Caltex Complaint about staff abuse

Hello,

I am sorry but I strongly feel I have to say something.

I need to share with you something regarding the Caltex garage on Main Road Strand, Western Cape.

I don't know how else to get my message across.

On Tuesday 18th January 2022 in the afternoon 16h00, I stopped at the Caltex garage on Main Road Strand to go into the One Stop Shop. What other customers and I experienced was shocking.
I don't know the owner but I know that he has a handicapped son who is not a youngster and eats meals at the One-Stop daily. He is rude and sometimes stands in the doorway of the shop and doesn't let clients in and if you ask him to move he gets angry or has a bad attitude towards you.

On Tuesday I sat in the car while my son when into the shop to buy us something to drink when this handicapped person appeared to be leaving the shop to go home and one of the shop employees was helping him on his way. There were petrol attendants sitting inside the little office by the auto tellers and one outside.

The next minute this handicapped person threw his things on the ground and started swearing at the petrol attendant sitting outside using foul language and profanity. The attendant sat there and ignored him. Then this person walked up to the petrol attendant still cursing and swearing, he started hitting the attendant on the shoulder, his back and back of his head, at least 4 times. The attendant got up and walked away while the shop attendant that was initially helping the handicapped person shouted to someone else to go help there as the attendant walked away.

I lived in Strand years ago and that is why I know that the handicapped person is the owner's/manager's son. This is not the first time that he has been abusive with the staff and I have seen him be verbally abusive but never physical like on Tuesday.

There was a police van/vehicle parked outside the shop as they too are regular clients at the shop. Nothing was said or done and it seemed to be a big joke which included the lady employee from the shop telling the petrol attendant OOhhhh he's going to kill you, wait and see.

How is it that because someone is handicapped they are allowed to be verbally and physically abusive to employees? These guys laugh it off but does that make it ok? Should it be ok? I don't think it should be ok or a joke because I was horrified at this person's behaviour and the way he treats his father's staff.
The customer in the vehicle next to me actually shouted and said no man you can't do that which fell on deaf ears.

If this branch is owned or rented, be it a franchise or not, I think something should be done about this abuse and if necessary this handicapped person must be banned or forbidden from going there.

I am glad that my son was in the shop and didn't witness what I saw. someone has to stand up for these staff members because I think they don't do or say anything because they are scared of losing their jobs.

Someone needs to stand up or speak out for these people and I really hope you can do something about it.

Caltex Filthy service station

I went to the caltex on the m1 at maryborough. It stank and ive never seen such filthy amenities.. Caltex what are you doing … this isnt not your standard.. Usually you can know your stations are clean but this one is a disgusting feral pigsty..
Especially when we are all trying to be clean and covid safe … what a joke..
Someone should get the lical council out there.
Its a breeding ground for disease..
How could you even take a child to that toilet.
The midrors havent been cleaned in years and dont get me staryed on the fllors or the mould on the ceiling..

Caltex petrol prices

Caltex Middlemount

I just want to say how disgusting the petrol price for diesel at this service station is. $192.9 everyday everyweek.
Even when you mention this to persons who work there only say " not my problem"

how can caltex let them get away with this, there are ordinary people who live in the town of middlemount and suffer [censored] they are.

every other service station around which can be miles and pay the same delivery and transport costs are on average 20 to 30 c a litre cheaper.

this is the same service station and owner who named and shamed in parliamentary sitting as a price scrounger when country going through worst of covid pandemic nd would not drop prices [censored].

the same is happening again many people are isolating and reduced wages and these [censored] are still keeping the price up at the staggering price.

you need to talk to them and get them to lower prices its unfair and unaustralian. people out here still have mortgages, bills, families so if your any sort of a decent company i would be seriously ordering them to lower prices.

Desired outcome: just lower the prices in line with other service station in area.

Caltex Unprofessional customer service

I had live in this suburb mostly all my life like 30 years. I often go to Caltex petrol station before it used to be Mobil. The Caltex petrol station at south Plympton normally have excellent customer service but today was just awful, went to order two drinks and no eye contact from the lady... expect smirk on her face and got very confused because she was holding a extra drink when I am about to pay using my card. I explained that I didn't ask for that extra drink item. She didn't reply straight away. I ask again, than she said it is her drink. I remain calm and thought okay, well it is 34 degree. She properly thirsty. I decided to let it go. I made a nice comments back and said "well I agreed, it is hot weather, that good you are looking after yourself and having a drink". She just stood silent and just look away... I was dumbfounded by her attitude. I had spoken to all your staffs never had a problem till now. This one look new and hadn't been working long there too. I felt hurt wasn't the first time it happened by her too. She shouldn't be working there if she doesn't treat her customer with respect. Often I feel stood up or tricked or stood down by her. Normally I wouldn't care but still is a ongoing issue and she have brown eyes and long dark black hair and dark skin and have very rude personality

Caltex Covid masks

Why is Innisfail Caltex staff not wearing masks and why are they not insuring customers are wearing their masks?
Is mask wearing not mandatory? I understand some people have medical issues, not a problem there but surely not everyone going into that service station has medical issues.

