My [protected] lease was signed March of 2023 and it stated that it was the tenants responsibility to provide internet and electricity and to contract out with whomever available. So I did again because this was actually the second year I had been there and because I was diagnosed with cancer I was eligible for county aid for my internet charge bringing it down considerably which was a relief and very helpful. Then in June, I get an email from management stating that they were going to start providing internet and they were going to add it to our rent at $60 more a month and it was “NON NEGOTIABLE” and would begin September 1st. I explained to management my situation and they asked for proof which I provided…. several times…. with no response. No response to any emails or phone calls and then they just started charging me for it and on top of that they added May, June, July, August onto my bill even though it didn’t start until September 1st. Again no response. Still adding on the charges month after month and I continued to pay my rent but refused to pay the extra charges. Then they decided to lock me out of the rent payment portal and the only way to unlock it was, you guessed it, to pay THE FULL BALANCE. This is now December and with the “late fees” at added up considerably which I definitely could not afford. Then came the harassment via another “tenant” in the building. This creepy girl had already rubbed me wrong when she started to dress like me and cut her hair just like mine. Then she has a baby and names it after my son and claims HER name is my daughters name which is fairly unique. This weirdo befriends another girl that moved in and it was like pouring gas on flames they were off! Standing outside my door, harassing my cat, following me in their cars, revving their engines and squealing their tires at all hours of the night, you name it.In work from home and it’s a constant disruption! I spoke to her boyfriend who didn’t seem to be aware of the harassment as he worked a lot and he apologized and the next thing I know they’re moving out and I get blamed by management. Except then, the creepy girl comes RIGHT BACK AND MOVES IN WITH THE OTHER GIRL and her boyfriend. It turns out that she’s claiming to whoever will listen that “she works for management” which I was told when I moved in by the then maintenance guy that “she is a narc”. I don’t know what is true but the timeline sort of makes sense. So 33 management is having this girl and her friends harass me relentlessly in the hopes that I’ll get fed up and leave all the while they are destroying my credit so I can’t! And if it goes to court, all they have to do is deny that she is an employee. Whether she is or is not I have complained NUMEROUS times and they have done nothing. The police have been out here on seven separate occasions and also do nothing because guess what?!?! The property allows The police department to use the property for training purposes! What a coincidence. And they have a fake “leasing office” on site but there is NO MANAGEMENT on site. Now I’ve been living here without a lease for 4 months because they are insisting that I pay ALL THE FEES I INCURRED DURING LOCKOUT AND their legal fees. All the while being harassed by children.
Today was the day I was supposed to pay them the fees and I have to be out by July 31st but this is NOT WHAT I agreed to in court two weeks ago. I MADE IT VWRY CLEAR that I was not paying ANY fees incurred during lockout and they tacked them on anyway!
I’m living off my 401k which is going fast and I didn’t think I’d still be alive to be honest. These people are monsters.

I agree with everything you've said and therefore, as of yesterday, I have obtained counsel. My breaking point should have been a lot sooner but while I was napping yesterday, my air stopped working. Of course I'm aware this could be coincidental but I'm also aware that the issue could easily be enacted by disabling the condenser which is on the outside of the building. Lucky for us today is a mild day but it's supposed to be getting hotter and I have pets. I also didn't mention that, since I have lived here, they have gone through 6 office managers. I'm losing my hair, I can't sleep, I have a rash that won't go away, and my periods have become so heavy and irregular that I'm bleeding more often than I'm not.
