harassment
Every day 3 to 4 times a day you are phoning and harrassing my husband to get my telephone number.
No1: you will never get my phone number
No2: my husband does not have an account with you and therefore you are publicly harassing him.
No3: we are married anc and he has nothing to do with my accounts.
If you do not stop this harassment with immediate effect I will:
1. Report you to the national credit regulator
2. Report you to the banking ombudsman
3. Report you to 702 and hello peter and facebook
If you have a query with me on my accounts you will email me.

personal loan :[protected]
I took a loan of R7000 on 30/03/2015 and I paid it off two months later on 30/05/2015.
when I review my credit scoring on the National Credit system, it shows that I am still owing African Bank R7, 855.00. I seriously do not understand what I should do so that African Bank can update their system so that this loan will show as paid off.
All other banks I had loans with showed that I have fully paid them back except for African Bank.
Can this matter be resolved urgently.
I only have one credit card at the Moment with a limit of R45, 000.00
Please send me an email on:[protected]@yahoo.co.za to confirm that the National Credit system has been updated.
I took a loan from African Bank on 30/03/2015 and paid it off two months later on 30/05/2015. Loan number is : [protected]. but the National Credit system shows that I am still owing African Bank R7, 855.00 This is not true and it is negatively affecting my credit history.
I would African Bank to confirm inwriting that I have fully paid the loan secondly African Bank must update the National Credit System so that my credit score can improve.
incorrect debt orders
Good day
I have logged a call with African bank on Monday (06.11.2017) After realizing money had been taken off my account.
I had paid up the loan / Credit card in 2015. I was then informed that money had been taken out that account and they where taking money out of my account.
I had been informed that they had escalated this and someone would then phone me with my issues.
I receive an SMS today saying they cannot close my account because money is owed to African Bank.
DO YOU NOT understand that i have already paid this amount and asked for this to be closed in 2015! In any business, how do you run a business like this.
I require some immediate traction with my complaint. This is totally unacceptable.
Thank you very much
bad service
Good day
I had an account with African Bank that was paid up. I forwarded all relevant documentation to them. They even send me an email indicating that they have received the money and sorry for the inconvenience caused. They send me emails informing that they will update my profile at all the relevant credit bureaus. Until now nothing happened from their side to do so. I can see that they are reading my emails but do not bother to reply to any of my mails. In the meantime this is influencing my credit profile and they just do not seem to care a thing.
service - delayed and unprofessional
Extremely delayed and unprofessional... Have no idea what they are doing. Their consultant contacts you, but then are unable to assist - why are they doing promotions when they cannot handle it? No-one replies to your emails or understands simple english. Process going on for almost a month now and still they are unable to assist, neither do they call back when the arrange to.
pathetic service
A month ago I did an online query for a loan. That same day I was contacted by African Bank to let me know I have been pre approved for a loan and a credit card. I went to a branch with my docs to complete the application and the consultant informed that he can only process if my payslip has a business stamp. I returned the next day with a stamp. It took them TWO weeks, 10 resubmitions, countless phone calls and emails to recognise a document with a CLEARLY marked stamp. Now I am even further inconvenienced where I have had to resubmit my docs again and again and again and NO answers. Every time I call the call centre at head office all they can tell me is that my application is at credit department and it will take 48hours. It has been 48hours everyday for the past week. When I complain then I get told I need to refer to my branch. When I refer to my branch I get told they need to wait for head office... All my phonecalls and trips to the bank to resighn docs is almost half of the value of the loan... This is beyond pathetic. I make a living in giving only the best customer service and I have NEVER in my life experienced this in my life... There are no words to describe the amount of anger and frustration without using profanity! Everyone should think twice if they fever think to do business with African Bank.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
loan
Hi,
I called african bank to request them to accept the r3000.00 payment from me for my loan account [protected]. I apoke to lucky makua and he discussed this issue with his supervisor. He told me that they have agreed and I can pay r3000.00. I paid r3000.00 via internet banking on the 21st of february 2012. I informed african bank about my payment. This amount is reflecting in their account but the outstanding balance is not zero. I emailed and contacted african bank to inform them and I have not receive any response from them.

I would like to check if my application for credit limit was succesfull or not
How to check if my application for credit limit was succesful
incompetent and unproffesional staff
I had to change account details at African Bank. I went into their N1 City branch with the proof of my bank that I had changed my account type and I was told by a not so friendly lady that they cannot accept that, they need a bank statement?! So I went to my bank and got a bank statement and went back to African bank to change my details. The girl that assisted me, Lauren Nicholls said that she will fax the statement to the department. She did not say anything else. Her answer to my question, 'When do I know that the details have been changed?' was, she would send me a text message?! I received an sms on my phone that the fax is unclear and I would need to resend the statement. I went back to the branch and asked them what to do now and also asked them to take the 'proof of change letter' and fax it to their department. Again, she did not let me know when the change will confirm. I asked her why it is so complicated her colleague raised her voice at me and eventually I left. I called the AB call centre and a very friendly lady called Violet managed to change the details in less than a minute! Why was I not advised in the first place that I can do it telephonically?Unbelievable!
interest charges rip off
My husband has also taken out a loan with them, and is in arrears, but pays them every week. However we receive statements and we have now noticed, that the money that he pays every week, just about covers the interest that they charge on this loan! How can we get them to stop adding this interest on the account? The loan was taking out in 2006 for the amount of R5000.00. I just feel that these people are ripping us off!
stay far away from african bank
I have got 3 personal loans and 1 credit card accounts with African bank.