Desired outcome: A response would be nice.

Caltex Service station

After putting diesel in my car I went inside to pay, didn't see anybody at the front desk. It was a lady in front of me waiting to for somebody to pay.
After waiting for minute but I realised a person was in the kitchen preparing food I said - in that friendly way hello, hello - and suddenly an employee that was behind me (I haven't realised there was and employee there).
Said what do you want in an angry way.
- I want that somebody to pay I said - The lady next to us was surprised as well about the reaction of this employee that got mad because I was looking for somebody.

The lady paid and left. Then it was my turn-this employee was staring at me in an angry way, therefore I asked him.
are you okay? he replied In an angry way-I don't know why you are calling somebody the kitchen if I'm here and started telling me all the things-I know that employee was inside the kitchen came out and took over and charge me.
Finally I left.

I don't think that any customer should be treated in an angry way.

Desired outcome: To speak with employee, if he’s cutting hard time what about day he should take a break.

Caltex No toilet facilities at Culcairn

The toilet facilities at the Caltex stand alone petrol stop has not had toilet facilities for the past 12 months. This does not meet customer and NSW public health expectations .
This place is a disgrace to the Caltex brand. I use Caltex every where I can, this is not what Caltex wants for there brand.
I have been told twice to travel down to the public toilets in Culcairn, this is not what I want when I have just traveled 5 hours from Ballarat.
I am not sure where your staff go to use a toilet? Maybe you should attend this site to audit the site.

Desired outcome: Toilets facilities available to meet NSW Health regulations.

Caltex Filling up of fuel

Requested R100 fuel.
Tank Guage never moved as no fuel was filled.
Requested till slip.
Time does not match and manager covered up and provided no assistance either by contacting the owner of the caltex fresh stop in umhlanga.
Not sure if I will reach home as the Guage is showing the tan is empy

Caltex Filth

On the 27th November l went to use to toilets at Ararat road house which is connected up to the Caltex petrol station. This was around about 7.30 am.
I was disgusted in when l went to use the ladies toilets to find 1 cubicle with toilet paper all over the floor.
The 2nd one sanitiser wrapped up in toilet paper on the floor.
The rubbish bin full over with used paper towels near the wash basin, what a great way of spreading COVID.
I went and complained and the lady just looked at me like l was on another planet as l thought l might had been.
Never had l seen filth like that before.
Please speak to your staff or do training on hygiene as this is very appalling to see this.

Caltex Poor customer service

We visited store last night and got the fuel and coffee staff was on phone non-stop and was being rude with his sign language and couldn't greet no smile absolutely poor customer service.

Caltex Misbehaviour by staff non service

I went to fill petrol at Caltex petrol station, Conder, ACT, Australia. I filled petrol on 28 Nov, 7:43 pm. Customer service representative misbehaved. She didn't entertain egift card, she didn't even try. I insisted to accept it, but she refused to process. I believe she doesn't know how to allow it. I lost 3% discount. I asked her to give me her name she refused. And didn't even service me properly. I said if egift card is not working you should atleast try, but she didn't try, nor was there any message at petrol station. Else I would have filled petrol at other caltex station. I lost $2 and time. Can you action against representative

Caltex Bad treatment

I am referring to the above matter.
This morning at about 7:10 I went to the Caltex Emfuleni Auto. Upon arrival there, I realised that some pumps were not operating. I was then directed to the pump that was operating. The petrol pump attendant who had finished servicing the car in front of me, was having a discussion with the driver. When I asked if he could help me because I was getting late, he told me that he was busy talking with the customer about the problem she was experiencing with her car. Then I asked him if he realized what his responsibilities were. He arrogantly told me that he was a mechanic and therefore I should not tell him about his job description.
I told him that he was employed to operate the pump and provide customer with quality service. He responded by saying that I can not tell him about his work. I then realized that my son was getting frustrated by his noise and being late for school, I told him that I was going to take steps. He further told me that I can anywhere to lay a complaint he doesn't care.
I was devastated, angry and frustrated by the kind of service I received there after many years of good relationship and trust I have received there.
Please help me. I am hurt and feel very undermined not given the respect I deserve.

