shady loan practices
I am in the process of renovating my home. I am a teacher with not a lot of extra income. I took out a Home Projects Loan through Wells Fargo to purchase new energy efficient windows for my home. The loan was for $10, 000 which I used $7500 for the windows. I also had a credit line of $1500 for other purchases.
I have never paid late nor missed a payment on this loan. Regardless, for the past two months after my payment is processed, I receive a letter from Wells Fargo saying they have decreased my credit available to the amount due since my credit is not sufficient. I have an average credit score, and have run into financial hardship but have not missed payment on other bills. This action by Wells Fargo has changed my credit score because it looks like I have maximized my line of credit.
Has anybody else experienced this? Do they want to purposely put you into a hole you can't dig out of?

i had a home in san diego ca.i wanted to buy another in ramona ca.at that time the bank was world savings.it then changed to wachovia.it is now wells fargo.the loan officer told us we needed to take out two different loans.one to take money out for a remodel of the original home.at that time it was worth about $950k.there was a loan of about $440k.then we were told we need another loan for the new home, also $440k.we also had to put down $121k.at the time, the new home was bank owned.we made a lower offer.we wwere told we had to pay the full asking price of $570k.the home was suppose to be worth $652k.we were told at that time because we were going to sell the original home, we should just get 15 year adjustable loans on both.we had planned to sell the original home and pay off both homes.at that time the housing market changed.we could not sell it for that price.so we rented it out.we were making some payment on it, not full ones.but the bank was accepting them.then we had to evict the tenant this year for non-payment of rent.of course wachovia swooped in and filed for a foreclosure process.the home at time was now worth a lot less.we ended up after waitng for them to modify the loan for close to two years, selling the house on short sale last month for $350k.now while trying to keep paying on the other home, we got behind on the new home.but we were only owing about $7k.next thing we know it was jacked up to close to $23k.we had asked for a re-payment plan back when it was about $7k.we were told to fax in lots of documents.we faxed them.now they are telling me today that they did not receive them, we did not call back for phone interview.i called back another person, they say they received the papers but now it's too late so they want to foreclose on the 24th.they told my real estate agent another story earlier today.so now i have to go pay for an atorney and pobably file papers with our DA here in San Diego.plus file a case of elder abuse against Wachovia/WellsFargo.i am sure there was some illegal dealings with the loans.we gave up our other home to save this one.so we will fight to the finish.all we want is to start making our payments again like we were told we could.we offered to send in a large sum, we were told to hold onto it and not send it at that time. this house is now worth $350k, half of what it was suppose to be.so Wachovia/Wells Fargo needs to step up and do the right thing as they promised.we will be filing the papers with the DA on monday and the papers for Elder abuse.i was 69 when the loans were taken out.they for sure took advantage of me.i will see attorney on monday.wish me luck.

Wells Fargo is a horrible bank they cannot conduct any decent business. Their Loss Mitigation Department is the worst. They are incompetent, unskilled, ignorant and unprofessional employees. Their management and leaders are running a scam with the short sales and foreclosures. I had a buyer that was willing to pay cash $290, 000 cash and Wells Fargo took 7 months to approve the offer and the buyer walked away. I have been trying to do a short sale with them for a year and a half and they will just sit on your packages and transfer you from negotiator to negotiator. The second time I got a buyer that offered $285, 000 wells Fargo sat on the offer for 3 months and then denied it. Do not work with Cassandra Bloyer, Deyya McClurkin, Laurien L. Grimes, Vincent Moynihan, they are just a waste of time and don’t know anything about the process and they will send your file back and forth until the time is up and they will foreclose your home. They are not willing to work with you; they are just rude and worthless to deal with. What a horrible experience, I am glad it is over and I won’t ever have to deal with Wells Fargo ever again. Please be smart and do not get yourself trapped by them, they are not there for you or your family they are only in while you show them THE MONEY after that they will not work, cooperate or be flexible with you ever.

