thor freedom elite
We bought a 2017 Freedom Elite a FEW months ago. We had one that we purchased last year but discovered they had this one that was larger with much more space so, we traded. At the time of inspection with the CWR...He noticed that the privacy door in the master bedroom was broker and said we could go ahead and take it home that he would order a new one that day and get it fixed. We brought the RV home parked in in our yard until the weather was better so we could go camping. Never heard anymore about the door. WE called and was told it had not been ordered and that they would order it then.We were doing an inspection one evening and noticed that wires were hanging from underneath so, we contacted Camping World of Asheville and scheduled it in for warranty repair. I drove it there and the Service Manager, Rob Parks went over the camper with me. During his inspection he noticed several other items that were missed during the initial intake inspection of the RV and noted them to be repaired. I left the RV with them in hopes it would be done ASAP. WE did not hear back for several weeks so, we called and was told they were waiting on parts. This has been going on for OVER a month! Number one we feel we have been lied to numerous times and we WILL be contacting the BBB in our state and North Carolina. This is uncalled for! We WANT OUR CAMPER BACK fixed and in working order. Our opinion of CW is that they con the customer into buying then do not follow through on service and repair and push all of the blame onto Thor. If Thor is a bad company, then stop doing business with them. We are ready to call our bank and have the RV loan voided since WE have not even spent one night in it!

warranty repairs bossier city, la
I purchased 2016 spartan toy hauler brand new from Bossier City location. First weekend out last year had multiple problems with it returned it to dealer with an entire list of items - in dealership for over a month - asked if we could get our rv back for a weekend event as they still were not finished with the warranty repairs. Returned it the following Tuesday to be kept by dealer almost another month to finally complete repairs. Some repairs on the lighting were still not fixed correctly ended up fixing them ourselves. Scheduled appointment for warranty work - dropped off on scheduled morning not even looked at for 3 days. Service adviser said it would be manufacturer warranty still under 1 year old - slide out gear of some sort. Not even submitted to Spartan until 16-17 days after scheduled appointment - now apparently Spartan wants more pictures before they will approve work. I also purchased a full 8 year extended warranty at the time of purchase, but apparently no parts can be ordered until it has been approved. Your service department knows it is covered by one of the two warranties I have in place. Needless to say we requested when we scheduled the appointment a return date of 21 or 22 days later. You would think over 3 weeks for one motor would be plenty of time to get it fixed. Apparently a month or more is there average repair time. At this rate they should have made 3 of the monthly payments for the 3 months I have not had use of my rv.
2016 new big horn 5th wheel
The love seat had a hole in it from something protruding from inside. Stripe on left side had mark the size of a quarter, there is a screw in slide which marked the vinyl when the slide was opened after we got back from dealership. Kitchen faucet runs slow. Staples sticking out of speaker. We told them them about the stripe and they said they would replace it before we bought the coach. We noticed the hole in the loveseat before we left the dealership. We also told them about the faucet and the same ### we told about everything else with the long gray beard at Panama City said to just use the sprayer to do dishes. We asked them to take pictures of the items and he said they didn't need to that we could just send pictures. We are living in the camper 4 hours away and now they are telling us we have to bring it back so they can look at it. Are you really that ignorant? 8 hours to show you something you saw and were aware of before we ever hooked on. We bought the coach Feb 9 and we were told we could take delivery on Feb 14. The coach wasn't ready on the 14th so we left and stayed in a hotel. We came back the next day and they said it was ready. It was not ready. We left the dealership on Feb 16 at 1:30, and when we went to hook up the slides wouldn't go in. We weren't surprised with the ### service we had seen. The fan light didn't work. The light above the couch didn't work. So much for your dealer prep, there were no bulbs in them. The toilet seats were all crooked, the master bathroom door would have never hooked in this lifetime as the strike plate was at least a quarter inch off. The water wouldn't run down the bathroom sink. We told the gray beard ### and he came back in the coach and said the crew didn't feel comfortable with us in the coach while they worked on these issues. Well we didn't feel comfortable with them in the coach with all our personal items in it either, but we left for an hour and a half. When we got back to the coach, only one toilet seat was straight and the bathroom door issue was corrected. There was nothing done with the sink. Both scare lights didn't work because both bulbs were burned out. I had to climb the ladder and run to Napa to buy two new bulbs on a brand new unit. They are nothing but liars. I didn't trust you after all this, and I called the DMV to check on the title and license status on March 8 and they also said you never sent that in. I pitched the coach Feb 8, which is 1 day less than a month. Why am I not shocked. You are a horrible, rotten, crooked no GOOD COMPany. My husband is a disabled vet and this is how you treat your customers. I can guarantee I will spread the word about camping world. I will do my best to make certain people know what kind of business you run. It will catch up to you. I have talked to at least 8 different people in this Campground alone who purchased a unit from you and have all had issues and have said they will never deal with Camping world again. Great advertising. This has been very upsetting for myself and my husband and with his health problems, he doesn't need this. We purchased a new coach and we expect these issues to be resolved. You sold the junk, so send someone here to deal with the issues you were aware of. I can guarantee that if my husband has a heart attack or a stroke over this, I will OWN your company. Shame on you! I also used to buy camping world trinkets. I wouldn't spend a penny for anything from camping world. I will continue to spread the word and after going out and looking at all the negative comments, I am not alone. Your dirty crooked business dealings will catch up to you, and I will do everything I can to help .
