Reliable roadside assistance
Last month, I found myself stranded with a flat tire on a deserted stretch of road. I remembered I had AAA's Roadside Assistance, so I gave them a call. To my relief, a friendly technician arrived within 30 minutes. He quickly changed the tire and even gave me some tips on tire maintenance. The service was a lifesaver, and it didn't cost me anything extra since it's included in my membership. It's comforting to know that help is just a phone call away when you need it.

aaa towing was unresponsive
On 01/02/17 my daughter and her friend were driving home to california from las vegas, nv. She was having car trouble and pulled onto the shoulder of the freeway at 3:20 pm and called aaa. They said they would be there within an hour. She put her safety hazards on and got back in the car to wait. 2 1/2 hours later they called her to say they couldn't locate her and could not provide service. They said to call the highway patrol. Now her car battery is weak and her cell phone is dying. Aaa showed up after several calls to them from me, a worried mother over 4 1/2 hours away from her daughter. At 6:44 pm aaa showed up and said all they could do was tow her to the nearest gas station. They towed her one mile and dropped her off at a closed gas station at 6:59 pm and left, telling her no one could help until the next day. With several more calls and a lot of conversation later, I managed to get aaa to her at 9:01 that night. She arrived home at 2:44 am the next morning.
As far as i'm concerned, this was an epic failure on the part of aaa and I am disgusted by the service (Lack of service) they provided.
aaa
On november 19, 2016 I was driving home from the philadelphia airport on rt. 476 near west conchehocken when I had a blow out on my right front tire. I called aaa, which I have been a member of for more than 10 years. They told me that someone would be there in an hour or less. 45 minutes later I got a call from the man who was to come and change my tire only to find out that he doesn't change tires and that he was the only person on duty at 1:00am. He did call dispatch back and told them the situation. Dispatch was not sure they could find anyone to come and help. Another hour past before aaa called back and said someone from another area was on his way. Unfortunately, I struggled to change it myself. I did have the second person check my tire change to make sure I did it right.
aaa towing service
I was a member of aaa over 10 years. Never used their service until today when i needed it. I called aaa to get a tow and they denied my request to tow it to my house rather than a garage. I am the type of guy that fixes my own vehicles because i know how people always get ripped off when they bring their car to a dealership or private mechanic. I fought with the representative on the phone until they got manager approval to do this as a one time accommodation, but a note on my account would be made to say that i was notified that further tows would never be made unless it was sent to a garage. This was after being put on hold multiple times over a 20 minute period.
After getting off the phone, it dawned on me that they now have aaa car care centers popping up everywhere. There is one about a mile away from my house. I am sure that is where they wanted to bring it. What better way to take advantage of peoples unfortunate circumstances? Aaa should be shut down and fined for such shenanigans. I am asking for a refund of my membership fees and i will no longer be a customer of theirs.

