Moving and storage
Do NOT use this company! They are shady as it gets! This is truly an honest review. First this is a broker, this company makes arrangements with movers, so, you're paying extra for a middle man that you do not need. The customer service is wonderful before you make your down payment, then it's all down hill from there.
No one comes to your house to do an inventory, they just go over a list of things and ask you what you have in each room. In my case the "problem " ended up being my queen bed (which they ask, "what size bed do you have?" (That's all) And my 15 medium plastic totes and 4 large plastic totes. Be advised that what anyone else would think is a medium tote, their hired movers said were large totes (they were 28 inches Long by 18 inches wide and 18inches deep) a shoe box is considered a small tote and a tote half the size e of my medium tote is what they consider large. My bed, is a queen size platform bed with 4 drawers. 2 on each side, but all that was asked durIng my inventory phone call was "what size bed do you have?" Because my plastic totes were now considered large and extra Large and my bed was " much more difficult to take apart than a normal bed frame ", I was told I needed to pay the movers $1600.00 extra over and above the $2900.00 I was quoted when they arrived at my door (with NO one hour ahead phone call). What choice did I have? It was Thursday and I was starting my new job Monday. They also charged me $75.00 to walk up 4 additional steps(1 flight is 8 steps not 12).My move was a 9.5 hour drive, and because I had to stay and clean, I left the next day for my new destination, so the moving company so kindly gave me free storage for the night and all I had to do was call and let them know when I was ready for my stuff. I told them, I will be there the following evening and they could deliver Saturday morning . But because "it's the Saturday before Christmas" (and once they now had possession of my belongings) they couldn't make that 9.5 hour drive until after New Years, and despite what they verbally told me, the contract, in small print said they had 7-21 days to deliver my stuff 9.5 hours away. Long story short, I received my stuff 2 weeks later. The two guys who delivered it were very kind and hard working, buT, the guys who originally loaded my stuff (and took my bed apart which cost me an additional $1500.00) lost all of the screws to my bed, so the delivery guys could not put my bed back together for me (as promised in the contract). I had to spend an additional $40.00 for a new hardware kit from the bed manufacturer and put the bed back together my self. I caught their customer service people in lies, I could go on and on... The only saving grace I had was nothing was broken (because I did all of the packing myself) and aside from losing the screws to my bed, I did receive all of my belongings. $4100.00 (up from $2500.00 at the last minute) for a 9.5 hour move for a very lightly furnished 2 bedroom apartment (one person lives in), is sickening. Sickening! There's more to this this story but it's just too much to keep writing about. Trust me, I am a professional and educated person, trust me when I tell you, do NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Moving company
I will start out by saying that their pricing was competitive and that is the only reason I am granting them a 1 star. Remember that's an f in school.
I made a move from ca. To tx and was starting a new position here. When I reached out to allegiance I told them that I was starting on 10/7 and that I needed to be certain that my delivery would be here on or before 10/6 and reiterated that it was of the utmost importance and they assured me that would be no problem at all because they called their carrier and he confirm that wouldn't me an issue. Well it is now an issue!
It is 10/14 and I still have no earthly idea when or if my stuff will be arriving, I called and called and called no less than 10 times and that is an underestimate and had no return calls from anyone. I didn't get a call saying they were not coming. I didn't get a call saying there was a delay. When I called the guy that packed me he said his part was done and there was nothing he could do. When I called allegiance no call back, when I called their carrier no call back and yep you guessed it crickets.
I finally filed a better business complaint and guess what I got a voicemail, but now that I call back I cant reach the guy on the number he called from.
Well in short if you don't mind not know when your stuff will or if it will arrive then go ahead and pull the trigger with this place. At best they are just horrible and at worst literally criminal I will know that answer hopefully in the next few days as they don't seem to feel its important to keep you up to date if they have all your worldly possessions and you have no idea when they are going to arrive after being more than a week late and care even less if you have any idea at all if they're ever going to get around to delivering them.
This company is a con and you have now been warned. They do not care about your stuff, your move, or your time-frames (even when they assure you that they do). All they want is to take your money and then it's screw you!
Never moved furniture
These people picked up our furniture, never delivered it on the day they promised or any day thus far, Collected money for moving it, then ignored all of our phone calls thus far. Do not use this company, My current experience is that they are unethical liars, verbal commitments never fulfilled, conducts business unprofessionally. Seems they excused used is driver is stuck in traffic, while they collect your money
Moving services / dishonest, fraud
My contract stated that I would be moved by Allegiance Moving/Storage between May 30-31, 2019. Despite numerous phone calls to the company and continuous promises that I would be moved on the dates states on my contract by employees named Jordan, Jo Ann, Stacey, Jessica, and Neil Donovan, movers never came on the contractual dates, and NO ONE from the company initiated phone calls to me to explain any of the delays. Instead they denied there would be any delays and promised movers would be there the next day. Movers never showed up until June 3, and they were not from the company called Interstate Moving which Allegiance Moving stated would be our movers nor was a driver named Mike involved in my moving process which the company continues to refer to. They do not have any documentation stating that Mike from Interstate Moving did NOT move us. Instead, a man named Eric from Angel Moving showed up to move me on June 3, 2019. Eric has no affiliation with Interstate Moving, and Allegiance Moving/Storage has no documentation that Eric and Angel Moving were the moving company. Jordan from Allegiance promised the driver would give me $200 for the delayed moving, but I never received the money, and Eric, our mover, did not know anything about this, said he was never told about this agreement, and refused to pay me the $200 I was promised by Jordan and Allegiance. The company claims that Mike from Interstate Moving paid me $100 upon delivery of my belongings, but no man named Mike moved me; the moving company that actually moved me never heard of Mike or his company; and Allegiance cannot provide me with a signed receipt stating that I was paid the $100 that Mike claims he paid me. I never even met anyone named Mike.
