Brake repair
Catastrophic break failure! I took my 2017 Honda Odessy in to the Greenville, SC (Wade Hampton) for brake repair on Friday April 28th. What we didnt realize at the time was the mechanic failed to tighten the top caliper bolt on one of my front wheels. a Few months later, while driving 70 back from a vacation, the top caliper bolt fell off and the brake...

I was quoted one price when I got done following around an associate to see what was wrong with my car. Then when it came to time to pay because my car was done I was given a higher amount. I asked the worker how much all together with tax it was gone cost me and he said 499 but switched it up when time to pay. He then began to argue and be rude towards me. When I asked to talk to someone else because I was tired of the disrespect he then took an attitude. The workers here are liars and very unprofessional.
Car window motor.
This month I took my 2005 Nissan z to your store at 14440 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737 to have my driver side window fixed. I was told they had to replace the Motor for which I paid $600.00. 3 days later the window started sticking and dropping down. When I brought the car back in they told me that new motors are powerful, and it broke the switch which would cost another. $650.00 to fix. I am no repairman but i looks like the mechanic set the tension wrong breaking the switch. I am very angry; another repair shop wants to charge $1,200.00 to fix the switch. I ca't afford that. My point is now that I have already paid Brakes 4 Less 600. for a motor that does not work and that broke my switch!
Desired outcome: I would like my $600.00 back plus the new switch $1,200.00 needs to be paid for by Brakes for Less since they broke the switch!

Brake work.
Had both rear brakes and front rotors and pads replaced. Less than 8K miles later had a pulsation. Took car back to get checked out under warranty. After I picked it up Friday afternoon the pulsation was gone put it had a constant squeak coming from rear. After a few more days the car had a clunking noise from rear and the next day the right rear brake locked up. Took it to a shop near my home so I could walk home and also did not want to pay towing fee just to have manager tell me it was not anything they worked on. New shop told be that the caliper had fallen of . Looked like it wasn't tightened and lug nuts were crossed threaded. WOW! I'll be sure to tell everyone I know not to take there vehicles to Brakes 4 MORE!
Faulty brake repair
I have a 2016 Mercedes and on 01/29/22 I took my car into the Washington Road location to have my back brakes done for $293.38 The gentleman at that location advised me of the price and that I needed to have the front and back done. On 02/05/22I returned back to that location complaining that my car was making noises and that it wasn’t when I brought it in and on that day he he advised me that I needed front rotors and he placed an order those on 02/05/22 I returned on 02/19/22 for them to be installed but they broke my wheel lock key so I was sent to a local dealership to get a new. The dealership had to order a new key for me but they offered to take locks off so I could get my car fixed that day. The dealership informed me that my locks had been stripped and couldn’t be be removed unless they were drilled out. On or around 02/19/22 Brakes 4 Less paid the dealership for those repairs and my key. Meantime my car was still making noises and I returned back to the dealership 02/25/22 because of the noises and the dealership put on new back brakes and rotors, I picked up my car on 02/25/22. My family and I traveled to Alabama the next morning and my car still wasn’t right. I even went to Columbia 02/28/22 for my job and on my way back from Columbia to Augusta my service light came on and stated that my pads needed to serviced. I called the dealership and they instructed me to bring the car in. The dealership informed me my sensor was not plugged back up and it was just left hanging and that was what some causing some of the noise and then the technician said that my brakes were installed wrong. They had put the left pad on the right and the right pad on the left. We had been all out of town in the car. I transport my kids back and forth to school, I have my grandkids in the car. This was dangerous and it could have been very tragic. I put my trust in this company!
Desired outcome: I would like my at least to be reimbursed for some of these expenses for these repairs that I have done and still having to make. An apology would be nice.
Brakes
I drive a 2017 BMW X1. I took my car to brakes for Less in Columbia South Carolina on Garners Ferry Road on December 3rd the next week I noticed some squeaking with the brakes and call the office they asked me to come in but I never made the appointment to come in prior to the incident. On December 18th I was driving down the highway and my brakes gave out. I began to hear a loud noise and started to smell smoke. I decided to try to pull over and I had no brakes. Two police officers came to my Aid after smelling the smoke. My car was towed back to brakes for Less and remains there. I am very disappointed in the service that I received by brakes for less and the staff begin to make excuses as to what the problem was. They eventually admitted it was their fault and the next service would be no charge
Desired outcome: I would like my brakes to be checked thoroughly. I have been waiting for over a week to have my car returned and all I get when I call is the part has not come from BMW.