We are having a very hard time with Vincent Moynihan who is not responding to anything we send him but just keeps sending rude emails with deadlines that are less than 24 hours. Despite all the requested documents we send, he says we are being inactive and he threatens to shut the whole short sale process down. Very frustrating!

Stay away from wells fargo bank! My attempt to wire money from my account to a corresponding bank in canada resulted in lost funds, misinformation, lies, abusive behavior by management and failure to make any attempt to solve the dilemma.
My inquiries into what happened to my money were met with made-up excuses, recriminations, and a how dare you question us attitude.
Even the bank manager stated to me to that some employees are not thoroughly trained, which is common in the banking industry. That I and customers alike should expect it, and to live with it!
That made me feel very secure about wells fargo handling my money.
No one, including branch management and upper level managment appologized for my inconvenience, concern and anxiety. No one cared about making any attempt to trace and find out what happened to my money.
I was able to finally meet a non - management wells fargo employee that cared about the customer and not at all interested in false bravado.
She immediatly set about to research and trace the lost wire.
Unfortunatly, after getting nowhere for a week with the so called managers, I now have to wait an addtional few days to trace the funds.
I do not expect the young lady that finally assisted me to advance very far with wells fargo. She is the only one that actually displayed intelligence and compassion. Obviously a rare commodity at this moscow idaho wells fargo branch.
If you deal with wells fargo, get out! If you are thinking about it, don't! If you must, remember that the chance of confronting incompetence is far greater than you think.

I wrote a check for my rent to my apartment complex (1260.39). Wells Fargo only paid a portion to my apartment (859.14). My apartment let me know about the discrepancies. I had Wells fargo investigate. The conclusion is on the letter, telling me they withdrew the remaining balance from my account. The apartment told me they still have not received it. After a lot of back and forth with the bank and the apartment, the apartment made me pay the remaining balance by adding it to my monthly rent. So they got their money. Now I have been trying to have Wells Fargo return my 401.25, they just do not care.
I recently went to talk to the Wells fargo banker to call their customer service line for me. As a result, I receive a letter telling me there was no fraud all is good with the transaction. What a crap! Every time you talk to a representative, you never know what will happen next. Each one comes with a different scenario. They told me way before, they were waiting on the Apartment bank (First National Bank) to answer to them, before returning my money. Then, another person said, to prove that I paid the apartment for them to give me back the balance. Even though I thought it was ridiculous, I still went ahead and fax the documents as requested. Then nothing. When I called again, another customer service brought to another reality. The agent was having hard time understanding what was going on and so on. The last move I did was to go to see the agent.
Looked up "inept" and here I am. I've spent hours online and with a "Representative" (he does represent What WF is). getting not one answer. I opened up a VA Fiduciary account a week ago, no mean feat that took hours and three employees. I could not access the account online, called WF and was told I could never access the account online AND the only thing they would or could confirm was that there was an account number, mine, with F WF, but could not even confirm that it WAS MY FEDUCIARY account.
First thing tomorrow I will be closing this account that I had to open with $25 of my own money, and hopefully will get back in cash.

As an addition to this posting, one of my Personal Bankers (one of Five I have had in this year of 2012) had such an unusual name I thought I would do a google search on the name. The only info that came up was a Police Mug-shot and a DUI arrest.
I, being in the UK, had never met my personal banker so I did not know if these two people were the same, but when I was in the USA in 2012 I thought I'd have a 1-2-1 with the name.
It WAS him... a very distinctive face.
Of course, barely weeks after our interview he had left the bank (to repeat, one of FIVE Personal Bankers I have had this year) - indeed, the only time I discover my Personal Banker no longer works for Wells Fargo is when their e-mails start to bounce back. Even now, I am still not sure who (in my Florida branch) is my personal banker.
When this bank was Wachovia I never experienced any problems. As soon as it became Wells Fargo, THAT's when the muck started hitting the fan.
AVOID WELLS FARGO at all cost.