bait & switch/ and no one wants to own it
On Saturday January 21st, my wife and I attended the Camping & RV Show at the Galleria in Marietta Georgia. We browsed over 100 different campers and companies.
We ended up coming to the same conclusion we did about a year ago, the Jayco bunkhouse was best for our family. We begin the purchase discussions with Gary, the sales rep with Camping World. We told him we wanted a different trim color, we negotiated the sales price, approved a lender through Camping World's partnership and told him we wanted to think about it overnight to make sure we were making the best decision. On Sunday January 22nd the sales manager from the show called me and asked me what it would take to make a deal today.
We discussed it and agreed upon it. I drove the hour long drive back to the show and began to sign papers. Upon signing, I saw the VIN number was the same one as the demo at the show. I asked about it and they said they made a mistake and he went to correct it.
When he came back he said they did not have the trim we wanted so this is was the next best thing. My wife was not happy as this seemed to be a bait and switch tactic. We discussed it with the sales rep and he apologized but that he couldn't do anything to get the camper we were promised with the features we were promised. We eventually ended up agreeing to the demo camper that had all the features except the trim we wanted.
He promised the stains in the floor would be taken care of, the trim on the front storage compartment would be fixed, and we could pick it up from Woodstock. On Monday January 23rd I received the call from the delivery team and they told me I would have to drive 2 hours to Oakwood Georgia to pick up my unit. I was furious but had no other choice. They told me they would have it cleaned and ready to go but that I needed to plan on an hour and a half so that they could go over the unit with me.
When I arrived, the delivery specialist was not available so they put me with a tech named Tom. Tom was the best thing of this whole experience. He was nice friendly and very knowledgeable. He did everything he could do to make the process smooth and I learned as much as I could from him.
The unit was not washed, the stains and trim had not been taken care of, the remote did not work fully because of a burned out fuse, the TV remote did not work, the outdoor kitchen door did not shut right and the lock was broken. While I waited for him to attach the anit-sway hitch to my truck we bought over $150 of accessories. When the truck was brought around by another driver, the sway bar hitch broke and dented the front tow frame of the camper. We had to have pieces of the hitch replaced.
We were at Camping World for 7 hours and we still do not have a camper in a condition that we were promised. Now we have to go back when the parts get in, all the way back to Oakwood and have the carpet cleaned or replaced and the outdoor kitchen replaced which will be several weeks to months from what I am told. Since the first week, I have taken my trailer to a different camping world only 40 minutes away. That was on February 11th.
At that point I was told that it was going to be several weeks or up to a month before they would even look at the trailer. We have now had to cancel 2 camping trips (one with several other people and one with our family). I got an update from the service manager last week and he said he was still waiting on warranty items to come in so they still don't have plans to start working on the trailer. So I was sold a unit with a certain trim then told it wasn't available and then settled for a different unit based on an understanding that it would be in perfect condition.
The promise that the unit would be perfect at delivery yet nothing was done to make it close to perfect. Then had to drive 2 hours (almost into another state) away from my home instead of picking it up from the dealership closer to my house like I was told. I have purchased a camper that is not at new quality, not the unit we wanted and hasn't even been in my driveway yet. I have sent emails to people at dealership and at corporate with no resolution.
The sales Manager at Oakwood dealership told me I "Got an awesome deal and maybe it was too good because they couldn't follow through with it"?Really?
