After months of sending medical papers and court documents to Binder and Binder to see if they would represent my son Thomas. They sent a letter stating that based on the information provided they could not represent Thomas and that is fine but my request was that they send back Thomas s court papers and medical reports from his DRS so that we can move on...

Binder & Binder legal

What People Don't Understand -

1 - Binder & Binder are NOT attorneys. They are "advocates".

#2 - Social Security is nothing but a waiting game. They are understaffed and underfunded. It is not that the lawyer/representative is not doing anything, it is that your file is at the SSA in a pile and will not get looked at or scheduled for months or years. There is nothing for your representative to do during this wait.

#3 - 90% of cases are denied the very first time due to the fact that over half of the denied cases will not appeal. This is from an attorneywho previously worked FOR SSA

#4 - it is not determined by whether your condition is on the list of disabilities, but by how severe your symptoms are

#5 - it is also determined by if you can do ANY job (janitorial, laundry services, etc.) not just be the job you previously had

#6 - contact your Congressman about your case. It's not a guarantee, but it can help.

I have been through this process several times - first for my (now ex) husband who had a rare autoimmune disease (took 2 years from initial filing), and my son who has severe PTSD (1 1/2 years from initial filing), and now myself. I was denied at first Judicial Hearing for SSD and now just got my date for SSI Judicial Hearing. I filed initially in 2013

just found this post and when i have seen the binder and binder ads on TV they don't mention advocates they mention that they are attorneys and will represent you in the court of law. so they are advertising that they practice law. which is misleading to many people which is where many of these complaints are stemming from.

i have not seen one recently so they could have fixed what i remember about their ads.

Binder & Binder disability claim - failed promises

In 2008 I hired Binder and Binder to handle my Social Security claim. They come across on their TV commercial as a firm you can trust to do everything needed to win. What a joke that turned out to be. They are very good at talking to you and making you feel they are doing it all. But instead my case kept getting shuffled to a new caseworker every few months, and I would get these calls from new workers who always seemed like they were starting over and knew NOTHING about my case. When we finally got to my hearing the advocate was yet another new worker who was very unfamiliar with my case, and even failed to provide the most recent medical records. They provided NO opening or closing statement, and even the Judge had to ask them at the end, "Don't you want to request more time so you can get me these missing medical reports?" Don't be fooled by their initial appearance. Do some research and find someone with better reviews. It will definately be worth your time.

Binder & Binder legal help for ssdi

They did nothing! I never got phone calls, updates, or relevant information. I would contact them and they were rude and treated me like I was an idiot! The lawyer actually showed up and he was asking judge questions that were very out of left field. It was like it was the first day he even had seen my name, let alone my painful disabilities. I lost. I asked to appeal the loss and I was told verbally that going ahead was a good idea. Then like two days later, I got notice they were no longer representing me. I called other attorneys but cannot find one that will take a case after it has already gone before the judge. I believed that they would help me and all the waiting and struggling to pay things would pay off in the end because they were helping me. DO NOT USE THEM! They are horrible and do nothing! At least now I can find a competent attorney when I re-file.

Binder & Binder Unauthorized charges

They were supposed to get me this huge settlement that went back like ten years but the judge disallowed the settlement. So, basically, Binder didn't do their job so they didn't get squat. So, for the last year or so, Binder has been trying to extort money from me. First they wanted me to sign an order to SSA so they could get paid something. Now they are telling me I need to pay them from my pocket. All I got was SSI. Which isn't disability. You see all the Binder ad's. They market themselves as the disability attorneys not the SSI attorneys. I would have been happy to give them their 30% or whatever from the settlement but there was no settlement. Now they are going back on the deal we made and trying to screw me just because they are lawyers. When I called them the little ### I spoke with was so rude I lost it. I'm guessing they didn't forward any of these letters to the judge because they usually say that it has been forwarded. I guess that is now my responsibility. No wonder they went bankrupt.