I have been round and round with these rude people! Do NOT finance with them! My daughter helps pay a small portion of the payment and she had some medical issues and and was trying to get caught up on her bills. We were only behind 2 weeks and she called to inform them for me (she has permission on the account). They tell her "Why don't you have the loan with us?" She says, "because its my moms car plus she has better credit anyways" And the man replies "Well no wonder you don't have the loan in the first place. You can't even afford to make any payments." And then he starts yelling at her! I will state that the reason she fell behind was because she had to undergo chemotherapy (which they knew). She was already feeling horrible and they just added to it. They actually almost lost their house with Wells Fargo...but pulled through and was calling wells fargo dealer services about my vehicle just to let them know we fell a couple weeks behind. I was furious, called back, and i was told that if 1 payment is overdue 30 days, they will reposes my vehicle...1 payment! These people were rude jerks. He set up 2 payments to be taken out. One the day before I got paid but was supposed to be taken out after business hours so It would not be taken out of my bank account until the next day and another 2 weeks later...well, he forgot to note the account about the first payment being taken out after hours and guess what!?! overdraft! He also failed to tell me it was a $10 charge for each payment set up... Until I received a letters in the mail describing fees and banks overdraft fees! After calling back to cancel that last payment set up, I was told "i should of known about that"...how am i supposed to know if no one tells me! Anyhow, that doesn't even skim the issues i've had with this company!

