Is this the End? My name is Ronda Lee. I am a grandmother, 58 years old and to start this I must tell a story. When I was around 6 I lived in Baton Rouge and was shopping in a sears store with mom and my brothers. Mom stopped after much begging on our part at the candy store located by the elevators for us to look and I decided on the maple nuts. Oh the taste was the best in candies I ever had harder shell with chewy nutty flavor. I was hooked. From that day until now I always picked them as my favorite. After I was on my own, 19 I had every week a bag to nibble on. Thinking about it now that is around 2704 bags I have eaten. Wow! but while on a trip to Louisiana to visit my grandchildren on my trip back I stopped at several stores the commissary, walmarts and brookshires to purchase items to bring back to our home in Arkansas. Not too sure where I bought these but must of been one of these places I was 2 hours into my trip opening them to plop one in my mouth and oh my what happen to them? It was so hard no chewy and though the flavor was there I chipped a small piece out of my tooth. Lucky not big but I spit it out and about a hour later I tried again slowly chewing but no stopped the hardness of this had me thinking perhaps it was expired but looking no not that and no holes in bag so?Have you decided to change them add something different. I am not planning on buying any more for a bit. Hoping perhaps you made a bad batch?I will wait hoping I get a fresh batch? But the sadness was there all the way home 10 hour drive. I always enjoy a bag myself without having to share on those drives so I was disappointed. Please I know I am only one person, but I have spent over the years several thousand dollars on just that one type of candy Brach had made as well as many others over the years. Could you please address me and let me know. To futher help I saved the candies and if you want them I will gladly send to you, but if not let me know that too. Here is info that hopefully will help you too. Maple Nut Goodies 7 0z. Best used 07/12/17 under that is this 6J12BB123 the UPC # is [protected] I await your response.

Please bring back the old Maple Nut Goodies recipe. This new recipe is absolutely awful!
I agree. New maple nut goodies are no good. sent e mail to company and they sent me one back surprisingly enough. Said change in manufacturing process and are working to fix it. But how will we know when it is fixed. On the other hand they are sending me a coupon to buy one of their other products.
I picked up a bag of the Maple Nut Goodies, which I hadn't had in a while, and also picked up one for each of my two sisters, who love them like me. They were so bad, and didn't come close to tasting like the old ones. I loved the chewy candy and these were crunchy and did not taste as good.
I am going to try and return these to walmart, but I certainly won't buy any more. Bring back the original. Why do these companies always mess up a good thing.
Mine are hard as a rock
I too had a similar issue with an 11oz bag of nut goodies i purchased.
The exterior was really soft, almost slimy, the interior was like I bit into a rock.
Sad, these used to be one of my favorites. What happened Brach?
Why is there no way to contact the company on their website?
Mine were purchased early November 2017 and the info on the bag said "BEST BY 04/18/2018" 7G19CCBB314.
If you changed the candy, why? Did you not learn anything from "New Coke? Some things are best left alone.
Well I see from the comments above that I'm not crazy. My wife and I love the Maple Nut Goodies but something has changed. The coating is softer than before . Not a good texture. The core is way too hard. Like Rock candy. Used to be chewy and nutty. And the flavor is not as good as it used to be.
i totally agree with the above statements. I bought a bag of Brach's maple nut candies and they were hard and just not the same. i also thought that perhaps they were old but just bought a bag yesterday and they were the same.. I shall not waste any more money on something to throw away. whatever they did it was wrong in the recipe. No more from me. and I too have just loved them for years.
Just bought 2 bags in 2018, absolutely horrible! Almost cracked my back tooth. Returned and will no longer purchase these. Anyone know of another company that makes these?
The soft summer coating on these makes them inedible. Bring back the hard maple shell, the new ones suck.
Man, these things are now terrible. I opened them at the nursing home as a treat for my mother and we both spit it out in our hand. The coating is soft and slimy and you simply can't bite down on the candy. Then I left them in an open bag in my office and walked in the next day and thought something awful must have happened. Nope, just the Maple Nut goodies. I am so mad. I rarely buy candy and this is always a treat for the two of us. Super disappointed and now I see so are all of you.
Last 6 bags I've purchased have been hard as bricks...WHAT IN THE WORLD? Last 5 bags my dad has purchased have been just as bad..If you don't fix it, you need to go out of business or give all of us our money back..Seriously, VERY disappointed...
I’m having same problem here in Georgia. Started maybe October last year. They are terrible and I am very disappointed because they have always been a favorite of mine. I’ve bought bags at different stores in different packages hoping like you guys that they were expired or bad batch. After months of hoping it would go back to normal—— nothing. Same thing. So I gave up. It’s been 2-3 months today since I bought my last bag so I decided to get a bag at dollar general because it seemed they just got a fresh batch in. I’m there almost daily. So I tear into the bag hoping for the best and it looked like the old Goodies the way they used to look. So I throw one in my mouth and there’s a change for the better but still missing the original recipe. I trying not to lose hope. Please go back to the old Goodies.
Wow! I thought it was just ME, but from the previous reviews, apparently it’s your new formula. Like the lady in the first review I read, I’ve been eating these for about 60 plus years. We bought a bag yesterday ( April 13, 2018) at Menard’s. I could hardly wait to rip that bag open & start chewing. Oh my God, they were so hard that I thought they must be old. I checked the expiration date and they’re supposed to be good until Oct. 9, 2018. I don’t know WHAT you’ve done to ruin these “GOODIES”, but STOP & go back to the originals. These have been my favorite candy for as long as I can remember, but I won’t be buying anymore.
Change is not always for the better!

Without a doubt, these maple Nut Goodies are the worse candy on the market. I am a 86 old great Grandma, have been eating them for a very long time. They are so hard they will chip your teeth. I will not be buying them again unless I find out you have gone back to your original recipe.
Why change something if it is for the worst? The only candy I eat and you have to mess it up. I will not be buying these any more. They where so good and now nothing but a lump of sugar and bits of nuts with imitation maple flavoring.
should be called maple nut gravel --no taste and harder than concrete
maple nut gravel with no taste
They used to almost melt in your mouth. Mom bought a bag the other day and nearly broke a tooth and was unable break through. Please, bring back the old recipe.
OMG! So glad I was not the only person thinking something was seriously wrong. These were always in my top 10 candies but no longer. The coating used to be the thin crisp maple M&M type candy coating. Sometimes the center was softer than others but I was always able to chew. Now the coating is like the caramel/maple ice cream coating and the toffee center is rock hard.
Please raise the price if need to go back to the old recipe I will be willing to pay. Unfortunately, Maple Nut Goodies have fallen below the disgusting Circus Peanuts.
