Aqua Finance - Sued by ftc and still up to no good

Despite the investigation and lawsuit from the ftc this company continues to illegally inflate loan amounts, charge illegal interest rates and offers no truth in lending disclosures. In Oct 24 they refinanced their holdings at an even better rate by using predatory practices against their customers to over collect on their holdings. The customers should all...

I had a loan through aqua finance. I was 6 months ahead on my payments and in the mean time I ended up paying the loan off in full and asked them about the extra payments that I was ahead on and was told that them payments was strictly interest payments. So what they did was when I called them for a payoff amount, they gave me a 10 day payoff as of the day...

Aquakleen promised a service for my home that they did not fulfilled. They offered my household a clean filtration system that would not harm but help my family with drinking water and soft irrigation system for my pipes. However, the system that was placed in the back of my house never worked. It was placed in the hot sun weather outside where it kept...

We got this loan 11/17. Our heater went out and the AC company Comfort Heat and air said we needed a new one. They sent out a sales rep. We ended purchasing a unit at about $13,500. The original paperwork has a 6.35% rate for the first year and 13.5% rate after. The paperwork doesn’t say anything about them taking $99 off the top of my monthly payment for...

Aqua Finance Customer Service

This company has the poorest customer service I ever experienced!

They almost never reply to my inquiries even after threaten them with legal actions if I won't hear back from them regarding sensitive account matters (I also had a double payment which eventually got resolved but took a long time without hearing from them).

My main issue right now is:

I removed a bank account on my profile in favor of a new one I set up for payments to be taken out from. They never recognized the new account and keep taking money out of the old bank account that is now even on my profile anymore. How the hell can that happen? To me this and the lowest of customer service is a straight indicator of very ver bad business practices!

How can I resolve an issue when I almost never receive an answer from this company?

Desired outcome: Spread the word to other people! And maybe an improvement of the service even though I doubt anything will ever change...

Aqua Finance Payment Portal and check Payments.

I set up my account S003761595 for the amount of $201.95 to be automatically deducted monthly from my bank account. The first payment was due March 1st, and this was done with no problems. The second payment for April was rejected saying that it was not the correct amount. Your system keeps declining the payment saying the $201.95 isn't the correct amount. Instead of fixing this problem, you have your unprofessional and rude customer service representatives calling that we are behind. I have mailed two checks because of fear this will continue to happen. One for April and one for May. We received another call saying we have not paid. one of my checks was sent by priority mail to one of the addresses that is on the statement. Why hasn't YOUR COMPANY FIXED THE PROBLEM AND WHERE ARE MY TWO CHECKS? Your company needs to repair your computer system and update your records to reflect that our account is current and is not in arrears.

Desired outcome: FIX THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR SYSTEM AND FIND MY CHECKS.

Aqua Finance Doubled bill in same month

Aqua Finance withdrew funds for a pool loan on 12/14/22 and withdrew again 12/28/22 without authorization. Because of this, it caused a NSF fee with my bank. My bank account was in the black until Aqua Finance caused this. I called Aqua Finance and was advised that although funds were taken electronically, it would take 5-10 days to receive a reimbursement. The rep had to talk to her manager repeatedly throughout the conversation. I asked them to refund the NSF fee and they would not. They caused this. They only offered to either credit the funds toward the next month or wait days for reimbursement. If at all possible, do not fund with Aqua Finance.

Desired outcome: $30 bank fee reimbursed and immediate refund credited back to my bank account.

Please be aware if this company. Contracted company several times to get this charge removed. I am totally disappointed

Aqua Finance Safe step walk in tubs

On September 7, 2022 We signed a contract to have a tub installed in our home. We applied for financing through their salesman who said upon credits approval they would arrange financing through Aqua Finance if we wanted to. We put almost 50% down and authorized our credit check. We never received a copy of the loan contract from either Safe Step or Aqua Finance when we were approved.

There were many issues in getting the tub installed. One problem is that we were told we needed to upgrade our water heater to 50gallons. They gave us a credit of $750 toward the new water heater. We purchased the new tank and paid a plumber to install it.

It was not sufficient to fill the tub with hot water and turned cold when the tub was maybe 1/3 full.

We mailed the paid off on the tub to Aqua Finance on November 3, 2022 they receive it on November 7, 2022 but did not post it until November 11, 2922. We received a statement from them showing a balance of interest due in the amount of $100.36. We still have not received a copy of the loan contract from Aqua Finance.