The only person I have heard from Corp was a customer satisfaction call to do a survey. Once I told them, they got a supervisor named Jason Shipley who has seemed to try to help by requesting the Regional VP Joe Cline to call me. The VP still has not called me in 2 weeks.
finance department
I bought my first MH from them in February 2017. I was pretty excited and really looking forward to everything about RVing. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. They revealed after the sale price was agreed upon that I couldn't get it unless I financed. That was the first red flag. In hindsight I should have walked away.
I asked repeatedly and was told that there was no prepayment penalty. Surprise! They lied. So at the last minute I either took a higher interest contract with a different lender or took the lower rate and pay the penalty. We traveled from out of state to GA and after being there for 7 hours and a lot of high pressure I also bought the extended warranties. Then read the overwhelmingly negative reviews of GS warranties which mostly centered around claim denials and decided to cancel and go with a competitor who had mostly positive reviews.
I made repeated requests to cancel the warranties and never received confirmation of cancellation but they harassed me with every reply trying to convince me to keep the policies. I had no choice but to dispute the charge with credit card company. Thank goodness I had used a credit card because if I had not, I would still be fighting with them to cancel the policies. Which we were told repeatedly are cancellable at any time. This may be true but good luck actually cancelling. They also tried to claim after the fact that the tire warranty was now non cancellable.
We bought a lot of stuff from the store. Got to campground and discovered they had not given us several items. Had to run back to the store which was over an hour round trip to discover that some of the items were now out of stock. On top of all of this they had not put a temporary tag on the MH! They wanted us to run out to them again but we asked that they bring it out to the campground.
They really should be ashamed of themselves but the customer doesn't matter to them. Making and apparently holding on to the sale is whats important to them. They have certainly left us with the impression that they make $money$ on the financing and sale of warranties on top of the RV. I bought a better warranty for less with Wholesale Warranties.
We do love RVing but the buying experience could have and should have been more positive. I am grateful though that I won't have to deal with them again.
Buyer Beware!
sales and service
Worse buying experience ever.
Arrived at 12:00pm, decision was made to purchase a camper and numbers agreed upon by 1:00pm. Did not leave the store until after 7:00pm.
Apparently there was only one finance person working. After we agreed to 'the deal' which I initialed stating that my payment was not to exceed a certain amount and I needed a hitch thrown in the deal because my truck didn't have one (we drove over an 1.5hrs to get to your store) we were told no problem, just needed to wait for the finance person to go over the paperwork.
Finally at around 4:30-5:00 I was called in to go over the loan details to find out that the payment exceeded what was agreed to. Miraculously the interest rate was dropped by a point and a few hundred dollars was shaved off to get to the number. This took another 30 minutes.
This is my first travel trailer, I didn't know that I needed insurance until around 5:45. Ok, but why wasn't this a part of the sales discussion knowing that I had a budget. Was told I couldn't leave with the trailer without it so we did this over the phone. (this was not pleasant since they charged an additional $6 on the first payment because I didn't have my checkbook with me - Good Sam Insurance)
By the time I got the insurance, the store and service shop had closed and nearly everyone had left. So it's a little after 6:00 and I asked if they put the hitch on my truck. Nope! They bagged it up with the $500 worth of accessories my wife had bought and it was in back seat of my truck! The salesman indicated that did not want me to leave with the camper because the hitch ball needed to put on with an air wrench. Of course I was extremely unhappy at this point since it is now dark and I have 1.5 hour drive home and have never pulled a travel trailer before. A gentlemen showed up who turns out to be the GM. He offered to open the garage and help us mount the ball onto the hitch.
All was going well, he found a breaker bar and appropriate socket and torqued up the ball hitch. Now everyone has left including our sales guy and we are now completely alone, I take the hitch and get onto my truck, backing up to the trailer was a nightmare because my wife is not good at giving these instructions on how to align. Finally get there, start dropping the trailer onto the ball and realized the tongue was not dropping onto the ball. At this point the GM was pulling out of the parking lot and pulls up giving help with his headlights. He inspects what’s going on and sure enough, they gave us the wrong sized ball. He was nice enough to go back and unlock the store and get the correct ball and then reopened the garage to install.
