General RV Center - Do Not. Up From General RV-Ocala
I wish that I could leave a “0” rating! We drove 8+ hours to deal with this location and put a deposit on a motorhome before we left. Although our sales consultant was great, the motorhome was “sold” by another salesperson due to a cash offer on our sales consultants day off. We were never contacted until after the fact by the sales manager (Tom P.), who...

The short story is I bought a $125K camper from them in 2022 brand new. My wife and I arrived in Virginia so excited to get our new camper but the pickup process was a mess and we didn't get out of there for 6.5 hours. The real telling sign was that everyone there that was picking up their campers were there for a really long time and were upset just like us. That was only the beginning to the mess. As soon as I got it home we saw the generator exhaust was dragging on the ground and the refrigerator didn't work. We made an arrangement to drop it off at their Elizabethtown Pa location (about 3 hours from us). We drove there and were told we couldn't leave it (they didn't have room, our second bad sign) but that they would look at it while we were there. They told us it was the front panel on the refrigerator, and they would have one sent to us to install at home. After several weeks we received the part, but that part did not fix the issue. We decided to go the whole season without the refrigerator, so we didn't miss the season. On October 30, 2023, we dropped the camper at the service center. For months we heard nothing and could not get an update on our camper. Finally in late January we were told they couldn't find our camper in the system. Eventually they found it. Several months later we were told it was ready for pickup. In May of 2024 we drove the 3 hours and began our walkthrough and immediately noticed wires hanging out of the refrigerator. It was NOT fixed. We left without the camper. Since then, they have received another part, and that part did not fix the issue so now we've been waiting a week supposedly for the refrigerator manufacturer to respond back to General RV. Believe it or not this is the short version and does not include all the issues we have had.
Recommendation: Do NOT buy anything from General RV and definitely don't buy their extended warranty plan.

General RV Center Complaints 24
Your worst nightmare
"The definition of a NIGHTMARE! "
Please read before considering General RV.
We purchased a 2021 Fleetwood Discovery in Sept. Of 2020. We did a walk thru, several concerns and we were told all items would be repaired or replaced at our first service. Our biggest concern was a crushed tile in front of the refrigerator "Oh, no problem, we will replace that at the first service, you have extra tiles in your storage area. Other parts on order. Take your motor home and have fun. First service comes we are then told we need to take the motor home back to the factory in Indiana to get the tile repaired. Yes, back to the factory. We were also told the other replacement parts that were ordered at delivery were not ordered and we would have to come back 4 days in service nothing done. We return again and only got one item repaired, a missing blind. All other items still not completed. Third visit, 5 days, nothing, nothing done again.
We called the Operation Manager (Trae), no return call, we called the body shop manager, no return call, we called the General RV corporate headquarters 3 times and finally a promise on the third call that someone from the Dover store will call within 48 hours. 72 hour plus and no call. Another call, now the 4th to Corporate and we do, 3 days later, get a call from the Drew service manager at the Tampa Store.
He did apologize for the poor service, poor communication and explained that his service writers were under pressure and that was the reason they made up the untrue stories we were told. The additional expenses we have, motels, food, RV park reservations, etc, since we are fulltime, were to be expected according to him. His only resolution was for US to call the Rev Group and see who they would recommend to go to get our issues resolved as he did not have the confidence that they would make the repairs. Yes, take it elsewhere... In other words the only reason for the call was to get rid of us!
This is a short version in hopes others will read this and avoid General RV at all costs!
The entire story would take pages and is truly unbelievable.

Sold a lemon motorcoach by Richard Barrientos of General RV in Orange Park, FL.
My husband traded our 2021 Forest River motorcoach with 5k miles on a nothing-but-a-lemon 2022 Thor Challenger. We received $90k for our Forest River in excellent condition - HUGE mistake (General RV wanted to know our payoff and low-balled us by $10k). We lived in our Forest River for only one month. When we looked at this Thor motorcoach (August 2022...

To whom it may concern: My name is Peter Jungbaer. On Saturday October 07, 2023, we went to the General RV in Elizabethtown PA to pick up our NEW 2024 Forest River Wildcat 39QB that we got at the Hershey RV show. On that date we drove 1 ½ hours and spent 5 hours there. About ½ hour at finance and about 1 ½ hours going through the unit. After going through...

Delivery problems with 2022 Holiday Rambler Admiral
My Partner and I took delivery of a used RV on 5/12/2023. The delivery was delayed about a week for what was described as a leak repair in a leveling jack. we Live in Tallahassee Fl. and drove aprox. 3 hours to the dealership in Ocala to pick it up. Once at home we found many problems with the RV. The tire pressures were very low, half of power inside wa...

