this company overcharged me for a debt and told me to take it up with my credit card company
this company overcharged me for a debt and told me to take it up with my credit card company. When I call back to speak to a supervisor they would hang up on me and even call me by my first name when I continued to call. I am not sure if this a legit company but be aware . They had the audacity to get an attitude when I was demanding my money be reimbursed on my card.
Worst company to deal with!
Worst company to deal with! They do not care about your agreements and will take money from your account before the agreed date and then proceed to hang up on you. I am now out $150 two weeks BEFORE I agreed and as a single mom, I cant afford that. *** is awful and how they handle security of your information is NOT safe! Do not deal with this company. Try to work with the debt directly!
Halsted calls several times a day and does not leave a message. When attempting to call back, the number is not working.
What in the *** is going on with these people? They have called me hundreds of times in the last 2 weeks. It's outrageous. I answered twice, and *** ONE IS EVEN ON THE ***! I am furious. If I owe money, fine - send me something in the mail. Ridiculous."
This company is using a questionable procedure when processing credit card. They say they are using a third party credit card company to allow for online payments, however when the third party company bills my credit card, its billed as a cash withdrawal and my credit card company bills me an additional 10.00 fee each month as well as a higher interest rate. Called to have the billing corrected and I was told there is no way around it and all credit card payments are processed as cash advance. Really? Never have been told that before. Seems fishy.
I just got a call from lady who claimed her name is ***. She had a very heavy accent and when I asked her for the company name she kept repeating this is personal business matter. She called me but claimed she could not give me any information unless I provided her my social security number. I let her know that wasn't going to happen. When I asked her if she was in the United States she would not give me a direct answer. I called the toll free contact number she provided and someone hung up on me. Not sure what's going on here but whoever you are, put me on your do not call list, and do not call my number again. If I could give a negative rating I would. Their customer service skills are horrible. Please get a better phone script and practice with it. "
This company called me and said my name and then they proceeded to say the last four of my social and asked me was that me???
This company called me and said my name and then they proceeded to say the last four of my social and asked me was that me? What kinda company spits out such private information without verifying anything. Even if they had verified something they should never say someones social they should have people say it. How can I report this company for privacy violations that is a horrible way to do business ridiculous!
I have received a few letters from National Credit Adjusters. I have contacted them several times to ask about a loan that was taken out with Credit Ninja. When I tried negotiating to pay the original amount, they sold the loan to Halsted Financial Services, LLC. I didn't know that because on my credit reports, NCA still shows up as the owner of the original loan. It seems that the loan is being passed around from collection agency to collection agency, with no resolution whatsoever. I also get calls from so many numbers that it's hard to keep up. In the meantime, this debt is wreaking havoc on my credit and I cannot find anyone to pay it to.
Don't try to pay nothing off thru this company. I tried to be a good consumer so get my life together. Over the past two years I've been attempting to get my life back on track and together financially. I ended up setting up bi-weekly payments with Halsted Financial. A couple of months ago my bank announced that it was closing. When I found out I promptly emailed Halsted and attempted to contact them through their website contact form and got nothing back. I checked my junk mail and marked them as priority in my email. Then when my bank finally did shut it's doors I missed a payment because the account was closed and I had no updates as to how to update my banking information. When my payment declined that day I got an email about it. In the email it said to reply to them to get help with my issue. They sent me a link to a billing portal where I could update my information. Strangely enough this was the only way to update my payments. I couldn't do it on the regular Halsted client portal. In addition to that oddity, the link expires. So I'd email them and then they'd wait about 16 hours to send me that link while I'm in the middle of working and by the time I'm out on break or out of work, the link would be expired. So the process had to start all over again. This went on for about 4 weeks. I sent about 11 or 12 emails. The two times I was actually able to access the link it kept saying that my bank account information was invalid and that my new card was also invalid. I triple checked and even had someone else type in the information for me in case I was the one in the wrong. Finally today after receiving another email about my payment being declined I reached out and contacted them through the phone number in the email since I had some time. The woman on the phone spoke so quickly it was hard to gather exactly what she was saying, so I tried to ask her if she could repeat herself but it was at the same pace. I told her my issue about the billing portal not accepting my new payment methods and she said she could take the payment and it would work. This felt off to me because why would it work on her and and not through the link they sent me? That feels really weird. After some back and forth about the fact that this feels weird she said she was going to transfer me over to her supervisor who could probably give me more answers. Well the call failed and either I was hung up on or the call was dropped. I cannot remember the last time a call I was on just dropped though so this feels weird too. I called back, same person, same script, same speed, same issue. Nothing was resolved today and I have finally had enough. This is too many emails to send to not get some sort of actual response. If you find out you have to deal with them, try to figure out if you can go through literally anyone else. Apparently they're collecting for LVNV who is weird because you can't actually reach out to them either. This is the worst company I've had to work with. Good luck. "