To top it off, we bought a $200 grill and an adapter hose ($45) to use the quick connect on the outside of the camper (picked out by the sales associate). This adapter will not work with this grill. In fact it’s a Coleman and it turns out there is not a commercial adapter made but instead you must modify the grill in order to use the quick connect. Your sales associates should know this rather than just help you throw this stuff into a shopping cart.
A day that started out be exciting for my wife and I ended up being one of the miserable days we’ve spent together.
repair
We brought our 5th wheel in to have a door repaired in October 2016. As of this date 3/4/17 we still do not have our vehicle
They did not order the parts till December, which we were never informed about. Then Alex Arias our Service provider gave us 1 excuse after another. He also never called us, we always had to iniate the call. When Alex said he would call us he never did. The latest hold up was the decals. It took over 2 months do get those corrected. Yesterday we called again and we were told the 5th wheel was ready
We get there and was told no it's not and Alex tried to call us, which is a lie since we have no calls from him today. We also saw 4 things wrong with our Vehicle which weren't broken prior to being brought in
I am beyond disgusted with your company's service and with our service advisor who out and out lied to us.
service department
03/01/2017 Customer work order #25521. Had a blowout's tire, took to camping world, couldn't go anywhere else because the 2nd tire was leaking from a nail. So held captive. Pricing for labor was $130/hour (other places I called do it for $15 per tire), they used 2 hours to do 4 tire replacements. ($260.00 to mount 4 tires =$65.00 per tire). We were told by the service writer that this included dismount, mount, and balance of all 4 tires. When we inspected the trailer with the service manager, we asked if the tires were balanced, and he said no, even though we paid $65/ tire to have this done (ridiculous!). Camping world added $100 for 'shop charges' and $17 for high temperature grease. Way over priced.
We were told it was ready to pick up with the bearings replaced and packed, the brake and battery inspected, asked for the % of brake left. They were supposed to mount the spare and save another tire from it for another spare. They were to put on the fender flare that we provided. The bill for all that was $1500.00 plus! The paper work was not completed despite being told it was ready before we went over to get it.
We paid and then saw the trailer. The spare was not mounted, , a valve cap was not on one tire. The fender flare was very loose, would have come off. For $130 labor/hour, I guess they should have had time to fix it properly. So because of these things, we wonder if the other work was even done and if done competently. The paper work did not say the brake percent, had to ask the service person who went to talk to the mechanic, who could say whatever he wanted to.. was it really right? So they found the spare, but could not find the trailer key. We left to have the work completed (correctly). We were called back about an hour later, went back (our gas money) to get it. Talked to the service person and the shop foreman. They nodded in acceptance of our complaints, but we have zero confidence that anything will be done.
Poor customer service, shoddy work, not completed. Long wait times to talk to someone, even phone calls always go to voice mail, and hours before a call back.
I don't want resolution, because we will never go back there. We have 5 grown children in the area, and 6 of our own elder siblings, all who might sometime buy a camper or need service. None of them will come to camping world (alias Freedom Roads -but that is not on display anywhere). We are going to trade in for a motor home some time in the next 2-3 years, but will NOT go to camping world for that.
All I want is for you to know so you can fix customer service and competency in the service dept.
waiting on call for parts, repairs and spray on outside and inside
We bought a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk on 8/25/2016 from Camping World of Woodstock. They showed us a model of this unit but said they had one in Gainesville, Ga with the interior color we wanted .We drew up the paperwork and went back 3 days later to pick up the unit . Upon inspecting the unit, we had already purchased, the camera on the driver side needed to be replaced, bottom bed liner was ripped, and there was a tear in the arm of couch. We were told all these would be replaced and repaired We also paid for the paint and interior spray protection in which they said would be scheduled when we brought it back. We have tried calling and leaving emails to no avail. It has been 6 months and we would like to get at least the spray before spring and also the above fixed. Please let me know what other steps I can take to get something accomplished. Thanks, Cathy Carlisle
warranty work service & product complaint
