Fraud-Internet over charge- Rip Off
I want to complain about Cable & Wireless Seychelles, a British owned company, based in Seychelles.
We all know that years ago, the British will capture what country they can, build a colony and Rip the
country of it's resources. Now a different scenario is taking place. Cable & Wireless is nothing but a
firm that makes lots of fraud to Rip off consumers. The Seychelles Authority should look closely to the
Fraud that cable & wireless is committing. Lately I got an internet bill of more than SR 35, 000 (USD
2, 755) for an internet that I was paying only USD 47 per month. On receiving the bill I contacted C&W and
they informed me that I had over used the internet. I never over used, and to use from USD 47 to almost
6000% more is ridiculous as I used the net mostly to browse . I had informed to them that even if the bill
has come to such an extent why they prolonged it without informing the customer. If a customer extends
their limit, the only right thing to do is to cut the internet and allow the customer to re-upgrade for
more allowance rather than let the consumer see the huge bill on the day the bill is received. I felt
cable & Wireless is cheating me in broad day light, and a company like this should be kicked out of our
country. Cable & Wireless has received a lot of competition on telecom and I feel by making fraud into
their system is something they are doing to rip of consumers to gain what they have lost. Maybe bigger
companies, their account section will only raise a cheque without seeing closely their bill, but to what I
understand there are several people that has been over charged by cable & wireless and this Fraud company
is not accepting. When you approach them, they will pretend I'm the first customer to complain. So, I
encourage the Seychelles people to stand up and post the maximum complaint they can online to make their
voice heard, and if cable & Wireless will take you to court for non payment of their fraud bill I suggest
you stand up for your rights as I know there are several more witnesses in the same situation to rise up.

I now have two months charges amounting to 45000 R and I never ever used that amount
I have complained and they are investigating .Why are they not allowing unlimited
Broadband as in other counties and giving a competitive fixed price so that we can use the Internet to its full capability
I agree to the complaint. My internet bills of 500rs from cable & wireless seychelleshas come to 3000 rupees and i use internet only for small browsing & checking emails. i never do any downloading of softwares or movies. cable will say they have placed online metre to check usage, but every now & then to go to that metre to enter user name & password is head ache. they should implement a system that customer will receive a notification email automatically that their internet has reached or reaching their limit. Or they should have a package when your total limit has reached, they automaticaly disconnect you and you have to go pay again if you wish for that months for upgrade. But even if we request they dont listen. They don't want to make a limit system that when you reach your total usage allowed that automatically we are shut down, like this the consumer selecting this package can know & be aware. They don't do it so that they can benefit on the consumers. this is not very profesional and its like day light robbery. It's very bad. my internet i definetely not use more than 1000rs and its a shame they charge 3000 where my salary in a month is that much only. please someone advise how to prove that we are being cheated as their bill is not itemized. so they know they are like winners in court as all proof is with them only.
yes, it's true. We are very unhappy that cable& wireless Seychelles is over charging it's customers. All should join for legal actions against FRAUD at cable & wireless. If they need money to expend their new building in town, they should not hike the internet bills on to their consumers. It's very unfortunate that the Seychelles government are not adding strong measures on them to protect the consumers. This is the right place to make a petition, and post your maximum complaints in this forum.
