This site is just a poor attempt at fraud. They have no books, do not order books, they have no products at all. They have set up multiple online accounts to make it look legitimate so you believe it long enough to give them your money. This begins an endless loop of automated responses for non-existent customer service. They're just skating by collecting money hoping that no-one goes through the process of pressing charges. Someone needs to do something about this. I made the mistake of not doing any research before buying as I was in a tight spot and needed something ASAP for a family member's birthday and did it in between appointments at work as fast as I could. Steer clear, hopefully people will get together on this and shut these clowns down.

I ordered a book on November 9th for a Christmas Present. On November 29th I canceled the order because *** Books told me that the publisher is printing me my own special copy just for me. It will be free from finger prints and defects. What a bunch of c*** On February 14th 2022 they sent me an e-mail wanting me to confirm my cancelation. Which I did immediately. Another bunch of c*** On April 1st 2022 the book showed up on my door step. *** Books does not accept returns unless the product is damaged. Now I have 2 copies of this $100.00 book and they wont take it back for credit. *** Books business practices are HORRIBLE and so is there customer service. This business is a total scam. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.
I ordered a book in Feb 2022 that their website said was in stock. They said it was on backorder and couldn't fill the order. Book is actually out of print and they expected me to wait for the publisher to put it back in print. I asked for a refund in July and they offered to give store credit or pay through Zelle. It is now end of November 2022 and I have not received my refund. This is a scam and I recommend everyone to stay the f away.
Zero Stars! I was also scammed. They kept saying the book was with the publisher for printing but the books never arrived. I finally cancelled the order and they never refunded my card. They kept trying to give me credit for a future purchase--ridiculous when they couldn't fulfill the first order. Terrible that they are allowed to continue when they have this many negative reviews! I still haven't gotten a refund.

I ordered and paid in December and the book never arrived. *** spent the last nine months trying to get the book and finally gave up. They told me the Special Order was waiting to finish printing and would take extra time and was being made exclusively for me. Finally I asked for a refund and they agreed to send a check, but never did. They dont deserve any stars.
I agree with all past reviewers. This place doesnt even deserve a star. Same problem everyone has had. Ordered some books. Months passed. Kept saying theyre being printed and will have a ship date. So they basically kept pushing it back and back and back. I finally had had it and asked for a refund. They actually said okay. But then 3 weeks passed an no refund. My order status said it had been cancelled, but again, no refund. Up until I asked for a refund, I had gotten responses from my emails. Then the question of my refund? Crickets. Never heard from them again. Filed with my credit card company to get my money back. Now on a mission to warn others to STAY AWAY!

AS of Dec 16 NOTHING. There is no phone number. Too bad, as I wanted to support a women's own book store. If you don't have a book in stock then don't say you do. I ordered h*** paradise manga from them in april. I then took 4 months to get my refund. They wouldnt answer emails and only refunded me after i threatened to report them.

Unbelievable awful customer service. They completely ignored me when I asked for updates on an order that should have shipped within the week but hadnt been processed for 3 weeks. I opened a credit card dispute and they finally reached out accusing me of being a bad customer even though they never communicated with me. I retracted the dispute and the waited nearly a year for a book they claimed was backordered. Decided to email them and cancel the order, instead they brought up that I disputed them and since it was resolved theyd now ship out the book. I immediately said no, I want to cancel and they ignored me AGAIN and just shipped me the book I no longer needed. I immediately messaged again and told them to cancel the label since it was still in pre-shipment status and they told me once they start the shipping process, they cant cancel. Just absolutely worthless as a business, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Wish I could give negative stars.

