I have published 6 books with Xlibris and paid for many marketing services, NONE have produced any sales and they have never sent me proof they actually Marketed my books. I have been trying for a year now to speak with someone regarding lowering the cost of my books because potential readers have been complaining they are too expensive. I have sent countless messages on their website, I have sent them emails all year and all I have ever received is an email back telling me that someone will respond shortly. The months go back and NO ONE has responded to my concerns. I RATE THEM AS A ZERO!
I have published 6 books with Xlibris. I should have been more diligent in my research of publishers before beginning the process. Once they have your money, they provide NO customer service, NO support, and they do not respond to any messages or email concerns. Their Marketing services do NOT produce any sales etc They published my children's book (for young kids) using a script cursive font that no small child could possibly read let alone some adults, they over priced my books so no one can afford to purchase them. I have been trying for a year now to ask them to lower the price of my novels, but they do not answer any of my messages or emails which are always very detailed, they IGNORE me and all I have ever received from them is an email message telling me someone by the name of Sid, will contact me shortly. The months have gone by and many messages sent, but I have NEVER received any reply from anyone. I can't find a physical address for them so I can submit a BBB complaint in their city and State and I can't submit a complaint to their Attorney General's office. They run a big scam, authors beware.
My experience with Xlibris has left me with the reality that they are scamming people out of money. They have made it next to impossible to locate their physical address, they do not respond to concerns and they are not reliable at all. Once they have your money and publish your book/s, they provide NO support and NO customer service.

Publication, refund, fraud.
I signed up to publish a book with Xlibris at the start of November 2023. Within weeks it was becoming evident that the business was focused on sales, whilst promising outstanding customer services. The communication was erratic, unless it was regarding further up selling. When asked about cancelling services the communication went silent. No one...
Read full review of Xlibris PublishingI wrote a book of poems and short stories and submitted it to Xlibris.
It was in 2009 that they published my book titled "Triumphs". In 2011 they asked me whether I had more poems. I sent them 25 more poems and a short story, which they published together as one book titled "Triumphs 1&2". Again, I got three or four royalty checks over the next four years, all under $5.00.
In about 2014, I contacted Omnibooks of New York. They republished my book under the title "Rejoice". They illustrated the hardback edition.
But again, I saw no royalties. I engaged an attorney. He obtained a sales report from Omnibooks, but not a check to me.
This is my story with Xlibris. I can still log into their author center. But I'm getting no royalties.
Desired outcome: I want a sales report and the appropriate royalties.
In 2008 I published a short novel that was republished in 2009, due to horrible editing. Though I was very pleased with the cover I chose for my book, I only received a total of 7 dollars royalties since 2009. There were relatives, coworkers, friends and associates who have purchased my book over the years, of which I received none of those royalties. It's 2023, and I have yet received additional royalties, though my book is on many online bookstores.
Money paid with no results
On 6/26/2023 I made the first deposit of $ 740.67 in order to get my published. I was speaking with ray dawson. And she told me someone would be in contact with me in 24 to 48 hours to help me down load my boot to them. 3 weeks later and many phone and e mail later I still did not get anyone. Finally I was able to get someone and they told me it would take an other 2 to 3 weeks. Finally I did receive some payment but did not get the remainder $174.01 back yet and still I cannot get someone at xlibris

