I had a really bad experience with Bright Cellars. I wanted to order wine and cheese for an event I was hosting, so I placed my order three weeks in advance. I work in the mornings, so I had the wine shipped to my office, which doesn't open until 10am. However, the delivery company attempted to deliver the package at 9am twice, and then stopped attempting to ship it altogether. The last time they attempted to ship the wine, the truck showed up, but the wine was not delivered because "the wine was on the manifest but the package wasn't on the truck". They never tried to deliver it again.
Then, once the cheeses were shipped, I tracked it for three days, and when it finally arrived, I saw that they had delivered it and then sent it back to the sender! I have no idea why they did this, but it was incredibly frustrating. After I called customer service, they reshipped the cheese and wine, but the cheese showed up and the wine never did. I had to go out and buy wine from a store for my event!
When I asked for a refund for the wines, since I had been calling and things still couldn't be figured out, they told me there was a $25 nonrefundable fee. I paid $86, but I said, "Okay, just refund me the amount minus the $25." When the refund came through, I was only refunded half the amount. I called them days ago to see where the rest of my refund is, but I'm still waiting!

Bright Cellars Wine Subscription: Overpriced for What You Get
I was so stoked when I peeped this ad for Bright Cellars. I took the quick quiz and got some suggestions that were kinda sorta like what I'm into when it comes to wine.
The deal they're offering - four bottles for $60 plus shipping - is just okay. It works out to about $17 per bottle. The descriptions of the flavors were pretty spot on for the whites, but the reds were a little off. I was impressed by the points they gave the wines, but that's where things started to fall apart.
I wasn't buying that I could get a 95-point wine for $15. And I wasn't. Turns out their "points" are just based on your taste profile, not from any legit wine reviewers like Wine Spectator or Wine Enthusiast.
So I did some digging and found out that I could buy the same bottle for $12. So why would I pay an extra five bucks per bottle? I could easily find the same wines at any decent grocery store with a wine section.
If their search let me get more specific about my taste preferences (like "I hate oaky chardonnays" or "I love crisp whites"), I think it would be better. But right now, I can only say "no reds, please" and hope for the best.
Bottom line: it's overpriced for what you get. It's a good option for people who don't know much about wine and like subscription services, but if you know what you like, you're better off buying your own bottles.
Disappointing Experience with Bright Cellars Cheese Membership: Poor Quality and Customer Service
I decided to give Bright Cellars a try and signed up for their cheese membership at a discounted rate of 50%. Unfortunately, the cheeses I received were not up to my expectations. They lacked flavor and were quite tasteless. In fact, I ended up throwing them away after trying them. To make matters worse, the ice packs that came with the shipment were barely cold when they arrived. Given that it's summer and the temperature is around 110 degrees, this was a major disappointment for me.
I decided to contact their concierge service to cancel my membership and shared my complaints about the quality of the cheese and the poor packaging. I did this about a week or two after receiving my shipment. However, to my surprise, I received a notification that they had sent another shipment at full price. I immediately called them to let them know that I had already cancelled my membership. However, the customer service representative couldn't find my email in their system. I gave her another email to try, but that didn't work either. Finally, I remembered that I had used their link on the website, which was my default email. I gave her that email, but she still couldn't find it.
It was frustrating to hear that I had to keep this month's shipment because they had a 24-hour cancellation policy. I had cancelled my membership at least two weeks ago, so this policy didn't make sense to me. I felt like I was being forced to keep $60 worth of cheese that I didn't want in the first place. It was convenient for them, but not for me.
I am almost tempted to refuse the charge with my credit card company. If my cheeses arrive warm again since they are shipping over a weekend, I will definitely be refusing the charge and letting them know. Overall, my experience with Bright Cellars has been disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend their cheese membership to anyone.
not satisfied
I dealt with them once and want nothing from them anymore. Unfortunately, getting rid of them is much harder. As I said I once got their product, wasn't satisfied and decided that I don't need their service in my life. Canceled the subscription. At least I thought I did. In fact, they didn't stop sending me offers and things like this that extremely irritated me.
I spent over 2 months to stop this mess. Thanks to their clueless customer support. If they worked better, I think I would have resolved my issue much faster
Very disappointed
I'm very disappointed with Bright Cellars and will cancel my membership. These guys have the worst customer service ever! I was a loyal customer of Bright Cellars for six months now and really liked the wine, but my latest experience was terrible. I have ordered a bottle of wine and it arrived broken! Bottle was completely smashed! And of course the was no wine left in the bottle, just some drops on the bottom.
Contacted customer service and they refused to replace! They said that it was not their fault and that's all! They never helped me, they refused to refund my money!
I'm absolutely disgusted with Bright Cellars!
Bright Cellars made a mistake on my email address and sent wine to me without my confirmation. Wine received from a delivery truck and the driver said the back of the truck was over 100 degrees. Wine was refused. Bright Cellars was called and would only make a partial refund, even though sending the wine was their mistake. I believe they should confirm they have the correct email address before sending any wine and they should know not to deliver unrefrigerated wine to Southern Florida at the beginning of summer. Additionally, they should have known their emails to me were not delivered.