After purchasing the books, they were not received in the timeframe stated. we reached out to the company via email since they do not have a phone number listed in their website to request the status of the books. 3 other emails were sent with no response. It wasnt until a dispute was filed with or credit card vendor that she finally reached out. She was then incredibly unprofessional in the email saying that we were stealing the books because we received one book out of the three we ordered. We called the credit card company to stop the dispute. We were told that she needed to respond to the case through the *** network to stop the dispute. She did not so the dispute went through sucessfully and we got our money back. She then sends a follow up email telling us to return the books or pay for the books again or she will file charges of theft. Completely unprofessional. I will be writing a review anywhere I can about this place to help other could be customers from wasting their time and money here
AWFUL- what everyone else says is true, this company is a scam. They charged my card, never sent an email confirmation and a month later when the book had not shipped, I emailed for a refund. It has been a week now since they let me know I could get a refund or store credit and still not refund confirmation. Thankfully I am able to dispute the charge on my credit card but based on this company ONLY having negative reviews, all the same, that people are not receiving merchandise they should be shut down for fraud. What's worse is they somehow come up on the top *** searches when you look up a book so they seem to be tricking a lot of people which is awful. Why is this company still allowed to sell if they are scamming every customer?

I ordered some manga from this site about a year ago, and I haven't received them, thank god I used Paypal when I ordered them. I ordered on July 7, and it is now September 9, 2022. I spent $28.90 on this site, and I never even got a tracking number, so it was apparent after a while that they would never send the items. Just use Paypal whenever you buy something from sites you have never used before. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM *** BOOKS; IT IS A SCAM!
I ordered a book In September for a Christmas gift for my granddaughter, never received said book until September 2022. I sent a request to send the book back for a refund and was rejected. I had not received an email of confirmation that the book had been shipped over ten days after placing my order and sent an email asking about my order. I did receive a reply saying it could take up to 10 days to ship. Well, it had been over 10 days and doubting they even had the book in stock, I let them know I wanted to cancel the order and received this ridiculous reply from them: "Hello there, I have great news! I just wanted to let you know that your order has been placed on special order with the publisher! This means that your order has been received and is now being processed, but may experience extended wait times as the printing process happens! As it happens, your order is very popular and needs to be created just for you! It may take longer, but the books are fresh for you and free of finger smudges!" I replied to them that no publisher is going to reprint a copy of a ***and that after reading reviews of their company here at the ComplaintsBoard.com website, I now know that they are scamming me and I want a refund. I did get a reply that my refund would have to be processed and after one week I have yet to get my refund. I have sent emails with no reply from them. I have doubts I will hear back from them or get my refund. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID this company.

I requested a cancelation of my order on Nov. 8, 2021, to no avail. On Nov 9th *** Books responded "As per checking, your order is currently in processing. Kindly be reminded that in some cases, it can take up to 10 days. The *** is not yet available to advise at this time, but we give you our assurance that a status update will be provided once the order has advanced." I told them that if I didn't have an update by Nov 19 please cancel my order. I did not receive a response. On Dec 9 I asked for an update since I received one of the four books in my order. On Dec 11th I asked to cancel the three undelivered books. I received two more books from my order and finally get a response on Feb 19th in regards to the last book in my order "Please know that your remaining order has been received by the publisher and is on special order waiting to finish printing. This means that though it may be taking some extra time, your order is being made exclusively for you. I dont have an *** at the moment but I will update your order as soon as more information is available. Please advise if you are still willing to wait or you'd like to proceed with the cancellation. " I responded to cancel immediately since I had already purchased the book elsewhere. On Feb 20th they told me they were processing the cancelation. One month later March 21st, 2022 they tell me the cancelation was not processed because my orders were now being shipped. Please think twice before purchasing from this bookstore.

