Double Dipping
I had recieved a flyer from Applewood Kia in langley. The ad said that the 2011 Kia Rio model vehicle was available with a bi weekly payment of $78.00 no money down no payment for 90 days with 0% interest for 84 months. Also if you bought the car that weekend you would get a free mountain bike and one year free ICBC car insurance valued up to $1500.00. There was also a promotion of $500 credit if you were a recent college grad- I of course was. I called ahead and spoke to a salesman to verify the avaialability of the model vehicle I planned to purchase and make sure that I qualified for and could combine all of these promotions. He assured me that I qualified and told me he had lots in stock in the colour I wanted- Saphire blue. I had my family meet me there to check it all out and share this "fun" experience. When we got there there were no cars on the lot in my chosen colour, the salesman said oh well its a good deal just get the orange one who cares? I do. So his solution was to get the right car from a partner dealership up the road. Ok- So we signed a contract with all the goodies. I asked what colour my bike would be he told me red.(it was also out of stock and coming from the other dealership)I switched over my vehicle insurance and all was finalized I thought. We waited till six thirty pm and finally the salesman said they couldn't get the car by that day!I had no wheels at this point so they offered me a loaner for the day, it was suppused to be a 2010 rio model and it ended up being a 99 wet dog been smoked in ICBC rebuild! OMG- as if that wasn't bad enough I came back at the set time to pick up my car the next day and it was still not there. I waited a few more hours. Finally it came, no bike though they said sorry we are all out you don't get one! When the car did arrive it was dirty and the drivers front tire was almost flat- This is a new vehicle- The sales manager told me to take delivery of the car I would need to sign a new contract with todays date on it. He promised that the only thing that had changed was the date but he was covering the text of the document with his hands saying sign here, etc. Finally I drove off with my car-When I got home and read the contract I realized I had paid $10, 000.00 more for the car than I thought!I called them and told them to fix the mistake they refused. I told them to take back the car, they refused. I hired a lawyer, filed suit and they finally dropped some of the fees. About $5000.00 worth. They never gave me the 500.00 student rebate, bike, 0% interest and my payment is $60.00 more that they said biweekly! or 120.00 a month!Also they refused the ICBC rebate? I had a contract I had the news ad- It was not enough. The sales manager said that they did not have to do anything, you shouldn't have signed a contract if you didnt agree! and that what they agreed to was because they were being generous, not that they were required to! Things began to go wrong with the vehicle immediately and they dont want to warranty them. Please don't buy a vehicle from pathalogical liars like applewood Kia-

Just bough car from.apple.wood kia and clear coat started to peel so took it in.for warrenty they just called and sayed car has been re painted wtf i looked at car fax before i bought looked gd now i.half.to pay 900 to.fix it great.first exsperiance ooo and to top it off been 2 and a half months and.no spare key wtfff grrrr beware of apple.wood in langley really.shady place not happy
I had a bad experience with Applewood too. They will tell you anything you want to hear, and then go back on their word. After much invested time, and energy we agreed on negotiations for price. Right when we were signing the contract, they tried to add in that we were going to trade in our car, when we clearly said we wouldn't. On top of that they were only going to give us $1, 000 for it. Beware of Applewood, and if you go there don't expect what you orally agree on to mean anything. Also read EVERYTHING before you sign the contract.
I just read your complaint against Applewood Kia. I AGREE with you 100 percent.I went into applewood kia also. I spoke with the salesman, and decided on a Blue Uplander Van. I spoke with the salesman over the course of a week. He assured me he wouldnt sell hte vehicle. I went on my birthday to pick up the vehicle. They shuffled me in and out of the business office(common practice of a shady dealership). Then I signed the paperwork...although I had a bad feeling.When I went outside to take delivery of my vehicle, I couldnt see it? I went back inside. The salesman took me outside and showed me a vehicle that was Tan in color, no alloy wheels, no t.v. system inside, and 10, 000 more kms on it. I was in a rush to get to my birthday celebration, and the salesman was PUSHY. 5 days later I sent a letter of complaint to Applewood about my dis-satisfaction. THEY DID NOTHING! My son was in the car for the first time about 10 days after purchase. He was sitting in his baby seat and went to put his Diego toy in the storage compartment in front of his seat. He cut his fingers on the 3 inches deep tinted GLASS, Ya thats right GLASS! They claim it was never in an accident either! There was broken glass all through the seat latch holes, the van door took numerous attempts to close and latch proper. They also didnt tell me that the van was an ex rental. It was never legally disclosed on the paperwork, as required by LAW! When I bought the van I also didnt have any fuel, oh did I mention the fuel gauge hasnt worked EVER! Oh, and this is a 2008 model vehicle. I went tothe VSA Which taked complaints for consumers and investigates. They said Applewood di nothing wrong. Ohdid I Mention, Darren Graham the owner of Applewood Kia has alot of money...I smell a big pay off fromthem to the VSA Agent(s). All in all it was a ### place to buy. Kia Canada needs to know what kindof crappy business they are supporting and endorsing! Im stuck with a heap of Junk, it sucks.
