credit card
My payments are being tooken and it seems as though someone from their staff is forwarding my payments to my old account. I called them a couple of days ago and they told me the payment would be on my account last night at 12:00 am. Then I called today and they told me 12:00am tonight. It is a unproffesional business and I would just like to get fair treaetment.
Desired outcome: I would like to get my payment finally
APR/customer service
Today I called 1st financial from many attempts of me calling in the past years in regards to my APR. It was 29% and now it is 30%. They are the only company who refuses to lower the apr and as many times as I have called in the past 3 years to ask for a lower APR they use the same excuse. "the bank is not offering a lower rate at this time" and they also stated that everyone has the same APR rate. This is completely ridiculous. out of every $10 I use I get charged $3 to borrow that. The people there have no courtesy for their customers and they do not care to accommodate customers like other banks do.
Overcharge
I have been with 1st financial bank for 13 years. I started to notice that their APR has increased all of sudden. I have been getting an over limit for the past two months when they have already taken the financed charge. I am unsure why they are doing this now. I really do not appreciate all the bad information on my credit report. I know that every credit card company's is have hard time but this is not the way to do it.
Credit Card
I was recently overcharged through a car rental with budget, due to their error, but b/c i was in contract they wouldn't refund me the money, so i contacted 1st financial bank, considering i've been a customer with them for 11 years, never missed a payment, and in great standing with them, i figured they might be able to help me out, i called to ask if they rec'd my letter, they told me yes we sent you a reply in the beginning of december telling you, your request was denied, funny i never rec'd that letter. good thing i called. i explained the situation to the dispute dept and they told me there was nothing they could do b/c i was in contract and i had signed, due to the fact they weren't going to help me after all my years with them, i told the woman, i would be cancelling my account, she said okay you can do that online, have a nice day! and hung up. really? an 11 year customer, that's how you're going to treat me, just throw me away & not even try to help me, thanks a lot 1st financial bank, you have now lost a great customer
Fraud
I just received a harrassing call from 1st Financial Bank USA indicating that I was late on my account when I just made a payment on time, which she eventually admitted. I have had this credit card since college and it is the only one I cannot pay off or the balance goes down. Years ago they refused to participate when I joined a credit card consolidation group. I paid off a bunch of my cards and some other expenses. I thought I paid all of their statements on time, however found out that they "claimed" they did not receive them in a timely fashion or a few payments were off by a few dollars so they charged me a 30 or 40 dollar late fee. The rep threatened that I had to pay $101.00 by this Sunday. I am beyond appalled at the way they run their business and have never had these issues with other credit cards. My next payment isn't even due until October which is when I will make a payment. She said that my minimum payment will go up if I don't pay $101.00 meaning that this would be the second payment I made for September. I told her I didn't care that I just wanted to pay off this company and never do business with them again. I mentioned to her that some of my friends and family refuse to do business with them because of similar issues. 1st Financial Bank USA should be convicted of Fraud.
I couldn't agree more to this post. First Financial Bank credit cards just suck and they are a shady company.
THIS IS THE WORST CREDIT CARD EVER! DO NOT GET THIS CARD!
I got this card as a freshman in college and I've had it for 6 years. At that time, I signed up for the $250 limit (it was 0% interest under $250). Within the first year, they had increased my limit to $2500 AUTOMATICALLY. It's now up to $6800.
About a year ago, I called to have them lower my interest rate (18.99%). I had had the card for over 5 years, always paid on time, never went over the limit, and had a 736 credit score. They refused 4 times. Seriously, they said 18.99% was the lowest interest rate they offered. But, as I see from the comments above about 15%, that was obviously a LIE! So, not only were they charging me $9 on my online payments, but only about $5 of my $100 or so minimum payments were going toward my balance. If that doesn't say PREDATOR I don't know what does.
Anyway, last year, after they RANDOMLY started charging me a $50 annual fee, I decided to have my balance transferred to another card, with 0% interest for 6 months and 10.24% after that. Yes, that's the APR I deserve! And that was the best decision I ever made. IF YOU WANT OUT OF THIS CARD, DO WHAT I DID. Cut up your card (literally!) and transfer your balance to a lower interest card with NO payment charges.
And to add insult to injury, I got a letter a few months ago from 1st Financial. Guess what it said? They raised my APR to 29.9%! Why? I HAVE NO IDEA! How ridiculous is that? I still have EXCELLENT credit and I haven't used the card in over a year--I was planning on canceling it when my next annual payment came up. And I don't care if closing a card looks bad on my credit--I'M NOT GIVING THEM ANY MORE OF MY MONEY.
SERIOUSLY--this is the worst company I've EVER done business with (if you even want to call it that!) Freshmen don't need to have people practically stealing their money--money they don't even have. That's just cruel and wrong. And that's exactly what this company is. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!
Abusive, uncaring, rude
I have been a customer with 1st financial bank for over 6 years now, no problems. I always hated that they charged me to pay my bill, but it is what it is. In the last year or so, i started having trouble making my payments. I was responsible - - i called them, i set up payment plans, ect. Whenever i went over my limit, it was because of their huge intrest...

Got this card going into college. Started to use it exclusively for my purchases, never went over my limit, always paid off my balance in full on a monthly basis, and built up a pretty good credit history. I was vigilant about protecting my account to make sure there were no false charges, so I would check my online statement almost on a daily basis to double check that the charges were correct. I used the card for years without any problems.
Then, late summer 2009, I noticed a $300 hotel charge on my online statement that I did not make. I immediately phoned the company to report the charge, and they were happy to take it off after I filled out an affidavit. They also sent me a new card ($10 charge). Then they did something that I just can’t understand: they took my online account access away.
They said they removed my online access to protect my account’s security. BUT IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE ONLINE ACCOUNT, I WOULD NOT HAVE FOUND THE FALSE $300 CHARGE UNTIL A MONTH LATER WHEN MY PAPER STATEMENT CAME. I called the company to ask for my online access to be re-instated but they refused – it would be gone for 90 to 120 days. So for the last 4 months, I’ve had no visibility to my account charges and no idea if there were any false charges until I get my paper statement, at which point I would be liable for paying the false charges until they could be removed at a later point. The only alternative was to call their automated system and listen to the last 10 charges, but that is both cumbersome and time-consuming. They say they took my online account access away for security reasons, but my online access was the best way I could protect my account! Needless to say, I no longer use this card (except for a once-a-month recurring charge so that I can keep the account open) and have switched to another company.

I agree with all the complaints on here about this bank. I've always had issues myself. Does anyone know the email to this bank? I've been trying to find it out and can't find it anywhere on the net. What kind of bank doesn't put their contact email on their website?