I had to send a frustrated email 3 times before I received a generic response from a Do Not Reply email. It appears to be the string along type of service where you are charged and then receive a series of automated ( horribly corny) "update" emails that have no useful information such as order status or tracking that serve only to keep you thinking progress is made while buying the "seller" time to hold the money.I called the phone # on this page and received a generic voice message for the business, but no one ever called back. I then called the phone number that appeared on my billing statement, only to hear a voicemail from a rude woman stating " THIS IS NOT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE VOICEMAIL FOR ***"...I quite literally received an email today in response to my third inquiry that told me my order was being "special ordered" from the publisher so that it would be fresh off the printing press...seriously? Alright then. I just had to get myself a new debit card issued because they now have my number and my bank is disputing the charge. I went to type in "*** books" to check order status, when my heart sank as I read suggestions, "*** Books scam" "Is *** books legit?" I immediately clicked and I find plethora of stories complaining about this company. I ordered 2 children's books. Truck books for my little boys. One is Little Blue truck beep-along book. The other is Construction Site Demolition Site (I might be miswording the title) The 1st book for a couple months was difficult to come by, even 2nd hand. I checked Amazon, thriftbooks, secondsale, etc; Suddenly, upon searching, I find *** books who seems to have a good stock of this book. Immediately, without questioning or hesitation, I place an order. Because I wanted to take advantage of free shipping over $25, I add in another book. The second book is $5 more than what Amazon sells it for, but in the name of free shipping LOL. All because my 4 year old has been asking and asking for Little Blue beep along. And my 20 month old adores Little Blue as well. I want this for my boys for Christmas. I placed the order on Oct 28. Nothing for a couple weeks. I've reached out a few times, and Joy of *** responded each time, contrary to other reviews I've found. Others couldnt get a hold of anyone, fortunately I did not have this problem. Finally, part of my order was shipped. The Demolition construction book. I started reading that scammers sometimes create fake shipping labels so I was still hesitant. Correct title, etc; I'm shocked that I received anything from this company LOL I'm still waiting on the Beep Along blue truck. Her response was pretty vague and generic, saying this title is very popular and they're working hard to get it to me ASAP. If this is a scam company, I will only be out $12. In summary, I don't think this site is a scam, but I do think they're disheveled and disorganized, they need to fix the way they operate their business. Keep their customers posted, adjust products to reflect accurate stock, etc; I read somewhere else that their email responses are unprofessional. I agree, I ended up getting the same copy paste email about how they are contacting the publisher to get finger print free books, it does seem a bit odd. Would I do business with them again? Probably not, unless they make serious changes to the way they operate.

I ordered Diego Rivera: The Complete Murals in January of 2021, more than 2.5 years ago, and have yet to received it. At first, a customer service representative told me Taschen was in the process of reprinting it, which was true. But, I have seen for awhile now that Taschen has successfully reprinted it because it is available on their website. But, I have not heard from anyone at Wildman’s Books in years, despite multiple efforts to get in touch with them.

It is currently 8/23 8PM EST and I have still not had any correspondence. The order was placed via my PayPal account and they have already taken my money. FYI, the order number is ***. The particular book I wanted is no longer in print so I know that they lied to me when they said they would be placing an order directly with the publisher--that's not now book publishing works. Clearly they never had the book in stock in the first place. I emailed back asking for a refund (I would have called, but their number is nowhere on their website or social media. the only way you can communicate with them is via email.) This company is running a fairly common book scam that I have seen before. The company lists and item as available and after collecting funds from the customer they advise the product is being procured directly from the publisher. Which, is not true. Very often this comes with a very large wait time. The company in question is merely searching other online vendors for the book so they can purchase for a slightly lower price than what they have listed. The book ships to them, company then ships "customer". The company has advised my order can take up to 16 weeks, (not listed in the items sale description) to arrive. After purchasing, I found out there was a lawsuit going on between the author and *** and all books had been removed. On 1/30, I emailed Wildman’s customer service to state that they should not advertise books that are not in stock without explicitly stating they will be custom ordered. On 1/30 I received a response from *** stating they had the books and they would ship 2/2. Come 2/2, I received an email that they were “custom ordering” my books from the publisher. I emailed back to state that I had talked with the author and the publisher was no longer able to print the books and requested a refund. On 2/7 they got back to me and said the books would ship 2/14 and asked if I’d still like a refund. I stated I did, after all the reviews and complaints I’d seen, I knew I wasn’t getting these books. I have followed up with an email a day since and have not heard back from their customer service again since requesting the refund.