In March 2023 I purchased a 2023 Thor Axis 24.3. Once they get you to sign on the dotted line the RV is yours to deal with. Infact, you have to sign paperwork stating that they provide absolutely no warranty on the unit. It is impossible to call, text or email the service department and get a response from anyone. Every time I needed to talk to them, I would have to drive to General RV. I immediately started having issues with the batteries showing that they were discharging constantly, and the windshield leaked like a water hose running full blast. General checked the batteries and charging system and said it was working as it should. I had a trip planned for months leaving in two weeks and tried to get Gary Martin to seal the windshield for the trip. He said they subcontract that work and could not get it repaired before my trip. On the trip I had to keep a 5 gal bucket and pan on the dash to catch the massive amount of water coming in. While on the trip, I was parked in a RV campground and the windshield just started cracking from the bottom center in a V formation. By morning it was cracked halfway up to the top. When I got back from the trip I again contacted Gary Martin and he sent a request to Thor for approval to get a new windshield installed. Thor refused to cover the installation stating that it was an insurance claim. I had to have the unit towed twice at my expense because the engine battery was completely dead. The second time it was determined that the auxiliary start switch was wired incorrectly. In summary, the customer service after the sale is virtually now existent. Communicating with General Service is next to impossible.
Desired outcome: You would think management would be more concerned about how the customer is treated after the sale if they expect repeat sales. This was my second motorhome purchased from General RV (first one in Tampa) and will be my last.
Canceled $400,000 sales contract
The worse rv liars anywhere in the world. Last week I bought a $400,000 diesel rv from these fools. I paid a $10,000 non-refundable deposit and signed the paperwork via docu-sign listing the new 23' entegra cornerstone I bought. My conversation with the online person and then her sales manager took a few hours to complete the deal. They told me to book my flight to chicago and pick up within 7 days. I booked a flight with united and when I was about to redeem a cd to pay for it, I got a call saying they made a mistake and it was really $600,000. They asked me if I wanted to pay $200,000 more? I should have known what kind of a place this was when the first thing the sales manager said to me when he called, was "how about ceramic coating"? That was a big red flag because ceramic coating is a big scam. Thanks for the great service general rv center!
2024 Thor Twist
We came to the Brownstown Michigan General RV dealership from Ohio to look at a used RV. We were talked into purchasing the Thor Twist but wanted an awning. We were told that we could have one installed and the Twist was pre wired for an awning so we paid to get one installed. It was to be installed at the North Canton facility. That was the first week of May. Today, July 14th, after waiting for the parts and to get the installation to get scheduled we are told that this vehicle is in fact not prewired for the awning. North Canton is going to get the parts and promised to get the awning installed next week. Had we known this was going to be such an issue we would never have purchased this vehicle. We canceled two trips because of this.
Desired outcome: David Swank [protected]
Brand new rv 4 months in the shop
We bought a brand new 2023 Tiffin Allegro Open Road 36U on November 30, 2022. I should have known that General RV is a questionable dealership when the finance guy pushed the “magical paint coating” on me, I said “no” and when I showed up to pick the RV up, it was done anyway and $7K added to the invoice. He claimed I said I wanted it. I clearly told him in...