Received a letter from Halsted Financial about an account with Home Shopping Network, and then the current Creditor to Whom Debt is Owed, Recovery Exchange LLC, Talked with a person that spoke broken English by the name of Jason, I told him that I never had a Home Shopping Network account, and this is a mistake, could he please send me the paperwork from the original credit company, Appears to be just another Fraud Collection Company, that cannot provide any information, other than a account number, and then Jason was telling me that he will just mark the account, and then hung up the phone, These collection account companies are the worst and cannot provide any information, as all they keep asking for is my personnel information, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING OVER THE PHONE. Based out of Illinois but cannot understand them; they will offer you a discount on the debt but do not disclose their processing fee of 15.00 or more.
Halsted Financial sent 6 emails with detailed information to someone I know for me with the creditor's name, amount, partial credit card info. on the face of the email. In addition, it provided an option to put in my social security number to gain access to additional information. They obtained the email without my consent and the emailed used was not ever listed on my account. I never received a call or letter via us mail or e-mail as previously listed. This company should be fined for sending confidential information to unknown parties they assume you have an association.

Hello Everyone
Hello Everyone. I recently received a letter in the email from this particular collection agency regarding resolving this debt for half of what was owed. I did not feel like fighting, so I went online as the letter stated. However, when I tried to make a payment online, the system could not verify me (even though I put in the same information that is in the letter). The website redirected me to call them. I did and had to pay a $15 fee since I was paying over the phone. The agent refused to fix the error online so I could pay that way. The agent also said that an email would be sent regarding the pay off. That has not happened. If I did not mention earlier, there is nothing regarding a service fee in the letter sent to me nor is it online. If you deal with this company, you may want to send a money order in the mail (assuming that is an acceptable form of payment).
This company keeps calling and harassing me daily
This company keeps calling and harassing me daily. They keep asking me for personal info over the phone and I tell them I don't give my personal info over the phone plus they wont tell me who they are until I ask them about 10 times. They dont answer the phone like a business and they dont even act or talk like a business. They call from numerous different numbers and I have blocked them everytime they call but they just keep calling with a different number. Even worse is the person on the other line hardly speaks english and you cant understand half the stuff they are saying. They are also very rude and get upset when you start asking them questions about who they are and why they are calling you. They also will over talk you and interrupt you when I do try to talk. It's sad that businesses like this can call amd harras a 100% disabled Iraq war vet who is also a single father trying to raise 2.children on his own. This is the last thing I need is to be dealing with a business I've never heard of and wont tell me anything other then trying to fish personal info out of me. The real weird thing that gets me is that when I call back the number they answer the phone with a hello instead of their business intro and then proceed to call you by your first before you even say anything to them. They keep harrassing me and I will have my lawyer deal them. He's expensive but they will end up paying his bill.
I received a letter for a medical bill needing to be resolved
I received a letter for a medical bill needing to be resolved. I wanted to make my payments online so I used the web site given off of their letter. No where on the site are you able to make an account. You only provide your name, zip code and date of birth. It wasn't able to find me. I called and spoke to a gentleman that wanted to set up monthly payments. I informed him that I didn't want to be set up on monthly payments. What I pay this month I might not be able to pay next month. He wasn't understanding that I wanted to pay online and not have to call them each month. He them had his supervisor come to the phone. Again, I had the conversation that I am not able to pay monthly the same amounts. Some months it could be less and some months it may be more, but I wanted to do it online. He sent me a link to pay (still never able to do it myself). Before he ran my card for a $50.00 payment he said that there will be a $14.95 charge to process the card! No thank you! Then he said he can do better than that and lower it today, just for me to $9.95. Then he kept on and lowered it to $4.95 processing fee. I find it a little ridiculous that you are going to charge me each time you run the card $14.95, in not even 2 minutes have dropped it down $10.00 just to get my payment. I was not comfortable with this company. They continue to ding my credit however numerous times for this unpaid amount that I owe. I want to be able to make my own payments and watch the payments process so that I can print out payment receipts. I also find it ridiculous to charge that much to process a payment.

