before the contract expires, but when they keep shoving e-bill statements in my face every time I log in, I don't see the notice. You have to log into your account, find the actual PDF paper bill, not just the account summary or ledger, but download and view the bill to see this info. It's a big failure to the customer, that's why I really urge anyone reading this to use a different provider. My bill went from $60-$90/month to over $200/month because of the contract expiration. It's clear they would rather let your contract expire, even for a month, so they can take all your money and maybe leave you without gas.

Walton EMC is a terrible electric provider. When you call their customer service, be prepared to wait for a whopping 15 minutes. They recently updated their website, but checking your electric usage on it is a real gamble. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And if you want to make any changes to your account, they demand paperwork as if they were a fancy law firm. Can you believe that? I wish I could pay extra just to get away from Walton EMC because they are absolutely awful. Why on earth do I need legal documents to remove someone who hasn't paid their bill in 3 years? It's beyond frustrating to deal with all this nonsense.

Date of Billing: 07/07/2022 I moved to a new place and was shocked to see that my first bill on my property was a $330 electric bill for the month. Normally, I used to pay $150 for a house of the same size. We've kept our house temperature at 78 degrees the whole time. When I checked the meter, I noticed that the reading was lower than the current reading on the bill. For instance, the bill stated the meter as "***" but when I checked, it showed a reading between *** to ***. I took a picture of that reading and sent it to customer service. It doesn't make sense that the meter reads less than what I was billed for. Instead of adjusting my bill, customer service blamed it on a faulty meter and ordered a replacement. Now, if the meter was faulty, is it my fault that it was read incorrectly on their end and I was charged an incorrect amount?

I used to be a customer of Walton EMC at ***, 30605. The original amount was $418.00, and it was assigned on 12. When I moved from that address, I gave Walton my new address for the final payment. Before that, there was a mixup with a previous double-billed amount that I thought was resolved. However, I never received a final *** at my new address. Suddenly, I found out that my credit report had an unpaid debt assigned to *** of ***. When I discovered this, I immediately paid the *** and contacted Walton on the phone. It seemed like everything was resolved. But today, *** of *** still considers the debt unpaid, and Equifax still has it on my credit report as unpaid. Neither party is responding or removing it from my credit report. Walton EMC hasn't been helpful and just keeps passing me off to the unresponsive, unhelpful, and unprofessional *** who then sends me back to Walton. Equifax is believing the lies of *** who claims the debt remains unpaid even though it's been paid in full. I request that Walton EMC does the honorable thing and confirms in writing to me, ***, and Equifax that the debt has been paid in full. I have attached copies of the payment details.
