I am writing to complain about the cancellation policy. I moved out of Basingstoke in June 2023 and haven’t visited the gym ever since. Kindly check my ‘key fob’ logs for the verification. I have tried reaching out on calls and got a friend to visit the gym for ‘my cancellation’ as well and repeatedly was told to send email. I went to the 'contact us' option of the respective anytime club and an online form appeared in the 'email club' category. I filled for the cancellation request. Filled 'contact us' form for the same. Tried 'member cancel' option online but couldn't get through, kept saying 'invalid member ID'. I was told to try the app at first (which I was unable to login), visit the branch (was unable to do so but my husband did on my behalf) and got told to write an email. I tried giving a call again in the first week of August regarding all these issues and was sent a message with a cancellation form which was not going through as well, saying member ID not found. Eventually I had to cancel the direct debit for the same, but I keep getting the payment due messages. Today after 4 months of cancelling request I got message for late fee and charge or my credit score will be affected. And I don't want that so I paid and called the club contact. The manager after searching when I told I sent one now, said he got my email that I sent today but if I can send the proof of the past they can do something. Now how can I find the proof of all the forms I filled on the 'anytime' site and sent. Where can I find that data?
I have truly enjoyed being a member of your gym and enjoyed the classes , appreciate the facility and easy of 24x7 but the cancellation process could be more elaborate would be great, made easier with confirmation on spot. Also, why renew for next 12 months when you can see the member hasn't paid - close the previous year contract first. Is that on purpose to make as many months as possible for the late fee?
