$400 seat upgrade refund still pending
I recently received my Air Canada Covid19 refund of $2, 749.88 for my booking ref TARMY3 for my flights booked Feb 2020. However, my total refund did not include my seat upgrades of $400 and I hope you can remedy this asap.
When I booked my flight ref TARMY3, I also paid for 4 x $100 seat upgrades that was over and above the $2, 749.88 for the base tickets. On a phone call on Sept 14, 2020 I was told that I would be issued a full $400 refund for my seat upgrades. I was emailed 4 separate receipts/notices (see attached PDFs) and was told that the refund would be posted to my credit card on record. Unfortunately, the refunds were never posted. I am hoping that you can investigate and get my refund re-issued asap.
Thanks in advance, Steve Cislak
Desired outcome: Refund of $400 for my seat upgrades
air miles - cancellation
I booked my flights in March 2021, and received at least 8 changes from Air Canada to the itinerary because of the COVID restrictions. I called and had no issue changing tickets, as things were just opening up, but I still had to deal with many e-mails coming from air canada about changes to my ticket. On Thursday, July 22 my husband and I received a long anticipated call that meant that he would receive a kidney transplant and we had to rush to take a ferry and be at the hospital in a short period of time. He was scheduled for the surgery the next day. I re-booked the ticket to leave at a later date, but kept the return portion, no issue with Air Canada doing that. Unfortunately the surgery was cancelled at the last minute, and we were left having to go home. When I called to change the ticket the 1st. time, I was on the line waiting for 2 hours and 37 minutes before anyone answered. When the surgery did not go ahead, I called Air Canada to see if I could go home, as I had not seen my 94 year old mother for 2 years. She is experiencing health issues, and I am in a limited time to get home to see her. I was on the line waiting for 3 hours 4 minutes before I got through. I was told by the agent that if I wanted to change my ticket back to the original fly date, it would cost me an additional 30, 000 air miles, or just over $2, 000. dollars (I am flying with my grandson). I could not believe this. Air Canada, because of the flight being only a few days away could charge me a huge fee, yet, I am sure they already sold my cancelled ticket for a huge amount of money, so they would be collecting twice on our misfortune. The agent was not at all helpful, she was in fact rude and not at all concerned about the circumstance regarding this change in my ticket. She kept repeating this was what it would cost, she could not do anything about it, and not once offered that she was sorry about what happened to us. It is unfortunate this is Canadas official airline. My mother is not well, and I just hope that I can get home before her health further declines.
Desired outcome: An apology from Air Canada, and the acknowledgement that they are making money on the misfortune of others
I am complaining about luggage delivery on flight 403 from Montreal to Toronto on July 14th 8:00 am
I travelled with my husband who was going on business to Toronto.
My Husband, Paul Schachter, aeroplan number is [protected]. My Name is Peggy Schachter, aeroplan number is [protected].
We flew business class to toronto and checked one bag of luggage for the two of us .
When we arrived in Toronto our bag did not appear . They did manage to track it down around an hour later. It had been placed with bags that were connecting elsewhere .
I was happy the bag was found . I was upset as my husband missed the meeting that he was scheduled to attend as we were delayed at the airport . Also ... considering we travelled business class and had a priority sticker on our bag I would expect for extra care of these bags so this does not happen .
This was not a very enjoyable first business trip out since the pandemic
Desired outcome: I would like to somehow be compensated for the flight we took to toronto and the meeting that was then missed
Cancelling a flight after being at airport for 7 hours and not answering any questions.
My flight to New York for 2.00pm got cancelled after 7 hours staying at airport no answer no explanation, customer services are extremely rude with everyone not expected from people who still have there job because of customers and taxpayers with bailout money .Our airports are disaster in and out.
People how work in these places should be retrained again and again as a person who works with people everyday I cant imagine if any of my employees behave or talk with customers like that. I will make sure not fly air Canada again.
Refund during Covid-19 cancellation
I booked my flight with Air Canada for travel to Mexico on the dates April 20, 2020 through April 27/20.
When we requested a refund of the money paid we were given a travel voucher. After Air Canada made it's deal with the Canadian Federal Government we requested a full refund. We got the cash portion of the refund but not the refund from our Air Canada Gift Card.
I have tried to contact many times about this and the agents keep hanging up on me.
I would like an answer as to what has happened to my entire refund and why your service agents are so incredibly rude.
Desired outcome: Refund
Refund for flight cancellation
Our return flight was cancelled (booking reference with Air Canada: NN8CUP) and we were offered a refund in the form of a travel voucher for amount of CA$311.98 per person (CA$623.96 in total). Case nr: CAS-3144790-R7B5G4. That conversation with Air Canada was on Feb.1, 2021. We've received an email with a travel voucher for amount of CA$291.06 on March 21, 2021. We've tried to contact Air Canada over the phone however they do not answer any calls "due to unforeseen circumstances".
Please assist us to get our refund from Air Canada.
Service at Business checkin
We were travelling Business Class on Saturday June 28th to London England.
-To start with there were no signs as to whether this check in was for international, domestic or both! There was no-one to direct anyone to where the bag drop was if you had the tags.
