June 24th at approximately 8am my wife entered Weis store #45 located at 9250 Washington Blvd Laurel, MD to do her weekly shopping and had our 2 yr. old grandson with her. Please note that we have shopped at the Weis stores for over 20 plus years on a weekly basis and spend a considerable amount of money each time. Though unfortunately the prices are now ridiculous but that is another story. Upon finishing shopping she proceeded to the check out line which there was only one cashier who was extremely busy. My wife does not like to use the self check out when she has a large number of items and is by herself to attend to a 2 yr. old and bag the groceries by herself it is very demanding.
The assistant manager told her to use the self check and my wife politely refused and explained to her that reason. The assistant manager was inconsiderate to her reason and rude. She told her she would have to speak with the manager if she had a problem. At that point, my wife informed the assistant manager she was leaving the $300.00 plus items in the cart and leaving the store. She informed the assistant manager that she will not be shopping in any Weis store again.
As customers of 20 plus yeas to be treated in such a disrespectful and rude manner is totally unacceptable.
Desired outcome: Better trained management staff in customer service
