Worse service ever
I did major service at the branch at ormonde on the 1 February 2024.My car is now giving me problems,It showing the sign Epc, the car is jerking, losing power, I went to the petrol garage to check my oil only to find out the is dark and dirty like the car was not service st all. Took the car back to be checked on the 14 March 2024 again. Please not I am working at home and I hardly drive the everyday.
Now They want to me pay for a return job. Worse service ever and I am disappointed. I regret taking my car to car service

Wheelnut broke off - I reported it when i came back from leave and i was told that nothing can be done as it is too long ago since the service. I explained that the only reason i reported it now is as we just came back from leave. I only discovered the wheelnut being missing on xmas day so not sure when it fell off. It could only have happened during the service as they were the only one's that worked on my vehicle. Wheel nut can't just fall out without anybody doing anything.
Final feedback from them is that they can't do anything about it so i have to repair it myself.
Will write it off as a very bad customer service experience.

With belief and knowledge of the brand and its centres as I had used for my other vehicles in the Gauteng Randburg area, I drove my well functioning Mercedes Benz into a car service city centre in Port Elizabeth, North end on the 26th of July 2023 for a booked minor service and repairs. On arrival at the centre that day little did I know that the noise emanating from a disgruntled customer who was frantically complaining about the poor service he had received on his car I should have taken as a warning that I should rather leave and take my car elsewhere.
However, given my knowledge of the brand car service city, I felt confident in leaving the car for the minor service which then after assessment went on to include the calipher and the brakes which I knew indeed needed serious attention.
On fetching the car the same day all seemed fine.
However my joy was cut very short as on the 28th of July 2023 the car started rattling and shaking terribly whilst I was driving. I then immediately reported the issue via email and advised the centre that I would be bringing in the car on Monday the 1st of August 2023.
Indeed still confident that the matter would be resolved given my belief and understanding of the brand, I brought the car in and after an assessment was told that the very disturbing rattling and shaking that now characterises the car is because the car needs four spark plugs .
It then became clear that when I initially brought in the car, the centre on assessing the car missed noting the issue of the spark plugs. Instead on the 1st of August 2023 I was now told to pay out a further R1,890 and some odd for the spark plugs and was even sent a picture of the replaced spark plug .
After I told the store I would not be able to pay anything extra , the store graciously fixed the one ruptured plug at no cost.
However, my shock when I was told to fetch the car was on being told to go and park the car at home still in its new rattling and shaky mode up until I was able to buy the other spark plugs.
Imagine my disgust after having paid over R6,100 and some odd to ensure a still well functioning vehicle in the same or even better condition as I had driven into the centre instead the gentleman further asked me if I was sure this shaking problem had never occurred before.
Disgust emanating from the question and the anger of now being left with a shaky and rattling Mercedes which I brought to the centre with no trouble besides the brakes.
Trust this when I brought in the shaky and rattling car on the 1st of August 2023, I still believed the centre would fix it and return my car to its normal functioning state. After believing in the brand and its reputation market wide,I sit instead with a larger problem than I had brought the car for.
I write this email very disgruntled at the service I received at Car Service City in North end , PE and it is my firm belief that the Centre severley damaged my vehicle. I am very disappointed at the brand and the service I got.

Repair work done to my vehicle
I have sent my car for an engine oil leak repair at the Claremont branch on Thursday, 1 December 2022. I asked for an inspection and they said it was my crank and camshaft seals that were causing the leak. I got quoted R5 500 for the repairs and I accepted. They did the work, and while testing the vehicle they caused engine damage which resulted in an engineer coming to assess the vehicle. This quote came to R12 100, the branch offered to half this quote with me and I accepted. I went to fetch my car a week later on Wednesday, 7 December 2022, but my car was still leaking oil. It is, apparently, the oil pump that is now causing the oil leak.
I've paid nearly R12 000 out of my pocket for work to be done yet the problem I sent my car in for is still not resolved. This is infuriating and extremely frustrating as this branch is keeping me in the dark about things. I am still waiting on a call from the branch manager to explain why my car is still leaking oil. It is now Friday, 9 December 2022.
Desired outcome: Have my oil leak fixed.
This business is just a scam
Was initially quoted R2.7k.
After leaving the car, my final invoice came to R5.7k, not because they found additional things to fix.
But simply because my Audi A5 uses "premium" spark plugs. How a servicing company does not know this beforehand is beyond me... So I had to pay an additional R3k. So that I may collect my vehicle (sounds like rando hey)
3 days later my car would not start, Control module gave in. Would not blame Car Service city for this. but again, they could not pick this up? I would just take my car to an Audi service centre going forward.
and then the icing on the cake is when the mechanic working on my car, took it for a test drive afterward and picked up a R600 fine. I have notified Car Service city about this and have not heard anything back from them for over a month.
Desired outcome: Just reimburse me for the fine