Angel Moving company hired Craig's List people who are unqualified and inexperienced to move our belongings in WV. It was a couple who was off for the day and had no experience. Most of our belongings were dropped repeatedly during the moving process and walls were dented at our rental house in WV. In KY, Angel moving hired more Craig's List people to move us who were contractors, not movers. My contract with Allegiance stated that I would be moved by professional movers between May 30-31 by Interstate Moving. I was not moved by Interstate Moving. When I questioned the two people who showed up to help, they stated that they had no affiliation with Eric's moving company or Interstate Moving/Relocation or Allegiance Moving and Storage. They reported that they simply answered a Craig's List ad that movers were needed in Weirton and since they live in the area and he had the day off working construction that he and his wife answered the ad to help move. Many of our boxes were wrongfully placed in the garage instead of the clearly marked/designated rooms on the boxes, so we had to hire help to move the heavy boxes to the rooms they belonged in.
No one will allow me to speak with a manager. The company cannot provide their CEO's name/contact information because it's only his cell phone. This company does NOT care that they breached their contract multiple times, poorly treated the customer, caused delays in moving causing my family and I to be displaced for an extra 4 days, owes me money, etc. Jordan tried to blackmail me by stating that he would give me $100 if I signed an e-document stating that I would not write any bad reviews or take further action against Allegiance. This is the short version, and I have over 2 pages of more details. Also, after May 30 they restricted my access to my online contract with Allegiance for they marked it as "complete" despite not being moved, and I had to make numerous phone calls to the company to access it. This is the most dishonest company I have ever dealt with, and the company refuses to make it right without blackmailing me.
Stay away
To be fair, my first experience with Allegiance was great. The movers got the job done in less than three hours, including a stop at my storage unit, and the charges were $237 less 5% discount. So, when it was time to move back to my original neighborhood, I felt assured I would get a good, minimum deal. I specifically asked for these guys again and was assured I could have them as mover again, but another crew showed up.
The second experience with these ripoff movers was a horror. They arrived and one was in a bad mood. They took their time getting started, there was a disagreement in the truck between them, they moved slow, they loved to tape and tape and wasted a lot of time preparing for this less than 5-mile move. Most of my boxes were well taped anyway. They taped and taped and blanketed my cheap furniture for a less than 5 mile move. I have less blanketing and taping for a previous cross-country move. I finally told them to stop. Just load the stuff. We are wasting time. A contract agreement was to supply wardrobe boxes. There were none. So, one mover wasted 10-15 minutes of my billable time building one while the other guy stood around, same guy who spent some time on his cell phone. I ended up stuffing most of my clothing in plastic bags. I had to ask them several times to get moving, this is my time, they were so slow. When everything was finally loaded, the double-billed drive time was slow, slow, slow. Just checked today. Main street we drove the speed limit 45 mph, but they cranked about 20 mph. They got their truck stuck in a gas station they used to turn around, wasted another 10 minutes or so, assured me I would not be billed but was anyway. Billed something like $30.00 + on packing when all they did was put a portable a/c in a medium sized box for a 3 block drive to storage. I bought a box like that for $2.50 last week.
I think I was "had" when we finally arrived at the new place and he told me he would not unload until there was payment in full. So, I handed over the money, got the credit card out, and they charged my $377.23 for essentially the same move with the same storage stop and same driving distance. The second move was easier as there were about 20 less boxes to deal with. Once payment was made for the full job, they started to move fast and I never was given the option to sign off on the end time.
When I called Ryan to complain, it was oh sure, send a complaint, but I had heard no response. I have filed a BBB complaint and have more complaints to file. It has been several days and no resolution or contact at all.
What makes this more a ripoff is that there was no attempt on their part to resolve this. I asked specific questions that were not responded to due to an almost illegible bill copy. Need I say -- stay miles away from this company.
The worst ever movers, never use them. They give you a low price quote first and then 2 days before the move they increase is by 50% and they tell you either pay or lose your deposit and no refund.
Never ever talk to them
I hired Allegiance to move me across the country. Unfortunately they contracted Unique Van Lines to do the actual move. I have had a ton of problems with Unique and 4 weeks later still do not have my belongings. My stuff was picked up the 13th of Sept and may not arrive until the 28th of October. That is just unbelievable!
They sell you on 7-21 days- This is NOT TRUE! Its up to 30 BUSINESS DAYS... which is 5-6 WEEKS!
BE AWARE.. WHEN YOU BOOK ALLEGIANCE, YOU AREN'T ACTUALLY GETTING THEM!
So all those good reviews arent for the company you will actually get. Unique has a ton of bad reviews. I did not know I was working with them until loading day. READ THE FINE PRINT!
When you call to complain, they just hand you off to the contracted company and say " they arent us"