I was informed that it was back ordered and it would take time for them to get one from the publisher. I wa sunderstanding and waited. A couple of months went by and I found the book locally. When I replied that I had moved and the previous address was no longer valid I did not recieve an email back. Of course, I never got an answer or my books. I can see from their reviews on ComplaintsBoard.com that everyone else is dealing with these same issues. They are a fraudulent company.
I special ordered a book in Novemeber 2021. The book never came. I've been trying to get a refund for my order for well over a month. They're now saying they cannot refund my original payment method and will send me a check in the mail. No check has arrived.
I made an online purchase for a book on 12/12/22. I noticed that the order was delayed in processing and was not scheduled to ship in a timely manner so I requested for cancellation numerous times via email and via phone. Then on 12/15/22 AFTER I requested cancellation and a refund I was notified that a special order was placed with the publisher. I contacted the merchant again and requested cancellation and she would NOT take NO for an answer. She is insistent that it will ship within 10 days and I said it's too late. She stopped responding. I also read all the online reviews and the business is a SCAM. I would like them investigated for their business practices. And have a cancellation of order and my money refunded.

I responded that same day, November 28th, requesting a cancellation, a confirmation, and a refund of the amount that I had already been charged for the order ***. After not receiving a response, I sent another email on December 1 again requesting a cancellation, a confirmation, and a refund for the amount I was charged for order ***. I placed an order for a book (that I have since discovered is out of print) September 11 and my credit card was charged right away. Most business do not charge until they process/ship your order. After not receiving an email that my order was processing and about to ship, I emailed the company to request a status update and received an automatic reply that my request has been received and is being reviewed. I requested an update 3 times with no response. It wasn't until I opened an new request ticket for a refund on October 25,2021 that a received a response to on October 27. The response stated that they were receiving a high number of tickets and were short staffed. It also indicated that my order was sent to the publisher and they were printing an exclusive copy just for me. I am not aware of this being normal practice for publishers and feel that I have been scammed. Because too much time has now passed my credit card company will not reverse the charge. While I feel I have been scammed out of $21.76, it really is the principle of the matter. Most businesses provide updates when there are delays to processing/shipping your orders so you know what is going on. This company just takes your money and ignores you.

I placed an order through my debit card for two books on 3/6/22 online on the Wildman's Books website. The cost was $35.55. My order number was ***. On 6/17/22 I reached out to *** because my order was never fulfilled. I was told that my order was on special order and waiting to finish printing. I was told they did not have an ETA for when this would occur. I waited until 8/9/22 and then sent another e-mail to customer service asking what was going on and for a refund. I was told they would send me a refund via check. I did not receive a check. I emailed on 11/18/22 again asking for a refund. I confirmed that they had the correct address on file. When I asked about getting a refund via the card used for the purchase I was told "we are unable to refund this order to the original card used." I do not know if that is because I had updated my card number since then or they just refused to refund via my card. I could have given them a new number if my card was incorrect. They did not offer this and I did not ask as I was not sure I could trust them with my info. It is now 1/27/23. I never received a refund. There are multiple complaints about this exact issue on their ComplaintsBoard.com page. I have e-mailed them again but I do not expect things to go any differently. I believe this company may be a scam.

I requested a refund for the third time. 2/10/2022 I get an email from Wildman’s saying my order has been "completely fulfilled" I have still not received Graffiti New York…$32.36 or received a refund or acknowledgement on how to return the incorrect book that was sent to me in December 2/10/2022 I emailed Wildman’s yet again telling you I have not received the book Graffiti New York…$32.36. 2/15/2022 I sent another email requesting a refund and filed this complaint with ComplaintsBoard.com

