I ordered a book for my child on August 17. It had a ship arrival date of the latest time of September 2. A shipping notice was emailed to me in August. On September 5 the book has still not arrived. When I checked the shipping status on the book just the label had been created but the book had never shipped. At this point, I contacted the company and said I wanted the order canceled and a refund as it was now too late, as school has started, and the book was going to be here three weeks after she needed it so I had to pay more to have it ordered from somewhere else to get it in time. They said I had to contact the seller directly and they had two days to respond which I did. The seller did not respond for the time period That was told to me. At this point ABE books said that they would refund my order. I went back-and-forth multiple times with them via email as they said that now the company I bought the book from was going to ship it even though I had gotten a confirmation that they would in fact refund me as it was too late to receive this book at this point. I just got another email quite a few days after I thought this was resolved saying that they went ahead and shipped the book and now I have to return it to get a refund even though I have multiple emails stating that I want the order canceled before it hadn’t been shipped because of how late they were at this point. So, even though they were in communication with me, they allowed the seller to re-ship a different book after I had canceled it and they confirmed this. Don’t ever use this company they do not stand by anything they say. they are very dishonest.
Desired outcome: As I’ve told him multiple times, I want a refund immediately.
"lable created" does NOT mean that the book was shipped. if tracking says only "lable created" you can be sure that the book has NOT yet actually been shipped
going through the AbeBooks Support is slow, arduous, and you may have to threaten to go to your state's Consumer Protection ageny with a fraud complaint.
I'm sorry for you and your child that the book your child needed for school did not arrive.