I co-signed for my daughter to get a car with Wells Fargo Dealer Services. My daughter lost her job so I've taken over her payments. I received a call from a young lady telling me that because my daughter didn't have insurance on the car so her payment were no longer $283 but it is now $412. I asked her if the amount of the car payment has changed then my contract must need to be changed as well. I asked her additional questions about the insurance then I stated to her that I would just be paying the $283. She told me that if I paid $283 it wouldn't go towards the car it would just be sitting in limbo. I've never in my life heard of such a thing. When you pay a bill money does not sit in limbo. Clearly she was trying to discourage me from making a payment unless it was $412. She was rude and ghetto and then went on to say that the car still has a $14, 000+ balance. Of course it still has a $14, 000+ balance. She has only had the car a year and as with any car, the first few years you are basically paying the interest amount. At any rate, that has nothing to do with them trying to force us to pay car insurance which is completely separate from the car payment.
I had my car financed with Wells Fargo Auto Finance for four years and I had NO problems. They were polite and easy to deal with. In December I got a letter advising that they were changing my account to Wells Fargo Dealer Services.
BIG MISTAKE!
These are the rudest people that I have ever spoken to. I had this guy named Miguel tell me that I would have to talk to him after my car was repossessed.
I had been paying more than my established monthly payment and so I had a reduced payment due. In October, I paid the reduced amount plus about $50.00. In November, I paid the reduced amount. In December, I was laid off for two months, I tried to make a deferred payment arrangement and was told that since my last two payments did not meet or exceed the regular payment amount I was not eligible for deferred payments. Keep in mind I was paying a reduced amount because I had previously been paying more than my agreed upon billed amount.
Ever since then dealing with Wells Fargo has been a nightmare. They moved me over to Wells Fargo Dealer Services, wiped out access to my payment history and assigned me to the collector from hell, Miguel.
I drew money from my retirement account to pay off this horrendous loan and I will NEVER again use Wells Fargo, for anything!
Sitting here reading this stuff about Wells Fargo I cant believe in this economy how heartless banks can be. None of us have been bailed out in this economy. Recently, I tried to make several attempts to make a payment online and it wouldnt work. SO I call customer service and they tell me there is a fee.. A fee for what doing your job. Not my fault your website isnt working is that part of your job or do I have to pay for that too? So they told me that I should be patient with them and that they appologize for the inconvenience. In October I received a bad check from a customer of a large amount I was counting on this to make my car payment before it was 30 days late. The CSR tells me I have all day that day that I am ok I explained that not only did I get an NSF payment from a parent but that a drunk driver drove into the rental house I was buying and doing my business out of. If he would have told me pay me right this minute or else or that if you pay it after 5 you are going to have a late payment. I would have called 10 parents to pick up their kids from my daycare to handle it. Needless to say I made the payment at 7pm and there was a 30 day late put on my credit and my home loan was wiped off the board I feel bad for myself the broker the realestate lady and now my business is hanging on by a thread because the lady that owns the house leases to me at 2500 and I lost my tax credits. I would have been paying about 1600... Today I am sending another letter to North Carolina in hopes that they hear my pleas to please take this off my credit. For anyone reading this two words of warning. To this date I cant think of a good reason to deal with Wells Fargo. If in fact they help me fix this as its partly my fault for being late and all their fault for not telling me if its made after 5 youll have a 30 day late. 2 hours changed my life. So if they say to you please be patient or things happen we are sorry... please explain to them that the gate truy does not swing the other way AND that they got a government bailout and we are all rats in a cage attempting to put another dollar in their buckets. mortgage modification scam
I found out yesterday through a good source, the M.O of this outfit. You see, on some of these (in fact most) of these modification programs are specifically designed to fail, especially the President's "Affordable Home Program" has been viciously abused by the mortgage companies. These ppepople are "double dipping.
They do it by receiving $4000 a month from the government to pay the mortgage companies for our mortgage...this is their first "Dip". At the end of the year they have strung you along with al of the same complaints you see recorded on this site. By that time they have taken $48, 000 from the government (our bail out monies for them). After they have strung us along for that year with no intention of any permanent adjustment, I receive a notification that I did not qualify for the modification and that I owed them $10, 000 for the principal that was not paid in the temporary modified payment. So now they have the government's (our money) of 48, 000, they have now given us THREE WEEKS to come up with the 10, 000 or face "AN ACCELERATED FORECLOSURE". Their next move is to offer to "help" you out again by offering assistance on a "short sale", which is simply giving your home to them or their designated buyer. They have now made back on top of the 48, 000 and the 10, 000 (if you could come up with it) and the full balance of the mortgage
In essence, they used our bail out money to throw us out of our own homes.
The President's intention in giving the companies money was to allow us to keep our homes and paying them not to foreclose, giving us a chance to get back on our feet. ..instead, they are using his program to screw us and the government out of our monies and our home place. They have made more money with this scam than they would have being honest and simply doing the business of mortgage contracting. They are making BILLIONS, in not TRILLIONS throwing us out of our own homes with our own money. This simpy cannot be legal. A class action suit is most certainly in order here.and a congressonal investigation along with a criminal investigation should be initiated by the government. ..They are intentionally causing the President's program to fail.
I have found out about a law firm in Tennessee that is taking these cases to court and arranging a fair settlement. I still have to find out their names and address and I will post it as soon as I do. .
overdraft charges
I have a wells fargo complete advantage (Rm) checking & savings account. Completed an on-line transfer of $1000 from my savings to my checking account, since I wanted to cover a check I was writing & an on-line purchase at walmart. My printer was non-functional at the time so I could not print out a copy of the transaction with its corresponding confirmation number.
Much to my surprise the transaction never occurred. I went to the bank asking why I did not have automatic overdraft protection. They said it was never set up & I had to $35 for each incident for a total of $70. So where is the advantage of my disadvantage account ?
To make matters worse I asked to set up the overdraft protection to find it still charges me $10 per day for a service, to use my own money, and was free at my other banks!
Who is the government protecting, its people or its corrupt banking system ?
Good-bye wells fargo & screw your customer business ethics !

I became unemployed in June of this year. After two weeks, I decided to cash in my 401K so that I would have money to live until I could find a job. I contacted Wells Fargo on July 13, 2010, instructed them to close my account and forward the money to me. (around $6, 000) They explained that it would take 2 business days for the transaction to be completed...