We took our Heartland Roadwarrior 427 into Camping World in Lubbock, TX for some warranty work - there were a lot of small issues so we thought we would go through warranty to have them fixed. Camping World had our trailer for 3 weeks! We are living in the trailer because we are traveling with my husband and his job - they knew we were living in the trailer and still took these minor repairs to get done 3 weeks! I know they had to go through the Heartland warranty and that takes time but very frustrating! Camping World fixed our leaks on our trailer (so far). They called and told us the auto leveling system isn't covered in our warranty and it was going to cost $70 in labor (30 min to calibrate it) so we agreed to that. When we picked up the trailer, our battery was completely dead! We couldn't even raise our jacks- they had to come charge our battery to get the jacks up. Then they told us our trailer would charge while we drove & we had bought some simple green & ice to put down our tanks to clean them while we drove- our battery was SO dead we couldn't even put our slides out to get to our tanks! We even stopped a couple of times in our 5 hour drive and nothing! Our battery hadn't charged one bit! When we got back to our campground, the auto leveling system wasn't working at all! My husband had to manually level it. We called Camping World and they basically told us we could bring it back in! Are you kidding me? They just had it for 3 weeks! And didn't even fix the part we had to pay money for - and do you think they will refund us our $70... no! They said we can call and a mechanic can walk us through it but then when we called - they say bring it in.. ugh! Very frustrating! They said the service manager would call us and they haven't gotten back to us! Not to mention we had to pay $160 for winterizing the trailer while they had it! My husband (being as awesome as he is) figured out while Camping World had our trailer they had blown our 40 amp fuses! That's why nothing was working! So we had to go buy more fuses, my husband had to go to two different stores to get them - they were about $10 but it's the point of it all... we shouldn't have had all these issues! We also trusted them to install a reverse osmosis system while they had our trailer and we ordered a soft water system. They told us the reverse osmosis & soft water system would cover any amount of hard water & bacteria in the water - which we are learning is NOT true! The soft water system is ok (other than being charged twice for it and having to call them for a refund) but we paid almost $400 extra dollars for a reverse osmosis which we are not able to drink the water! We spent so much money at Camping World with no real success other than our minor water leaks being fixed!
took my 2016 Jayco Eagle in for warranty work, just small issues like crank handles that fell off the bathroom fan and the attenna as well as a dented speaker cover and a bad water pump. Well 3 months later and it is still not done. I cannot believe the poor service. I even had to cancel our Florida trip now since it is still not done. very disappointed in Indiana.
2016 jayco white hawk
Purchase new 2016 Jayco White Hawk in June 2016, from Camping World in Golden Colorado store. Some Items were NOT functional at the time of purchase (jack, speaker, window, etc.). All items documented at the time of sale as broken and needing replacement in an "I Owe You" list. I have brought the trailer in twice, and both times, the repairs have NOT been completed. It is now February 2017, and I have NO RESULTS. Dudley, the service manager, has been extremely rude, has not kept his commitments, has lied to me, and been verbally abusive to me, and mostly...has not fixed the trailer. 9 months later now! Donnie, the general manager of the store, has also committed to calling me back, and has not done so. I will NEVER buy another camper from this place again! At least not until the entire management staff is fired and replaced!
employment ny camping world
I hope that this reaches someone who understands business... I worke for this company for two years and yes i was terminated, but this is the most unorganized company i have ever been involved with from the GM to the Vp's. I hope that training will be a big improvement since this company has gone public because there is none. From my expierence they have no problem writing off millions of dollars in the service dept. Ive seen it with my eyes. No problem you can improve on that. The sales dept. Is the baby they make the money while the retail side i saw 150, 000$ in shrink i. Two years. I saw that the entire system is flawed. I saw vips once in a year after put into a position never done before in my life with NO training and as long as you push Good Sam, PPP, visas roadside your ok... I had a VIP if you lost thousands lof dollars it didnt matter what a way to lead... I just think that this whole operation is. Completely ran wrong from the top yo the bottom... I had the GM ask me too bribe a employee not to call corporate so he didnt get a complaint... Great leadership. I have never seen this before and it was a disturbing expierience...i plan to keep talking this...

sales
Went to Thompson RV on 1/14 to purchase a camper. Was informed that they were in the process of selling the business to Camping World. I was assured it was a good thing and while I needed make the down payment that day I needed to wait until 1/24 at 1030 to sign the paperwork. I was called on 1/23 at 1000am that they might not be able to get the paperwork ready. Finally at 330pm they called and said that they couldn't get the paperwork. There was no apology or trying to make up for THEIR screw up. They are the ones that gave the date for pickup. I just picked the time. My wife has to give at least 1wk notice for time off and working for the railroad I rarely know when I'll be home. Called the compliant line assured I'd get a call back trying to resolve this issue the very next day. Of course they did not call or email me.
wolfgang puck oven
I bought a wolfgang puck oven from camping world last year. It stopped working! The manufacture told me that camping world was not an authorized dealer and because I purchased this from them, I could not use my warrantee! Camping world refused to help me, offered a 25 gift card, then never responded after that! They are selling products that are not warranteed! Do not buy! They are not authorized dealers.