Binder & Binder social security disability

Back in 2010, I retained Binder and Binder to represent me after my initial denial from Social Security. My first contact with their intake personnel should have been enough to send me running. She was brusque, uncaring, sluggish sounding, and simply unconcerned and unprofessional. Although, I will not publish her name, I will never forget it. Throughout the entire process, I was inundated with paperwork to complete on a weekly basis, phone calls from them updating mundane information, I was asked to get forms completed by my doctor(s), and specialist(s), paid out of my own pocket for fees for said forms, and waited 2 years for a court date with an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ); only to be denied by said ALJ; who was more interested in catching-up with my representative from Binder and Binder. As I sat next to this inept man/person (representative from Binder and Binder), I was instantly aware that I was on my own. And true to my suspicions, he sat next to me after catching-up with how everyone was doing, where they were and other pleasantries with the ALJ, and remained as a statute as the judge plummeted me with accusations, and attempted to make me feel lower than ###; my representation from Binder and Binder (using the term representative loosely) remained quiet. I was amazed that I wasted three years with this firm and I had to admit that I truly am crazy! My advice to anyone contemplating using Binder and Binder please reconsider-- Run Fast and Run in Another DIRECTION! I will always regret trusting them and its kind of surreal because their motto is: "Thank you for putting your trust in Binder and Binder." Ha-ha!

Binder & Binder Benefits claim

I was approved at hearing stage for benefits, and I saw that the ALJ instructed me and/or SSA to not pay them the agreed-upon 25% of back pay. Binder and Binder are now billing me directly, but aren't they in violation for going over the ALJ's head to ask me to pay them? They'd need to be direct-fee approved, right? Who'd approve that type of thing? SSA? ALJ? B&B?
When I went to talk to the SSA folks about finances, the gentleman said, "wow, Binder and Binder must have really messed up for the judge to specify that they are to get nothing." On the phone today, SSA told me they had not been registered as my advocates.

Binder & Binder Social Security Case

This company is not the best. They are people that prey on the disabled. We hired them to do our case for Social security disability and they have been no good. Binder & Binder THEIFS

I had a social security case starting in 2006 and ending in 2013. The first two years of my case was handled by a different attorney. After he lost he bailed on me so I had to find another attorney it was Binder and Binder. I should have done my home work a little better. They won my case after several appeals and the case becoming a federal court case.Long story short it has been almost a year now since I won and I am still waiting for my settlement. Why because binder and binder are holding my settlement hostage so they can try to get more money than they earned.Out of the eight years they only represented me for six but they want all eight years of pay. They say they are here for you and don't worry my ###. I have spoken to them and they are blaming social security for this mess
yet they effuse to do anything to help me now that the case has been won. They even went as far to say that they were only hired to win the case not see it thru. All I can say is do not use or let any one you no use binder and binder because you will be sorry you did.I hope this saves future disabled people from getting more disabled. They screwed around with my case so long I ended up selling every thing of value I owned and cost me my marriage what are you willing to lose?

Should have done my research. Retained them before when I filed big mistake. They do absolutely nothing, they wait until you've been denied before they do anything. They don't return phone calls they don't even communicate with the SSA until you've been denied. The person assigned to your case is a paralegal in name only. Please don't do business with them my case was in Virginia and I'm trying to communicate with an office in New York. IMG...,

