Cannot make contact with WWP suggested update site to be removed from mail list.
My husband is a disabled war veteran who made a few cash donations to Wounded Warriors Project a few years ago. The info from the most recent WWP donation solicitation form received 2-21-23 has contact info on return envelope (supportwwp.org/update) to update and/or discontinue unwanted mail from WWP, but there is no update field to fill out on site or opt out. Do not want 'gift' of labels with note pad or the hard sell of making donations. How mang trees does it take to stop such a c a r i n g organization like WWP to get the message, not the money? Have not donated for years & pressuring war veterans to contribute is outrageous. Grateful our cr card# was not intially given to WWP.
Desired outcome: Discontinue unwanted solicitation and pressure to contribute.
Bloated salaries
I checked them out a few minutes ago on www.charitynavigator.org. The top 4 company officers' salaries are over $280,000 EACH. The top 2 are over $300,000 EACH. That shows a LOT of BLOAT, and NO so called "charity's" officers should rake in salaries like these. I'm shredding their mailer we just received, and messaged them to remove our address from future mailings.
Desired outcome: I messaged them to remove our address from any mailers. This one is going into the shredder. We take all shredded paper to an animal rescue, where they use it for animal bedding.
Blanket
I called Wounded Warriors just the other day to complain about my blanket I didn't receive, I had sent in $20.00 in cash with all of my info in September and never received my item so I called to let them know and was in the middle of texting them when them disconnected me, so donators beware and it's my fault for sending cash, so Muck ‘em big time, wait until I get the next letter in the mail I'm sending them a surprise .
Desired outcome: Joke

Highly recommended, but caution will not hurt.

This is a positive sign, as it indicates that the website has been around for a while and may have a reputation to maintain.

We looked up Wounded Warrior Project and found that the website is receiving a high amount of traffic. This could be a sign of a popular and trustworthy website, but it is still important to exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of the site before sharing any personal or financial information
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:
- While Wounded Warrior Project has a high level of trust, our investigation has revealed that the company's complaint resolution process is inadequate and ineffective. As a result, only 0% of 8 complaints are resolved. The support team may have poor customer service skills, lack of training, or not be well-equipped to handle customer complaints.
- Wounded Warrior Project protects their ownership data, a common and legal practice. However, from our perspective, this lack of transparency can impede trust and accountability, which are essential for establishing a credible and respected business entity.
- We conducted a search on social media and found several negative reviews related to Wounded Warrior Project. These reviews may indicate issues with the company's products, services, or customer support. It is important to thoroughly research the company and its offerings before making any purchases to avoid any potential risks.
Agency taking illegal donations
Wounded warrior project is a a con game, a scam. Every vet they use is visibly wounded. Every person they help is limited to the vets in wheelchairs or missing limbs. They dont care about the vets. They only care about getting the most noticeable faces on tv. Those few as re the only ones they help.
I live in florida and homeless vets are everywhere here. They live in the streets. They shelter in abandoned structures. They do not have physical wounds. They were good young men that returned and they cannot forget they cannot forgive themselves. I live with a retired army veteran. He was an eagle scout. He was a good man. After 30 years in the army and over 10 years in Iraq he returned, confused, angry. The good in him his gone. He is 100% disabled and he has reached out to wounded warrior project several times. They ignore him. They call him for donations. The greed if this organization is criminal. You insult these damaged vets with your fake commercials. Wounded warrior project needs those in charge to be handcuffed and their faces need to be on the news. Your commercials damage my boyfriend. He knows you are using veteran's to get rich. You dont help them. You need to go to jail
Desired outcome: Take all the money and actually help all vets! not just the ones with visible disabilities
I have a traumatic brain injury from annual training in 2017 (annual training accident with USAF lines of duty). My VA disability is primarily mental health, DOES NOT EVEN MENTION TBI but that is the source of the majority of my problems (neurological, vestibular, hearing, sensory, cognitive decline, memory loss, etc).
We were patriots (political pawns) while serving in the military. VA is trying their best to promote suicide so they don’t have to pay military pensions. VA medical care is subpar on all levels and has been since it’s establishment. WWP and SSA is merely an extension of our growing government bureaucracy that delays, denies, and discards injured service members as if they were nothing more than garbage.
Those of us that live with the guilt and shame from our military service, never see a dime! Donations are used to grow the company. Non-profits continue to grow with federal funding. If you want to help, donate to the person directly, or volunteer with a local church! This wasteful and abusive spending of the DOD, VA and other bogus military organizations need to be stopped!
service dog and support
I contacted WWP at the request of several of my doctors at the VA hospital in las Vegas, NV. I emailed the WWP and provided my letters of recommendation from the VA along with my DD214. The response I received was that no service will be provided because is was considered other era. It appears this organization discriminates biased on when you served your country. Do to not receiving any assistance from WWP which was recommended, I tried other Organizations including MVP I was not they type of veteran they are looking for. I had an episode that occurred causing me to. Loose of consciousness which caused me to have ankle surgery. This has occurred several more times which has resulted in me being hospitalized. A situation that did not need to Happen. Fund raising should be stopped due to discrimination against veterans.
donation
A friend was having his birthday. He was injured in a war. He asked on Facebook if we could make a donation to Wounded Warrior project. The ad said if we wanted to make a one time donation or monthly. I checked the one time only box. I made a one time donation of $20.00. My credit card company told me it's set up for monthly donations. Please help me correct this. The charge (first one) occurred on October 2, 2018. I called up my credit card company to check and they told it was entered as monthly.. I checked off one time donation on my entry. My wife told me it happened to a friend of hers. She's still trying to get it corrected. I need you to get this released from my credit card account. Thank you.
I don't have any updates at this time.
I don't have any updates at this point.
SCAM
I love these places that take in so much money and don't give a penny out to the vets that are supposed to get it...This is nothing but a scam and the governmet does nothing to stop this...This is no different then going out taking money from people and telling them thanks...And then just keeping the money for yourself...Like a legal mugging...Unreal...And people fall for this stuff...People are not very smart...

