In January, 2021, I ordered a dog food supplement from a U.S. company. UPS sent me a bill for all delivery fees attached to this package. It was more than half the value of the package and included a fee for bringing an animal-based/meat product over the border even though the company included an affidavit stating that it was totally free of animal-based ingredients.
I sent them an email saying I was refusing delivery of the package and would like it sent back.
They began attempting to deliver the package anyway and sent me at least 4 "Delivery attempt" messages. I told them again I did not want the package. Then, around a month later, the package, which before they wouldn't deliver without a signature, was left at my door. There was NO FURTHER COMMUNICATION from them and I assumed they just couldn't bother returning it. It still sits at my house.
Forward to May 27 2021: out of the blue, I received a letter from a Collection Agency for the $64 "owing". I was utterly shocked. It looks almost like they set me up for this. More importantly, my impeccable credit rating will now have this incident on it, which is my main concern. I would like this matter resolved. I am furious that I now have to deal with this collection agency, tell them about UPS' antics, and try to get this expunged from my credit report. I am in the middle of dealing with a serious health matter regarding my sister and this is the last thing I needed. I would like UPS to contact the credit agency, tell them it was an error on their part, and deal with the issue!
The customer service and communication of this company is abysmal. You can't even leave a complaint on the website. You are given a small box with room for 500 characters. Obviously they don't want to hear any complaints, let alone resolve them.
Desired outcome: Collection agency told that this was an error and have it erased from my credit report with Transunion and Equifax.