Desired outcome: We had not been able to use the product because the tub required 85-90 gallons of hot water to fill it up for use. We had to purchase and install instant hot water system $3458.

Aqua Finance Payment portal

I had windows installed in my house in 2017 and the company who installed them uses Aqua Finance for the loan, the issue is that when I make a payment through my bank, Aqua has no electronic payment option and my bank issues a checked that may take five to ten days to be credited to my account which in turn causes Aqua to charge me with a late payment fee which lengthens my payments and with the high interest rate it seems like I will never pay my loan down. Aqua needs to come into the 21st Century and upgrade their method of receiving payments so customers can make direct electronic payments to their accounts. The web-site is really no help whatsoever.

Desired outcome: Ability to make direct payments without having to input all my checking info.

Aqua Finance Windows for BJ's Wholesale Club FHIA

FHIA Agua Finance through BJ's Wholesale Club initiated payment schedule without a full installation. Windows were installed on July 29, 2022, and the company failed to complete the installation providing screens. These window screens failed to arrive, and I called the company FHIA and customer service said on August 8, 2022, an order for screens was just initiated. Why am I being charged by Agua Financial if the complete installation failed to be processed. That is a breach of contract.

Aqua Finance Loan for water filter and softener

Two men from a company called Apollotek came to my house to sell a water filter system claiming that it was unhealthy to drink tap water and that I should get their product. They insisted for hours, so not wanting to say no for more time signed a contract. But the problem is the loan contract was not with that company, it was with Aqua Finance (2017 or 2018 so need to look for a specific date). Later the water softener that was installed outside by Apollotek was so flimsy it burst open during a winter storm (February 2021). The loan's statement letter from aqua finance clearly says

"If you are dissatisfied with the goods or services that you purchased with your credit card and you have tried in good faith to correct the problem with the merchant, you may have the right not to pay the remaining amount due on the purchase. To use this right, all the following must be true: (a) you must have made the purchase in your home state or, if not within your home state, within 100 miles of your current mailing address, and the purchase price must have been more than $50 (these limitations do not apply if we own or operate the merchant, or if we mailed you the advertisement for the property or services); (b) you must have used your credit card for the purchase; and (c) you must not yet have fully paid for the purchase. If all of the criteria are met and you are still dissatisfied with the purchase, contact us in writing at the address listed on your statement. While we investigate, the same rules apply to the disputed amount as discussed above. After we finish our investigation, we will tell you our decision. At that point, if we think you owe an amount and you do not pay we may report you as delinquent."

But for the sake of not calling and waiting 30 minutes to call I just kept paying, then missed 3 payments recently (March 2022). Then I got the mail notification that they placed a lien on my house, so I decided to call and ask if the loan could be canceled or at least get lower interest (did not remember to say that the statement had the paragraph above included), but they said no even though I said the product was damaged. I had to call about 10 times just to be told that and the first nine times the person on the other side couldn't hear me or just hung up on me, so it is probably a waste of time to call again to say "why can't my loan balance be canceled if the product is not working anymore?". By reading the other complaints here I have no hope it will be worth it, but will call anyway. I also tried to email the account manager but google sent me an email back because they could not send my email to the [protected]@aquafinance.com. Which is the email on my statement too, so why do they have a non-working email listed. There is terrible customer service, the paragraph I say does say it is up to aqua finance to decide if they will forgive the balance, but they are difficult to even talk to.

Ideally, I want the loan canceled and the lien taken off because the product was not built well enough to be installed outside, yet it was installed there by the other company. They do not take responsibility so the only hope is that aqua finance does since they take clients from that company, without being present themselves. Another solution I could accept is to have lower interest, I have already paid the missed payments, but paying it fully and with the original interest for something that broke a year ago is unbelievable. I also don't have any way to be sure that when I start making bigger payments and get close to paying the whole amount off if they deny canceling the balance, that aqua finance won't change the balance or increase interest rates since the other communication has been terrible so far.

Desired outcome: Cancel/forgive loan or at least lower interest.

Aqua Finance Rainsoft water treatment

Approached at home depot about this product. Allowed them to test water at my home... By the way I regret this entire process! Aqua finance was the company handling this. My then boyfriend co-signed the contract with me. Made payments and some time later my boyfriend left and decided he no longer had to help make payments. I struggled to make them on my own. My ex boyfriend then declared bankruptcy and got out of the whole contract. By that time I was behind on payments... Now a 5000 dollar piece of crap has jumped to over 11, 000 dollars that they say I am owe! Aqua finance is involved in loan sharking which is illegal! Stay away from these idiots! If you don't believe me just google all of the lawsuits filed against them! And shame on home depot for allowing them to use their customers!