2016 keystone cougar fifth wheel
Bought the camper in July 2015..the sales experience was great! The problem is with the service dept. the calls to the service dept started in March 2016 when we were having problems with our air conditioner and radio..we had also noticed streaks all across the ceiling from front to back shortly after the camper was delivered. We were also ready to get the warranty work done on it..After attempts to get things set up with Rick Gutherie the service manager we began handling things thru Casey Sullivan the asst service manager. Its easier to get in touch with a Dr than getting Rick Gutherie to return a call or at least an email.Casey sent a tech to our camper twice and picked the camper up twice to go back to Camping World Chattanooga..The air conditioner had to be replaced as well as the radio and front door latch..Nothing was done about the ceiling with the first two trips to the camper by the tech or the first trip back to Camping World..the second time the camper was taken for 3 days to replace the ceiling panels as we were told.when we get the camper back it looked worse than before.they said they washed the ceiling and had replaced nothing but of course we weren't told until we asked.I emailed Casey the morning after we got the camper back from them.she said she was going on vacation and would call me when she returned to work.its been 3 months now! My husband talked to Rick Gutherie and he said he would talk to Keystone and get back with him.its been 3 months! I sent an email to Casey about 2 months ago and ask for our spare key back that was sent to Camping World with the camper.she never got back to me so I text Bill.Bill was the driver that picked up our camper.he called and said he told Casey and Casey didn't want to talk about our camper me or the missing key! So that's where we r now.spare key gone, air conditioner still turning off and on when it reaches the set temp, streaks all over the ceiling and we haven't been able to level the camper since the first trip to Camping World.Rick Gutherie and Casey Sullivan won't talk to us or even email us! This is the second camper we have bought from Camping World of Chattanooga..if we can't get these things fixed we will never buy from yall again!
collision repair service department
On June 17, 2016, I brought my 2008 Damon Essence to the Camping World in New Braunfels, Texas for collision repairs after the front passenger side tire blew out causing damages to the body, generator exhaust pipes, electrical wiring, and headlight. State Farm accepted the repair claims and covered them. Camping World promised me that my motor coach would be ready in three to four months but many month excuses for delaying the repairs due to the lack of parts. Last month I brought my insurance agent with me to look over and my agent said he did not believe whole story of many excuses. My motor coach is still in the collision center today (January 5, 2017) and still not ready. I am patience with your manager William (Bill) Heinrich and collision manager Steven Schneider. In 6 months, I keep paying for loan, insurance premium, and extended service warranty premium while I cannot ride in my motor coach. Thor Motor Coach merged with Damon Motor Coach in 2010 and Thor sent me the letter that it will provide the service and parts to all Damon motor coaches in what they need in any authorized dealers including Camping World. Please help. John Moehring
warranty work
Bought a 2017 Thor Elite class C the end of November. We were instructed to drive it and submit a list of concerns. We did such and returned the unit on Dec. 9, 2016 for warranty work. it is now Jan. 2, 2017 and have had nothing but a run around. 4 calls to service advisor Mike Miller of Fairfield Camping World have gone unreturned. Informed the salesman, Joe Finch, that I would be seeking a attorney for a lemon law case. He didn't seem concerned. Wish I had reviewed this site before buying this trailer. Don Helton [protected].
2016 keystone carbon toyhailer
I am giving 2 stars for 1 Woodstock shipped our 2016 Keystone Carbon 5th wheel toy hauler from Florida because it was the floor plan we preferred 2 we got a descent trade value on our trade in.
