Angels Of Siberia kitten had her microchip fall out

We got a beautiful kitten from Angels of Siberia last fall-it was very clear this kitten had not been socialized to people. Her microchip which I was always able to feel on her left side of the neck was always at the skin surface, It worked its way out & now we have to pay $50 plus whatever activation fee for a new one. Also she has severe stomatitis & has had it since my vet first looked at her if at some point she needs to have her teeth pulled, it's going to cost us $7000. Communication was always sketchy & she doesn't follow her own contract as far as vet visit timing goes so I was always confused.

Desired outcome: We should receive at least the new microchip fee and if any activation fee, since we already paid one before.

Angels Of Siberia Siberian cat breeder

I cannot recommend Angels of Siberia.

We bought 2 kittens from the same litter in early 2017. One of them immediately developed an eye infection, ear infection, and had internal parasites. We took care of all this at the vet, and then both kittens immediately developed ringworm. This was just weeks into our owning them. We have no other pets, and we never let our cats outside. I contacted Angela. She was evasive and pushy, but eventually agreed to pay a small amount of the vet bills.

A few years later, the same kitten developed a tooth problem where his canines scraped up his gums and made eating painful. He had surgery to have those removed and then was fine.

Now, at age 5-1/2, he has developed severe crystals in his urine, probably due to urinary tract disease. We've tried to manage it the past few weeks, but after spending $1,000 at the vet, we couldn't do anymore. We are brokenhearted but asked the vet to put him down. She is a lovely woman and found a trusted, wealthy client who offered to pay for all the procedures he needs and adopt him herself. It'll probably be 10,000+ dollars. We agreed to relinquish him, and we'll receive no updates. We are just heartbroken. He and his sister are incredibly sweet, beautiful cats and truly part of our family. We're still trying to adjust to his being so suddenly gone, but we're also thankful he's given a chance to live and be loved by someone else.

I fully believe that Whitaker has had all these health problems because of the poor management and unhealthy cats of Angels of Siberia. I'm afraid this is one of those heartless, cruel breeders who don't care about their animals or the people involved but treat them like objects for money rather than managing their health like a person with a heart and soul would.

Please don't buy from Angels of Siberia.

Angels Of Siberia Business practices

I want to warn potential buyers of Angela, the owner of Angels of Siberia, and her deceiving business practices. Based on other reviews, other buyers have had issues of buying sick kittens from her that died months later. If you're considering buying a kitten from, find someone who has integrity and will not ghost you if an issue arises. I am grateful we dodged a bullet with her but I do want to share my experience to warn others.

I put down a deposit to purchase two kittens from her, so $800 total. We paid the deposit 3 months before they were ready to be picked up. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to purchase them and notified her 10 days after we put the deposit down. She made a verbal agreement that if she sold the kittens that were reserved for us, she would refund our deposit. I also suggested that she could keep half of it, $400, for her time if we could just settle it and go our ways.

Update: She did sell them -- you can see what kittens have been reserved and sold on her website. Well, several phone calls and texts later, she completely ghosted me. Her website states, that deposits are non-refundable but she said she would honor a refund if she sold them. She even said she was confident that it wouldn't take long.

When we first discussed the potential of buying two kittens from her, she was extremely responsive. She responded to all of your questions via text or phone call and was pleasant to deal with. She does pressure you and stresses the urgency of getting one asap because they are flying off the shelves. As soon as there was an issue, she was rude and totally unprofessional. She is not who she comes off to be when you're a potential buyer. She is a cut throat cat breeder who only cares about money. She doesn't care about you or if there is an extenuating circumstance. If your kitten gets sick, good luck getting her on the phone or getting a response. If she is this way with an $800 deposit, which she made back since she sold the kittens we reserved, what do you think will happen if your kitten gets sick or dies and you paid $3400 for it?

She will ghost you! Beware and find someone that actually has a level of integrity, professionalism and empathy. I learned a painful lesson as my gut told me she would be like this but we were dazzled by the thought of having kittens in our home.

