I bought a new camper from Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc
I bought a new camper from Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc. in April . Unfortunately, the stainless steel refrigerator I received was defective. I requested a replacement with another stainless steel refrigerator of the same brand and quality, as that's what I paid for. However, they refused to fulfill my request.

On April 20, me and my husband signed a purchase contract and put down $2,000.00 on a camper at Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc. We were excited to get our camper, but unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID situation, we never received it. We were told that maybe next month we would finally get it.
Then, on October 4, we received a text from Wilkins informing us that the camper will be arriving. However, they also mentioned that due to an increase in manufacturing costs, the unit price will go up by $17,000.00. This was quite a shock to us because the contract clearly states that they cannot do this to us.
I've been calling Wilkins in Bath for about a month, leaving voicemails for Donna
I've been calling Wilkins in Bath for about a month, leaving voicemails for Donna. I even left a written message for Donna with the receptionist. We bought a camper from Wilkins in early 2019 and got a full 5-year warranty with it. We recently traded it in, so I cancelled my eagle warranty through United States Warranty Corporation. They told me they released the funds to Wilkins in Bath, Donna, for an amount of $1,434.69 on 6/1. I got an email confirmation from Caitlyn Rupnow, my contact at the warranty company, who I know has also been in touch with Donna about this. I'm just looking for a resolution to this and to get the money that is owed to us. Donna has all the information.

The slide out on my 2019 *** had jumped track 'cause there was somethin' stuck under one corner
The slide out on my 2019 *** had jumped track 'cause there was somethin' stuck under one corner. I went under the slide and checked out the gear boxes and gear arms. Ain't no visible damage to the gears or the teeth on the arms. Wilkins managed to fit me in for a diagnose of the slide out problem. They said the "CAUSE: TEETH ON GEAR PACK ARE WORN AS WELL AS THE INSIDE ARM W/TEETH CAUSING BINDING AND JUMPING". They told me they gotta "CORRECTION: NEED TO R&R BOTH ARMS AND GEAR PACKS 6 HRS". I found this diagnose mighty suspicious 'cause I had already looked at these parts myself. (I'm an auto mechanic, ya know). So, I decided to get a second opinion from another repair service. They fixed the slide out problem with just a few adjustments and retiming of the gear mechanisms. It only took 'em 1 1/2 hours of labor and they didn't need any new parts. They didn't find any damage or weird wear either. I reckon Wilkins just wants to make as much money as possible without carin' 'bout their customers. Why?
We recently bought an RV from Wilkins RV in Bath NY
We recently bought an RV from Wilkins RV in Bath NY. It was advertised with an outside grill. When we went to get it, there was no grill or spare tire. I can't believe they would sell one without a spare. We traveled 2 hours to get there, and what if we broke down? It came with a "standard" trailer hitch or weight distribution. It wasn't the right size and when my husband contacted them, they gave him a hard time. Now, my husband works on trailers so he knows all about this stuff and they treated him like he was dumb. I just feel if something is advertised, it should come with it. I was really hesitant to go to Wilkins RV because I heard nothing good about them, but it was the only place we found the RV we wanted. The salesperson we dealt with wasn't there on the day we picked it up, and we were told to go through her for any issues. Kind of crazy, since she never reached out to us until my husband called and complained.
I went to Wilkins Recreational Vehicles in Churchville, NY to check out a new RV
I went to Wilkins Recreational Vehicles in Churchville, NY to check out a new RV. I put down a $1000 dollar deposit on an RV and applied for financing on 11/1. The contract said the price was "contingency until Tuesday 11/3". They told me that if I didn't end up buying the RV, they would refund my deposit. I spent a whole week dealing with the business person at Wilkens and finally got a finance offer at an acceptable rate. I hadn't actually told them that I would buy the RV, just that I was thinking about it.
But then, I found a used RV at Meyers RVs with a better deal. So, on 11/16, I called my sales person at Wilkins and told them that I wasn't interested in the RV anymore. The Wilkens operator told me to call the Wilkins RV finance office in Bath NY about my deposit. I left a voice message and got a call back from Mr. Robert Moss at Wilkins Churchville office. He said that my deposit wasn't refundable because they had held the RV for over 2 weeks, and he considered it damages because they could have sold the RV during that time.
