don't buy marked down items
Purchased a recordable picture frame, marked down 70%. Didn't work was told they don't take back items marked down 70%.
goods paid for-not received
I ordered Christmas gifts for my nieces and nephews online from Bealls Florida retail store. I ordered the gift wrapping at $3 a gift extra since I have been sick for 3 weeks and was delighted I could pay extra and have them gift wrapped.
The box of gifts arrived Monday, half opened, with everything just thrown in the box with no packing materials and NO GIFT WRAPPING! I'm so glad I had them sent to my home instead of the nieces and nephews. I sent an email to Bealls Florida immediately and to date have heard nothing. Would not have cared had I not had to pay per gift to have them wrapped. But to pay for something and not receive the service you paid for is frustrating. I will not use them again.

return policy
The return policy sans receipt is horrible. They give only store credit which is fine, but they apply every sale/discount/etc. That they will ever apply to an item. Deterring shoplifters is swell - so... What do people who receive gifts and want an exchange for something in the same price range? Nothing. I got an outfit as gift for my son. It was a pretty...

Beall's outlet is the worst company to work for they can not get a man to work there to unload trucks because of the low wage that they pay. The have women over 50 unloaded trucks for the meesly wage of 7.69 an that is after they have been there for over 4 years they make that wage. The company is so corrupt that if you complain they make it worse on you, and tell you straight up that "if you don't like it go somewhere else". Management in some stores is so bad and rude to customers that cashiers have to appoligize to the customers and yet if the customer asks for the corporate phone number and they call it nothing is done or said to that manager.
That is the truth. I am over 50..there were no men..I was supposed to cashier but seemed to be better fit so I was forced to unload a huge delivery in November 2018 at store 658. Then when help didn't show up, I was forced to stay til closing or else be terminated. I finally left in December 2018. After the schedule said one thing and I was told to take a break or just do without it and pay. (Store 658) (employee 1010558)
I WAS SHOPPING THERE AND OVER HEARD THE MGR CALL THE PLUS SIZED DEPT "FAT TOWN", IF I COULD HEAR THAT SO MANY OTHERS COULD AS SHE WAS NOT QUIET ABOUT IT...RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL

making women do men's work!
I do not work at Bealls, but I know some people that do.I have heard many, many complaints about the over expectations of the female workers to unload freight from incoming trucks.I'm talking pallets and pallets full of freight, being unloaded by petite woman, without the convenience of pallet jacks, fork lifts, etc., etc.
These woman(GOD BLESS THEIR SOULS)are coming home from work, with sore muscles, pulled muscles, aching backs, etc., etc., etc.Sometimes these women have to take a day or two off, just to recooperate...IS THIS FAIR?
Unloading freight should be a mans job PERIOD!
If you have any concern whatsoever for your female employees, you would NOT have them unloading freight, let the guys do it!Then let the female employees do the stocking of the said freight. This only makes sense from a profit/loss margin, but also from an employer that actually cares about their employees. The bottom line is to make money, but if your making your employees do things that get them hurt(physically/mentally)than your going to lose money...Happy employees make you more money, PERIOD!

