Bottom Line Books keeps sending their annual book despite notes sent to the on the prior bill. These books are unsolicited and there is no apparent way to stop delivery. According to others in this predicament, if you fail to pay for this unsolicited book they threaten to mess up your credit report.

This is an out and out criminal scam on the part of this unscrupulous company and we don't seem to have any recourse except to pay.

This is close to the problem I have had. I paid the bill and still get re billed madnesses. With the usual "If you don't pay this it will be turned over to collection." I have noticed several similar complaints on other sites such as "[redacted]". It sounds to me like some smart lawyer should put together a class action law suit. With all the payments and re billed payments, this outfit should have plenty of money. But then again, someone so incompetent as this at running a business has probably blown any thing that resemble corporate revenue.

I was sent the Bottom Line 2007 Year Book as a FREE gift in the mail. And about a week or two later I received a bill for $31.00. The word FREE means you don't have to pay any moneys. Right! Whats that about...

I will send their book back to them without paying for it, seeing that I never ordered it in the first place.

Keep getting unsolicited books, returning them to sender and being billed and re billed with no acknowledgment of return being received by Bottom Line Books. How do you get them to stop?

Bottom Line is doing the same thing to me...sending an unordered book and billing. I am not going to pay. If they harass me in anyway, I'm turning them in for mail fraud. Does anyone have a better solution to bring this company down or at least to make them stop this unethical rip off?

I also received a Bottom Line Health Breakthroughs book in 2007, which I kept and paid for. But, I did not order the 2008 Bottom Line Health Breakthrough which I just received. The advertisement order gives you a 30 day trial examination which you can return the book and owe nothing. Which I intend to do asap. You need to write on the bill I DID NOT ORDER THIS BOOK< I DO NOT WANT IT>DO NOT SEND ANYMORE UNSOLICITED BOOKS TO ME> You need to make a copy of the advertisement, a copy of the bill you sent back. and send all back thru the post office certified and registered with a return receipt...If they bother you any further with any kind of bill, or a note saying they never received the returnd book, or they threaten to hurt your credit rating in any way, you have the copies and receipts of everything , then you go to a reputable lawyer. You can also go the post office and talk to them about receiving unsolicited mail to put a stop to this . There ussed to be a law that protected people from unsolicited mail.

I ORDERED OFF THE WEB SITE THE BOOK BY THE JOANWILEN AND LYDIA WILEN.. THE TITLE WAS SECRET FOOD CURES... THEN ONE NITE I WAS READING ANOTHER SALES PROMO... AND ORDERED IT CALLED HEALING REMEDIES.. RECIEVED THE BOOK AND WHAT I READ WAS VERY SIMULAR SO I GOT THE SECRET FOOD CURES OUT AND COMPARED THEM... SAME SIZE SAME CONTENTS THE RAISEN AND GIN RECIPE FOR ARTHRITIS IS ON PAGES 10 AND 11 IN BOTH BOOKS AND EACH BOOK HAS THE SAME # OF PAGES 335. NOTHING WAS SAID ON THE SALES PROMO THAT THESE BOOKS WERE THE SAME.. BECAUSE IF IT HAD I WOULD'T HAVE ORDERED IT... I COULD HAVE JUST ORDERED 2 ON MY FIRST ORDER... THIS IS I'M SURE ILLEAGLE.. SO IT'S BUYER BEWARE.. THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE TO GET DEEP INTO YOUR POCKETS.

This company is crazy
they still send me unpay bill,and if you dont pay it will be turned over to collection
I pay a long time ago and send a receip bill to probe it
and my phone numberand nobody answer no phone number to contact them
i will never do any bussines in the future

I am having the same problem with this company for thier BottomLine Healing Remedies book, which I did not order, nor have I rececived it. I am faxing them a letter with a copy of the bill requesting that they remove me from their records. I am not pay for anything I did not order or receive. I had written to them to cancel any further subscriptions. I then received a telephone call..I was never able to find a number for them. I told them to stop all mailings. I was told they would put through the request and if I ever received anything else from them, keep it, throw it away, or give it away and disregard any further bills. That is what I have been doing. We will see if they try to harm my credit.