sent a tow truck then expect me to pay for the tow
My son had a wreck, he rolled our jeep twice and it came to rest on its tires. It was in a solid grass field. There was a roadway entry into the field. I became acquainted with schroder's as aaa dispatched them to tow my vehicle. The driver arrived three hours after aaa's estimate. The driver told me aaa would not cover the cost of my tow because the vehicle had rolled over. I stated to him that aaa was informed of the fact that the vehicle had rolled twice and that i specifically asked them to send a flatbed as two of the tires were off their rims. The vehicle came to rest in its normal upright position on its wheels. The driver said he had to contact aaa as his job was on the line. He went to his vehicle for 1/2 hour. He returned and stated that everything was good to go and asked if i would move my car so he could get to my wrecked vehicle. The driver backed his rollback down to the jeep. The driver instructed me how to run the rollback. I had to operate the winch as he didn't bring a second person. I have no training on this equipment but, had to operate it regardless. Once my vehicle was on the driver's flatbed i mentioned to the driver that i wanted to change the destination to my father home, which was closer to the scene of the accident. He asked me to go wait in my car and he would come up. When he came up he informed me that aaa was not going to pay for the tow and that my cost was $485. He then proceeded to inform me that he could take the wrecked vehicle to cover the cost. I laughed at his misguided attempt to unethically abscond with my vehicle. This is a predatory practice that would work on unseasoned individuals. I contacted aaa and they assured me that they would pay for the tow since the vehicle was on its wheels. They also stated that they would pay the fee for picking up the vehicle if the distance from the road was less than 100 feet. I refused to allow the wrecker driver to take my vehicle in trade for his extortionate fee and instructed him to take it to the address i provided. Once we arrived at my father’s home, i demanded that he write the facts on my receipt and informed him that i planned to pursue the matter further. The driver stated that the vehicle was 65 feet from [the] road. [the] vehicle on wheels when picked up. The driver misidentified what type of tow this was by checking sling/hoist/tow rather than flat bew / ramp. I provided my information to the driver including my credit card number. He then informed me that he had charged my card $485. I again contacted aaa as they had assured me they would pay for the tow and that i should pay the driver for the extraction fee for being off the road and that they would reimburse me. The driver refused to drop my vehicle until i signed the tow receipt. I have called aaa since thursday and have yet to speak with anyone in their claims department. I left a message for alyssa o’connell the regional manager of claims on three different occasions. She has not returned any of my calls. I redacted my personal information for posterity.
Update: i finally reached someone in claims and they informed me that this is considered a recovery. Although the vehicle was in a position for the truck to back up to it, i am still expected to pay for the recovery operation. The vehicle was also on its wheels and the rollback was able to pull it up on the flat surface without special tools. Aaa will contact me within 48 hours to continue my claim.
roadside service
In sept 17th i called aaa for lockout service on my cadillac 2016. Two drivers showed up at the same time and one had waved to us to let the other service the call. Phone was dead and we needed help he damaged the driver door and would not leave asking for cash payment. We also needed a tow but we were left in the parking lot all night till the next day. I have been with a doctor's care and this had made things worse as we were stuck in t he car all night long till morning please have someone call us to update the info of this complaint. I believe we deserve restitution for the damages and the nehligence we recieved as a result of the aaa call center gross negligence in the matter please call. P. Anthony corrado at [protected]
international drivers license request and an employee
In august, i sent an application, a photo, a check for the international drivers permit, as well as my credit card information to pay for shipping. I received an email from employee: nikita ambersley stating that she was going to bill my credit card for $20.66 for priority express shipping from the post office. I okayed it per email and it was allegedly mailed out on the 29th of august 2016. I never received it so i called her and asked for the tracking number. She gave me the following tracking number#9470120999939420012172 and told me that since it was being mailed to an apo address it would take longer. I told her since i paid the $20.66 for the idp to be rushed to me, i should've received it by now. Another day, i called and told her after a month or so later that i never received it and requested another one to be mailed to me. She refused stating that she mailed it out and that if i wanted another one mailed out, i would have to pay the fees again for the idp and the shipping. I told her that i shouldn't have to pay for that. At any rate, the envelope with my idp was mailed to the wrong address in frankfurt germany instead of my apo address. The post office refuses to give me the shipping costs back and tripple a denied my claim for a refund. I believe that your employee nikita ambersley may have attempted to rip me off by charging me a high price on shipping because i never received a purchase receipt for the priority express shipping label. I also believe she may have purposely put the wrong address on their despite my clearly stating that it was to be mailed to an apo address so that i would never receive it and that i would have to pay the same fees twice. This is fraud and abuse due to the fact that she misrepresented the address so i wouldnt receive what i paid for and told me i would have to pay again for shipping and an application fee. So the total i've paid is $40.66 and i still don't have my international drivers license and i was refused a refund! This is absolute garbage and there's no way i am paying that again! I would like tripple a to give me my money back because what happened here was obviously fraudulent. I also want someone to investigate this questionable business practice. I am a disabled combat veteran who lives overseas and i don't appreciate being ripped off and taken advantage of. Please remedy this immediately as this is unacceptable. Thank you
Rip off and fraudulent practices!