Aqua Finance Loan

Trying numerous times to receive a response via phone, email and website message and not achieving to get in contact with Aqua Finance. Customer service is like non existent there.
Account X404060633
Contacting regarding this water system installed at my house.
Unfortunately an agent from your company conned us into buying a water purification system at an inflated price and we are no slapped on extra fees such as having a higher interest plus daily charge.

We agree your company mislead us to believe our water was contaminated and we now have a loan with a high interest charge. The sales person informed us that the water in our home would cause skin cancer and cancer in our stomach, also to think in our son. Of course upon having all this we agreed to the water system because we were told that the system would be maintenance by your company which has not been the case. The total cost was $5990.00 and was to make payments of $60 and have to pay $90 a month which only less than 30 go to principal balance. This system is causing us more fees because we have had to pay out of pocket for maintenance. Also in reviewing the bills, consumer is paying very high interest, after paying off the balance, we could have paid much more for this system. We feel we were taken advantage and were sold this system under false pretenses. We want your company to cancel the contract and lower our balance to pay it off as cash before we are taken into collection we would like to settle this and get in agreement we have some cash to pay off as for now.

Please respond to this in a timely manner, as I have tried several times doing so over the phone but representatives are unprofessionally rude and don't help at all. If I don't receive a response I will take my concern to further legal action and will look for an Advocacy Center, that works to resolve disputes, and can help us get our money back or stop payments as we financed the water system and were not explained correctly how this worked. This will also be reported to BBB and FTC.

Look forward to a response and a solution to my concern. Thank you!

Desired outcome: settle account to get rid of debt, get a response from aqua finance or aqua kleen

Aqua Finance Loan customer service unresponsive

Every time I call customer service I spend a couple of minutes going through the call tree, then placed on hold for like 5 minutes and then hung up on. If I do get a person they direct me to send an email then hang up. There was no is there anything else I can help you with just a click. If the call drop they had my account information they could call me back but did not take that initiative. It is bad enough this company put a lien on my home without my knowledge of it. I did not discover it until I attempted to refinance my house. If you can not issue credit based on a customer;s credit worthiness then you do not need to be in the credit granting business. Putting a lien on a home doesn't guarantee payment if the house goes into foreclosure. The mortgage will get paid first and if there is anything left you may get paid if you are even made aware it went into foreclosure.

Desired outcome: I want a letter ASAP acknowledging Aqua Finance will be in a subordinate position to my first mortgage. If possible I would like taken off my home.

I recently changed financial institutions and contacted the company 30 days in advance with my new account information. When my payment was due, they still withdrew the payment from my old account. I contacted them again and provided them with the information again and paid the amount due from my new account. They attempted to charge me a 25.00 late fee. After several calls they finally issued me a letter verifying my new bank information, and that the payment would be taken out of my on the due date. But the account number was incorrect. Every time I call they assure me that my account has been updated, but the payment for the month of July 2022 have not been deducted from my account. The phone operators are very rude, and give me different information each time. In order to have a record of my conversations I started recording my conversations.

Aqua Finance Paid off loan loan #x401876095

On 2/21/2020 I sent a payment of $428.98 leaving a balance of $400.00. On 2/24/2020 (3 days later) I paid the remaining balance of $400.00. I received a statement showing I owe a balance of $11.22. How is this possible? My husband talked to someone that called telling us we were late. We have never been late and on 2/24/2020 I paid the loan off completely. The lady he spoke with said she would take care of it and send us a 0 balance statement. The call was around the end of February. I left a voice message on 3/30/2020 after receiving an email stating we still owe. Now we have both received phone calls telling us we owe. This is a matter of principle, it's not about $11.22! Please check into this matter and stop with the annoying phone calls from people that don't know what they are talking about.

You don't read your statements, do you? It states on every statement that you make payments on, to call for the CORRECT payoff balance. You have incurred a daily interest charge is my guess; if you would have called for the payoff total, you would have been given a total INCLUDING that charge. You're an adult. Figure it out for god's sake.

Aqua Finance aqua finance lending

I plead guilty to stupidity. Anyone that offers a loan with no payments and interest free for 6 months, falls into the Too Good To Be True Category.

The problem is this loan with aqua finance is married with a presumed sales position with Kangen water----Enagic.

