Accurate Heating & Cooling came to my house on 7/31 to fix my AC. They charged me $89.00 for a diagnostic fee and another $84.00 for cleaning the coil. I think they charge $90.00 per hour for labor. I called to ask about their labor rate and the technician showed me a charge on his phone. When he left, he didn't give me a bill. I ended up paying $484.00 just for the valve, which is 6 1/2 times the price of $72.82.

They checked if it was under warranty and said the part was covered, but we'd have to pay $1175 for labor and freon. We agreed to have them fix it. On October 28, they came and fixed it, but I had no heat. I called and they sent a tech the next day who said he wasn't sure what was going on. Another tech came and said it was a bad TXV valve and would cost $900. I spoke to a supervisor, Ryan, who said they'd make it right. He called back and said a new system would be $6000 or replace the TXV valve. We got a second opinion and they agreed it was the TXV valve. We're running our furnace on emergency mode without the heat pump. We're upset that the issue wasn't diagnosed correctly the first time. They've already been paid for labor and freon, so it's not fair we have to pay again.