Caltex Lack of service

On Sunday the 7th of November I went to put petrol in my car at approximately 7.45 at the Caltex Service Station at the corner of High st and Coburns Rd Melton.

Upon arrival there was nobody there at all in this kiosk and no sign anywhere to say anything. I ended up chatting to other driver's and we waited a good 5 minutes before the operater came back with a coffee in his hand. I informed him this was not good enough and he said he had no sign. I told him this isn't good enough and I would put a complaint through and all he said was I do not care do whatever you want.
Can someone please explain if this customer service is satisfactory from a service station attendant?

Caltex Payment method for diesel at unmanned site.

Yestrrday I put $78.01 diesel fuel at an unmanned sites and got a receipt from the machine. Why was I charged $100 from my mastercard and why is this so called 'normal practice' then sorted 7-9 business days later when I should be charged just the amount receipted. Surely this is very poor practice that I then have to check later with my bank that it has been recredited. There was no obvious alert to this pathetic system at the bowser. Surely you could just charge the amount purchased.

Caltex Unprofessional Behavior

To whom it may concern,

I am a provincial traffic officer and was trying to use the public toilet at Caltex, Old Paarl, Brackenfell. This is a public toilet where you pay R2 to use the toilet. When I put the R2 in the gate did not want to open.

I went into the shop and spoke to Mr. Gavin Rolfe who is the cashier and he was very arrogant and said that I use the toilet at own risk and he will not open the gate for me even though I paid nor will he refund me the R2.

He also advised that the service station is privately owned and therefore I can complain to Caltex but they do not need to adhere to any rules Caltex may have in place.

I asked to speak to the manager and was told he is busy. This is very unprofessional!

An employee of Caltex saw me deposit the money and the gate not wanting to open and Gavin Rolfe did not want to speak to him either to confirm that I have paid.

This is not about the money but about the terrible way Gavin Rolfe handled the situation.

As a Traffic officer who drives around the whole day we need to use public toilets so if Caltex wants to charge the public to use the facilities they need to make sure that it is in working order!

I am very disappointed in Caltex customer service and how the employees handle the situations.

I will not recommend this service station to anyone and will support another service station in the future!

Caltex Customer service

Hye I just writing this email for incident happened today that while I was filling my car my phone was switched off and put on car back.. The lady on counter (NAME:KHUSH) allowed me to fill the fuel and when I came inside, she said I was using phone while filling and used abusive language and gave racist remarks. Although I wasn't using phone. There staff totally don't know how to talk with customers. there behavior made my whole day worse and I was so much depressed that how can someone be so rude without your mistake. I will be grateful if caltex take action so it never happens again with anyone..

Caltex Happy Plus Card with Starcard

They used to accept my happy plus card while I use my starcard but suddenly yesterday when i visited the same gas station that I always visits they declined my happy plus card they said they no longer acceps happy plus card from starcard holder.

Caltex Fuel delivery

I attended bass Caltex in Victoria
I drove in with a quarter of a tank of gas
I filled my gas tank and it took 196 litres of gas and the tank is 200 litres
I have kept receipt and from what I understand it can't fill to that capacity and I had approximately 50 litres still in tank
I spoke to attendant and he said tank should only fill to 80%
This has happened twice now although only have receipt for once
This is quite a bit of money and I think the pump is out of calibration and would like to be remunerated to some extent as I am local to the store and should not have to pay an extra $50 dollars to fill my car

Caltex Caltex Kurri Kurri NSW

Hi on the 31st of August 2021 I fuelled my Mazda CX7 with unleaded 95 fuel at Kurri Kurri petrol station with $60 .38 worth of petrol fuel. Within 1.5 weeks after my car was close to empty but whilst driving it my car came to a stop and wouldny go again. We checked several things but eventually had to get it towed home. We called Lube Mobile mechanics they found quite a lot of water in my fuel and said they needed to take it to there workshop. They had to drain the fuel tank which didnt resolve the problem. Then needed to buy a new fuel pump which is very expensive besides not being able to drive my car for a week waiting on parts. The total cost of my repairs where $3000.00. I am wanting compensation for this .please contact me asap [protected] Louise Lochrin

Caltex Customer service

We attended Caltex, Hay NSW 22/09/2021 approximately 6am. My husband had the fuel card for our three vehicles. When he went to pay, the woman would not listen to him and he ended up paying 4 lots of fuel. She was rude! Our company was called to complain about him! Her excuse was that she had done a 12 hour shift. No excuse at all. No apology whatsoever for overcharging. In fact she was rude again the next day when my husband told her AGAIN. Disgusting attitude that I won't tolerate.

Desired outcome: Maybe make sure your staff aren't rude.