- The service at the check in was atrocious! We waited in line for an hour ( which I do understand can happen due to the pandemic) but the service we got was uncalled for considering we were at the end of the queue and no one else was after us!
- The staff were very unfriendly and downright rude. The manager was very rude, literally just shouted as us while walking away.
There were 3 staff there who were all very rude and did not greet us or even looked at us to acknowledge us properly.
- We had an antigen test which is what was allowed per the website from the UK guildeline. I do understand that this was not right but there was really no need for the staff to be rude.
Their excuse is, "we are in a pandemic" so there are not enough staff!
- I am a pharmacist and deal with over a thousand phone calls a day as we vacinate at our store. We are still very friendly and help our customers no matter what. Customer service should not change just because we are in the midst of a pandemic!
- Without customers, these people would not have a job!
- At this rate, I do hope Air Canada is doing something about this, I was very dissappointed with the service, there is a lot of confusion and your staff can be taught to deal with empathy as there are passengers who may have a hard time with all the requirements.
- I travel frequently and have used Air Canada for most of my travels, but will now be considering other options!
- Considering the airport was fairly quiet, how is Air Canada going to manage when the travel restrictions are lifted and there will be many more travellers to deal with?
Desired outcome: Some form of reply to why this even happened and what is being done to rectify this
Missing items from luggage
In 2019 I Travelled from Vancouver to Windsor at Xmas Air Canada was chosen not by me personally due to previous horrible experiences but was instead a present from my family. I packed accordingly including Xmas gifts for my family in Windsor on arriving in Windsor at my parents condo I quickly realized a bottle of expensive alcohol was missing from my luggage I spoke to a representative in person apon arrival back to YVR filled out paperwork there and again online! Was told a discount was to be issued for a future flight within Canada Now on Saturday June 19 due to my father having a sudden stroke I flew again with your airline. Right from the airport check in me being distraught your representatives were bitter unwelcoming crusty ladies who sat in their chairs the one actually glared at me. I've never in my life had such despicable customer service. Especially at this time! I truly wish I would have recorded this encounter you would be as I truly appalled and embarrassed My stepmother paid for an online meal which I did not receive
Desired outcome: Would like my original discount promised and a free flight home when I decide
Customer service
I've made a called on Tuesday June 8 at 7:00pm and spoken to a customer service rep name Teresa( not sure if that the correct name) at 7:48pm regarding the booking reference : VDN5Y8. The customer service rep was not very polite and her attitude was not at all professional. I felt she was just finishing she shift and didn't want to assist with my inquiry. I've waiting 45 minutes or more to speak to an representative and she hung up the call. She placed the call on hold and moment later she disconnect the call. I had to recall the number and waited another hour to be connected. This representative definitely need to be retrain in customer service skill.
Desired outcome: More training

Because of two wrong recommendation instead of rescheduling, I spent my time to get antigene and PCR test at the YYZ. Because your two employees told me that I can fly if I get the tests. As a result they said I can not fly.
So I want full refund of my ticket.
1. 350 ch is not enough to explain my situation!
2. please do not say you have to contact e-dreams because the reason is not edream your staff

Refund for Cancelled FLights: COVID-19
Good Day.
I am writing regarding a recent partial refund from Air Canada through Expedia.ca.
Having had Air Canada cancel my return ticket from Halifax to Deer Lake and back on May 15th, 2020, I recently received a partial refund for one of the two tickets on April 29th, however attempts to find out if and when I will get the refund for the second ticket have failed. Contacting Expedia through their online support page indicates that they have no record of my itinerary and emails have gone unanswered.
Does this error lie with Expedia.ca, Air Canada or both? Even if it is with the former then I would hope Air Canada would be unhappy with the service Expedia is offering to their customers as this also reflects poorly on the carrier.
Flight Info:
~ Expedia itinerary is [protected]
~ Ticket number [protected] totalling C$228.99 for air travel with Air Canada.
~ Ticket number [protected] totalling C$208.29 for air travel with Air Canada.
The amount owing is $208.29.
I look forward to your response.

Issues with reservation
Travel disruption complaint by Gabriel Dakubo (e-mail: [protected]@gmail.com)
On 30th March 2021, I booked a ticket on United Airlines (UA) website for travel on the 23rd of April 2021 from Toronto to Miami, and to connect the next day (24th April 2021) with Cayman Airways to Grand Cayman. The booking went well and was confirmed (all documentations and e-mail correspondences available). This flight was between Air Canada (AC) from Toronto to New York, and UA from New York to Miami.
Upon arrival at the Air Canada (AC) gate at Pearson International Airport the morning of 23rd April 2021, I was told the plane was full and that my ticket or reservation could not be found. The agent at the gate advised me to call UA because the problem was not from AC. I did call UA 6 times that day. Neither UA nor AC accepted the blame. It was just finger-pointing with me left in the middle helpless. I asked AC personnel to call UA personnel to resolve the matter because it was between both airlines, but they refused. UA personnel said everything looked fine on their side, and even provided me with a code that was supposed to get me a seat on the AC flight from Toronto to New York. Again, the agents at AC gate told me they could not do anything with the code provided by UA.