adding my son
I added son yesterday as an associate. The woman was so rude. Is your son broken down -- he doesn't get the service for 5 days. I said no he isn't. She didn't go oh sorry. Just continued to be rude. Really? I have always liked aaa until yesterday. Don't be rude. Just state the policy. She was horrible. No my son was not broken down if he was i would have just driven there. You need better service people. Until yesterday i thought you were great! Not so much anymore. Now i think you all are just jerks. And there was no reason for it.
aaa roadside assistance
At 3 p. M. We called aaa when a tire blew on my father's 22 foot hurricane deck boat trailer/boat. We called aaa to send a tow. At 4 p. M. I called for an update and was told armory shell autobody in virginia mn was supposed to pick us up. When armory shell called (I assumed with and eta) they said... "no, we are not coming. You are too far away from us. " I later learned that this tow company frequently bails on the aaa calls they are assigned leaving motorists stranded and in danger. Aaa said they would send someone else and they would be there by 5:30. We waited. And waited. At 5:30. No one came. I asked aaa for the number of the wrecker service that was supposed to come. I called them directly. I soon learned that aaa reps told them the wrong location and the wrong size boat we were hauling. I begged this wrecker service to please please keep coming and not turn around. By this time the sun was setting and we were in grave danger sitting on the side of the road with an extremely large boat. He agreed to keep coming and finally at 7:30 pm he arrived and by 8:30 pm we had delivered the boat to a place that could help us get the trailer fixed. A five hour ordeal with extremely poor customer service and communication by the aaa reps. I want aaa to be more responsive to customer needs. Do a better job vetting the vendors they use to help their customers and do a much better job communicating with people when they are in distress. The second vendor service was highly professional. The first was not.
towing
So i am very dissatisfied with the service of aaa i called to have my car towed an i was told that if i'm going to sell the car then there is nothing they can do i am a platinum member an i can't get my car towed what am i paying you people for if you can give me a simple tow i am taking this up as high as i can until i get the results of my payments that i as a platinum member deserve
I find it highly absurd that people can call and lie to the AAA service people an get their services an I just want my car towed so it would be safe from impound bc it runs a little bad and needs to be fixed an I plan on getting rid of the vehicle eventually after repairs are made an car is in good shape they wont tow my car bc i plan on selling it what a load of crap how are you gonna tell me the customer that I pay for service but not if you plan on selling the car why not try to be honest an I get screwed an then they couldn't even tell me how much the tow would cost but I had to pay bc my policy won't cover then why do I pay for crap service I'm done with AAA bc of their bullcrap policies and flawed system I could've lied an said I'm going to fix it and not sell it but I'm honest person so sorry but now I wish I had done it bc the system is flawed learn how to run a customer friendly company an maybe more people would join
roadside service customer relations
4.30 pm yesterday i called aaa due to a flat tire and i couldn't remove the bolts to change it, the 1st operator took my location which was queens blvd between 55 ave and 55rd, he took my cell number 2 times as he read it back wrong the 1st time, "help will be there in 50 mins at the latest" he said.
5.40pm i call again, 2nd operator tells me that they cancelled it because i didn't give them an exact address and that i wasn't answering my phone, he said it would be at least another hour to wait and it was my fault for not picking up the phone and not telling them the exact address of where i was parked.
6.00pm i call 3rd operator and ask "what cell number do you have for me?", it was the wrong number, so operator #2 didn't even bother to check if they had the right number, just laid all blame on me, i was then told help will be there in 30 mins
7.00pm i call operator #4 (George) , "is your car a chrysler pt cruiser?" he asked, "well that's your problem right there" he said, wow!, so on top of total incompetence, rudeness and blame shifting i get an amateur comedian to make fun of the situation, excellent, 7.30pm mechanic arrives and takes 5 mins to get me on the road again, in 15 years as a member i have used them twice and both times they made a total mess of the situation, 100% failure rate. I will definitely be cancelling my membership, i will use my insurance company from now on
I was on the highway and blow a tire when a aaa tow truck came he scratch the front bumper really bad trying to get the tow hook cover off. I dont know why he was using a screwdriver when all u do is push it in and it comes right off.