If you are looking for a loan, do not use Wells Fargo Auto. If you are behind on payments in any fashion, be forewarned of how you will be treated when you call in to make arangements. This is coming from a mild-mannered, very logical, patient person. As of today, my car payment is 5 days late. FIVE DAYS. I called in because this month, I need to pay it on the 27th - which is late, I realize. It's too much to type here, but please note, coming from a very sane and logical person - I was crying by the time I hung up (and I hung up on the woman.) I did not realize a call to let them know I will be a few weeks late this month would turn into someone yelling at me, talking down to me, taunting me, questioning my finances - with very harsh language and manner. It was shocking. It was unprofessional. I decided to let her keep talking and talking, because I figured at the end I could repeat myself "I HAVE NO MONEY I CAN PAY YOU ON 8-27" - nothing she was going to say can change the fact that I have no money. She was horrible, it was horrible. This sort of stuff has gone on throughout the duration of my loan, but was today was bad. REALLY BAD. Please dont use Wells Fargo Auto for your car loans. Its just not worth it.

I am having a problem with someone in this division. I know that I am behind in my payments. This indivisual is nasty and does not seem to want to listen. I talked to him today to let him know that I have mailed him a payment and half trying to bring my account up to date. With his nasty attitude he refuses to listen and made comments about my need for the car. With an attitude such as this you are going to loose more customers. I wanted to tell him that I was seeking other sources to pay this car off but he made me mad and I ended the confersation. He then immediately call back to speak to another person and gave a specific time. He and his attitude is the reason why my bank accout had to be closed. This he wanted to know but I didn't tell him.
In the past my family was customers of Wachovia but after this type of behavior and attitiude we will not use it.
This is the 2nd time that I e-mail your division( without MAC) idenification. The family member can't be reached that was called and does't have anything to do with payment. I have reached out to the person to try to bring my payment up to date but he has made up his mind. What can be done about this type of treatment

Los Angeles county issued a $3500. exempt hold/lein order on my bank account. Result: $100. legal fee. The instructions issued included: Withhold any any all assets exceeding $3500. in value. Deposits in financial institutions, including IRA's, SEP's, rents and on and on. If these funds include any monies from Social Security or Supplemental Security Income Please contact us immediately. For the last several years the only deposits made to my bank account is the direct deposit by SS. There are 2/3 debits outstanding. The bank freezes my account, pays the outstanding debits, credits my account with $25. overdraft fees.
The legal department (finally contacted, call waiting 1st 38min, 2nd 52min, 3rd 35min) is busy and after their acknowledgement of error advised me to contact WFB consumer help line for reversal of late fees ($25.), they didn't have the authority for such services. The over draft fees are wrong, the legal fees, I'll have to assume (the gov'ts are in a hurry for monies). They are WRONG. Unfortunately the economy doesn't accomodate retired carpenters and has no handy work to augment my income.

Wells Fargo has hired this company Pinnacle Financial to negotiate on their behalf. They fired them w/o informing us. Now we are ready to close escrow and their new company Enhanced Recovery Corporation is saying the amount of compensation is too low and there is no negotiating it. We had the payout increased by 65%, but they still refused it.
Wells Fargo has this collection company collecting for them. When we talk to Wells they say it is up to their collector (ERC) to accept the offer. When we talk to ERC they say it is Wells that has to accept the offer. This has been going on for over a month. We were suppose to close escrow the first week of July. Now its 8/3/10 and we don’t have agreement with Wells Fargo has yet.
Mean while the buyers are loosing their loan lock, and their lives are being held up. Our realtor is giving part of his commission toward some unpaid property taxes and the buyers are chipping in as well toward that. And that is because the bank would not pay those taxes.
We have invested over $275K (our savings and investment money) into this property and are losing every bit of it. For the past three years our financial situation has been devastated. Being realtors we have basically lost our job and been living off what ever little saving we had left and by selling our personal belongs. Loosing our home to short sale or foreclosure has been devastating for us. They claim to want to help save our home but when it really comes to help they refuse to. There are just messing with our lives.
Please kindly address this situation.