Upon further struggle, I finally got to speak to AC manager, who also did very little to resolve my problem. She equally denied any blame by AC and refused my suggestion to call UA to resolve my problem. Eventually, the manager and an agent from AC suggested I book a new flight (AC910) that was departing the next morning (24th April 2021) from Toronto to Fort Lauderdale, and then travel to Miami by taxi to catch my Cayman Airways flight. Because I did not have enough money on me to purchase a new ticket, I called UA to cancel my current reservation and book AC910 to Fort Lauderdale the next morning. This was eventually done at about 5 pm (by this time I had been at the airport from 10.30 am to 5.0pm without food or drink).
In addition to the emotional trauma, this confusion immensely caused me financially as follows.
1. CAD$ 256.00: (difference between my initial booking on March 30th 2021 - CAD$ 362.98 and the rebooking on April 23rd 2021 - CAD$618.98)
2. US$ 76.75: Taxi from Fort Lauderdale to Miami airport
3. CAD$ 83.56: One night hotel in Toronto
4. US$ 697.69: Four nights hotel bill at Miami International Airport Hotel: This is because I missed my connecting flight to grand Cayman and had to reschedule for the next flight which was on 28th April 2021.
5. Food
This is a salient summary of what transpired. Was a painful day for me indeed.
Long delay tied to getting a voucher refund email sent
On 17 April, I called to get a new ticket voucher email released as the email that was to be sent was never received. Without the voucher number, I am unable to prosecute a request for a refund for the ticket. I was told the service standard to get another email sent was 4 business days. On 22 April, I called to advise that the email with the voucher information still had not been sent. On 27 April, a full seven business days after my initial request was submitted, I was informed that nothing could be done to expedite the issuing of the email and that there was no way for me to communicate with the office responsible for prosecuting the voucher email request.
Booking reference number is NCQOX5 - Last name Quinn
Desired outcome: Email sent with the voucher information so that I can process a refund request.
Unethical Behaviour
In December 2020 I purchased a ticket through Just fly for travelling by Air canada to athens greece. THe ticket had less than 5 hours stop overs and based on that I made my reservation and other ticket purchases in Greece. In April Air Canada changed my ticket, made me stop at an airport for 50 hours and I miss connecting flights. Just fly blames Air canada for changes, Air canada redirects me to Just fly and for any change Air canada is charging me $500. I believe the ticket is a contract between me and the Ariline and Air Canada behavior is unethical and maybe illegal. I want my ticket back to what it was or find alternative ways to meet the original dates of travel WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE..I did not make any changes to the ticket. IT is all Air Canada responsibility
Desired outcome: I want the original ticket or one comparable to the original ticket at no extra charge
seat selection
I have just been told that buying a ticket for a flight does not entitle me to a seat. I have to pay extra for that. This is nonsense so why do I now have to pay for a seat? Not a preferred seat, just a plain ordinary seat?
Aeroplan points
My name is David Westler and I am an Aeroplan [protected]), member for a long period. In the past, I've enjoyed redeeming Aeroplan points that presented great value. Recently, the New Aeroplan program points are making Aeroplan loyal customers a laughing stock, by reducing by 2/3 the value of the accumulated points. As such, the Aeroplan points redemption has a minimal value, which explains why Aeroplan advises rather check Air Canada travel costs. It is very disappointing to see the empty proclamations made by Air Canada Aeroplan advertising misrepresentation of a non-valuable proposition.
Cancelled flight credit
In july 2020, I received a credit for a cancelled (air canada) for return flight to Spain which had been scheduled fo April 2020.
I have a friend who booked for around same time, he also received credit but now I am informed that Air Canada (after Expedia contacted them) have opened a case for him to change/improve the credit restrictions.
Expedia has been no help, for some reason claim my origianl credit has not changed?

Lack of service and inaccurate information of resort
Hello,
We went to Antigua on Jan 3 to 10th 2021 and was not at all happy with the service provided by Air Canada vacations both on the Canadian and Antiguan side. The representative from Antigua was not at all on the ball in terms of the fact our flight was 5 hours late and reception of staff at the resort and potential food needs to the travellers coming into to stay at the resort.
Desired outcome: refund or free flight and resort stay in Antigua with proper services.
Cancelled trip due to COVID
Air Canada. Vacations Booking # [protected] Travel dates March 18 - 25, 2020
Upon cancellation I was told I would receive a credit for one year. Eventually it was extended with no expiry date. However with recent findings of the virus not letting up there is no guarantee I can take this trip in the near future. The original trip was for my 60th birthday. My partner also has health issues which includes COPD which puts him at a much higher risk than most plus his age of 65. My tour operator informed me that the credit is transferrable however why am I put in a position to find someone else to buy it when I was not the cause of the cancellation? Also I have paid $2600 for service I have not received and cannot be guaranteed I will receive. That means my money is being held and I'm being held ransom while your company earns interest. My request is a full refund because as of this point there is no guarantee that we can travel ever especially as there is no guaranteed Cure for this virus so who wants to take a risk to travel as our own government is advising us not to travel. I truly hope you will consider refunding me the full amount.
Desired outcome: Full refund