For starters, Enagic is Not a direct sales company but a pyramid scheme. Their reps run ads on Craigslist, which is against Craigslist TOS. They prohibit these kinds of ads. But Enagic reps run them anyway. Naive people see these ads, assume it is a reputable direct sales company and get sucked in thinking they have hit the mother load with a grand opportunity. Aqua Finance knows full well that Enagic is a scam but finances them anyway

Aqua Finance purports to be a lending org. Others feel that Aqua Finance is really a service org. that puts prospective distributors for the Enagic product together with Enagic----Kangen water.

They charge enormous interest rates and their customer service is horrible. And if you are even one day late, these use high pressure collection tactics, calling you from 8am to 9pm, send letters, emails and texts ad infinitum.

Obviously, if you took out a loan with these guys, you are responsible to pay it back. The scam is how it is presented. Both parties make it sound so easy. The "medical devices" which are overpriced water filters sell like hot cakes Reps have sold 42 units and made $37, 000 in 3-4 months. Its so easy. Top celebrities endorse it. They tell prospective reps.

Aqua Finance tells you "don't worry" if you get into trouble, just call us and we will work with you." Yeah right. If your late 8 seconds" they come after you like loan sharks and practilly threaten your first born.

They will add late fees, raise your interest rates and waste no time turning you over to multiple collection agencies. And if that doesn't work, They will sue you and you will be ordered to appear in court and now court, legal and attorney fees will be added on.

What happened to I thought you were going to work with us? You ask. That went out the window and was only in play when we were getting you to register for the loan. Now we got you.

They may not say that, but that is what they are thinking. You will find the overpriced water purifiers do not sell like hotcakes. The guy who was supposedly earning $37, 000 in three months has moved on and doing something else. You realize you've been had, do the right thing and try to work out an agreement. And they will. But after they add extra costs, administrative fees and higher interest, you end up paying 30%-50% more than initially which was already inflated by at least 50%-75%. Aqua Finance will give you help and keep adding more and fees.

The best way to handle Aqua Finance is to NOT do business with them. If you really want the over priced unit, get a loan from a reputable bank or credit union. Or pay cash. And here lies the problem. Aqua Finance and Enagic prey on the naive and the broke. Prospective reps see this like a lottery. And that is a good analogy. Enagic is a pyramid while Aqua Finance is like modern day loan sharks.

Stay away from Enagic and Aqua Finance. You'll be far better off.

Aqua Finance kangen water

2 years ago, I entered into an agreement with Aqua Finance in association with a business arrangement with Enagic and Kangen Water. Due to a lot of personal reasons, as well as the inability to sell the over priced Enagic-Kangen "Medical Devices" I defaulted on my loan with Aqua Finance.

When I contacted Enagic, they indicated that I could not cancel my agreement. When I explained my situation to Aqua Finance, they indicated they would work with me. They didn't. They immediately reported my debt to all three credit bureaus thus ruining my credit.

Ok. Not too unusual for a finance company EXCEPT they said they would defer doing that and give me an opportunity to get caught up. They didn't.

My big issue with Aqua Finance is that they engage in predatory lending. The fees, late fees and interest they charge is excessive. Once upon a time this was called Loan Sharking. Aqua Finance calls it banking. It is excessive, unethical and immoral and should be illegal. They set it up so can never get out of debt with them. You will be paying more on a $4, 000 glorified water purifier than you do on your home.

With me, I was told that my monthly payment would be no more than $120. Then it was $190 subject to re-evaluation. It ended up going to $220. And after I defaulted on my loan it sky rocketed even higher. A $4, 000 loan turned into nearly $8, 000 in months. So essentially I would be paying for two of these water units instead of just one. And the payment were so high that I couldn't afford them.

Aqua Finance forced me to declare bankruptcy, something I am ashamed to admit. But I had no choice. Otherwise I would be paying these guys the rest of my life and the principal would never decrease.

Aqua Finance currently has over 55 complaints filed against them with the BBB. And 100s of complaints elsewhere on the internet. These are recorded complaints. How many others are out there who haven't spoken out? Expect that number to increase substantially.

Besides Enagic, Aqua Finance also does funding for other water and air purifier companies like Rainsoft and other companies. The complaints from customers who have used them are the same, totally unprofessional and disorganized, not truthful, predatory lending, excessive fees and more.

If you get an offer to get lending from Aqua Financing, RUN don't walk away. They are bad news.