"If you have no receipt and go and return an item they are going to give it to you for what the price is now."
Yeah- that would have been great if they had done that. The item I tried to return wasn't on sale at all. The hideous things were still $22. They give you the price of what it will be at the lowest marked-down price they could possibly have *in the future*. As in every clearance mark-down they ever plan to do to an item.
Bealls is the worst store to ever work for the dm and regional havent a clue. They want the idots who know no better to work for them if you say how you feel god forbid you get terminated. loss prevention is a joke he shows up oncea month if your lucky to watch employees
No one is questioning that times have changed or that roles have changed. The original comment was voicing concern over the well being of employees that are being required to perform tasks better suited to more physically able persons, who would in many cases be men. Personally, I do not have a problem unloading the truck at my local store. What I do have a problem with is being required to do so without any additional help. Their company policy states no one may open the stock door alone, yet if there is no one else scheduled- how do we receive delivery? We can only turn the truck away if it arrives before 7AM or after 6PM. Therefore, I am being required to violate a company policy by having the stock door open and taking delivery. The truck driver is not a Beall's employee, and cannot be considered a "second" person. There are days when I am required to work a 10 hour day, without having another keyholder on premise to allow me to take a meal period. I have to stay on the clock while I scoff down a bite. Fine- I get paid for it - but I am the only person this happens to. I have been told by management that "anyone that calls the DM, or does anything to cause a problem for said management will be sorry". Trying to get things worked out is not gonna happen.
This company consistently expects 1 person to do the job of 3 for the pay of 1. We are consistently understaffed, and are lit on like a fly on sugar if we do not complete our to-do lists! A big-box store cannot operate efficiently with 1 cashier, 1 part timer, and 1 full timer. Not with the level of business we do. Not with the requirements of the corporate office that include cleaning fitting rooms every 30 minutes, and offering customer service to everyone. It takes 45 minutes to clean fitting rooms and return the merchandise to the racks! By the time you get back to check them again, they are trashed again. Shoplifters have a field day because they know there is not enough staff to watch the whole store. So what does the company do? They install more cameras and audio to monitor the EMPLOYEES! The head of loss prevention was in the store holding up the front counter while shoplifters left their empty hangers in the boys dpt. and the handbag paper filling in the dressing rooms!
I am happy to have a job, and I enjoy working with the public. What I do not understand is - I was a manager for years, as was my husband. Neither of us would have EVER subjected any of our employees to be treated in this way. Times are tough, jobs are very scarce where I live. So I go to work every day. Before anyone gets their negative juices flowing, I am never late, I do not call out, and I am NOT a slacker... I have lost 50 pounds since I went to work here. I am down to 135... BECAUSE I WORK like a dog! I am thankful for that. Others violate policies left and right with no consequence... I sent my husband to purchase bathroom tissue because the store would not order any and was almost fired for it! "The manager had not given their consent for the purchase". WTH! We had been out of toilet paper for 2 days! Am I the only idiot that thought doing the right thing for our customers and employees would be ok? And besides.. you can never reach the manager after they leave the store. How was I to get "approval"? You can bet I am looking for another job. I have tons of mgmt. exp, and college. But I am in my 50's... it is NOT easy to find work.
On a final note, do not criticize this person for feeling the way they do. While the literal comparison to slavery may be wrong, the perception is the same. Abuse, poor wages, overwork and fear of retaliation..what do you call it?
As opposed to the ACTUAL slavery taking place in the rural farming areas of FL? Real actual slavery?
Having a [censored] employer does not amount to slavery, unless they do not pay you, and threaten you with physical harm if you don't do work. That's slavery, and yes it exists in the year 2010. Florida is one state where it is found.
While I don't agree with the slavery comparison, I will agree, however, that retail has been on a steady decline during the last 5 years, and is now becoming abhorrent dehumanizing employment in many locations. Employers are exploiting their employees' hard financial situations.
However it is not, and should not be compared to slavery.
Everybody's living standards have gone down. It's a terrible situation that nation is in right now.
AS AN EMPLOYEE OF BEALL'S OUTLET WOMEN HAVE TO DO THE WORK BECAUSE THE PAY IS SO LOW NO SELF RESPECTING MAN WOULD WANT TO DO IT. THEY CAN'T HIRE A MAN FOR SUCH LOW WAGES. THEY ABUSE ALL THEIIR WOMEN WORKERS FOR LOW SLAVE WAGES, AND IN THIS ECONOMY THEY TELL YOU "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE" . THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY YOU COULD EVER WORK FOR! THEY ARE SO CORRUPT. DO NOT EVER MAKE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THE HQ HANDBOOK STATES THAT THEY WILL NOT RETALIATE AGAINST YOU IT IS TOTAL BULLS-IT. THEY DO ALLOW SOME OF THE FAVORITE EMPLOYEES TO HIDE DOTTED ITEMS. ALSO BREAK ANY OTHER RULE STATE IN THE HANDBOOK. DON'T SHOP AT BEALL'S OUTLET STORES. THEY PAY TE LOWEST WAGES AND MAKE THE EMPLOYEES DO THE MOST MEANILESS AND DEGRADING DUTIES. SLAVERY LIVES AT BEALL'S OUTLET!
I know some women who work harder physically than men.
This complaint makes no sense. Are you from some bygone age where there were "man" tasks and "woman" tasks? Last I checked, women can do just about anything men can do. Both may function a little differently, but this is certainly not some forced "political" equality.
So, I recommend paying a bit more attention - or, getting to know more women. It's sad and alarming to even see vaguely mysoginist comments like this.
Last I heard women DEMANDED to be treated just like men... maybe you all should have thought what that meant.
And then when the men get home their women better have a hot meal and a drink waiting for the men. And another thing, women should only speak when spoken to...
Are you from the 60's? Get real!
terri testin / store associte
I have been a loyal and frequent shopper at Bealls outlet in Saint Marys Georgia for many years I love your store . Your store associates are very nice and helpful. On June 10, 2009 I was shocked to see how rude your store associate Terri Testin was to my children . My two children who picked out two toy which I planed on purchasing for my children. I was shopping in the same isle with my children when Ms. Testin walk up to my 3 year old and 7 year and very rudly snatched the toy guns out of their hands and proceded to put them back on the shelf and walked away .I then followed MS. Testin and explained to her how rude and distastefull she acted tord my children and she had to nerve to tell me I should watch my children, I then reminded her my children and I were in the same isle in the store she walked right pass me without saying a word and snatch the toy gun out of their hands MS.Testin then states well toys are not to be played with I then asked her well what are kids supposed to do with toys look at them ? Being so out done with the way your employee behave I asked her name and left my merchandise In the . I have worked in retail for along time and Iwould never have been so rude to a customer as she was to me. It may benefit your company to sent MS. Terri Testin to school to learn some customer service training.