Binder & Binder Criminals

I have spent many hours reading the posts on this site and
believe that these Binder & Binder people have gone too far and without
oversight of the judicial system (it makes you wonder who Binder & Binder
is paying off for such protection). Well enough is enough. It is time for us,
the people who have been victimized by these slime balls. I think it is time we
band together and take this battle public. I would like to gather enough “victims”
to band together across the country and take this battle to the front doors of
every Binder & Binder office in country on the same day. I have the address
of every of every Binder and Binder office across the country. I want enough
folks to gather on the same day at the same time at every location across the
country. My hope is to get every media outlet possible to know of our battle
and cover our fight. If we could get some media coverage and public outrage
over the victimization of people with disabilities, our judicial system will have
no choice but to do something about them. With all of the “victims” and their
families in support along with consumer advocates as much media as well as any
others, we can bring enough pressure on this disgusting organization and bring
them down. I personally think they should be imprisoned as well as be closed
down. Unfortunately, these people have “victimized” so many individuals they
have enough money to protect themselves from jail. But, we can definitely hurt
their business. Hopefully with enough exposure to their true tactics and record
of victimization we can put them out of business altogether. If you wish to take part in this action,
please sign up for my e-mail distribution list for more information to follow.
Please send an e-mail to [protected]@gmail.com
with e-mail list addition in the subject line.

The more of you that join, the greater our chances of taking
this firm out of business and stop the victimization of disabled Americans. The
government won’t stop them, so it is up to us to do the job!

Binder & Binder Mis representation

They have really screwed my life up, long short. Went to court, meet advocate for the first time
2 minutes prior to court hearing, he looked like he just stepped out of high school, Had all of information incorrect, such as diagnosis, aid that I had returned to work, when in fact I was still on medical leave the day I went to my hearing.

But the biggest mistake, was that he told me that I was to go back to work, "try to work, and if I had any issues, to come back, and they would try to re apply for SS

I just now found out, 11 months later, that I was in, approved for permanent disability. I call Binder and Binder back, and now they say yes, however all my records have been destroyed.
Now, I am on the verge of being fired, because I have missed a lot of days of work, due to my inability to work.

The advocate, Binder and Binder sent to me, was an idiot who knows squat.;
I think a bunch of us should go for a class action suit against Binder and Binder. I am having to see a lawyer to see if there is anything that can be done for me. But in the meantime, I hope Binder and Binder will have to pay everyone back that they screwed up, and then get shut down. they deserve it!

Binder & Binder Mis-leading

After filing for SSI/Disability for my sister, doing all the initial paperwork myself and having her be denied one is basically forced to hire an attorney. We had no relationship with any attorney and saw the commercial for Binder & Binder. HUGE mistake! After nearly six (6) years of being bounced around from one case worker (clerk) to another, submitting medical report, after medical report, photo's, a zillion phone calls, and just a ONE TIME face to face (for 10 minutes at a hearing) my sister was denied several times. We ended up at yet another appeal hearing where my sister received a partial judgement of disability for 5 months! We filed in 2007, hired Binder & Binder in 2009 and they got us 5 months? At that last Appeals Hearing I asked for a business card since this was the one and only time I met any representative for Binder & Binder. It was then and only then I realized they ARE NOT licensed attorney's at all! I even asked the gentlemen who showed up 5 minutes before the hearing if he was a licensed attorney, he tried to over talk me and avoid the question. I left the court room, got on line and started to further research my suspicions. Low and behold we had now wasted nearly six years believing this company was providing legal services for us and we paid them to do so. TOTAL misleading that they represent themselves as attorney's! We fired them immediately and although we cannot stand to see or watch their commercials on television we have noticed their new commercials mention several times Social Security Advocates! BEWARE everyone as we do not want this to happen to any other innocent, once hard working now disabled person!

Binder & Binder Misrepresentation

Beware. Binder and Binder will usually not send an Attorney to represent you. Ther are only one or two licensed attorney's per each office. The usual office handles about 250-300 clients per caseworker. There are no less than 40 caseworkers per office. Do you actually think that 2 Attorney's can handle that many Disability cases? You are going to be represented by an "Advocate". An "Advocate" does not have to have a Law Degree. In Binder and Binder's offices you do not even need a college degree to represent someone in the most important matter of their lives. Get an Attorney. You will pay less and be better represented. Most of the good Attorney's that were with Binder and Binder now work for the Social Security Administration, and they know the games they play, so don't expect to win your case.