My wife and I purchased this camper from the Hershey RV show on 9/18/22 when we arrived at the dealership to pick this up we did our walk through we had a lot of issues 1st thing we noticed Was all the water laying on the floor they told us it was because it was pressure washed with a deep clean, all the sunshade boxes were loose or falling off the theater seats had a stain on them, the table it was falling off the wall, trim work along, the baseboard was all scratched up and falling off the cabinet in the kitchen. Veneer was coming off in the bathroom. Shower stall was cracked. The vanity again drawers were misaligned, and the veneer was falling off. in the bedroom drawers were not aligned cabinets were falling down. Missing buttons caps all over, no on/off switch for Wi-Fi Staples were sticking out along the outside of the slides on the outside we were missing The ladder rack, back up camera and all of my quick disconnects all the sealant around the roof windows doors looked very excessive and done very poorly, slides were not closing tight against unit, received the wrong load distribution hitch for my unit. The solar port in the storage was hanging out of the wall. all the covers for my black water, gray water broken. Told too take and bring back for the repairs after our trip so here how our trip went we arrived, went too set the unit landing jacks would not come down without binding up, noticed that our toilet will not hold water. Our kitchen sink was leaking from the faucet, and something from underneath the unit was also leaking couldn’t figure out what was leaking. Went to use the heater and heat was not blowing out of any of the vents, but the bathroom, opened up the sleeper sofa to use, and it was not aligned at all very uncomfortable that night it rained when we woke up. My wife and I had a beautiful waterfall feature coming down the front wall of our bed getting that cleaned up to walk out into the main living to everything being so saturated our slides were leaking. Staples were coming up through the floor. You could feel them underneath popping up. The dinette would not lay down and able to be turned into a bed like it supposed to be. we just closed the unit up and returned it to the dealer. The service manager greeted us to go over all these issues. He took multiple pictures with his tablet. He got up on the roof and took multiple pictures of what he called holes in the liner. my unit has been sitting at your dealership since October of last year. I have been in contact with them multiple times. I am so lost on what is actually done what is not done other than it seems like I’m getting nothing but a runaround. we are going on nine months that I have not been able to use my unit. I have asked to trade this thing in on another unit I’ve asked for them to buy it back. I’m not getting anywhere at this point I am being forced to contact attorney. My name is Robert Gamble [protected]
Desired outcome: Refund my money please
Incorrect rv ordered and sent home with customer. Multiple issues and defects since purchase. Rv still new and unused.
Customer being forced to keep the wrong RV.
RV was ordered by GENERAL RV.
The wrong RV was provided to customer. Due to Family medical emergency spouse was unable to walk through RV for inspection for several days. Wrong model RV ordered and sent home with customer.
Unresolved multiple issues with RV
RV 1 month old and still sitting unused.
Desired outcome: I would like the Wildwood-FSX 174BHLE RV we paid for.See attached photos for what the order we should have received
2108FBS Minnie Winnie
Purchase a new Minnie Winnie 2108FBS in Jun 2022..
1st camping trip we encountered water leaking from all the water connections.
The water leaking damaged the cabinet wood. I have taken the camper to General Rv Wixon 3 seperate times over the water leaks. 3 times it was returned with the water still leaking and damaging more wood. The last visit for the same issue lead us into winterizing the camper. On returing the camper the Backsplash cracked and is still in need of repair.
Every time I reach out to Wixon RV, It usually takes multiple calls, emails and weeks to months to receive a response to initiate repair scheduling.
I have not energized water lines to verify the 4th water leak repair and over 2 months waiting on a response to repair backsplash.. This will now ruin my 2nd camping season and cost me even more in travel to fix a new camper issues.
Desired outcome: Repair the new camper we purchased. return calls and emails.
Repairs on multiple items
We just bought a 2023 Forest River Grand Villa View on March 25, 2023 and have had nothing but problems, the hot water tank was bad they did replace that. But our furance doesn't work, it will not produce heat it turns and then shuts right down, been trying to get them to check it out, but will not return calls or email. We also have items that aren't working or broken and they have not corrected that. When it was delivered one of the stool legs had a big chunk taken out, the counter has a nice size chip in it, blind in bedroom doesn't work, shower and washer don't drain into grey water tank. Shower floor is spongy and can feel the cut out is way ro big and feels like your going to fall through. Central vacuum doesn't have any suction. And they don't return calls or emails and this is all under manufacturers warranty. Also mattress in loft was torn upon delivery. Staples are popping through on walls and cabinets looks really bad. Front jack broke when setting it up due to inferior parts. We can't get response back from managers or service writers, just poorly run there. All the doors are misaligned nothing closes properly, drawers are falling apart and it is not even a month old.
Desired outcome: We would like this stuff fixed asap as we live in it full time and we need heat, and for them to respond to the issues. Just because you sold it doesn't mean your done. They are rude to there customers
Extended warranty contract
We were given false information about an extended warranty and then charged over 4 times the price quoted.
Finance department is dishonest and not transparent.
The cancellation procedure is flawed and a joke.
Dont make the mistake we did. Buy your rv somewhere where they listen to you and understand what No" means.
This place is a joke! A bad one!
Desired outcome: Refund of the $12586 extended warranty that you snuck in the paperwork. Price quoted was $2880 for an almost 10K difference.
General RV OCALA
PURCHASED 2023 ALLIANCE 36V11 OCTOBER 29, 2022 from General RV, Ocala, Florida. The follow up and communication is non-existent once we signed the paperwork. We are fed up. The latest is Garry Martin said he would get back to us pertaining to the issues below, on Monday and we are still waiting. He doesn't answer his calls, voice mail, email or text messages.
1. WARRANTY ISSUE Our TV stopped working last Friday in the main living area. Service Technician from Ocala, Fl confirmed the TV is defective. Garry Martin said he was setting up shipment of new TV plus missing part off TV mount. General RV, Ocala installed this TV day before delivery of RV to us.
2. The other issue is we never received a new registration for the tag transfer. We did receive the title of our new 2023 Alliance Valor 36V11. I checked on line with DMV Florida and the tag is still registered to our old RV, a 2015 Montana that we traded in. I checked our Purchase Agreement and we did pay $270.00 for it ($250 Title, Reg, Lic, +$20 electronic regis transfer). Garry Martin is aware of this and we have left messages w/ finance but haven’t heard back yet.
Desired outcome: 1). New TV as promised before we leave on our 70 day trip 2). Registration transferred to new RV. 3). Refund of difference from actual title transfer costs.
Deposit not returned
We went to the Tampa RV show on January 22, 2023 and placed a $5000 deposit on an RV and have made multiple attempts to get our deposit back after a deal was not made. It has been nearly 3 weeks and Chris the general manager has ensured we would receive a refund to which has still not happened. This is my final demand before a court proceeding ensues. Do not give them a deposit before final approval. You will be fighting to get it back if the deal falls through.
Desired outcome: Desired outcome is a full refund before further charges such as interest and court fees are added.