Desired outcome: Refund of our deposit, even 50% would be acceptable.

Angels Of Siberia My Cat, from Angel of Siberia, Died of FeLV induced Lymphoma

We brought home our sweet Chinook back in February 2019 from Angel of Siberia in Auburn, WA.

A month after we brought Chinook home, he was riddled with ringworm.

In June of 2021, he tested positive for Herpes (which can lay dormant for years).

On November 18, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Chinook after a quick and dirty fight with Lymphoma, caused by FeLV. He was only 3 years old.

Chinook deserved to live a long and fruitful life. Our emergency vet was certain that he contracted FeLV from his mother or other cats at the cattery—since that was the last time he was ever in close quarters with other felines. We never let him venture outside of the home into the neighborhood because we knew there were a lot of outdoor cats roaming about. We would, however, take him car camping and on short little road trips—but again, our emergency vet said it was highly unlikely that's how he could have contracted the virus since we were never around other cats at any point and time. Not to mention the virus is not hardy and doesn't live long on surfaces outside of the host's body.

The latest data shows that for cat to contract FeLV, they need to be in direct contact with other felines for long periods of time in close quarters—like a cattery.

I'm sure, like what I've seen from others on Reddit and different online boards, that Angela would blame us for not properly taking care of our cat, but I can ensure you that we did everything in our power to keep him safe, happy and healthy. And he was. Until he wasn't. It was a combination of an irresponsible breeder and malpractice from our vet at Banfield in Ballard—they simply did not follow the AHAA guidelines for vaccinating and screening kittens for FeLV under the age of 1 year. In fact, Banfield is not considered an AHAA (The American Animal Hospital Association) accredited veterinary hospital. If you take any of your pets there, especially cats, I highly encourage you to consider an AHAA accredited vet, like VCA Hospitals.

Angela had also claimed that all of her adult cats were tested negative for the FeLV virus. But those are her claims, and we never saw any official pathology test from her vet. She had literally written it on a piece of paper and taped to an official-looking document "All adult cats have been tested negative for FeLV". Key word: "tested", not "vaccinated". Most likely because the vaccine can be quite expensive, and with as many cats as she has in her cattery, I'm sure it would be very costly to vaccinate every kitten and adult cat.

I recently attempted to contact Angela's vet from A Pet Clinic of Kent, but have been ghosted. After more research, they are also not considered an AHAA accredited vet hospital. You would think, seeing that this is her lively-hood, Angela would take all of her animals to an accredited vet hospital—either AHAA or AAFP (The American Association of Feline Practitioners).

I write this in hopes that someone looking for a Siberian will consider another breeder. We went with Angel of Siberia because we would not have to be on a wait list—which I now understand is a red flag. Like other posters have mentioned, she has way too many cats in her home, which can lead to deadly diseases and broken hearts. I should also mention that when I asked to see the parents, she only brought out the father, who was terribly matted and didn't look all that taken care of. I should have left then, but the temptation to take the kitten I had in my hand was too much. Chinook ended up being one of the best things in my life. I love him so much, and I can't imagine my world without him.

A Siberian is a special breed of cat. Please make sure to do as much research as possible on a breeder, and be willing to wait for your kitten—it will be worth it.

Angels Of Siberia Cat diagnosed with FIP. Not even a year old.

Bought a Siberian Forest Cat from Angel of Siberia and received a 3 mo old kitten in Oct of 2020. By Feb 2021, kitten started experiencing health problems. At first, we assumed it was stress related due to a remodel happening in the apt adjacent to ours.

However, when symptoms worsened in March 2021, we contacted our vet. Took samples and confirmed FIP.

Cat has never been exposed to other cats and has really only left our apt to see our vet.

Experimental research happening in FIP treatment, but nothing approved in the US.

Clearly, this cattery has health issues. We reached out to Angela and barely got a response back.

Do not buy from this breeder.

Desired outcome: Money back and an apology.