Publishing and Royalties
Hello, my name is Clair Vernon Quinnine Jr. and I am the author of the Novel 'The Ghetto Oscar; which is self-published with Xlibris. It's been over 10 years and I have yet to see compensation for my book sales. At one point I asked them to cease and stop the sales of my book and to this day they have yet to do so. They had the nerves of sending me a royalty statement of 4 sales over a period of 10 years which was an insult. I myself bought more 500 books over the course of ten years for family friends and associates simply because they were interested in reading and for them to do that shows the true nature and character of this company and also the integrity of online book company who does business with them knowing.
Desired outcome: I want compensation for my book sales and pain and suffering for the period of 10 years that they dishonest business tactics.
My books
Please, I need your help urgently.
I signed an agreement with Xlibris on February 1, 2023. It is 90 days agreement, so I still have time for this complaint.
I have tried to cancel the agreement twice, but they refuse to refund my money.
They published my books (English Version and Spanish Version) without my permission and without reviewing them. The books were wrong. When they passed them to their system, the sentences were divided, words were repeated and mixed with characters, and the worst thing was that they copied the Spanish version over the English version. In other words, they left all the titles in English, in the book in Spanish. And, they published them on Amazon and Barnes & Nobles. The e-books were a disaster too.
I stopped them to publish my books.
I revised and corrected my books again and sent to them. Today, they just sent me the books back to me, and again with errors.
Thank God, I found you.
My email is [protected]@yahoo.com
Thank you, Liliana Parra Ubilla.
Blessings.
PS: Everything that other people have written about Xlibris is true. The only thing they want from us is money.
Desired outcome: The refund of my $3,000.That they eliminate my books from their system, and that they do not publish my books anymore. My full copyright over my books. I want to be sure of this.
Misleading, misconduct and despicable service
Absolutely horrible. Been waiting on a refund for 2 years now with some refund specialist named AL that keeps dragging this out in hopes that I forego my hard earned money. After all my time and efforts, this week Al informed me that a refund will be processed with a deduction of $240 admin fee. Despicable! I am contesting this and will be taking this case to the commerce commission board if this ridiculous fee isn't absorbed by your fraudulent company. Ugh, such a distasteful experience.
Desired outcome: Full refund of my payment
Yep, and don't forget too file with the Attorney General in Indiana. That's my next step. And also the Dept. of justice, Racketeering is what I'm requesting. They scam me outta 6k with 0 services. Their so called contact is Fraudulent, They found a crooked Lawyer too type that up. Everything in the contract is written too benefit them. Their weapon of choice is the 30/90 day window too steal ur money. NO REFUNDS! And they have the nerve too tack on $75 fee for u canceling. There's a $400 fee if u cancel one of the packages. This is a bunch of BS. They gonna make sure they string u along pass those 2 windows, bc their mission is too clean u out dry. Then they go Ghost and disappear like they never you. They are some STRAIGHT UP MONEY GRABBER'S! THEY OPERATE LIKE A CARTELS ORG. I WON'T STOP TILL THEY PAY ME MY MONEY!
Haven't gotten one penny for work and publishing of my book
I solicited Xlibris in good faith that they would help me with my book. After all the work and the submission of documents. I received books that had typos and a few calls to give them permission to list my work online i.e. e-commerce to make it more available to the public for sale. However, when I contact them, it showed that nothing has been done that would promote my work. They wanted more money after I paid upfront funds for my work. I didn't know until later that they were not truthful with what they had to offer. I wish I could have known. Time and money wasted.
Desired outcome: would like to recover my funds.
My lost royalties
I’m complaining about my lost royalties, that I haven’t received in a year, I was getting royalties every month, my friends and family from Oklahoma City, Denver Colorado, Michigan, California has bought my book, and I haven’t received any Royalties from it and they all bought my book between April last year until December, and they send me a picture of my book.
Desired outcome: I really want to know why I haven’t received any royalties.
This is their DNA, The Phillipines Cartells. u have too fight for what they stole from u. Somehow they are connected too stealing the Royalties. That clause in the contract about Royalties is Hog Wash. That's why they won't let the Author set the price for their book. That's the problem I had with a million typos. I paid 6k, then they tried too backdoor me a extra gran for editing. and they never did any editing, but it was apart of the contract and added on pkgs. Go too Dept. of justice and bbb and do another compliant. Any of these services that accept complaints for scams. Don't give up!
Book: Treason by Pam Vause
My book Treason was published by Xlibris [protected]
It has been placed into Dymocks, Angus and Robertson, Amazon, Google, Walmart, Booktopia, and fishpond. When and who pays
me my royalties? (If no sales then why are they still advertising my book?) The American revenue department rang back in 2020 about my income through Xlibris. I told them I had none. I want to cancel all my books on these sights. It isn't fair that nobody is owning up to sales. How do I get Xlibris to cancel my title? How do I get paid for sales?
Desired outcome: I need to see Xlibris accounts department with sales for Treason by Pam VauseAlso, I need my title Treason cancelled by Xlibris in all the above online stores.
Start a complaint with bbb on line.Dept of justice, writer's be ware also. And anyone else who accepts fraud complaints. They think people are stupid. Their contract is set up too steal Royalties. Everyone has the same complaint about Royalties. I never made it that far tho. They scammed me outta 6k. They half typed my manuscript with tons of typos. And wanted another gran. That's where I had too Tap-Out! Also file with the Attorney General in Indiana. they will send u a form. or u might could do it on line. They gonna keep ripping us off until we step up and do something. I want them invested for Racketeering. RICO Law. Don't give up.

Very few to no royalty payments since 2012!
I initially self-published my first and only book thus far, "Poetic Potpourri", with this company back in late December 2011 in print, and the digital version was released in March of 2012. I do NOT recall signing anything, even a contract, good thing I didn't, they ARE just another rip-off and scam as it turns out. I'm still seeing online now in 2022 all...