I tried to explain to Mr. Moss that I never actually committed to buying the RV. The deposit was just to keep the price "contingency until 11/3", and I was told that I would get a refund if I didn't end up buying the RV. But Mr. Moss didn't care about that. He said that because I signed a contract and didn't buy the RV, my deposit couldn't be refunded.
I bought a 2022 RV model from Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc
I bought a 2022 RV model from Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc. on 04/01/22. The pick-up date was scheduled for 04/09/22. However, when I first inspected the RV on 04/25, I noticed some damages. The double bunk board was cracked all the way across, and to my surprise, the queen bunk had a piece of flooring that was used to hide the cracked board. The canvas was attached with heavy-duty Velcro, but it came off from the supporting boards in several places when I took it down. It was clear that the RV had defects, and I was not happy about it.
I tried to return the RV and purchase something else, but the dealership refused to give me a full credit. Instead, they offered me a depreciated value, which was $3000 less than what I originally paid. They also refused to give me credit for the $2000 down payment. In the end, I had to put another $2000 down for my new deal. Overall, I lost over $5000 on a camper that I had only owned for less than two weeks. This amount includes the $2000 down payment and the loss on the previous loan due to depreciation.
Since the RV was defective from the beginning, I had no confidence in the product. I couldn't, in good conscience, keep the popup camper after experiencing these issues. Even though I had all applicable warranties, the RV was poorly made, and they essentially sold me a piece of junk. As a result, I ended up purchasing a 2022 RV from another dealer. I had multiple camping trips planned, and I needed a reliable RV.
I am disappointed that Wilkins Recreational Vehicles, Inc. did not stand behind their product or look out for me as a consumer. I hope you can understand my frustration and assist me in any way possible. In the future, I would appreciate being able to return or exchange any defective items I purchase. Losing some money is understandable, but losing $5000 is a significant loss for me. Please provide me with your advice and guidance.
On January 25, I signed a purchase agreement with Wilkins RV for a 2005 *** pop-up camper
On January 25, I signed a purchase agreement with Wilkins RV for a 2005 *** pop-up camper. The salesman told me that they would check everything to make sure it worked and was safe. We got the camper on 4/26 and found some problems. The fridge didn't work, the roof vent wouldn't close, and there was a big water leak. We took it back and they fixed the fridge and the roof vent. They said they fixed the water leak too. We asked to see if everything worked, but they didn't show us. We took it home and it still leaked a lot. We took it back again and they found a big split in the hot water tank. They replaced it and we got it back a third time. We set it up and tried the water heater, but it had a propane leak and caught on fire! It was really dangerous. We brought it back again and they fixed it, but they only hooked up the propane part of the water heater, not the electrical part. They said they only had to hook up the propane because the original heater was like that. It's not our fault they had to put in a better water tank. They should do the whole job. The mechanic and the guy at the counter acted like I was trying to get something for free. The camper caught on fire! We went to a dealer to avoid buying a bad camper.
I don't recommend going to Wilkins RV in Churchville
I don't recommend going to Wilkins RV in Churchville. Any of them, really, because even the owner isn't pleasant to deal with. We traded in our 2017 *** camper for a 2021 *** camper. They promised to deliver it by July 31st, but we didn't receive it until August 6th. And when we finally got it, the parts they promised (a power jack & aluminum steps) were missing. They also forgot to put light covers on the slide out lights. Service gave us $200 in store credit for a power jack, but they didn't honor the aluminum steps. On August 8th, during our first camping trip, we noticed a missing piece on the slide out, exposing the outside. They guaranteed to fix it by September 9th, but it still isn't fixed. Then on August 15th, we had massive water damage because they "forgot" to caulk around the hot water tank. Service fixed it, but they forgot to turn on our water, almost causing a hot water tank mishap. On September 19th, the grey water tank didn't hold water and now it's all throughout my camper. They said they're willing to fix it. I called Denise to express my problems and she wasn't very pleasant to speak to. I've heard multiple people complain about her being rude. I texted Rob (service manager) and his texts to a "customer" aren't welcoming. So I ended up talking to Brian Wilkins, the owner, and one of his remarks was "where do you want this conversation to go?" and "all things new, you have to work out the bugs." I'm very frustrated with a BRAND new camper and having so many problems, and the customer service is unbelievable.