roadside service
I called aaa for roadside service for my stall classic car saturday (September 17, 2016) at 7:12pm. I was told i would receive service in about 50 minutes, after a hour i called them back i was then told my eta had been upgraded! To another 53 minutes. Another passed & a aaa truck arrived & it was the wrong type of truck to service my vehicle. Finally at about 11:45 pm a flatbed truck arrived. Then to add to my frustration charged my $ 14.70 for towing over 3 miles either pay or they would hold my car. I should at least be reimbursed for the towing cost after waiting almost 5 hrs. Totally disappointed.
roadside assistance customer service
I pay every year for the 10 free tows. Plus rv. 100. For up to 100 miles 10 times. I called to have my truck towed to my mechanics house after i broke my foot. Two days later called to have it towed back to my house and they would not, saying it would be a cash call. The stupidest excuse for them was that by towing the car to that residential location (My mechanics house) they would have to charge me a cash call to tow it back to my house. Also, they said that even though i paid for ten tows i onky get 4 and hsve to use the other services offerred uo to the 10. Really? I pay for 10 tows and you want to tell me where to and from? I think not! I want everyone to read this before they pay for an upgrade.

Aaa haha if there service was a part of the alphabet it would be zzz dead last ! I have had no calls concerning any of my concerns when it comes to my claim! I always have to attempt to contact them... Very unprofessional. Let me make it simple cut dry dont no why ive been paying comprehesive insurance when they wont allow you to utilise your insurance! My car was vandelized they say it was a non fault collision when theres a big scratch in my car and theres no structial damage. Last time i checked if your in a collision your have body damage not a gash in you pant! So the type of loss they specified was collision not comprehensive witch is a $50 deductable so in order to have my car repaired i have to pay the $500 dollar deductable for a repair that was estimated @ less than $700. Crooks sick of big corperation courption why have i beeen paying for insurance that i thought id be covered for but have to oviously pay out of pocket for repairs. Fyi if you come into contact with the adjustor named marlene priolo might as well shoot your self in the brain cuz ur gona be more disapointed by her antics and unprofessionalism than that fatal wound to your head, also if you get her manager cathy well when they tell you one thing and you ask a question and they stay silent you no there is something is wrong then they go off the prompts off the computer screen as they read them off to you in a robotic fasion oh and not to mention cathy hung up on me attentionally want kind of manager leadership is that?! I want to be treated like a human or person or thats write a customer witch im paying you to be my suport of when ### happens to my vehicle... I was never provied any assistance or a care in the wrold... Wat a sham and trash aaa has become! I want service not argument... I demand to be treated rightly not as like i vandelised your car get your ### together...
roadside service
At 9:o5 am this morning (7/14) i phoned triple aaa for roadside service... I needed a jump. At 10:05 i called again to determine why is it taking so-o long since the weather was clear. I was told the driver could not reach me by phone. I told yourgirl that was a lie since i had givenher two numbers. She said i would now have to wait another hour.. At this point i lost my cool and demanded better service and it was the first time i had requested service, i paid my bills on time and certainly expected to be serviced on time i was transferred to someone else.. Who started again with the phone business.. I then asked her what was this punching in my phone numbers in business all about and she sais the first individual that took my call neglected to do this... Hello.. At last i got a direct honest answer!
By the way... All this delay cost me to lose my $50.00 deposit on a senior trip.. To starve rock... I feel i should be compensated for the delays and lie!
Get over it. When you call for a pickup, even without AAA, it takes a couple hours. They have more than you to take care of.
tow service
Hello my name is megan carter and i am riding with rose richards address 10549 lakeshore drive clermont fl.
Rose is a aaa policy holder, i would of been until this evening.
At 8:30pm my jeep liberty radiator pump blew leaving me, my fiancé and my mother in law stranded on the florida turnpike north bound 85 miles from. Home.