During our walk through my husband noticed the roof looked like it was coming unglued. The tech said that is how the roof is made it will not give use any problems. He did notated the roof issue. The awning was also leaking, they fix the awning (or so we thought). After we got the camper home I was cleaning it, detail cleaning I noticed light coming through the front corner of the garage, my husband noticed the slide was not installed correctly and the awning was still leaking. We returned the camper for repair. The slide and garige wher fixed properly, the awning still leaks. After our first trip we noticed the screen in the garage was halfway put in, this caused the screen to rip at the bottom. They only bolted one side of the L brackets on the screen frame. When my husband went out West this summer the roof started leaking, he thought maybe something damaged it. He repaired the roof when he r#####ed. We had the camper for one year during the trip. After our trip in the fall we seen the roof is being cut buy the air conditioner in the same place, do this mean our roof is coming unglued in the front and blowing up on the AC unit. Keystone warranty only cover the material of the roof not installer error. Keystone did say if we get the notation from Camping World they will replace the roof... Camping World can not find the notes from the sale. After the fall trip when my husband was coming off the floor he noticed the latter is separating from the camper at the top, now out of warranty we have a latter that we can not use. Some of the screws are only in the side, did not make contact with the studs. I love our camper it would be the perfect camper for my family if it did not have all these issues. We now have to pay $4, 000.00 for a new roof on a camper that is less then 2 years old.
rv on consignment
We were approached on facebook by a sales person of camping world of Mac on because he saw our ad about selling our brand new 2017 rv. He said we pay nothing, we agree on selling price, they do the rest. We brought it in, sat around a public table, constant employee and customers traffic, we told them we wanted 20, 000 firm, it was a month old, we bought extras, and we purchased for almost 22, 000. They shoved papers in front of us to what they said was a similar rv, with figures of 17, to 19, we dropped to 19, come to find out later this rv they showed us was a 2016 less all the features it came with. It took 10 days to list, the 5 pictures were awful and there was a lot of false information on it, they actually have it down as having and am/gmail CASSETTE plater, um hello, really? They need to find new advertiser, then we find out they put the selling price of 24, 995, after telling us we are not gonna come close to getting 20, 000 for it. We wanted them to change, no response, we wanted to pick up our rv but then noticed in the print of contract that we have to pay 499.00 for advertising, not for false advertising, I wont, I put in a complaint with BBB, been a week and nothing and Ingo is still the same on ad site, I am one day away from going to the news, I here ABC the fixer does wonders, they want this kind of publicity, fine, ...untrustworthy and greedy and absolutely no communication at all, they have no idea of what good customers service is
The something happened to me regarding false advertising. They have been horrific to me. I'm in the middle of this battle . What happened to you. Did you get it resolved. I'm good to go on camera.
We bought a fifth wheel from campers world of Uxbridge Ma had an issue and called 5 of their dealers while on the road, 4 did not return our call and one said they could not help us with an appointment and they were weeks out. The location were we bought it installed the 5 wheel incorrectly and did not adjust the setting on the camper correctly so we only had 4 inches space above our rails instead of the 8 we have now. As a result we blew out our back window and dented the back of the truck. they didn't want to hear about the $2500 it cost to fix it. I could go on and on. It is not a place to buy anything is you want service or satisfaction.
I consigned my 2013 park model Keystone Hideout to Camping World Kingston. It was in near perfect condition...minor wear and tear...all the bells and whistles...someone looking to buy it when I was selling it snapped the cabinet door. I was selling for $18, 000. Camping World settled with me for me to get $14, 650...they said I'd never get $18, 000. They advertised it for $19, 995. Within the first 90 days I was told I had to replace the roof (I had no leaks, no problems), the awning motor (there was no problem with the awning when I turned it over to them), the back door hinge (no problem with the door when I had it) and of course the cabinet door. I had my homeowners insurance go over the trailer and they said Camping World wanted to put a whole new 5 year roof on it, that they had removed the awning cap and wires were exposed causing the awning problem. The cabinet door was still broke and there was no problem with the back door. I refused to pay for a new roof...only to reseal the roof.
I should note that the reason I was selling is because my husband had suddenly passed away and I couldn't afford, nor wanted to keep, our seasonal site.
90 days...not sold. 60 more days and it disappears off the website. It sold. But not for what they wanted and being that I needed the money I settled for $11, 900 and they paid for the "repairs" . I was told to sign and fed-ex the title overnight on March 26. I did...and now April 20th I still await my money. Nobody can tell me why I don't have it other than "problems with their computer system". The consignment guy does nothing more than say he'll "email corporate". First he said I'd have the money by the 13th, then it was 10-14 days AFTER they turned over the trailer to the new owners on the 31st, then the computer glitch, then 14 BUSINESS days...today he informed me today was only the 14th business day (it's the 15th day, actually), there still isn't a issue day, AND he hung up on me. I've called two different customer service numbers, including corporate, and nobody returns my calls or gives any information to me. I would never recommend this company.