auto loan paid off, title not received
I got a loan on my car from Wells Fargo Financial. Three years after I finished paying it off, I still haven't received the title to the vehicle. They sent me a check because I overpaid on my last payment, so it's obviously paid off, but no title. I go into the DMV, they say I have to go the bank. I went to the bank twice and they finally sent me a document "Lien Satisfied / Title Holder Release" but they didn't sign it or notarize it. Their office is in Philadelphia, PA but they typed Philadelphia, CA on the form. What's up with these people?
I go into the DMV again, hoping it can be taken care of electronically. No, they told me I have to go back to the bank and get it signed and notarized. The only way to find out what I have to do next is to go into the DMV and wait for an hour to talk to someone. Now I have to go back to the bank for the third time and after that back to the DMV again (third time). Then, it will take two weeks for the title to be sent to me from Sacramento.
Is it really so unusual to finish paying off an auto loan? Why is this so hard?
This bank deserves to fail. I sure hope my tax dollars didn't contribute to a bailout for Wells Fargo. They suck.

The government needs to put a clamp on these #! They are screwing their customers left and right!
I am convinced that their software is specifically written to delay deposits, put larger debits first, etc all in order to nail you with overdraft fees, and these fees are outrageous! This is a crime! I'll be running low, I check my account several times daily, and i'll deposit cash, checks whatever, and suddenly, they post all the debits first, starting with the largest, and then post my deposit, so they can # me over!
Apparently i'm not the only one, I have seen many many hundreds of complaints from others.
Stealth Pilot, You're an idiot. I DO deposit first. The bank seems to hold deposits when it benefits them, apply the LARGEST debit (no matter the order in which it was made), first, guaranteeing that they will beed my for every penny when they get the small transactions for a couple of dollars, and charge $35.00 EACH!
It's ###ing THEFT.
And OBVIOUSLY I'm not the only one because there are thousands of complaints about this, litigation being considered, and the federal government is looking into it as well.
It's funny, because when I didn't use a bank, I had no problem, when I used strictly PayPal, I had no problem, my Morgan Stanley account never has issues like this, it's only WELLS ###ING FARGO.

I'm currently going through the same issue with them. I had money in my account and now I'm in the negative even though I haven't made a purchase in three days. I called and they said it was from a purchase four days ago even though the purchase was less than what I had in my account. I argued my case and they gave me the run around. Then they tried to get me to sign up for a credit card lol. I'll be switching banks today on my lunch break. This is the second time this has happened and I'm done with wells Fargo and bank of America. I'll be trying the delta credit union out.
disqualification ploy for a mortgage modification
make a long story short..Wells Fargo Financial has disqualified me from mortgage modification..their reps tell me I've another home mortgage with Wells Fargo Mortgage..which I don't..a Capital One Card..which I don't..an Bank America Card..which I don't..and none of these folks..(and several others I've run down)..know me..my SS #..or can see any of the info Wells Fargo Financial sees..my credit has been frozen for sometime now..This is a ploy to discourage, delay and disqualify me from them having to modify my loan.I owe twice as much as my home is now worth.I have filed a complaint with the BBB..what else can I do? I want to do the right thing.It seems they want me to walk away from this home.

Understand- we have similar problem. Wells Fargo gave us loan a few years on our house telling us to take the higher interest and let our home and credit values increase. In two to three years we would be able to get another loan. We just paid $450 (that we really didn't have) to get a new appraisal and now are told that our home is wroth about $30, 000 less than it was on our first loan. We pay about $1000 on just interest and only about $200 on the principal and have been paying fro almost 4 years...I HATE WELLS FARGO and would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

It seems after at least 20 years, (30 if you count the take over acquisitions in the 80s and 90s); WF put a $3.50 charge on my account for "monthly check image fee". When I called the 1-800 customer service line to remove the charge, the agent said it would be only for one time...

