Returned rental to Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Thursday, Nov 16,2023. It was a NIGHTMARE at the return center. Cars being returned so fast the employees could not get them checked in and return validated. Was instructed to park in a certain space & leave the vehicle. Employees were parking vehicles 4 deep & were overwhelmed. Since I have a disability, I needed to get to my departing terminal because I have to wait on wheelchair transport. Now I am receiving notification from that Budget Rental location claiming I did not turn in the rental & they are trying to charge 3 days rental to my credit card. I was traveling with another person & they are witness to the fact the rental was turned in at the airport location. Where it was left as instructed by the employee. This issue is causing me EXTREME mental distress and physical stress. Employees at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport did NOT do their job and dropped the ball implementing their proper protocol and procedures and now I am the one suffering for their insufficiency in the performing of their job duties. How many other customers are going through this same issue that were turning their cars in at the same time? How many other rental cars did the employees "Lose" or can't seem to locate? Has that specific vehicle not been rented out again since being turned in on Thursday? Does it not have GPS for locating it? Someone has dropped the ball and I am the one being accused of wrong doing.
Claimed loss: Being charged almost $400 in additional rental expenses.
Desired outcome: Straighten out the paperwork nightmare, verify the vehicle was turned in on time, retract the attempt at collecting additional rental fees and an APPOLOGY from Corporate for all the mental stress and aggravation.