I received a book from Bottom Line that I did not order nor even want in my library. The name of the book was Health Breakthroughs 2008 (according to the statement I received). The book was delivered although it was never opened because I returned it to sender which I was instructed by one of the staff to do. That was in November. Then 12-21-07 I received a reminder notice telling me to send the payment now. No way do I intend to pay for something I did order let alone keep. This Company should be stopped from sending out books that were not ordered and then demanding payment.

I am a subscriber to Bottom Health Line magazine (which I must say is very informative). It shocks me to see all the problems people are having. Well, I must say that they did send me some post cards to get a "free" book, but if you read on there they state tha they send books to you thereafter. However, I noticed on there that it says "30 day trial" So you have 30 days to review the book & if you don't like it I would suggest to sent it back certified mail.

However, for the people that just got books without requestion them, I would suggestion contacting their customer support:

Hi all;
was in the same boat here until I called customer Service. They claimed I signed up for annual service back in 06' for the Bottom Line Yearbooks. I refused my 08' edition and let the post office send it back.

I just got a bill in the mail today for it. Narda! I called CS and "set them straight." You can do the same. Here is the number for the Yearbook CS Rep. only: [protected]. When the auto-voice is thru, disregard his instructions to press a certain key to obtain info about an order you are waiting for. Press the number given to go to that CS Rep. She closed my account and told me to tear up the bill.

I am having the same problem. Thought I was alone. What a slimy way to do business. I just decided I'd had enough with the unending invoices, after I'd returned a copy of them indicating I didn't receive nor want their product. I decided to go to the Internet to find a contact number, and discovered that I was not alone. Sounds like it's time to write to Dateline.

Have received two notice of the YEARBOOK was shipped to you over 2 months ago and that I owed $30.90. I did NOT receive this book nor do I want it. Stilling trying to connect them.

I agree with all of these complaints as they are identifacl to mine. I did find CS numbers that have allowed me to talk to at least talk to a human about my accounts. They are:

For books (Yearbook, etc.) it's [protected]
For newsletters/publications (Health, Personnal, etc.) it's [protected]

I talked to BOTH of the CS lines today and have now been assured that they have removed me from "auto-renew" and from "mail-contact" status/lists and that I should not receive anything more from them unless I expressly contact them to do so - we'll see - I've been fighting with these folks by mail and notes on invoices, etc. for 6+months on 3 different subscriptions, and for 2+ years on the damn Yearbook.

A very unscrupulous company in my experience. I told them in this last conversation that if I received any more renewals or solicitations from them I would send a letter to my local Better Busienss Bureau - in case that would be of any value.

I've tried to tell them to stop sending books to my mom who has Alzheimers. I've been fighting this battle since july 07. I am on a mission again. Does this ever end... I may seek the advice of a lawyer myself.

I have had a similar experience--my father got a book in the mail (Health Breakthroughs 2008) that he didn't order. Since he moved out of state, I called him, and he told me that he didn't order it, and to send it back "Return to Sender", which I did. Since then, I have gotten 2 bills in the mail for $35.92. Since I don't have the book (they do), and since it was unsolicited in the first place, I got on their website (www.bottomlinesecrets.com) and sent an email. I'm still waiting for a response. However, there is also a list of phone numbers to contact them at on that same site (on the bottom of the Customer Service page, under where you can send them an email). I don't know if any of them would help, but it might give someone a way out of this scam. I haven't been threatened with the collection agency thing yet, but if I am, I promise you, I will sue them for harassment.

I sent an earlier comment about this company, after going through a similar experience with one of their books. Since then, I have done some research, and have resolved my issue. First, I came across their website (www.bottomlinesecrets.com). On there, there is a link to email customer service, plus a list of addresses, phone numbers, and fax numbers for every division of Bottom Line Books. First, I sent an email, explaining that I had received a book that I had not ordered and had sent back a month before, but had received 2 bills for it despite that. 4 days later, I called them directly [protected]), and they told me they had sent a response to my email (which they had, the day before), and they reiterated that they were sorry for the inconvenience, that I no longer owed the bill, and my account was cleared. I suggest anyone having trouble with this company try these methods to see if you can get resolution there. It worked for me!