I bought a 2021 *** Camper on March 23rd for $20,499.99 from this business, and I've had nothing but issues with the "work" they tried
I bought a 2021 *** Camper on March 23rd for $20,499.99 from this business, and I've had nothing but issues with the "work" they tried to fix. When I bought the camper, the refrigerator didn't work, and they tried to replace it. But they put in the wrong one (4 months after I bought it) and switched the hinges, which ended up breaking again. I had to wait even longer for a new one, which I didn't receive until over a year later. On top of that, the subwoofers didn't work, and there was no water pressure in the shower, among other things. I asked them to fix these issues before the warranty expired, but they didn't. In the spring of 2022, the slide out to the camper stopped working. I called multiple times to get it fixed before the warranty expired, but they either didn't call back, didn't answer at all, or said they were too busy to fit me in. Finally, in July 2022, I was able to get it into the shop, but they kept it for over a month, only for the slide out to break again in the middle of October. Honestly, I'm completely fed up with this product. I asked them to trade it in for something else, but they wanted a large down payment or a co-signer, even for a 2016 camper. I also asked them to buy it back from me at the remaining balance of my loan, but they couldn't do that either. I just want to get rid of this loan on a camper that isn't even worth what I owe because of all the issues it has had and continues to have. I'm willing to take a loss of over $3000 in payments with interest for a camper that I was only able to use maybe 5 times in 2 summers because of all the maintenance problems. I think Wilkins should have offered some kind of compensation for all the time I've lost, like an older camper or one of the same value, but they couldn't do anything. I just don't want to deal with this company anymore and want to move on.
I bought a new *** from Wilkins RV in June
I bought a new *** from Wilkins RV in June . A few days before signing, I asked them about the cost of adding 3 slide toppers and if I could finance it with the loan. They agreed and gave me a price of $2,219.40, which included parts, labor, taxes, and other fees. The work was done before my husband and I signed the paperwork and took possession of the travel trailer. Later, on 11/3, I received an email from Kim W with an invoice for $2,127.34, which included parts, labor, taxes, and fees for the 3 slide toppers they installed. I called to ask about the $98.06 difference between what I paid and what the invoice showed. Kim said she would check the paperwork and refund me if I had overpaid. The next day, she left me a voicemail saying I could ignore the invoice as they showed we had already paid, with no mention of a refund. I tried calling her back but she wasn't available. On Friday, I left her a voicemail asking about the refund. Instead, I received a call from Mike Y, a sales manager, who said they would only refund me $48.60, not the $98.06. He claimed that the quote I received was too high and I should have been charged $670 per topper, but according to the invoice, it should have been $656 per topper. He bluntly told me that if they hadn't sent me the invoice by mistake, I wouldn't have received any refund, and I should be happy to get anything back. He also said that the price they gave me was just an estimate, and if it didn't cost that much, I had to cover the difference. When I asked for a price, I expected an actual figure, especially since the toppers were installed before my purchase. This "estimate" and how it worked were not explained when they gave me the figures. Mike mentioned that if I had paid for them after the purchase, I would have only had to pay $2,127.34. I want the full $98.06 refund that I'm owed.
We purchased a Fifth Wheel camper from a dealership in Nichols, NY on 8/28
We purchased a Fifth Wheel camper from a dealership in Nichols, NY on 8/28. The dealership was later acquired by Wilkins RV in May 2022. Since the beginning, we've encountered numerous issues with the camper. It has been returned for repairs multiple times. Recently, we discovered a crack on the exterior. We reported this to the manufacturer on 7/22/22, who instructed us to contact the dealership. We arranged an appointment and left the camper with them on 8/12/22 for a scheduled repair on 8/18/22, hoping to have it back by Labor Day weekend. After not hearing from them, we reached out only to find poor customer service with no call or email responses. Upon being told the camper was ready, we found on 8/26/22 that it was untouched with the crack still covered by tape. The dealership admitted to a mix-up and the need to readdress the issue at their expense. We returned home camper-less. Informed again of a repair completion, we discovered a new crack on 9/2/22. The dealership claimed ignorance and promised to contact the manufacturer. After a holiday weekend runaround, we learned from the manufacturer that they had authorized the repair on our initial call, contrary to what the dealership claimed. Despite our efforts and communication with Wilkins' managers, we are left with an unrepaired camper and unreturned calls. Our goal is simply to have the camper fixed for our winter travels.
