We went to Bill Eads RV's Inc
We went to Bill Eads RV's Inc. to buy a travel trailer last weekend. The sales agent was nice, but then the young manager was extremely rude! We decided to leave and ended up buying a new trailer from Mesa RV in Sacramento instead. I don't recommend this company, and they should definitely fire the rude manager for how he treated customers. Before going to Mesa RV, we also stopped by *** across the street. We told them about our experience and they said they often hear about the rudeness there. Save your money and go somewhere else!
I bought a Winnebago from a dealership like 6 months ago
I bought a Winnebago from a dealership like 6 months ago. When I brought it home, I noticed the door screen didn't shut properly and there was a crack in the wall. Then, a week later, the side became bubbly. I contacted them, and they promised a callback the same day. This promise repeated for 5 days! Eventually, they agreed to order a new door. Now, the heater is broken, and they've fixed nothing, nor have they returned my calls. Moreover, a collections agency contacted me about the trailer I traded in, claiming I missed 4 payments because the dealership failed to send a check. This has damaged my credit. These people are incredibly unprofessional. I'm never going back there again and just hope to resolve these issues soon.
I bought a trailer two months ago, the 2021 model, from another dealer
I bought a trailer two months ago, the 2021 model, from another dealer. It had a problem - the door would randomly refuse to close or open. Additionally, the toilet had a leak and the screen door was torn. They kept the trailer for a week and then told me that the screen door was my problem. Even though the trailer has a one-year warranty, this dealer refused to honor it. When I called to pick up the trailer, they claimed it was fixed. But that wasn't true, as they never contacted the manufacturer about the screen door issue. They also wouldn't provide me with the phone number of their dealer owner. Instead, they told me to find the manufacturer's number in my owner's manual, which they refused to give me. Then, as I was heading home, they called me and asked when I would pick up the trailer. They also threatened to charge me $25 per day for storage if I didn't pick it up the next day. This was the worst service experience I've ever had. I paid $17000 for this trailer, and I definitely wouldn't recommend shopping with this dealer.
I had a decent experience buying my RV which was going to be my new home
I had a decent experience buying my RV which was going to be my new home. I put a deposit down in April. They had given me over a month to pay for it because my house was in escrow and I did not want to finance the *** At one point they tried to push me to finance it even though we had an agreement, so I refused. I attempted to pick it up on June 5th when I brought them payment and had the delivery scheduled. The problems started on the day of delivery. It wasnt ready because they needed to replace two batteries, there was a propane leak, and the step wasnt working. I should have turned and run then. They had over a month to get this ready for pick up.When we did the walk through the man was helpful. I thought this was a courtesy service, but I later found out I was paying $785 for the service (added onto the contract). He noted a lot of repairs, some minor, some major (old tires that legally could not be sold). He also mentioned that whoever did the pre-inspection clearly didnt take his time. I met with the service department that agreed to the repairs. Some of the problems were fixed and some were not. It was returned to the service department almost immediately when the jacks wouldnt go up all the way. Seven months later and my RV has spent 5 months in their shop. Most of the time it seems to just be sitting on the lot. The problems are never ending. One time it was in, I went three times to pick it up before they got it right. This bucket of bolts should have never been sold to a woman retiring and hitting the road (or maybe to anyone, for that matter.) I feel like someone should have had the morals to guide me in another direction as they knew this was an exciting new adventure. Instead, they allowed a sale to go through of a motorhome with never ending issues. One example, the step didn't work right from the beginning and after trying to fix it several times, they told me that sometimes steps on some RV's don't go up and down when parked and that I would just have to hop out or step up. Keep in mind, I'm 63 and this was okay with them. I was able to eventually identify the problem on my own. Another example, the leveling jacks didn't work right from the beginning either. They would not go up all the way. After the first time they looked at them, they told me they just needed WD40. On my first of two road trips with the jacks not going up right, I was greatly distressed not knowing if I should even use them but they had repeatedly told me they were fine. Finally, the mechanic got under it and said the springs were old and needed to be replaced. Now they work, but the sensors are incorrectly detecting what is happening so they flash and beep, telling me to stop driving. I finally thought I was road-ready in November and left for a two-week trip. 24 hours later, I lost power in the cabin. The mobile mechanic that came out diagnosed the inverter as the problem. While the mechanic was there, he removed the propane detector because it was beeping. He pointed out that both that and the smoke detector should have been replaced YEARS (10+) before I bought it. It seems like that would be a normal safety check before the sale was completed. The mobile mechanic was unable to get an inverter as quickly as I needed it, so I returned home. Since I bought the extended warranty from ***, I decided to bring it back there (insanity it seems now). When I got home, I called and made an appointment for about 10 days later (December 9th) because that was the soonest they could get me in. I told them exactly what was wrong and what else I would like to have looked at or fixed and to please order the parts. I was told they could look at it on the 9th and should be able to have the work done within 2 days. A week and a half later they called and asked me some questions about what the problem was, which meant they had not touched it. A couple days later, I went to get some items out of it and found it had still