I have had the same problem as the others that I have read about. Thanks to the comments with phone numbers I called and they say they have done away with this account. The account belongs to my mother who is 100 years old and bed ridden. I have sent books back and bills but she continued to receive them. I am very grateful to have found this site with phone numbers. I will see what happens now.

My elderly mother sometime in the past made the error of ordering something over the phone using her debit card. This past month she has gotten charges from several magazine company with subscriptions she didn't make plus a charge from Bottom Line Books 'Ultimate Healing' for $51.90. I called them and told then that in her current condition she could not possibly have ordered anything and to please cancel order and not to send anything else. The man was very rude. The next day I checked her bank account online and he had not only not credited the money back to her account but had acutally charged her another $56.85. These crooks must be stopped! My husband has suggested contacting the state attorney general and filing a complant. He did that a few years ago about a similar thing and get results.

Has anyone else had suspicions of Bottom Line Books also being connected to some of these magazine companies?

This company has twice sent me books that I did not order. They have my name and address but I never ordered the books. I had to pay to send the books back and will have to do he same again. What can I do about this? Their address is P.O. Box 10292, Des Moines, IA 50336. Plz advise smb!

I received 2007 Bottom Line Year Book, piece of junk literature; paid for it anyway and canciled, now I just got 2008 Year Book; I REFUSE TO PAY for this CRAP, I did not order it, I found the following website and sent comment:

I had similar problems to the ones described for about 8 months. Finally I wrote to Better Business Bureau, 94 S. Turnpike Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492 describing my problem - I THINK the issue is now resolved. You can write to BBB in Des Moines, IA (from where the mailings originate) but they will forward it to CT as Corporate HQ is located there.

I have subsequently discovered that there is a menu on Bottom Line Books website which permits you to request them to "cease and desist".

BLB claims that I ordered a book and sent the Yearbook 2008 UNSOLICITED.

It was returned UNOPENED.

An additional complaint:

They provide NO CONTACT DATA of any sort, whether for the CUSTOMER SERVICE or the CORPORATE OFFICES.

We clearly require a law that those conducting business virtually over the INTERNET provide a real, physical address and location on their point-of-sale webpage.

After filing a complaint on this forum I continued to Google for a point of contact.
The Official, but UNPUBLISHED, Customer Service Number is 800.678.5835.
Another number which takes you to the Boardroom, apparently a more senior company in the constellation, did respond very professionally to my complaint, which had devolved into a rant.

I called the above listed number and did in fact speak with a customer representative. I told her that I wanted to be removed from any further mailings and to be removed from their list. She said she would delete me right away. Note: The rep also stated that she had an account under my daughters name and my daughter had never heard of them.

I also received an unsolicited Health Breakthroughs 2008. I went to the post office the day I got it and returned it unopened with 'REFUSED - RETURN TO SENDER' on the front. But, as reported by others, I still got the bills. So, today, I called them. Here's the number. [protected]. Here's the deal. If you bought Health Breakthroughs 2007, which I did, somewhere in print on the order form it says you were buying a series, hence the blast of 2008 books. However, they have now cancelled the series, according to the customer rep I talked to. He acknowledged that they had received my returned book, and said I could ignore the bill in my hand for $35.92, and my account was inactive. So, there it is.

I have had the same problem with the company. They send these cheerful notes about "automatically extending your subscription" to their publications and then they insist on payment. Their address, phone number and email listings seem to be nearly impossible to find.

I will not pay them and I "return to sender" on all their mail.

Ok, To all customers that get Bottom line Books: Ok to all you people that claim that they did not order books... Well you may have not orderd books but all you have to do is call the customer service line and the customer service reps are there to help you disregard the bill or to explain why your getting a bill.When you call you don't have to yell or curse or tell the rep that he/she is stupid just let them know what the proplem is and they can fix it .What you people don't understand is, they can't make it stop right now, they are not magical and have a wand they can waive and poof its done. Its all done by computer and we know how computers are... right. So if you get a bill call cust service and they will help you. Bottom line books is not as bad as what you think it is . All you people make it out to be bad because you get ticked off because of not getting what you want or because you dont read the fine print. And if you watch infomercials next time look at fine print where it says shipping and handling is not refunded!
