I purchased a dryer + delivery and installation services from Best Buy on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Brian, the lead tech, arrived at our house an appeared combative and belligerent. From the moment he pulled in front of our house he gave me the impression that he was an unhappy man who did not want to be at our home. For example, when he and his team member pulled up, I open our garage door to greet him; however, he did not come to inquire about the job details like looking at the laundry room/installation location. When he did finally come to the door I shared that we would like him to move the old washer and dryer less than 10 feet from the laundry room to our garage. He immediately rebuffed me and said he could only move the old washer and dryer 6 feet or less. He indicated that If he moved the washer and dryer more than 6 feet he could or may be sued. He angrily showed me a document he said indicating no haul away. He and his team member moved the items maybe 4 feet into our hallway which is 3’7”. He also chided me for not having the old appliances disconnected and moved. I acquiesced and accepted his assessment of the situation based on BestBuy rules. After having to move the washer and dryer into the hallway, we now have a hall passage way of 1 foot.
I am not trying to dictate your 3rd party policies; however, I like BestBuy and would like to see them continue to successfully operate in Baton Rouge. His delivery attitude was definitely not in line with trying to cultivate new customers.