I recently went to a hearing with Binder and Binder representing me - I was told by my "rep" (who is not an attorney) that I had a chance with a "closed case", meaning I would only receive retroactive benefits IF even approved. That is because my medical reports were not current enough, which I understand because SSA feels that if you improve, you should go back to work. What I don't like is being just a number, so that a phone call with my rep being too long because you are talking for almost 1 hour. You don't even meet him or her until the hearing date. Not what I call "personal attention", but they go by volume.
If my claim is denied again, would only reapply with another attorney. THat remains to be seem, will find out in couple of months.
To their credit, they are efficient in following up with client and telling you what forms you need, but probably have too big a caseload.

They dont return calls, the idiot they had as my adovocate, had all of my paperwork mixed up, for i. E. , he had the incorrect diagnois, he had me back at work when i went to my hearing, when infact, i was still on medical leave. Now, that idiot high school kid that was my advocate, has my whole life messed up, because, he told me that i was approved, however, i need to show the courts that i will at least make the attempt to go back to work, and if i can't handle it, i would have to come back to them, and start this whole thing all over again.
Today i found out, that i was approved for permanant disability. Now, that i am back at work, i am to the point, that if i miss one more day, i will be fired. But social security will take another year to make their decision thank you binder and binder for you incompetant advocate trainee that you sent to me. And thank you united states of america, for not listening to me, when i tried to apply for social security on my own, and when i tried to dispute binder and binder's fees, and our great government, denied that too, i am so ready to move to canada, this country will put me in my grave.

Binder & Binder the worst law firm ever & they mistreat clients!!

They claimed to be the #1 best Social security disability advocates. A year later my hearing had finally come, my caseworker was not doing her job, and Binder & Binder was not sending my doctors reports. I was told they wouldn't send any medical reports, and that I had to call doctors & get my own medical records, instead of the legal staff doing their job, and focusing on winning my case- they ignored my phone calls (at times I didn't hear from them for months!), and when they did call, they were rude & unprofessional. One week before my hearing date I finally received a phone call from BINDER & BINDER- They lost my case file, and were not prepared for my hearing, and got mad with me; because they were not doing their jobs! I have a written letters from them saying they need money from me to win my case!?! They have been exorting me for money, and they haven't even won my case! So I had to fire them, for incompetence and poor legal representation! DON'T EVER HIRE BINDER & BINDER- THEY ARE A LOUSY LAW FIRM!

I hired Binder & Binder way back in 2003 after watching television and seeing a commercial of theirs that they do all the leg work, will contact your doctors and hospitals, and obtain all records necessary and me as a client will not have to do anything. They will win for me and then they get 25% off of the lump sum. I liked this idea. My only complaint then was that each time I called them to see where we are at, I had a new representative. In '05 I got a denial letter. I was dumbfounded, though I would win. I spoke to my rep the next day and he assured me they would do the appeal. I felt a bit better. I was not working at the time, only getting spousal support. But in '06 I did win, got my $8, 000.00 lump sum, they took what they needed before I got my 8. To t his day I do get around $870 every month, changing a bit every year. Really, to be honest, I have had no complaints about this company. I am also shocked to see everyone who has had an issue.
Now my daughter is using them and they want her to go see a doctor of their choosing an hour away from us, but they want my daughter to pay the doctor out of her own money $500.00. What in heavens name is that about? They are supposed to do it all, right.? This is a big major complaint from me.. I am on low income and do not have that kind of money to help my daughter out. She has no one else to help her. But still I was always told that if they choose a doctor, then they pay for the exam. My daughter went to a doctor last year and she did not have to pay. I never paid for any doctor back in '03''06 and I was sent to several. So what is the story on that. Anyone know? Anyone elsel asked to pay for an exam?

I know you make it your lifestyle to make claims of racism and the like, but how do you know they mistreat MINORITY clients? From other complaints I've seen, they mistreat clients of all ethnicities. Not everything is a racial issue -- sometimes people are just all around slimy.

File a complaint against them. A lawyer who drops a case before a court date like that can possibly be reprimanded or suspended by the Bar for such behaviour.