I will never ever take my car to car service city - it was suppose to be a normal service of r2400 which we paid - then they picked up all these other components to be fixed which came to 10k. When I now want to fetch my car, they are holding my car ransom on some invalid reason that my funds first need to reflect before they can hand over my vehicle - proof of payment is not sufficient with them - what kind of business are they operating? In addition, they then want to charge you r150 per day storage fees while your vehicle is there - it's atrocious - day light robbery - and now they refuse to hand me over my car even after paying - never ever ever again - horrible service

Brake Pads
I have sent Ford Ranger bakkie for service Reg No FR35XRGP on the 24th March at Glen ridge and I have paid for brake pads replacement extra but they are worn out and have damaged my bearings and discs please resolve this issue urgently. The left hand one is looking OK but the right hand side is completely bad. I'm still waiting for the so called Manager but no communication is made to me and I am stuck and all my business meetings are on hold.

I came in with my car overheating and when I came back to get it, it no longer changes gears now and drives only in sport. When I point this out they say I brought it in as is, but they even test drove the car after the alleged repairs they said it was just changing gears slowly, not stuck. When I came to get it I got stuck down the road as it was stuck on gear 1, and I definitely drove all the way there when I brought it in with zero gear selection issues
Asked them for a car inspection beforehand to check what was wrong with the car overall then I can check the quote and approve what I can fix...and to check why the fan was rattling when I accelerate. The rattling sound is very much still there if not worse now. When I complained they keep saying is the car overheating?, which to me sounds like a slap in the face cause how am I supposed to test it if I can only move on gear 1 and not even go 30km/h?
I asked for the complaints desk and I was told there is nothing to complain about, and furthermore I am not allowed access to the recorded phone calls. The lady ended up reluctantly giving me this number [protected] which is not working) but refused to tell me of the proper channels to lay a complaint...Is POPIA nor the right to information not applicable to your company?
I am honestly disappointed and unhappy, I have been constantly getting my car serviced with you for the past 3 years but this was the last time. I regret bringing my car cause it feels like I just went for a very expensive cosmetic lift for irrelevant parts of the engine, and as a bonus, now the gears don't work anymore.
Personally I wouldn't make the mistake of recommending you to my worst enemies

For the past 2 years I've been servicing my car at Midrand Branch Gauteng and their customer service was 100%. . It's my first time servicing my car at Lynnhood branch Pretoria, the reception white old lady have bad stinky attitude especially if you black I was not happy at all.
They couldn't even provide me with transport to go back home . . I'm definitely not coming back there and I wouldn't recommend that branch to anyone.

He rudely told me to go to the car's manufacturer while I was inquiring over the phone. (oddly enough, I should have listened).
I went for their service the following day. He aggressively banged on my car... I told him to not do that... He got offended and told me to take my car somewhere else... He acted like he is the owner of the business!... After 15 years of safe driving, he officially
became the 1st person to tell me that I am a bad driver!😂🤣🤣. I disliked his service so much that I agreed that Car Service City _Thohoyandou is not the right place for me/my car.
This helped a lot because I ended up checking their reviews😊😊... I believe l was divinely protected from the pain of all these hurt/disappointed car service city's customers/reviewers.