My brakes were not fixed even after being there for 2 full days
Went in with a brake problem but was able to pump brakes. Was there a full day and they needed to order a clip! Drove my car home and the brakes did not work at all! Went back to put the clip on and was there From 8am to 4:30pm. Was told they could not fix my car but my car was able to stop! Was charged 516 and some change. My brakes were worst and should have not been on the road! I don't think I should pay for a job that wasn't done!
Desired outcome: Get my money back
Breaks
Took my truck in for a break service about a year ago, Ive put less than 8k miles in over a year and half on the break job that was done. I had to take it back because one of the breaks were sticking. They replaced a hose and said it was fixed. over time, little over a year, the break began to stick again and took it back. I was told by the manager Carrie, that the fix they did on my truck they no longer do because its a band-aid. Because of the band-aid I now have to replace the rotor again. It is my opinion that the band-aid fix was knowing it would not work for along term. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I should have known better to visit there in the first place, because it's empty every time I go by. That's my fault, do yourself a favor and keep riding.
Brake service
I took my wife's car to get the brake done since I don't want to do it, so I paid close to $300.00 to get them to do it. A couple of days later, my wife it makes lots of noises, so I test drove the car, and sure enough, I thought the whole front axle was going to comes off. I had my suspicions looked through the rim and saw the grove on the inside of the rim. The brake was loose, there was only one bolt holding the brake in place, and it was flopping around, which causes the grove on the inside of the rim. So I took the car back and had them work on it; after around an hour and a half, I drove not even a quarter of a mile. The brake makes horrible noises, so I turned around so they can look at it, and after about half an hour, it was done. This is not the end of the story; about a month later, I drove the car to work and notice the noise once again, but this time it came from the back brake. Like the first time I had my suspicions, and I was right, the same grove on the rim, but this time I went and bought the new hardware and installed it myself. They obviously don't know or care about what they are doing. They need to be out of business, because what they are doing or not doing can kill someone.
Brake repair gone wrong
This is single handedly the most incompetent group of people working on cars! The only thing they do day in and day out are brakes, so you would think that they would be well informed and know everything there is to know about brakes. This is clearly not the case. I took my car there on 4/8 for brake pads and new front rotors. I paid $429 for this job. I left and when I got to my first red light, I noticed that my pedal was going all the way to the floor (which is an issue that was not an issue prior to arriving at Brakes 4 Less that morning). I went back and spoke to Dave, the manager. He said he would have his best tech look at it. His "best tech" told me that he drove the car and the pedal goes to the floor but it stops, so there is no issue...no joke he said that. I explained again that the pedal is going all the way to the floor. I was again told that the pedal going to the floor is NOT AN ISSUE! Luckily my father was there, and he explained to them that they must not have done something with a bleed screw which ended up messing up my master cylinder. I was told that they would replace the part on Monday free of charge. I left with plans to return Monday. As I left, I noticed 2 big greasy finger prints on the interior of my car. On Monday when I arrived, I was told by Dave that he didn't have time . I work full time, so I had taken time out of my workday to drop my car off and I had to arrange for someone to pick me up. I explained this to him and he basically told me oh well I can't do it today. He then told me he could just refund me my money. I agreed to that, and I honestly didn't want them doing anything further to my car anyway. He told me I would be receiving a check in the mail...which never came. I called the corporate office twice and was told someone would call me back, but they never did. I called the third time on Friday, 4/28 and spoke to Trent who says he is the regional manager. I explained everything that happened, and he assured me that he would refund my credit card on Saturday and agreed that the Asheville store is incompetent and they need to come here and address the issues because this was the 2nd complaint on that same store that day. He assured me he would call me Saturday once it was processed, but he never did. I called again today, Monday 5/1, and was informed by a Jessie that they were not refunding my money and the choices I had was to either let them replace the master cylinder for free or I could bring them back all their parts (pads, rotors, pistons, etc) and they would refund me. I don't know where they learned to run a business, but this is not the way at all! You are much better off to buy your parts and take it to an HONEST, COMPETENT, LOCAL mechanic and let him do your brakes. You won't save any money here because these ### don't have a clue what they are doing and you will spend more money and time trying to fix their screw up! The manager Dave will also sit and talk about you to the other customers instead of supervising the ### he has working under him. Total rip off and I plan to let everyone I know to not go there! They don't know what they are doing and they are a bunch of liars!
Bad service
I am not as pissed as I should be considering all the headache I have been through with Brakes 4 Less. I must say that their service recovery is outstanding and they do honor their warranty. In saying that I must also say that I got my brakes done back in March of 2009 and I have had to take my van back 6 times already. I paid for the most expensive job...