I have not yet been paying my accounts very well and in arrears at this stage due to recession affected me financially, with all of them i am in arrears. To my suprise, over this past weekend, when i went to try to get a statement on how much i am owning, i was told that i have to contact the legal department where to me its a big shock.
I also visited Transunion and i have realised that i have been recently listed and to me its unfairly. Ok, i understand that i am owing but as i am in a stage that i want to continue paying or make arrangement, what are the chances of my removing my name because i was told that even if i settle my account, the default name will still be there for record purposes.
As i am now earning the money where i can afford, this is what i am asking, instead of having a lot of accounts, cant you offer me something like offering the full amount amount and then pay them off and then i have got 1 account or you tell me how much i am owing in all the accounts and draft a new contract say a 6 months contract with no interest and then i pay per installment.
I took a loan in 2013 with AFBank. I defaulted after losing my job however in 2017 I was contacted by Nudebt as collectors on behalf of AFBank. I gave them my ID no and asked them to check how much I was in debt and if they can offer a settlement amount to which they did and I payed off the settlement. I then asked if there was anything outstanding and the supervisor assured me that I was in the clear and sent me a paid up letter.
To my surprise this year 2019 I get a call from AF consultant and say I'm owing ! How do I asked and he told I had two accounts of which I refuted to those claims. I have called the customer complaints and was given an email address to send my documents to the Ombudsman for African bank. I got a reply requesting for my ID number which I provided them with, three weeks later I forward again another email to them to find out how far they're with my dispute and yesterday I receive an email from "Johanna" to say they have been 'calling me" with no avail which is ABSOLUTE LIES! I never missed a call from them. I need African to remove my name from TransUnion as it is hindering with my "Bond application process ".
disappointed and frustrated with the service
A week ago I applied for a loan(9 September 2009) with African Bank. I applied in Trumpshed I was informed on the day that it was excepted by Lerato and that I need to wait 48 hours for them to credit my account. Which I gladly accepted as this is African Banks procedure. when the 2nd day passed there was a delay because 'apparently' their systems were down and there was no money going out(which again I gladly accepted) On Friday I called the branch to query what was goin on I was informed that they were awaiting emails from the Head office and asked that I call HO which I did.Only to get the same rubbish from head office saying they awaiting the application from the branch(So who who do I believe)I've called this morning(14 September 2009) for an update only to be informed that its now awaiting authorisation when calling the branch(Spoke to Oupa) he asked that I call HO which I did again the same rubbish..he saidshe said. Eventually I just asked to cancel the application.HO informed that this should be done with the branch and visa versa from the branch.Im sick and tired of getting the run around. If its been declined for goodness sakes let me know so i can make other plan.
today african bank deducted twice from my banking account without me giving them the permission
Today African Bank deducted twice from my banking account without me giving them the permission. I'm very dissappointed in them. I contacted them and what do they tell me, nothing is reflecting their side. When i explained to them one of the consultants tells me to send a banking statement and fax it to them.
I asked her how long do they take to put the money back into your account she says 3 working days. They can do that but then they want to take their own time putting your money back. That's really not on.
they put people who do not have authority to make decisions
I had a loan of R10k.with African Bank in 2006, I paid up my installments as arranged until the loan was reduced to R7k plus late 2007, then I lost the job and could not afford to keep up with payments. In April '09 when I checked my credit record I realised that they listed me for R10, 612.00 which I subsequently paid off in June 15th'09. I then called their call center requesting them to update their records. I am not getting any joy, they keep telling me that I must contact their lawyers whose details I do not have, besides that I have paid up the debt., why am I getting the run around, when they could just up-date the record, I paid more that I owed for that matter. It would be so much better for these guys to stop utilising the services of the call centers because they put people who do not have authority to make decisions. I need help please. to date my credit records have not been updated, the next time I check my records will be bad debt written off which would realy be unfortunate.
make promises they can not keep
You know, just the other day I complained about african bank – the way they treat their customers, how they don’t listen to their customers and how they just call you on weekends at ridiculous time like 07:00 in the mornings. And it does not matter how many times you explain one thing, they call back and they call back. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I could not make payment end of july but they already accepted and said double debit will go off end of august which I agreed. This was last week the 18th of august. Guess what happened on the 19th of august – they try to debit my account. Please people don’t make promises you can not keep.