This Cattery is unsafe and produces sick animals in large quantities. We purchased 2 kittens from her. One kitten was diagnosed with FIP 6 months later. We were devastated to see our beloved pet dying ! Before the FIP we got a second kitten from there and tiny fur ball had nose bleeding the next day! We rushed him to the vet to find out he has a virus and was not properly vaccinated. Stay away from this Cattery if you want a healthy pet.

FIP is not a contagious disease, it is a mutation of one of the many types of coronavirus that cats can get. Vets do not know if a cat is genetically predisposed to it. Many cats have coronavirus, I have only 4 adult cats and 3 litters and one of the kittens was diagnosed with coronavirus. My cattery is clean and litterboxes are cleaned daily.
Even if a cat lives in an apartment the owner can track it in.
"FCoV is a very contagious virus, infecting nearly all cats who encounter it. The major source of infection is the faeces of infected cats, and uninfected cats become infected by sharing litter trays with infected cats. The second major route of infection is the unintentional exposure of uninfected cats to tiny particles of infected faeces on people’s shoes or clothing, hands, poop scoops, etc. The infected cat likely swallows the virus when grooming, or when particles of faeces contaminate their food."

Angels Of Siberia Cat breeder

We bought our beautiful fur baby from Angels of Siberia December of 2016. We brought her home and already were dealing with heath issues. We knew she has upper respiratory problems based on the info sheet we received from the breeder. After we got her home we noticed her eye was really watering and pussy. She had an eye infection which we treated. Then a month later after our baby girl did not have a solid stool was diagnosed with feline corona virus. The breeder said if we brought the cat back to her she would take it to her vet for check-up but we lived 10hours away and we were already in love with our baby so we opted to just give her the best life. She lived an adventurous life with us and we managed her symptoms as best we and our veterinarians could until January 2021. The virus manifested and she passed from FIP. She was only 4 1/2 years old. We are beyond heartbroken.

We reserved a kitten from this Breeder, patiently and excitedly waited for it. Clearly, a contract was signed. Months passed by. Prior to receiving it, she vaccinated the litter and most of the kittens died. Sad, very Sad! We then had to wait yet several months for a new kitten from another litter. The week before we were supposed to receive our kitten and having 7 months to get a kitten that we were very excited to get, corresponding all the time, getting photos and updates, this breeder up and decided that we would not get the kitten we reserved. NO EXPLANATION WAS PROVIDED. Several attempts were made to correspond with this Breeder and NO RESPONSE, NO REASON, NO RATIONALE, clearly there is something going on here that should not be, anyone who is afraid to not correspond is clearly doing something they should not be or making improper judgements, etiher way its wrong. We are outstanding cat people spending thousands of dollars a year on our cats and modifying our house with cat trees, toys, catios, etc. so this was crushing. This breeder is absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL! We also know someone else who recently had their siberian kitten from this of a year pass away, Clearly, reading the other reviews and our own experience I would clearly suggest you NOT DO BUSINESS with the Angels of Siberia Cattery. We are disgusted with them and obviously other people in their reviews are heart broken as well. My heart goes out to them as well. Terrible terrible situations and cattery.

They keep saying that almost all cats are exposed to Coronavirus at some point, but that only few develop FIP. Are siberian kittens ..or kittens from this cattery predisposed? It seems like a high percentage of kittens are developing fatal FIP.. :..(