Rose called aaa expecting assistance since she is a gold member and has been for years. After speaking with a representative she assured us a tow was on the way.
45 min later we get a call from a different representative stating our location is not in there contract she would call us back after handeling the situation
Well we never got a call back and after speaking with several different people and being stuck on the side of a highway with no ac and three hours later we are finally getting a tow truck who is an hour away come rescue us. Oh and apparently getting stranded with three people is a inconvenience for your comoany and was the issue that caused this mess due to one of your employees named rachel.
This is by far one of the worst experiences of my life and i would be ashamed at how you treated us this evening.
Luckily no one has been harmed during this process, yet that is. Still waiting on a tow as i type.
roadside assistance
Recently i was traveling out of state and blew a tire on the interstate. I called aaa and was told that i was top priority since i was sitting on the edge of the interstate and it was dangerous. I waited for over two hours! Then when the towing company called me, he said that my location was out of his jurisdiction. I couldn't believe it. He asked aaa to allow him to come anyway since i had been waiting there so long. I have been a member of aaa since the 70's and have never had to wait that long - especially in such a dangerous situation. It was inexcusable to make me wait that long.
Not really. They are not magic genies. They have to find someone in the town you are stuck in to come get you. Sometimes, it takes time to do that. Then you have to wait your turn. Anyone calls ahead of you come first.
claims department
I was in a car wreck and the person that caused the accident was insured by aaa, they said my truck was a total loss and would be sending me a check over a year ago, aaa sold my truck even tho i never signed it over the title nor did i sign any other release, i never got the check but aaa said it has been cashed so case closed, robert smith head of claims isnt willing to do anything, this is fraud aaa took my truck and never paid me for it,
life insurance
I have had a small policy with aaa for many years. Responding to a mailing, i called for info and decided to upgrade my policy and apply for my husband. I was given false information regarding rates. I was told that a physical would allow for a lower rate of $102, or i could take the non-physical rate of $142.00. I told the agent up front that i had a misdiagnosis that caused many unnecessary tests and finally found out that i had gallstones, and recently had my gallbladder removed. I was told by the agent that no matter what, the most i would have to pay is $142.00, so it was worth it to me, in that i am retired on a fixed income, and having nothing to hide, we went with the physical. My husbands came through, he was denied the lower rate and had to pay the higher rate of $143.79, because his brother had a heart issue, (Caused by lifestyle) then claims at 6'2, 254 lbs he weighed too much. I was met with call after call stalling for weeks claiming all kinds of lies. They made claims my heart cath. Results showed i had a blockage. I immediately called cardiologist and was told that whoever was reading the results, isn't reading the report correctly, as i have no heart issues. Then aaa claimed they couldn't get the mammography information, particularly, previous reports. So i sent them the copy of the report showing everything was compared and normal from 4 months ago. Today i got a call stating that they are offering me a policy for approx. $210.00 !
I insisted on speaking to a manager, as i had twice before, so far no one is available. I am so disgusted. This is a real bait and switch in my book, the assurances of an assured rate of $142, apparently an outright lie. If you decide to get their insurance, save yourself much aggravation, take the non physical rate. However in my opinion you would be better to go elsewhere. I hope this helps you.
roadside assistance
Dear aaa,
You are a piece of ###! It is 10:04pm est now. I called you at 6:42pm est to obtain a gallon of gas so that i could make it home in a timely and safe fashion. I am not sure when companies got so big to not care about their customers who pay their hard earned money for your services but you have clearly gotten too big. I am a plus member but had to walk nearly 1.5 miles in the complete darkness to obtain gasoline so that i could start my car. I incredibly waited 39 minutes on hold while i walked to get that gas, walked back to my car and waited for someone at your company to answer.
I only stayed on the line 30+ minutes because i wanted to see if anyone would actually pick up. I thought that this was a joke that your company would put me on hold for 30+ minutes after waiting nearly 3 hours. I really thought your representative who placed me on hold was simply not interested in resolving my issue and just checked out but when your representative came back on the line i was more than humiliated to say the least. Not one apology, not one cause for concern from your rep who didn't care the least of my situation or what i had been through.