Placed an order last week. Received no email updates since I placed the order. I sent an email to check on the progress of my order because I needed it by next week. I ordered in plenty of time to have it by next week. I received an email that I have attached saying that my ORDER (not some, not part but MY ORDER: that part is important)had to be ordered from the publisher so it was going to result in a delay. I notify the seller that this was not going to work. No where did it show or state that the books weren’t in stock. I immediately filled out the form on the website to cancel the order since the ORDER had to be ordered from the publisher. I also messaged the seller on Instagram. Then they say that two of the three books are able to be sent and only one had to be ordered from the publisher. The email said the ORDER not just one book or a part of the order was delayed so I ordered from *** so I could get them in time. They claim that they can not refund my order because it’s “moving through their system “ whatever that means but nothing has shipped and looking at the multitude of reviews from people who have waited months or received nothing. I will be notifying my bank and New Mexico attorney generals office so they can look at this companies businesses practices. Such a shame trying to support a small women business and still ended up at Barnes and Noble. Their Instagram comments are also in shambles with similar complaints. I would like a full refund.

On February 26,2022 I ordered a book from Wildman's Books ***. They charged my *** account on February 27, 2022 in the amount of $17.77. I have not received the book and sent them many emails requesting the status of the order. The first email was March 12, 2022 and their response was they are following up on the order and placed on special order status. I again sent an email on May 26, 2022 stating that if they could not supply the book then I wanted my money refunded. I heard nothing from them. On September 12, 2022 I sent them another email stating I wanted my money back but that my *** account was closed so they would have to send me a check. Their response was one of asking me how i wanted the refund. I repeated my previous request for a check since my *** account is closed. They said on September 17, 2022 they would expediate my refund request and send out a check as soon as they are able. I heard nothing more from them and no check. I wrote again on October 17, 2022 telling them to give me my money back. Their response was "We are unable to refund this order to the original card used. We will mail a check to you, at the billing address on file, as soon as we can." I wrote back on October 18, 2022 demanding my money back. It is now December 1 and I am still without my money. This is now beyond outrageous and I have no options since my credit card account was closed and I am at their mercy to get my refund in a check. They never should have charged my account since they did not have the book I ordered.

I was more than happy to support a small business so I ordered a book from Wildman's as a Christmas gift for my nephew at the beginning of November to allow for plenty of time to get to me before the holidays. About a week later, they sent an email saying the book was out of stock and would need to wait for a reprint at the publisher. I was completely ok with that as long as they could assure me it'd get here by Christmas, so I waited patiently for a month and then reached out via email to check on the status and never got a response. Sent a message through their web page and got no response. Then contacted them via their Facebook page and finally got their attention, probably because it is public-facing. They told me there were no guarantees for Christmas delivery and that they could cancel and refund my order, no problem. I said yes, please do so. A day later I received an email asking if I was absolutely sure I wanted to cancel my order... and although it was a bit frustrating because I already told them yes, I said yes again, and informed them I had just ordered the book from somewhere else because I thought my order was already cancelled after they asked the first time. They said no problem and that it would be done. So then a few days later I get an email saying they can't cancel my order because it was shipped. The shipping date was AFTER they agreed to a cancel and a refund. I clicked on the shipping link they sent me and it was just a label that was created and it's been in stasis like that ever since. It's pretty awful that they never cancelled my order and are holding my money hostage with a shipping label that was created but is not yet in the USPS system. Please, someone just cancel my order and send me my money back and I promise I will never contact or order from this company ever again and we can all move on with more important things in our lives.

On Oct. 3, 2021, I ordered ***, Vol. 6 from Wildman's Books (***). My credit card was charged the price of the book ($8.99), tax (.64) and shipping ($5.10). On Oct. 13, 2021, I received an email from this company explaining that my order had been placed on special order with the publisher and it was being processed, but may experience extended wait times as it will be printed "exclusively for me". It was also noted that "if this process was not to my satisfaction, they would gladly assist me with a cancelation". (Please note: nowhere did they mention that a store credit would be the only form of refund given.) This book was to be a Christmas gift for my grandson and on Nov. 1st I sent an email inquiring as to an estimated delivery date. Their response was dated Nov. 11th and stated that an exact ETA was not available, but they'd keep me updated as they received updates from the publisher. On Mar. 5, 2022, I sent them an email requesting to cancel the order and have a credit issued to my credit card. Their reply dated Mar. 16th informed me that they were processing my request and would let me know once it was completed. On April 20th I sent another email, wondering why the cancelation and credit were taking so long and on April 27th I was informed that they would only offer a store credit as a refund. I replied that a store credit would not be acceptable and I wanted a credit issued against my credit card. On April 28th I was told "we have taken note of your preferred method to receive the refund and will be processing it soon". On May 4th I asked when I would be seeing the credit and I was told that "once the credit/refund has been issued, we shall send out a communication". That was the last email correspondence I received from them. They have ignored my emails dated June 14th and July 3rd. Had I known up front that this book was not in stock, I would never have placed the order.