not been touched except to move it around the lot. In this process, the ignition key broke off in the ignition yet another problem. The inverter had not been turned into warranty, which they must do to start the work, nor was it ordered. I reminded them again that this is my home and I need it back working. Another week later and we get to Christmas time and the report that they have replaced the ignition and are moving it and turning it into the warranty company - finally. On New Years Eve, with no responses for my requests for updates, I was $2600 deep into a hotel stay because my home is in the shop. That ***, the Service Director at ***, told me that a request had been sent to the warranty company. On January 3, 2022 I called the warranty company to ask some questions about reimbursement of expenses incurred during this latest problem and found out they did not even have a claim. I texted a question about that to *** and got no response. January 5th, the claim had still not been submitted and again I asked them what was going on. ***, the service representative, called me that afternoon asking questions about my warranty because they had called the wrong warranty company that day. I gave her the info for mine, which they should have had since I bought it from ***. I asked what took so long to submit it and got no response to that question. While speaking with the warranty company, I found out the actual contract for the warranty was tampered with. I bought a warranty for $6,210 but when the contract number didn't match what I had, I asked for a copy. The actual contract price was $3,245! My written copy from *** shows the higher price as does my cancelled check. This is almost a $3,000 difference! On January 6th I went into *** sales office to speak with the General Manager who wasnt at work that day. Instead, I spoke with *** from Finance and ***, the Sales Manager. They listened and apologized and made promises that I would be contacted the following day by one of the of the General Manager. After hearing nothing, at 2:30 on Friday I called, and *** the General Manager returned my call and promised a call back with updates from the service department in 5 minutes. At 4:30, *** from Service called and told me the claim was in and approved and she would forward the email. I have continued to ask for updates and a date I can expect to have my RV back, but still no word.On Saturday as requested by *** the *** I brought in my statements for hotels that they said they would consider reimbursing. We talked and he promised I would hear from them by 1:00 pm on Monday, January 10th. I gave them all day on top of the months. As promised by me, with no offer of resolution, no dates, no nothing, I am turning this into the ComplaintsBoard.com as I have no other apparent recourse and they clearly only say the right things but dont do the right things.I am still waiting for answers on:1)When will my service be completed along with the re-inspection they said they would do?2)What is the reason for the difference between my warranty and the actual contract and when can I expect a refund for overcharging me?3)What will they do about all the extra expenses I have incurred while they take their sweet time with my home?4)Is there any resolution to this terrible situation? Each person I have dealt with has made promises and none have been fulfilled. They never give me the updates they promise, and I am left in the dark again. All in all, from June to now, this is a disaster and a horrible business to deal with!
Bill Eads RV'S Complaints 2
We gave Bill a $500 deposit over the phone to hold a trailer for us
We gave Bill a $500 deposit over the phone to hold a trailer for us. He said it didn't work on his side, but it appeared on mine, along with an unauthorized charge of $321.78 that I didn't even know about. We've been trying for 2 weeks to get our money back because he ended up refusing to give us the trailer he promised. He won't answer our calls and we've tried many times! And his staff supposedly "don't know anything".
On September 19, 2022, I bought a 34' Fifth Wheel from Bill Eads RV
On September 19, 2022, I bought a 34' Fifth Wheel from Bill Eads RV. The transaction went well and they were supposed to check the unit. They found issues with the landing gear and had to order parts. I signed the papers and trusted they would fix it. While they were making the repairs, I moved all my stuff and food into the new camper. A week later, they said it was ready and I picked it up on 10/10. But when I got back to my RV site in ***, CA, the landing gear didn't work properly, and the refrigerator was broken, ruining all my food. I stayed in a hotel from 10/10 to 10/18 in *** and ***, the manager said they would cover the bill, but they didn't cover it all. The hotel cost $1957.50, but they only sent $1659.06, a shortage of $298.44. I've been eating out for three weeks and haven't asked for reimbursement. They ordered a new cooling unit for the camper. On November 4, I took the unit back to them in Rocklin, CA to fix the refrigerator. I picked it up on November 10, but the auto level system still didn't work. With the help of YouTube, we figured out the problem and replaced the valve. When I finally got back to ***, CA with the unit, the refrigerator still didn't work. I went back and forth with ***, and he said it would take up to 3 days to cool down, which is not true since I've been in campers for 17 years with multiple units. On November 12, I woke up thinking it was working, but it was 12 degrees outside. On November 13, I had to go to my next project in ***. I arrived on November 16, and found that the refrigerator still didn't work. I contacted *** again, and he said it would take days to cool down, which is not true. On November 20, I called a mobile RV mechanic who inspected the unit and did a diagnostic test. The cooling unit was bad and needed to be replaced. I bought a refrigerator to keep outside until this is resolved, costing me $276.04. The mobile mechanic contacted the refrigerator manufacturer and is working on getting a new unit under warranty. The problem is that Bill Eads RV (***) said they won't pay the mobile mechanic bill, even though they promised to cover all costs. So this unit, which cost me $50,000, along with groceries, hotel expenses, and now the mechanic bill, is not being supported by the seller. I have almost 100 emails between *** and myself, which I will soon post on various RV sites.