I called back In and finally got a person and stated they are not willing to settle. I get threatening letters in the mail and constant emails. But they arent will to settle the account. Im wondering if this is actually a scam.
I was told when I called that if I provided a payment they would give information on whether or not they owned the loan I owe on. They also made me promise to pay more than I was comfortable paying (so much for paying what I want when I want). Not only did they take my last $5.00, they did not provide me with any information. I need the following information and refuse to sign anything until you provide this: As discussed in my phone call, I need the following things from you:1. I am receiving calls every day from Halsted Financial Services. The number is different every day, but the Caller ID is the same. This started out of the blue on 10/31/2022. I have no previous dealings with this company. They do not leave a message. I tried answering the calls, but they hang up.This is harassment for no reason. 03/04/2022 - payment $164.41
03/04/2022 - payment $164.41. This company charged my account as a check that was written out to them. I was notified through a text message (very unprofessional) about a debt that was owed. They stated they emailed me and sent letters in the mail which has not been done, I havent received anything. I reached out and the company is very sketchy, the first person answered with hello how can I help you? Not identifying themselves or the company in which I just called. I was them placed on a silent hold and another person got on the phone that repeated themselves multiple times as if they didnt know what to say. So unprofessional and not legitimate company. I reached out to have the charge refunded immediately and any future charges to be canceled. Everything they stated they were going to be helping with in regards to my credit reporting was a lie.

I keep getting text messages from this company about a debt collection for a credit one account. However, my account is up to date with credit one. I am not in collections. This company is a scam. The text has a link to click and a *** number. I feel this is a phishing scam. I have never received a call from this company only texts. Beware!
I was getting multiple calls daily leaving messages about a debt I do not owe. When I blocked the phone numbers, I began getting texts. I would like the contacts to cease and correction to my credit report if any reports were made.

I dont use this service. I called the number they wanted my ss#. I dont think we have a cash *** in my area. I advised them to NEVER text me again. I was asked for the reference number and was still not able to obtain the debt information- date of service, location, etc. I believe its a scam.
This company has violated MULTIPLE FEDERAL LAWS willingly and knowingly! Contacting me by email and text message multiple times with NO PERMISSION, exposing my personal information to third ***. I filed a CFPB complaint and the company totally disregarded the resolution I said I wanted due to their violations that have caused me an extreme amount of stress. I then emailed the *** General Counsel" at this company (the email was provided to me in their response to my CFPB complaint), the SAME day they responded, and I have not heard anything back yet. This company is disregarding their violations and the stress it has caused me and I will be seeking to file a complaint with the attorney general if this continues.
I received texts over the past several weeks telling me I owe a debt to K-Mart (I don't shop there and have never had a debt there). When I called the telephone number, the person answering has an *** (possibly ***) accent. I called back 7 times and everyone had the same accent. When I asked them why they're trying to rip people off, they hang up on me. BEWARE! THIS IS NOT LEGIT!
In April/May I paid off a debt that was in collection to Halsted Financial
In April/May I paid off a debt that was in collection to Halsted Financial. I was told that this debt once paid would be removed from my Credit Report. A few months later I checked my credit report and it was still there. My credit report stated that the collection was with National Credit Adjusters. I called and they advised that they would not remove the debt and that they would reach out to Halsted and they would call me. I had not received any notification and called back. *** basically stated that they were told by Halsted that they did not tell me that the debt would be removed. The wont provide me with any information or recording of my call. I feel like I have been lied to. Basically they told me if I paid the debt it would be removed from my credit file. All they wanted was to be paid so they can get credit for getting money. This is shameful. I would be be filing this complaint if they had not told me that it would be removed.

