Customer Service verifying insurance
I have been trying to get an appointment with Aspen Dental for 6 weeks; I make an appointment and they cancel it. I have Aetna HMO but my dental plan is a PPO (which they accept). I have even sent copies of the front and back of my card and they are tell me when they call that Aetna is not a PPO plan. So I call Aetna, they verify it is a PPO plan and offer to contact Aspen dental while I am on hold. Two Aetna Representatives have told me that they gave them the information and Aspen says, no. I have had to have a front tooth replaced 2 years ago, and the dentist that did the procedure is no longer in the area. It is infected, loose, and quite painful, and I would like to be seen before the infection goes into my blood stream! This can be fatal! No one is helping me! This is the only dentist near me that accepts my insurance!
Desired outcome: I would like an appointment with a dentist or oral surgeon.

Dentures
April/May 2022 I went in for dentures per my 5 year new denture plan with Aetna. I decided to give Aspen Dental a try. Bad, bad experience. I paid almost for a set of dentures (no extractions needed). These dentures are literally fall apart in my mouth. I asked that they be secure enough for me to not have to use a boatload of Poligrip everyday, but I am...

The oral surgeon extracted teeth and sent me home bleeding. I developed swelling and bruising all over my face including a black eye. He told be I was suffering...

I moved to Florida at Thanksgiving of 2022. My ordeal started on Dec 5, 2022. I had a crown snap off at the gum on Sat. Dec 3, 2022. I didn't have any idea where to go and since the crown was in the front of my mouth it needed to be taken care of. I was starting a new job on Dec 12, 2022. I found Aspen Dental in Winter Haven. On April 19, 2023 my husband, Jeffry Perkins date of birth 4/13/1970, had a toothache went to the Aspen dental in Ocean Township New Jersey. He was on a travel nurse assignment at the time and had insurance through Allied. On April 19 he agreed to a prepaid package to get dentures and he paid $2000 out of his own pocket towards the total of $2725 that would be his responsibility. All follow up appointments were canceled due to your system being hacked. He never had any other services done other than the first day initial assessment, and he had a wax mold made not even a scaling. Due to the computers being down, being hacked and issues that were going on with Aspen dental, he was unable to have the services performed, never even got the tooth removed, before he left New Jersey on May 11. When we arrived back in Texarkana Texas, he went to the local aspen dental thinking a prepaid package would just transfer however, since his insurance was no longer good the prepaid package was invalid and it would be over $7000. This was unaffordable and he requested a refund. He was given $900 back. The insurance was only billed for $308. Where is the remainder of his $2000 paid out of our personal money? I know you have had a lot of problems within the company but I would appreciate you taking care of this as soon as possible to avoid any further action on our part. He was very cooperative and in spite of the fact that he still has the toothache to this day he was never rude or unkind to the staff. Nor were they to him. The employees were very apologetic. however; at least another $700 or $800 should be forthcoming as a refund to him. There is no way the initial visit and 1 wax mold fitting cost $1100 and that's how much we are currently out-of-pocket. Your timely attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated! I have attached his initial agreement from April 19 and the statement from the insurance company for what was billed. There is no reason we should be out of pocket $1100 when the insurance paid and he was never given any of the other services that were part of the package.
Desired outcome: We would like a real refund. This was not honest or fair billing at all.
Dentures/malpractice
On July 25, 2023 I had all of my teeth extracted by Aspen Dental in Portage Michigan. This was done at 2PM. I did not have any Preoperative instructions. I had eaten and I had to have anesthesia due to bone shaving! My wife tried to have everything rescheduled but they refused. They immediately charged my Credit Card nearly $4500.00. I have excellent insurance through Delta that they have never billed! They close at 4PM so they shoved me out the door bleeding profusely still! I could not put the dentures they made me in due to the bleeding! I kept guaze in my mouth tight all night, but the bleeding did not stop. At 5AM, I got up went to the bathroom and had bloody loose stools, vomited blood, and passed out over my toilet. My wife brought me to by screaming my name. I was clammy, freezing, shaking and still vomiting a lot of blood. My back and chest hurt now from where I fell. My wife called 911. I was taken via Ambulance to our local ER. I was in shock and had 2 broken ribs now and a pneumothorax. I now have hemopneumothorax and am still under care. I was transferred from there via ambulance to our larger area Trauma Care Unit where I was admitted. My hemoglobin and hematocrit were seriously low! The dentist never called to check on me knowing they released me bleeding profusely. They also never advised my wife prescriptions had been called in to our pharmacy which is 25 miles from our home! I had been sedated, I didn't know! They did not obtain a medical history from me prior to extracting my teeth! I take 81mgs of aspirin daily and have for years per my doctor. I am on 2 other medications. They still don't know what! They only wanted money. The teeth do not fit! I cannot wear them. I can't eat! Theyl will not take them back even with the return warranty! I am disgusted! I want a lawyer! I have filed grievances with my credit card company and Delta Dental!
Desired outcome: Refund of money and Apology
Teeth extraction
I went in for a gum swelling issue. I was told I had two loose teeth they would pull and replace. I told them not to do anything that was not covered my insurance. They extracted two teeth in the front. Then when I went into get my permanent partial, I was told my insurnace would not pay. Now I am missing two front teeth. I have had to cancel dinners and other meetings because I am too embarrassed to be seen by anyone. I have contacted an attorney and this matter will be handled legally if not handled by the dental company. I am out of the medication I need for my gums and they will not give me a refill on that either. I am in worst shape since I went there than I was before, and I regret ever going there. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Desired outcome: My teeth replaced.

Appointment cancelled
My appointment for 11:00 AM today (Aug 7,2023) was cancelled because I didn't reply to text messages sent to me. This is the 3rd or 4th time it has happened. I have informed the office staff that my home phone is a landline and doesn't receive text...

I visited an Aspen Dental over 3 weeks ago. I had scheduled an extraction and put down a $200 deposit for the procedure.