I am very sorry for the loss of your cat. 41/2 is not long enough for the cats life, but long enough to build a relationship. I totally understand your frustration. All cats from the shelter or from the breeder are exposed to corona virus at some point of their life. Only a small percentage develops FIP. FIP cases increased since COVID 19. Based on the article provided and in case the link does not open here is the summary. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7911697/
Domestic cats can be infected experimentally with SARS-CoV and develop active infection, shedding, and pulmonary changes very similar to those seen in fatal human cases [32]
5. Evidence of Human-to-Cat Transmission of SARS-CoV-2
At the time of writing (30 December 2020), there have been numerous sporadic reports of domestic animals from COVID-19 households that tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and were presumed to be infected from their owners.
The first two cases of feline SARS-CoV-2 infection in the United States were confirmed in New York by the CDC and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The cats originated from separate households and were epidemiologically linked to suspected or confirmed human COVID-19 cases in their respective households [54].
Zhang et al. [67] reported that cats become infected with SARS-CoV-2 following natural exposure to infected people, with 15 of 102 (14.7%) cat sera collected following the outbreak in Wuhan testing positive for antibodies that recognized the receptor binding domain of SARS-CoV-2 by ELISA, eleven of which (10.8%) also tested positive for neutralizing antibodies. The results of this study imply that cat populations could become infected in any region affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Angels Of Siberia Shockingly RUDE

After numerous non-responsive shelter inquiries I finally decided to check out catteries and found SIBERIANANGELS. I made an inquiry and the woman, Lily, was SO SHOCKINGLY RUDE that I just needed to post this review to tell everybody.

Angels Of Siberia Cat breeder

Our cat from Angels of Siberia just died of FIP at 20 months old. He was a delightful family member, healthy and happy until a few days ago. The disease is untreatable, with a 100% mortality rate, and the underlying virus may have come from the cattery, as there was no exposure to other cats here in our home.

Veterinary medicine claims that, statistically, only 5% of cats will get FIP. Even though this is a low probability in the general feline population, it is frighteningly high for a breeder.

Angels Of Siberia kittens

I purchased a kitten from her awhile back. While the kitten is very sweet and Angela was very responsive and sent alot of pictures, he came with a TON of health problems. From external parasites to internal parasite as well. Angela was very aggressive towards me when I questioned her about it and claimed that she sent me home with a healthy kitten. The kitten had to be quarantined for months until we could get the parasites under control. Unfortunately somehow the kitten still managed to give my other pets the parasites. So my vet bills are through the roof with no help from her! If you are wanting a Siberian kitten go somewhere else. She over breeds her cats and unfortunately they are highly neglected when it comes to their health. The only thing she offered me was a refund if I gave her the kitten back! She's only in it for the money. Buyer beware!

Angels Of Siberia siberian kitten

I adopted a kitten from this breeder. The kitten was everything we could have dreamed of for the first few months. When he was six months old, he got sick really fast. He was diagnosed with FIP. The vet said that although you can't officially diagnose the disease without an autopsy, she was 1000% sure that he had FIP. This disease is a mutation, but can be avoided using simple precautions. This cattery was most likely over crowded, resulting in the disease becoming present in the litter boxes. Our kitten passed away less than a week later. In those last few days, he could no longer eat or walk. He ended up passing away earlier than expected, which meant that he died a few hours before his appointment to be put down. I hate leaving a bad review, but I don't want anyone to go through the pain that we experienced.

FIP is ABSOLUTELY contagious. In fact, the acronym stands for Feline INFECTIOUS Peritonitis. It is true that whilst 20 cats (for argument's sake) can be exposed to the coronavirus that causes FIP (which IS avoidable when animals are properly cared for) there may only be say 5 or 6 that will progress onto full blown, end stage FIP which is always fatal. There are many factors that go into what makes certain animals more susceptible than others, genetics can play a role, even sex can play a role as apparently males tend to be a little more vulnerable to it than females, but they both can get it. Most catteries that bring in outside animals run a VERY HIGH risk of contracting diseases and parasites. You really have to spend considerable time getting to know and investigating a cattery if you are going to fork over big money for a pure breed. You're paying for an exceptional pet, you deserve to bring home nothing less. The breeder is doing you NO favors.

I purchased three kittens from Angel of Siberia for $1300 each. She is breeder dogs and cats in her home. She lives in a suburban neighborhood with very small lots. One of my kittens died of dry FIP at 18 months. She blamed me for the way I was taking care of him when I called to tell her that he was sick. I told her, I was told by my vet that it was most...