Overall I fee l this is a good and worth while organization. I am concerned about the way they choose who qualifies for there organization. There mission taken from their website is as follows:
Qualified beneficiaries are the dependent families of those who, while serving in the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, or Air Force, have been wounded, injured or killed while engaged in direct combat operations as defined by the Department of Defense. Wounded Warriors Family Support is a family oriented program.
In order to qualify, service members must have dependent children. Widows with dependent children of those killed in action or died of wounds are also eligible.
On there facebook page they have asked for individual to share their stories on how war has affected them. Stating that there is a lot of support for physical injuries but not as much for psychological and spirtual issues. Based on this information I applied for their services. My husband Msgt Kyle Baker died on 12/19/2010. Cause of death was suicide secondary to PTSD after serving for in Afghanistan. This statement has been determined by the VA to be true. They have stated that my husband's death is a service related death. Initially, after submitting the application Kate, from Wounded Warriors Family support, told me that I qualified. I also was in contact with Michael Barclay from the organizations and he told me on facebook that their organization was geared to support individuals such as myself and my children. Both Kate and Mr. Barclay later told me that I do not qualify without further explanation.
I want to make it clear that I do not desire to have any of the benefits that this organization provides. I have two concerns. The first is that this organizations is taking donations on the pretense that they support individuals and their families who have spiritual and psychological issues from war. If this is true my 2nd concern is that they have discrimated against me and my children because of my husband's suicide. What I believe is true is that they do support individuals and family member with spiritual and psychological traumas from war, but they do not want to be associated with the fact that spiritual and psychological injuries from war sometimes result in suicide. As a recent survivor of suicide it was really difficult for me to reach out for support. When I was told that we did not qualify without the reason that we did not it was devasting. Not because we wouldn't recieve benefits from them, but because it felt like they were saying that my husbands struggle with PTSD and resulting death was not a valid war injury. I do not want anyone else to go through that. I am requesting that the organization make clear there mission. If it does include individuals who suffer from PTSD and their families I want them to acknowlege why we were not accepted. Like I said I believe that they do not want to be associated with the fact that war trauma can result in suicide. Dening this fact does not help anyone.
I'm Megan Bowling and I've donated for several years. In September, I called to remove my acct. To stop taking cause I can no longer afford. The last 2 months your still taking my money causing me a negative n bank. Just stop taking my money please. Thx mb. [protected]
This is wrong and it needs to be changed.