I have received two letters from this company addressed to my ex girlfriend from over 4 years ago. I know it was them because a quick search of the *** box number on the return address showed the company. After the first letter, I called and told them she doesn't, and hasn't ever lived here and they said they would remove me from their mailing list. Upon receipt of the second letter, my wife called them and the first person she spoke to told her to open the letter to get the reference number and throw it away after (she refused because we both know that is a crime). I've tried speaking to their team because I want to know:A) How my address was obtained and attached to this B) What can be done to prevent my ex from obtaining my address C) Why I am still being contacted after the first letter and call This feels like a massive breach of ethics. I'm assuming since I recently purchased my home, and my ex's name come up in a credit report as being close to her that someone just slapped my address on it in hopes to contact her to get her to contact them. My wife is legitimately scared my ex will find out where we live.

I have contacted Halsted Financial services three times regarding sending me a statement regarding the settlement arrangement set up for January
I have contacted Halsted Financial services three times regarding sending me a statement regarding the settlement arrangement set up for January 19. We received a letter stating they would accept a settlement on behalf of LLBean for $5,250. We have paid $2,050 so far. I called and was informed the balance was $11k and that my payments have gone towards that balance which is not what my letter states from them. I attempted to speak to a manager and was told Hershey would return my call; after no return call, I called and talked to *** and was also given different information. I spoke to *** and was told that I could send him the letter, but he would not call me back; I would have to call him. He also refused to send me an email or give me the name of someone in charge at a senior level. If they do this to us, they are also doing this to other consumers. This debt is old; my husband is sick and disabled. We are struggling to get this paid off; it is terrible that they are trying to cheat us. Other debts we have had have been remediated; I don't want anything special to be treated fairly.

Halsted Financial began calling stating I owed a debt
Halsted Financial began calling stating I owed a debt. At first I set up a payment plan online and set a payment for 5/20/22. A few days later I received and e-mails stating this payment was declined by Halsted as the money was in the bank. I emailed the company and was advised the account was rest and to set up the payment plan again, which I did for a payment set for early June. This payment was also declined by the company. I then started getting phone calls and I told them I do not speak to debt collectors on the phone and hung up. They immediately called back and when I said I just told you I do not speak to debt collectors on the phone I need everything in writing the lady told me that she knew I said that but the company would not take any payments because they needed me to provide them with personal information so that they could verify the debt. I again refused and advised if the debt was mine they would have the appropriate information and I would not need to provide things like my name and social security number to an unknown person on the phone. I have continually received calls and emails about the payments being declined and that if I wanted to resolve the matter I need to call and speak to them. I have already sent an email explaining this to them.

Repeatedly contacted by a persistent financial services firm despite requests to stop
Before today, I had conversed twice with the same representative from a certain Financial Services. Each initial call ended with me politely asking to be removed from their call list, highlighting my introverted nature and my preference for not being contacted again. Despite this, the company has been calling me several times weekly, often from disguised numbers, ignoring my clear demands to stop all communication. In the past, I remained courteous to their agents. However, today, an interruption during work led me to respond harshly. I am in the process of filing a complaint with Complaintsboard.com and considering reaching out to regulatory bodies. I hope this formal complaint will prompt the financial firm to finally respect my request for no further contact through any means, effective immediately. I expect no more calls from the firm's representatives. Thank you for your support in this matter.