My debit card was pre-authorized by Priceline three times in error (for an expensive international flight), tying up my entire bank account so that none of my funds would be available for several days. All it would have taken to resolve was for a Wells Fargo representative to make a phone call to Priceline to release the funds - they refused and were extremely condescending in the process. I am in the financial services industry and deal with consumer banks all the time - these types of calls are commonplace for many other banks. I have had my account with Wells Fargo for over 20 years, but was told that this type of service is only provided for merchant accounts (i.e. "we don't care about individual consumers").
I was treated very poorly by Wells Fargo as well.Horrible, horrible customer service skills. I was insulted by a representative then when I called back to ask for a supervisor I was lectured for being rude! They both said they did not have supervisors and refused to put one on the line with me! I too have had an account with them for over 15 years.Lousy, lousy! my grandmother had a similar situation with wells fargo. She had to re mortgage the house a few years back since my grandfather had a stroke and was unable to work again. They owed less then 30 thousand on the home they had been paying there mortgage on time everymonth but when the payments were sent in they held them and took a month to a month in a half to post them to the account obviously accumulating late fees that shouldn't have been there. Then to make things even more fun, every month they paid with money orders since they began the mortgage they sent back 6 money orders with a letter stating that they would not be accepting any more personal checks from her. Glad to know they don't know the difference between money orders and personal checks. For the past 5 months they have been sending the money into what they call a suspense account and threatened to foreclosure and gave her less then a month to come up with 1900 dollars that she had already paid. these people are crooks and want nothing more but to take peoples homes when they owe so little on the house. Good luck trying to call one will tell you what you wanna hear then shortly after if you need to call back the next person doesnt have a clue what the previous had said then they end up ###ting you to the point of cursing them out and hanging up. These people are for one idiots. two obviously doing illegal things we had a friend of the family who is a lawyer look it over and say what there doing is punishable buy federal law. I suggested a reverse mortgage to my grandmother and we had gone and went through with it and things are fine now we had to do what it took to get a way from these idiotic ###s and will highly suggest for anyone considering to buy a new home or get any kind of anything with these people to turn and run. I suggest the only reason you call them is to tell them how much they are heartless jerk offs and that they should all have there homes and payments screwed with so they can feel the stress that so many people go through. They say my escrow will be short by 5 dollars in November so they raised my house payment 30 dollars a month. They are crooks and theives. A rep lied to me in the fall and said if I'd send the 400. they said I was short at that time, that they wouldn't raise my payment. If we had a government worth 2 cents, something would be done about the crooked banks and wall street theives.

We fell behind on our auto loan, and wells fargo repossesed our vehicle. We had to come up with $1, 900 to reinstate the loan, which was sent by moneygram to them on a Friday morning. We have to pay an additional $25 a day in storage fees. When the car was repossesed, I contacted them and have been working on this for over 5 days, they have their money, I don't have my car and I now owe $150 in storage fees. Because of an error in wells fargo sending the release fax to the wrong phone number, there will be another day of storage fees assesed. They showed absolutely no concern for their mistake, put no effort in to helping us get our car back in a timely manner, and were all around rude and difficult to work with. At one point an employee told me, "if I show you compassion, I have to show everyone compassion..." That statement basically sums up the service provided by wells fargo. I urge anyone of you reading this that may have a vehicle financed by wells fargo to strongly reconsider, no vehicle is worth the amount of aggravation this company has caused us.