Order total: $29.81. 2/19 Received email that order had been sent to the publisher for processing because it was special. Game never arrived. 3/21/2022 Emailed Wildman's that game never arrived; received response from *** same day saying she could not give me an ETA on my order but would keep my ticket open and alert the shipping team. She gave me a coupon code for 5% off my next order. 9/5/2022 Emailed ***, stating since her response in March 2022 I had not heard anything further on my order and, since this was intended as a Christmas 2021 present and we are approaching the 2022 season, I wanted the order cancelled and a full refund for the purchase applied to the credit card used at the time of purchase. 9/9/2022 Received email from *** apologizing for delayed response, blamed it on changes in customer support staff, and stating that "you book" is ready to ship if I wanted to proceed with the order. 9/10/2022 Emailed ***, thanked him for his response and again asked for a full refund to my credit card. I told him my bank would be in touch if the money was not refunded in a timely manner. 9/13/2022 *** responded they were sorry I wished to cancel my order but they understand their "wait times can be too long for some folks" and I had 2 refund options: store credit plus 7% discount or refund of purchase amount. 9/13/2022 Responded "I would like the total amount of this purchase credited back to the credit card used to make the purchase in December ". 9/17/2022 Received email from *** thanking me for my kind words (?) and telling me my refund approval process had been expedited and they would mail a check to me as soon as they were able. 9/19/2022 Emailed *** for verification of address they were mailing check to. 9/2 *** replied they "are sending check to the mailing address that we have on file". 11/5/2022 No refund.

If you are reading this I implore you to believe all the negative reviews. I fell into the same trap that everyone else did where I ordered a book. They charged my credit card and then they said it was not in stock and would place a special order with no expected fulfillment timeline. Since I needed the book asap I asked them for a cancellation and refund. You can likely guess what happened after. Needless to say they stopped responding after numerous follow *** and I had to file a fraud dispute claim through my credit card to try and get my money back. Shame on me for not researching this business before ordering from them but shame on them, the owners, for consistently trying to scam people and run an operation that has no regard for customer service and no desire to try and do the right thing for their customers.
I hope you are reading this BEFORE you placed your order! Sadly I didn't look up this business prior to giving them my credit card. Believe everyone of the 1 star reviews you read. They charge your card immediately! They DO NOT email you a receipt or contact you in any way regarding your order. Finally, after a month of not hearing anything and not getting my book (Japanese Joinery) I emailed to ask what the issue was. I was told that same story as many others on this website, that it was a "special order" being printed just for me, and that it would take an unspecified amount of time for me to get it. I said no thank you, only because I had looked them up at this point and saw how they were giving me the same line as others who had waited many more months only to have nothing show up. So I asked for my money back, they replied they would process it, however it might take "some time." That was 6 weeks ago. I just filed a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back. They are no longer returning my emails and I still don't have my money back. The fact that their highest rating is 2 stars (only 2 of those) and the other 91 reviews are all 1 stars (only because 0 isn't an option) should tell you everything that you need to know. This place is either a scam or incompetent!
I, too, have been scammed. What is especially egregious is that one of the books donates proceeds to Holocaust survivors fund. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Zeor stars but there is a forced choice to choose at least 1.
Ordered a book 4months ago, 11-12-2022. They took my money and no word since then. Scammers. I would give them less than a 1 rating if it would allow me too.
