I gots me a Weil-McLain ultra 155 series 2 boiler for my crib
I gots me a Weil-McLain ultra 155 series 2 boiler for my crib. It's been doin' aight, but a few years back I had to reset it a bunch of times. My heatin' dude swapped out a part and that fixed it up. But then a couple years ago it started leakin' and it's been gettin' worse. My heatin' dude checked it out and said the aluminum cast heat exchanger is dissolvin' from the acidic water made by combustion. They put it in on 9/8. My heatin' dude said they could swap out the castin' for *** or get a whole new furnace for ***. I think this is a design flaw 'cause all these furnaces will start leakin' when the aluminum dissolves. They shouldn't be sellin' any more of these furnaces until they fix the design flaw. I ain't too happy 'bout havin' to replace my furnace.
This product is no good
This product is no good. It broke after only 3 years because of a leak from the hot input. The company wouldn't talk to me about it. I called a plumber and they were told to take out the anode rod and send a picture to the company to make sure it was okay, even though it was only a few years old. The plumber tried many times to get an answer, but they never responded. We waited 3 weeks with no response. I had to clean up water many times a day. I gave up because the company doesn't care. They have a bad product and a bad warranty. My plumber said that this product fails more than any other brand and that they rarely stand behind their warranty. Don't buy Weil McLain.
Bad experience!
Bad experience! We got an old boiler from Weil-Mclain with our house. Lately, it stopped sending heat to our radiators, so we called one of their contractors to check it out. The contractors found a leak from an underground pipe. They said they'd talk to their supervisor about giving us an estimate for the repair. They took $195 for the evaluation and left. But they never got back to us. I emailed the contractor to ask about the estimate, and the receptionist took my email and promised that the supervisor would reply. That was a month ago, and I haven't heard from them since. I tried contacting Weil-Mclain about this, but they never responded to my calls or emails. Don't buy their products. They don't check the contractors they send to your home, and they'll just ignore you.

My plumber put in a new gas-fired hot water boiler from Weil-McLain, which I got from an official plumbing supply store
My plumber put in a new gas-fired hot water boiler from Weil-McLain, which I got from an official plumbing supply store. It leaked right away, and I had to replace a small part. Weil-McLain paid for the part, but they wouldn't cover the $315.61 I had to pay for labor. I filled out their warranty form, but they said after a few weeks that the warranty didn't cover labor. They did give me a $125 "good faith" payment, but that's not enough. The unit was messed up from the start, not because of anything that happened during the warranty period.
Wellmcclain's indirect water heater started leaking from the bottom after only 3 years in my brand new house
Wellmcclain's indirect water heater started leaking from the bottom after only 3 years in my brand new house. I've been working with a local company to fix the issue since spring. The original installer, who was another local company, refused to help. This model has an anode rod that deteriorated, causing the tank to leak. The original installer never informed us, the homeowners, of any necessary yearly maintenance. They came to the house at least once a year since installation and never noticed the problem. This model was supposed to have a 12-year warranty, but it didn't even last half that long.
Weil Mclain made a water boiler system for my house
Weil Mclain made a water boiler system for my house. The boiler has a problem with the heat exchanger and it leaks, which makes the unit shut down and there's no heat. The heat exchanger is supposed to be under warranty for 5 years, but they won't honor it. My mom is 77 and can't handle a cold house. We paid around $6,000 to have it installed in 2019, and it's only been 3 years. We've had to spend more money on water and electricity to use space heaters and other heat sources, and we haven't had heat for about 2 weeks now. Also, because there's no hot water in the pipes, we now have leaks in the walls outside. This is a big health issue that needs to be fixed quickly because the weather is bad right now.

I got a WeilMcClain boiler in September
I got a WeilMcClain boiler in September . It replaced an old Weil McClain boiler that lasted 39 years. But the new one broke down in March , just after 3 years. We got a new boiler from ***, who filed a claim with McClain. They said they'd give us our money back for the faulty boiler, but then they changed their mind. *** said they'd look into it, but we haven't heard back. Three years is not enough for a boiler to last. We want our money back or for them to pay for the new one. *** doesn't care because they already got paid. We need ComplaintsBoard.com to help us out. A boiler should last longer than 3 years, especially when it costs $4900. Retired people can't afford to spend $10000 on boilers every few years.
I bought a Weil-McLain Indirect Hot Water heater from my oil company in 2013
I bought a Weil-McLain Indirect Hot Water heater from my oil company in 2013. It broke down because water from my domestic hot water supply leaked back into the steam boiler loop, making the water level in the steam system too high. This caused water to leak out of my radiators and damage my flooring. The oil company checked for the cause of the water entering the steam system and found that it was the hot water feeding into the boiler in error. They reported a warranty claim to Weil-McClain since the tank is only 7 years old. Weil-McClain sent the oil company technician back to my home to remove an anode rod and take a picture of its condition. Weil-McClain is saying that since the anode rod was corroded, the warranty was void. We were not told at the time of installation that there was an anode rod and that it needed to be maintained nor how often it was to be maintained. Removing the rod by the technician took a lot of effort and left water spilling out of the tank onto my floor. Looking at my warranty, it doesn't mention anything about anode rod maintenance as a condition of the warranty.
I bought a Weil-McLain unit last year and it was installed in January 2022
I bought a Weil-McLain unit last year and it was installed in January 2022. The model number is CGA-5 PIDIN CP# ***. It worked fine for a few months, but then I stopped using it during the spring and summer. When I turned it on again in the fall, it kept turning on and off. I didn't think much of it at first, but then it stopped working altogether. I called Weil-McLain customer service and they told me to find a contractor on their website. I called *** Heat and Plumbing and they sent someone to my house on January 5th, 2023. The professional found a leak coming from the temperature sensor and said it could be a defective part. He said the leak caused the flame to shut off and made the bottom of the unit ***. He said he would use the company warranty to get the parts, but I would have to pay for the labor. I think this is ridiculous since the unit was installed less than a year ago and it's already damaged. I want the whole unit to be replaced.
