Vinyl fence. Unacceptable work
I had Fence Ace repair my fence after Hurricane Ian. He charged me more the second time around than he did when he initially installed the fence, even though I already had the majority of the material. Then, he installed the fence crooked. The back fence line looked like a snake, curving it's way along the property line. He left old posts in the ground and refused to remove them. My fence sections are all different sizes. He refuses to reinstall the fence to the original specs. My gate is separating, they don't close or open freely and easily.
Desired outcome: Repair and replacement back to the original state of the fence prior to the Hurricane.
Poor quality work and customer service
We purchased a split rail fence with wire mesh installed by Ace Fencing. Supervising the job was Chris Keller. The day of installation, 23 late, I was not home when they arrived. Chris Keller became angry and yelled at my mom about my not being there. He started the fence in the wrong place and when she corrected him Chris Keller blew up at her, asking how she would and if I showed her where it was supposed to be. She told him I didn’t show her but I explained it to her that the fence was to start at the back corner of the house, go straight to the sidewalk and straight down the sidewalk to the bushes at the end of our property line. She asked him if he had the measurements he took at the initial meeting but he continued to yell and cuss and she heard him on the phone using profanity to describe her to someone. She went in the house to call me. My husband arrived at that time and Chris Keller directed his rage at him. He refused to show my husband with a tape measure the distance the fence was supposed to be (probably because he didn’t have the measurements) I was not aware that I HAD to be there the entire time because I never received a copy of the “contract” and therefore hadn’t read the terms and conditions.
Chris Keller required cash at the time of installment. When I offered him a check (because I rushed home to be there and didn’t make it to the bank to get cash) he said he was too busy working and didn’t have time to go to the bank. Throughout the installment time (~4 hours) I often looked out the window to see Chris Keller sitting in his pickup. Maybe three times he was talking on the phone. The rest of the time he was just sitting there. Only once was he not sitting in his truck…instead he was using my water and water hose to spray water on a bird.
The wire looks terrible. Chris Keller didn’t remove the mounds of dirt at the bottoms of the posts. Instead he just placed the wire around the mounds causing it to bow out and causing the fence to be wavy along the bottom.
In two places the roll of wire ended and another roll was started in the middle of a panel, instead of behind a post where it wouldn’t show. It looks amateurish at best.
There is about a 10” wide gap between the wire and the post at the side of our house. There is a hedge there. He cut the roll of wire and left the gap. My husband had told them to trim the hedge.
We purchased a 3' fence and provided 3' wire to go around on the inside. Our 3' wire shows above the top rail of the fence, meaning the fence was not set at 3' - it's too short! And the rails were not place facing the same direction. Some have the flatter edge out and some have the pointed edge out. Some don't even match all the others. It looks terrible.
The wooden gate that was installed looks like it was assembled using scrap lumber found in a dumpster. There is a crack in one of the support/frame pieces.
I asked for my money back for the wire installation (a mere $100) but Chris Keller said “NO”. He offered to fix one of the panels where the wire was overlapped but I wont allow him back on my property after the way he spoke to my family. He is not taking responsibility for his lousy work or standing behind his contract (which I finally got a copy of) of which the very first line says "Ace Fencing stands behind our work".
I’m certain that he made my wire look so bad on purpose just because he was angry.

I had a vinyl fence put up by ace fencing about 6 months ago the job was excellent they were on time installed it in one day and material was top quality I highly recommend Chris and Ace fencing they also cleaned up all material and they were all very courteous and polite
I have had similar experiences with this contractor, Chris Keller from Ace Fencing. He did not keep to a time frame. He blatantly lied and was rude and disrespectful in his demeanor. I am totally surprised that he is still in business. Do yourself a favor and steer clear away from this business.

Installed fence without permit
Ace Fencing installed my fence as requested and on 05/15/08 I was cited by the City of Las Vegas Code Enforcement because there was no permit issued for said fence. I called C.J. Snell, the contractor in charge of the installation about the problem. He stated that he would charge me $150.00 plus the permit fee to get the permit he should have gotten before installation began. He also stated I could apply for the permit myself which is impossible as it has to be filled out and signed by him.

I have had nothing but positive feedback from customers of Ace Fencing Inc. Ace Fencing Inc. told this customer that this fence would need a permit at an added cost or she could get the permit. The customer did not want to pay for the added cost and asked Ace Fence to proceed with the work. Ultimatly the customer did not want to pay the added cost and Ace Fencing removed the fence and refunded the customers money. The fence looked better than most in the neighborhood. The neighbors called code enforcement because of constant barking dogs in their front yard and this is what brought this problem on. In hind site Ace Fencing should have insisted on the permit and the customer should have controlled their dogs barking. Nobody wins except the neighbor.
