Jamie M is a superior project manager. His team was efficient and well organized. Jamie and the crew were here in the morning when I expected them. The shingles and plywood arrived as scheduled and so did the port-o-potty. The plywood tents protected my plants. The tarps in my family room caught most of the dust etc that happened when the four sky lights were replaced. I recently had a hip replaced and needed to go to a PT appointment on the second day and Jamie brought my car up close to the walkway and made sure I safely got to my car. At the end of the second day my yard was cleaner then when they started! I was extremely satisfied and highly recommend Vaillancourt! Adam Vaillancourt Roofing and Construction.
Adam Vaillancourt Roofing and Construction Complaints 1
Adam Vaillancourt's negligence, breach of contract, and substandard work has led to further damage, mold, and
Adam Vaillancourt's negligence, breach of contract, and substandard work has led to further damage, mold, and ventilation issues in our home. In June , we, John and Jane Smith, rendered services of your insured, Adam Vaillacourt Roofing, who was contracted to replace our existing asphalt shingled roof, install a 12-inch ridge vent on our home, as well as install 6 feet of ice and water shield at our property in Henniker, New Hampshire. Unfortunately, Adam Vaillancourt's negligence, breach of contract, and substandard work has led to further damage and ventilation issues to our property. On Dec 25th, 2021, we awoke to water in our kitchen as well as our attic full of condensation and water. We called Adam Vaillancourt Roofing immediately. On Tuesday, December 29th, a project manager named Jason M. came to inspect the situation. At that time, we were informed that our insulation itself was blocking our soffits, that our insulation was "old," and that that was creating our issue. Unfortunately, this was not the answer to our problem. The fact is that we do not have soffits in our home. This led us to believe that our ventilation was never assessed by the roofing company before installing a $15,000 roof. Our contract with Adam Vaillancourt Roofing stated that a 12-inch ridge line vent would be installed on our home, the vent install was confirmed via email from Jason M. Unfortunately, this confirmation was done without being informed. It is clear that a ridge vent was never installed on our home. Also, our contract stated that 6 feet of ice and water shield would be installed. It has been determined via pictures that Adam Vaillancourt Roofing sent us that they installed 100% ice and water shield on our home without any communication or consent. In discussing this with Jason, it was asked that his supervisor come out to inspect our home as well as address our concerns. During that meeting, we were extremely dissatisfied with the response, as Scott B, Director of Operations, stated that he saw nothing wrong and "what he would do for us is install a humidistat power fan." He did not address the fact that the ridge vent was not installed and that our ventilation was not properly assessed prior to install. We have not had condensation issues or water issues in our home prior to this roof being installed. Evaluation from a Mold Mitigation company proves that water and mold have not been an ongoing issue as it is localized. We feel strongly that this substandard work (not assessing ventilation, multiple breaches of contract, and poor customer communication) has led to the areas of mold as well as created ongoing condensation and added to adverse ventilation issues. We also have yet, after multiple requests, to receive an itemized receipt of the work that was done on our property. Adam Vaillancourt Roofing has not been able to address these issues properly, nor do we have trust in them to do the right thing. We have had multiple second opinions come to our home and have recently had a contractor write up an estimate for the work to be done correctly. We also have had to have a mold mitigation company come to our property to assess. It was deemed that this mold is new and that it is not widespread. If the "bad insulation" and "soffits being blocked for a long time" were our issue, we would have had a much bigger mold issue than we are dealing with currently. Our home is the place we are raising our children, and we cannot have these issues. We placed our trust in this company to perform the proper work in our home and that our contract would be adhered to. To resolve the problem and to prevent further legal action, we would appreciate your willingness to cover expenses in the amount of $3900.00 that we will now incur to properly mitigate the issues caused by Adam Vaillancourt Roofing's negligence and substandard work. Enclosed are copies of our records.