The first time I was contacted by these scammers was through a text message which i deleted and forgot all about it
The first time I was contacted by these scammers was through a text message which i deleted and forgot all about it. On 09/05/2022, I received a letter from Halsted Financial Services, stating I owed over $500 to a ViaSat Telecom Services company. I called the number provided. The woman that answered the phone asked for my name, I told her she should know as she had the account number. After telling her I did not sign up for any services with that company or whatsoever she transferred me to her "Supervisor", according to this other woman I got the services on *** 2021. I asked her if I signed up for this tell me what SS# I used? She replied we don't have that information. You signed up with your email address and your home address, I asked what email I used? She provided: eldermw... (which actually rang the bell of who got me involved in this scam in the first place, my ex-husband).Anyway, I asked her to provide the bank information from where the "supposed payments" were being made from, she could not provide that information. I requested a dispute case number, she couldn't do that either. So I told her: "so this is just a scam". She said: 'You can file a fraud case elsewhere". I wish I could. Now these people have passed my information to another scam company *** Services who now are sending the letters. This is just ridiculous.

Mid May I decided to try and apply for a new store credit card as part of rebuilding my credit, I was denied a rather "easy approval" credit
Mid May I decided to try and apply for a new store credit card as part of rebuilding my credit, I was denied a rather "easy approval" credit card based on a "recent deliquency" on my credit report, which I was shocked by as I havent had anything late in roughly 5 years. To confirm everything was okay I wanted to log into my account to make sure everything was fine and receieved an error, and to either email or call. I sent an email, however recieved no reply. Monday after a long day at work I decided to try again and same error. While I still had some energy I figured let me call and see if I can speak to someone just to make sure everything is fine. The first lady told me it is not in their file and there is nothing she can do, however luckily as I kept asking, regarding that Ive already made a deal and made payments she was able to get a gentleman that was able to look into the account. The gentleman was also polite but he informed me that the debt (paraphrasing) "had been taken back by the previous debt holder/collector". He said they would attempt to get in back but could not give a straight answer regarding the $400 I had already paid and our agreement. So now nearly three months later after coming to a negotiation with this company and making payments as agreed, they seemingly do not have the debt and are unable to give me a straight answer regarding my payments or our deal. Not to mention they may have damaged my credit even worse with this back and forth.

Received an email today from a financial services company claiming I owe a payday loan from 2018
Received an email today from a financial services company claiming that I owe a payday loan from Check into Cash from 2018. However, I am completely sure I do not owe any payday loans. They keep sending me emails, and the latest one states: 'The weekend may be two days away, but custom-tailored options are available for you right now. Check them out anytime on our convenient payment portal. Current offer: Save up to $59.42 in up to 2 payments. View your options or contact us for assistance. Note that due to the age of the debt, we will not sue you for it, nor report it to any credit agencies as required by law. This communication is from a debt collector. Our Reference Number: [withheld]. Original Creditor: Loan by Phone. Current Creditor: Plaza Services, LLC. Total Balance Due: $198.06.' I've already settled all my payday loans and suspect this might be a scam. Can you help me resolve this? I have the emails and can provide copies if necessary, but my credit reports show no outstanding payday loans.

This financial company is terrible. They have no customer support, *** tried to reach out to them on a number of occasions and I hear nothing back.
This company called me and said my name and then they proceeded to say the last four of my social and asked me was that me? What kinda company spits out such private information without verifying anything. Even if they had verified something they should never say someones social they should have people say it. How can I report this company for privacy violations that is a horrible way to do business ridiculous!
I do not have any business with this company and they called my company that i work for to ask for me. I called back to talk to a manager and they hung up. Is there anything below 1 star?
Worst company to deal with! They do not care about your agreements and will take money from your account before the agreed date and then proceed to hang up on you. I am now out $150 two weeks BEFORE I agreed and as a single mom, I cant afford that. *** is awful and how they handle security of your information is NOT safe! Do not deal with this company. Try to work with the debt directly!
