I purchased 5 magazines on 9/30. I paid $36ish using an old gift card and $25ish on my credit card. When I gave these magazines to my mom, she’d already bought four of them. I brought the four duplicate magazines and the original receipt back on 10/1 to return. I was offered a $47 gift card and $3 to go back on my card. I explained that I expected my $25ish back and the rest on the gift card. This, apparently, isn’t policy. After speaking with the store general manager because the associate who originally helped me kept making quiet asides that were disrespectful, the general manager offered to give me the cost of one of the magazines with tax back as cash and $36 back on a gift card. I accepted this but am completely perplexed that a retail store would stiff a customer her cash back in favor of a significantly larger amount on a gift card. While I know this is better for BAM’s bottom line, it isn’t good for them, long-term. I will avoid this store at all costs. They aren’t customer-friendly.
When we told the lady what we wanted she said yes this was the book. We ordered the book. Just received the book and it’s not the book we wanted. Called up there the lady wanted our order number and told us that we can return it to the store. We get to the store with the book. And guess what. We can’t refund for this book. It was ordered in error. It was the wrong book but now I’m out 60.00 dollars and stuck with a book that I didn’t want to start with. What kind of honor system is this. The book has no damages to it. Not even used. Just received it today. And they won’t refund me.