I guess I'm not the only one that is complaining about bad treatment to our "CHILDREN" in the Bell's Outlet stores. I just had a very sour tasting situation in my local store in Key Largo, FL. Something needs to be done, this is discrimination and disrespect toward "Children and Parents of the Children". I will post my story so you can see what happened to me.

Yep, first day there today and was truck day and got to experience this all first hand!
Can someone explain how discounts are applied with the card?
Today I bought an item already marked down but at register she applied the discount to the original price leaving the item at the discounted price. No be night to customer!
Thank you
What's the point of printing contact phone number on back of credit card in location where card number is imprinted so that it cannot be read?
Less stupid designers would locate at top on back of card!
Same idiot wants me to fill this out to 350 ch. OK

Tampa FL, Bealls outlet Manager on Florida Ave next to Wal-Mart very rude. I will not shop at any bealls or affiliate of bealls and will be telling friends and family not to go there also.
Bealls outlet in lady lake, employees are slow returns take forever. They have to call supervisors for everything, when they won't come up front for half an hour. If you don't remember your card and the system isn't looking up the number or email you lose your discount.
I bought a pair of sandals Saturday that didn't fit. I took them back Tuesday, and had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM getting store credit for the full amount ! I asked the pleasant young man who said that the only way you get less is if that item went on sale..basically you can't try to take something back that you bought 2 months ago and expect full price. Had they been put on sale for $5 less, that is what I would have got for credit. As far as giving your dl#, it bothers me to give it also, but it is what it is...
I went to the Beall's Outlet in Crawfordville, Florida on 6/23/14. After looking for a carry on bag for an upcoming airline flight for over 30 minutes without any offer of help from employees, I finally found one. I was in line to purchase it at 8:55, and was VERY rudely told by a young dark-haired salesperson, "We are CLOSED!" She then opened the locked door and almost shoved me outside. I have purchased hundred of dollars of merchandise from this store.
Never again. :(
To Whom It May Concern: Here are my concerns about Store #626, 4300 W Tennessee, Tallahassee, FL
1. I am a concerned customer that shops at your store on weekly/monthly bases
2. I was wondering if the store employs are aloud to take part in the “Moving of the Dots”
3. It concerns me that soon as the doors open that the store employs know and locate the discounted items within seconds
4. If the store employs are aloud to shop on the “Moving of the Dots”, then ok, but it is not fair to the other customers when the store employs know and locate the 95% item in seconds,
5. Since there are cameras, then look and see what goes on the last past several months on the “Moving of the Dots” days
6. I am just wondering if this is right or fair to the other paid customers
Bealls outlet is the worst company to work for and shop at they are so fake they act like they care for there employees but they dont. I will never shop at any Bealls or Bealls outlet they are a joke...
I had the same thing happen to me. Well FIRST I TRIED to shop there and picked out three pairs of shoes. BUT the line was sooooo long and only one cashier. I had to abandon my purchases. So I got one pair of shoes as a gift from Bealls. I'm not sure if they bought the wrong style. Similar but not exaclty same. Anyway these crocs hurt. I took them back..they said no problem go pick out shoes. Then at check out..they rung up both paird of shoes and them the return..BUT THEN she said I owed $35 I said what? The shoes were haning on the rack for $41.99 but Bealls was only going to give me $21 and asked if that was OK. I left screaming obscenities. THERE is no way I am GIVING BEALLS a $41.99 pai of shoes and taking $21 off. It is a SCAM. I went on Amazon and bought $143 in shoes. He he and got another pair from ShoeBUY. PEOPLE you dont have to stop goign to Bealls. Go there Try on thier shoes..and then buy elsewhere. No way was I going to tell the gift giver I need a receipt. Bealls would have yet another excuse. They lost my business over $20 scam.

Bealls has crappy products. A $100 lamp shorted out..and new Oneida dishes wobbled. Return policy is a scam. Dont trust the review ratings on THIS site because store employees "rate down" any bad responses.