We purchased a 2011 used Sprinter van in September 2022. There was a light hanging from the ceiling in the lounge area that was not functioning. We were informed prior to and at signing the purchase papers that it would be replaced. Since September, we have heard nothing but lack of interest in repairing what they promised. There have been repeated phone calls over the past 4 months to the Elizabethtown, PA facility with many excuses offered to us, avoiding their promise to repair the light.
The website does not appear to have a way to contact corporate. Mr. Baidas' statement on the generalrv.com site is "Since 1962 our promise has been to provide our customers with a great buying experience..." Obviously, the staff at General RV Elizabethtown has failed to understand or follow through with his statement to their customers.
Desired outcome: Our goal is to have the lamp repaired as promised at the time of the sale.
Will not send me PA tags for 2023 RV bought in July
Ordered a Nexus Ghost 37DS from General RV at the 2021 Hershey RV show (September 2021). Paperwork processed with Dave P. in finance from Wixom, MI corporate office who was at Hershey. General RV was to open a Harrisburg location the month following the Hershey, PA show.
Called to make PU at the new Harrisburg location in early July. Picked up the unit on July 14, 2022. Talked to Dave by telephone in Wixom who stated that for whatever reason (No PA office open when we ordered it, lender was not allowed to lend to PA resident's, etc., several were given) this vehicle needed to be titled in Michigan and we left with a 14 day MI temporary tag. Dave assured me he had a tag title company in MI that would take care of getting me the PA paperwork processed (I was charged for this service). I was asked to sign a power of attorney for this unnamed tag company, which I did.
The 14 day temporary tag expired and after threatening to go to the PA Attorney General I received another MI temporary tag, this time for 30 days and it expires September 3, 2022.
Last week I called the PA DMV and they ran the VIN number of my Nexus RV and said that there is no such VIN number registered in PA. DMV asked who the transfer company was handling the PA portion of this transaction and said this vehicle should have been tagged in PA outright as General RV has an office in Harrisburg, PA on July 14, 2022.
Dave P., in Wixom, MI corporate does does not return any phone calls.
My 30 days tags expire at the end of this week, MI temporary tag 630799D
Desired outcome: Legal PA tags for my New RV that I bought and paid for in PA.
Dexter axle
Was advised while on a trip more than 1,000 miles from home to have my rear axle looked at as mobile tech said it may be bent causing undo wear to my tires. I set up appt right away and when I returned home took it right it to your Huntley, IL location on 6/01/2022. They were advised to take pictures and measurements to be submitted to Grand Design and Dexter axle. I have reached out a number of times to my service rep Matt Domson to see where we are at but in the meantime requested an estimate for replacement of axle in the event it was not covered by warranty. He response every time was that they haven’t heard anything yet and he never did provide me an estimate so I could get this taken care of so that I could use my camper! I called Grand Design today only to find out that they just received info for potential warranty coverage YESTERDAY! Over a month after my appointment. They also told me it could take up to 48 hours to hear back from Dexter confirming warranty coverage or not. But! The info your Huntley location provided was incomplete and that more information was needed. I am at wits end what to do now to be able to use my fifth wheel without any axle worries during travel. Where do I go from here!?