wells fargo dealer services is the most inhumane company to deal with, over 30 mins on hold each call, not one person in the company willing to help resolve your issues, and just plain inept.
Northwest Corporation, or Wells Fargo, as they prefer to be known, offers sub-prime auto loans at a discount rate to those with recently discharged bankruptcies. Their intent is not to assist borrowers in rebuilding credit, but rather to be there when they stumble. Considering a person has to wait 8 years between bankruptcies and that most obtained a vehicle loan out of necessity, they make for great prey – doing anything to salvage their credit and only vehicle. That makes for the perfect borrower!
They’re as mean and nasty a corporation as I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with and if you fall behind in payments they will NOT work with you. Remember, that’s not their goal. They will harass you—calling you up to 5 times per day at home or at your office. They will initiate unauthorized withdrawals from your account even if you tell them you’re currently homeless. The nasty, demeaning and intimidating messages they leave will always concern something “urgent” which requires your “immediate” attention. The tonality and intensity will NEVER change -- whether you’re 2 days late or 90… even up to the point when they repossess your vehicle without warning after you’ve made a recent payment.
I have experienced this first hand and after some research see I’m not alone.
This company’s mortgage branch recently settled out of court for their predatory lending practices and it seems they’ve just shuffled their upper management a bit.
So, if you’re in the process of looking for a lender, avoid them like the creepy guy standing next to your vehicle in a dark parking lot. If you’ve already got a loan with them, woe be onto ye who fall behind. To them you are but a target…. a quota… a mark.
I'm going through the same ordeal they never notified me that my car was out for repo i sent them there money like promised and these snakes have my money and my car no one will work with me . i have turned them into the attorney general and i have contacted an attorney . they are also trying to charge me for everyday my car is being held . I originally posted 147 days ago under the name "Consumer Patriot". I decided to focus my time and energy on trying to end my relationship with Wachovia (now part of Wells Fargo). They finally gave me a payoff amount. It took an accountant I know, and very roughly 40 hours of work including phone calls, preparing correspondance, administrative and travel to finalize this loan and transfer it to a smaller lender.

Wells Fargo, along with Chase (part of JP Morgan), Bank of America, and HSBC should be boycotted. These international banks are wrecking the US among other things, but that's a different topic. Back on the topic, in my experience and from what I've heard from friends, they also overcharge relative to smaller banks on fees and interest. They're also horrible in customer service.
Solution: Fight these banks with a good defense. Keep up on your payments, defend vigorously defend yourself against collections, and MOVE YOUR CHECKING, SAVINGS, AND LOANS ELSEWHERE! Use a local bank instead. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. GET A LOAN FROM A RELATIVE-WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO. YOU'RE A FOOL IF YOU USE WACHOVIA / WELLS FARGO, CHASE BANK, BANK OF AMERICA, or HSBC. Don't say you weren't warned.
I am also a Wells Fargo customer with an auto loan thats only one month past due. If they really want to take my car after I have called the account manager over and over trying to make arrangements to pay over a two week period to catch up on payments. The only response I got was that she wouldn't be able to keep the loan in good standing. I have witnessed many repossessions and none were actually done until the loan was at least two months past due. These people are predators and someone really wants to teach these people a lesson about predatory lending. Yes, this is still going on today. I really don't like people who try to muscle others for money. I hope that I'm not the only one show going to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

I have a loan with Wells Fargo. Of course, like all corporations, they want and try to get as much information as possible from you. I always like now when you call most loan companies with automated messages: They usually say something like "This message may be recorded for quality purposes". Do quality purposes include legal purposes? Do quality purposes included low-quality purposes, like rude aholes coercing information out of you so they can harass you at work, a relative's house or home every day with the same questions? Does quality include withholding info you need to pay your account while they hire a repo man as soon as legally possible?
I will now expose Well's Fargo's swindling ways: I've had a car loan from them for years. I recently ran behind on payments. I called to get the full payoff amount. It seems that if you pay late, you cannot get automated information (red flag number 1). The robot sends you to the customer service people. Customer service answers and they demand again your account number. I asked for a pay-off amount. They got out of me account, name, address, but when they asked phone number, they went beserk and forwarded me to a manager. I tried this twice just to see if this is protocol-it is.
The "managers" will not give the pay-off amount either. They both tried to extract information from me, to which I replied that I gave them information. On the second try I tried to get the pay-off amount at least 4 times. He said that he needs to get my account current before he gives that to me. I replied "So you need a little money first, then a lot of money?" sarcastically. He said no (and what he meant was information about where I live and such), but continued like an imbecilic robot trying to threaten repossession and such.
The scam is obvious: Wells Fargo wants 1) you to continue to pay monthly payments, paying interest on your loan along with any late fees, OR 2) they want to repossess your car. Wells Fargo does NOT want to give you the payoff amount. I saw a different complaint about trouble getting a payoff amount on these boards. Good skill. Don't give them information. Any more problems and I will report them to the FTC and BBB. You should too, but don't rely on me. It takes several of us can do some damage.