I booked my car for a major service and it's not my 1st time servicing with them
I was booked in satisfactorily by the front desk lady, the problem started when I reported the following that had to be checked
-start stop system nolonger activates and it has been like dat since last service.
- I asked for it to be checked out if needs be I will pay additional charges for it to be fixed.
Boka the manager came and started reading warranty conditions to me without trying to find out my issue, I was never claiming any free repair but simply asked to have it checked.
The manager got really agitated and went on to verbally abuse me and told me to go service my vehicle at Mercedes.
He even threatened to cancel my booking as if it's his dealership. Mr Snyman must do something about this grown boy

Computer box
My corsa lite had a computer box problem.i took it to car city in linmeyer.it took them so long for me to get my car as they were waiting for the box to be coded.6weeks.when the car came bak it was boiling.had difficulties to start the car.When i went back to tell them they said that was another problem not a computer box
Little did i know there was a part they fogort to put it.they said they will look for it.in 2days the car did not have power until i was stuck.The guy who tow me said it was the box.i called them but they were rude to me
Agreed Car Service City is a con. They hand out pamplets then when your car goes in for service come back with a host of other issues. They either don't do the work or do it badly. They forgot to put my sump plug and my engine seized. So from advertised as a R700 service, the cost was R13000 and the car is totally stuffed.
not happy with their work
I took my Polo there last week for a major service, when I got my car back from them the ABS warning light went on and stays on, the car vibrates when I drive and it never used to do that, there's also a funny noise coming from the engine, it sounds like the engine is loose and it's banging again's something under the hood, the brakes also makes noise.

Took my car to them with an engine misfire. After a week I was told that the cause is low compression on a single cylinder. I went in and proved the so-called 'mechanic' wrong and he went away to try again. Another week later I was told that the problem is electrical and they cannot fix it, I need to take the car to an auto electrician. I was given a report about some sensor fault and low compression. I was done debating with idiots so I told them that I will prove to their chief mechanic that they are lying when I went to fetch the car the next day. Surprisingly he did show up and I again explained to him why their report is wrong. Later the day they managed to eventual fix the car by replacing the fault coil stick. This is how incompetent their staff is! And never did they take responsibility for lying. If I was less technically savvy I might have told them to rebuild the engine to fix the low compression! This place should not be in business, FULL STOP!
unethical behaviour by management
I would like to stay anonymous as I know some staff/workers that works for one of the branches to prevent further victimization. I got to find out and also witnessed that certain owners/management are treating their personnel unfairly, very unprofessional and unethical. Some of the issues: contradictions on employment contracts ; working hours ; the manner they speak to their staff/workers, no one should be allowed to shout and swear in any office / workshop space by any owner/manager ; annual leave issues ; unfair deductions on salaries/wages ; paying for uniforms where as other staff/workers pay nothing ; use of staff's own vehicles for work purposes

Hi, im very irate, dissapointed, my car went for a service to car service city alberton and after I left there about 10km of driving, the lights on the dash board came on and the car went into limp mode and started jerking. I stopped in the side of the highway not sure whether to drive I tried calling car service city but they was closed.. I towed the home home. Now I dont have a to go to work on monday. My car was perfectly fine before. They couldn't even switch the service light off.. The cars engine light is on and the wav light is on. My headlight adjuster is bringing up a fault also.

On Monday the 15th January 2018, my son dropped off the car at car service city Northmead Benoni for service. The car is a Ssangyong Korando Turbo(automatic). On Saturday the 20th January, the gears of the car were dysfunctional. Monday the 22nd January we called them and they came and took the car for assessment. Two days later we were told that the oil was drained and is dirty due to non service of the gearbox. We were advised that they will get the gearbox specialist to assess the car and they will give feedback. There was no feedback received unless if we called the service provider. Almost daily I was calling and speaking to Kenny who was dealing with our car. Every time when I called I was told that the gearbox specialist is still stripping the car and they will call me back. I never received any call from them. On Tuesday the 6th February i went to check and also wanted to get some documents which were in the car. I requested that they provide me with the address of the gearbox specialist, but was told I cannot go there. They are the only people allowed to go there which I found strange. Later on that day, my son went to fetch the documents from car service city northmead. When I called them the same day, Kenny said they are waiting for quotations from suppliers and they will let me know as soon as they received one. Still I did not receive any call. I called again on the 8th, still told the same thing. On Friday I called again and told Kenny that we desperately need a car. I think they should give us the car back. He promised to call me back. After an hour or so I called him, he said the specialist guy is out. Later on he called me and said the cost to fix the car is about R 42 300. I told him I need the car. I cannot afford that kind of money. He told me that I will have to pay the cost for stripping out the car and on top of that they are not allowed to reassemble it. I will have to take the car which is stripped. I asked him how can I take a car that is stripped, yet the car was in order when they took it. He said that's how they operate. I need to have my car back in working condition. I also need a courtesy car whilst they fix my car. Please