She made it seem like i was inconveniencing her when she simply said "how can i help you?" i thought there couldn't be any way she knew how long i was on hold for but she said she knew "exactly how long i was on hold". Even told me it was 37 minutes and "how can i help you?" i just waited 3 hours for your rep to tell me "how can i help you?" i hope you find that representative. I hope they review how you handled that call and put you in the same danger without a job as you left me in on that dark side of the road for hours.
Again, i don't know when companies got so big that they didn't care about customer service or that one of their customers was left behind on a dark expressway looking for the gallon of gas that would have gotten them home. I don't know what makes you think that aaa is the leader in automotive services but somehow impossible to go out of business. I know that we, the consumer, keep you in business. I know that we, the consumer, pay every payroll check you disburse. I know that we, the consumer, pay every bill, every check, every raise and every dime that your company spends. Not sure why you think you are invincible but i assure you that your company can easily be broken.
When i asked your representative for a refund after waiting 3 hours for a gallon of gas that would have taken me 30 minutes to walk to get when it was still daylight the response i received was a nonchalant "you're not getting a refund". I hope you find your employee and explain to her when a customer asks for refund after waiting for your services for 3 hours and then another 30+ minutes on hold that the only feasible response is absoultely.
You endangered my life tonight aaa making me walk in complete darkness in an area you wouldn't allow your mother to walk in. I doubt that you cared that i walked 1.5 miles to get gas when your vendor was unable to find the only on-ramp and/or exit that i was stranded on. I doubt that you think this testimonial will mean or do anything but i hope you understand one thing. The people of this great nation keep you in business and if for one second you think you are above that then maybe, just maybe, that will be the last second you will be in business at all.
To the vendor you sent that decided to take another call when i was in desperate need of assistance, i hope you fire them. To the customer service representative who claimed she was a supervisor i hope you replay the recorded audio on that call and disciple her actions. But to the companies that claim to have millions of members i hope you decide to do better than risk the life of your members who only ask to be provided the services they pay for and not be left stranded on the side of the road for 3.5+ hours.
I know one complaint won't put you out of business but if i could ask for anything it would be to hurt your pocket book so much so that the next time one of your customers has a complaint every employee at your company takes them serious. I want that refund for every year i have every been a customer of yours as i learned tonight that you don't give a fu** about me and that i can find better services from clearly anyone. I find you all to be unprofessional and completely incompetent. One night has changed every opinion i have ever had of you!
Aaa, you are a piece of ###! I want a refund for every year i have paid for your service immediately. You made me walk 1.5+ miles to get gas when your vendor was unable or unavailable to assist me for the 15 minutes it would have taken to help me out. I never want to hear from you again. My family never wants to hear from you again. I hope that this complaint changes your view on how you treat your customers. I will never forgive you for what you put me through tonight until your business is closed.
Sincerely,
Aaron m.

The aaa office in mesa, az is a joke. I went there 3 years ago to title and register my boat trailer and they said my paperwork was not in order. They refused to provide me with service. I went to the motor vehicle division that is right across the street and they said there was no problem with my paperwork and titled and registered my trailer on the spot. Fast forward to today. Same scenario. I went to aaa to title and register a brand new waverunner trailer and same thing, they said my paperwork was not in order. I went across the street to the mvd and told them what aaa said about my paperwork. Mvd said there was no problem with my paperwork and titled and registered my trailer on the spot. Aaa, you are acting as agents for mvd. It's mvd's rules, not yours. Learn and apply their rules, not yours. I'm done with aaa. I'm an almost 30 year member and i will not renew my subscription. I needed a tow about 25 years ago and their were no aaa tow service providers within 100 miles of where i was. Stuck. I needed a tow for my truck and boat trailer about 2 years ago and they said they do not cover boat trailers. Stuck. So... I have needed aaa service 4 times in the last 30 years and got nothing from them. Bye-bye aaa, you suck!