After researching, I have found various reports of being scammed as well.
Desired outcome: get my money back
Did they say he “quit”
royalties
I notice that Xlibris publishing in Indiana U.S.A. have my book for sale all over the internet. They ripped me off with my web page on Facebook Carousel which I unfortunately did not see. Mr. Jerome Gates is now posing as Sid Wilson at Xlibris, I recognized his voice on the phone recently. Where are my royalties you are promoting my hard work. Xlibris did not copyedit accurately. Dawn Gibson copyedited my work sloppily a service I paid for. Not a good company check out my comments on 2thoughts on a scam and what I say about Author Solutions. A rip the public off company called Xlibris. Just a scam!
Desired outcome: Please refund the services that I paid for in full. This company harasses you and lies to you constantly, it is no wonder Monique Gomez retired from them.
failure to follow authors directions
In 2017 I sent my manuscript to Xlibris and it was published but Illustrations were not as I had specified. I paid about ,I would say, $2500 total for this. I received 10 free copies of my book but never received any royalties from it. I called them and told them about it and checked their website for royalties and saw they only showed 1 E-book sold. I told them I had talked to someone that had bought 2 copies of my book and they asked to submit a copy of the receipt. This brought serious doubt to me as to their policy. If they were selling the book then why need a copy of receipt? I looked through the book and found illustrations that were incorrect. I mentioned this but got a run around. I cancelled my contract with them and currently have the book republished with a different company.
Desired outcome: Total reimbursement of payments
Hi, omgoodness, ive paid for two childrens books to be published at the total cost of $42,000 which was all my money over the two years.
Friends have purchased both books on line but i haven't received anything from Xlibris.
They keep sying the book fairs are being cancelled due to covid.
I feel really saddened over this ordeal and want to pursue futher.

Xlibris publishing services
I did write the the book a light hearted look at new Zealand railway photos.
I also wrote the dangers of social .media. the publishing. Consultant changed his behaviour from encouraging to being a demanding stalker. He was ringing every five minutes of the day. All he wanted was money. I fail to see why I had upgrade my publishing package every two weeks. I think I know why, his boss expected him to sell publishing packages every week. Most of the money goes into his own pocket.
I smelled a rat when I was expected to pay for media releases for the books, those media releases never happened. I discovered once they got your bank card details they were taking money out when they felt. They are thieves.liars. exploiters of vulnerable people.
Sending me tax forms making out I am going to be arrested an sent to jail in the states if I don't send it back filled out.
This company should be shut down..
Desired outcome: Total refund
My book published in 2014
The book was published back in 2014 and has since been advertised, distributed and sold by over 40 online stores and book companies (verifiable by Google) and God knows by how many bookshops in Asian, American, African, Rusdian, European and Australian cities. Yet according to the publisher's official sales reports only a totak of 36 paperback and pdf copies have sold over such a long period! I never expected to be treated like this as it is below the dignity of a publisher dealing with culture and of the United States, the land of human rights and free business.
Desired outcome: Honest reports on sales and respecting the rights of authors by due payments.
Yes i agree totally. Ive paid my books to be sold all over the world too. Its heart breaking how we rely on a company that has laugh at us for their own material gain. What can we do.
Thankyou sincerely Leanne Wake Spencer
Unauthorised credit card charges. Being stalked by
My complaint is that xlibris publishing takes money from bank accounts. At first they were okay , but the consultant started pressuring me by phone. Calls every ten minutes, I felt stalked. He even told me that he googled my house.
I was expected to pay for media releases, even a so called toginet radio interview.
the so called publishing consultant pressure you to upgrade publishing packages every week
Non stop phone calls. Expecting me to pay for shoddy work.
Sending me a tax form pressuring me to pay tax or else
Lying to me about everything.
I discovered that they mucked my book up. The consultant, I was told by other xlibris staff had been saying I wrote five book's. He lied .
I found out that they cleaned out my bank account.
However the bank did a charge back . They then produced papers stating I agreed to let them have access to. My bank account, I never did. I got most money back but not all of it
They even rang me one night threatening me with a debt collector and the police for non payment of a debt..
Desired outcome: A total refund. Cancel any requests for payment
Scam book services
Hello , i have been ripped off by exlibris and partners, like everyone eles. they made a lot of promises but they did not keep. More than 4 years have passed and they told me that i sold 1 copy, of Author of the storm by bloodhive. i tried to get them to increase the price for my book to $1000 so they wont get any sales but they told me that if i wanted to do any changes that i would have to pay $200. Other publishers have told me that my book is generating lots of good reviews , if you know how to see the actual sales of my book please let me know. i heard you have to be a publishing co. in order to see accurate book sales. thank you for your time. [protected]@gmail.com
Desired outcome: i have had offers to buy my book
Hi Jon,
Yes i also would like to know how to find the sles as heaps of friends have purchased my books and ive received nothing.
Thankyou sincerely Leanne Wake Spencer
I would like 100% royalties plus 10% for pain and suffering.
I paid them for a service for which they have not provided under their own contract. I haven't been paid for the first quarter of sales nor do they themselves have the correct information they have released to me. They changed the contract without my approval. I've contacted them numerus times to only get several different answers to why things are the way they are. All of which are lies and transparent in the forum they are and continue to be deceitful!
Desired outcome: i would also like an immediate sist and desist on Xlibris using are making any monies on my works or anything to do with my book "Memories and Regrets" by me "David Soboleski"
