The leasing agents will tell you all sorts of lies to get your app/deposit/processing fees. When you get your apartment, after you have signed the contract, you will have found out the hard way. you will discover this company, builder (Trammel Crow), and anything that says Alexan is a rip off. BE WARNED! STAY AWAY.
So many of the aspects of our lease that was promised when we signed was either very late or never happened. When we visited the apartments, we were told one price for deposit and then charged another when we signed less than 24 hours later. Management also promises a 24 repair policy but some repairs have taken more than 2 weeks to get fixed. The treadmill in the fitness center has been broken for over a month and still hasn't been fixed.
I agree with the previous post. Stay aware from this place. While the management may seem nice upon meeting them, don't be fooled. They are just trying to lease apartments, no matter what lies they have to tell.
Management at Alexan Woods Apartments are unprofessional. They are overcharging on everything from apartment units to water, sewer and trash. They are disconcerned with the residents and only want your money. The property is unsafe. There is only one
working enterance and exit gate...(fire & safety issue). Crime going on daily at the complex, residents are rarely if ever informed. Breakin's, Assults, Stolen Vechiles and Shootings. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY AND MANAGEMENT, IT WILL ONLY BRING HEADACHE'S!
Foolish ill informed ignorant residents/tenants who fail to read notices that are distributed regarding any type of crime awareness. Records are always kept on file. Complaints regarding water bills, take it up with the county as they are the ones who charge more when in drought as well as any billing errors they make! As for treadmill repairs, those logs are kept on file as well, and management calls in repairs for them as soon as a complaint is received. Exertech is the service company. Maintenance is prompt and efficient but some items are under warranty which limits the repairs management is able to make. So all warranty repairs require yet another company to service those needs. Crime, be realistic. The Woodlands Mall has reports of stolen vehicles daily during the winter season. 24 hr Fitness in The Woodlands has vehicles broken into that park by the woods. Another apartment complex close to the mall had a shooting (in the stomach) and robbery occur 6 months ago. Crime happens unfortunately almost everywhere. If you think you can escape or prevent it, then you have another thing coming to you. Molly's Pub reports of 5 vehicles broken into in a matter of minutes and all in one night.
Rather than address the matter, Woods simply defers blame because they have your money. Interesting tactic. Take some responsibility, allow a courtesy officer stay in an apartment for free - see if that cuts down crime. Just two nights ago, I was awoken at 2:30 in the morning to what sounded like gunshots. The pool is NEVER opened at 10am. You call the office, "Oh, we'll send someone." which means, they'll call someone ELSE to do it. Take responsibility. In fact, they keep so much chlorine in the pool, you can't see your feet in a three foot deep pool. The amount of chlorine causes constant closures. Also, the gym isn't open from the hours their policy specifies. You call them, "Oh, there's something wrong with the door." Take responsibility. I'm a responsible resident. I read my lease - Alexan Woods is breaching THEIR contract.
Spoke to an attorney. Excellent potential for winning a class action lawsuit.
Extraordinary amount of complaints and violations, so will have no issue with the petition.
Business practices are sketchy at best, illegal at worst.

Rent and parking inflation way over market price. Unkept buildings raising safety concerns ie broken locks on trash and recycling rooms. Many homeless are staying in these unsecured rooms doing drugs which is a safety threat to paying residents.
