Every month I check my accounts through the apps on my phone. When I tried to open the Credit Care app today it told me my services have been interrupted and that I needed to call. I was very concerned because all my cards are set to recurring monthly payments. This card in particular I usually payoff the amount to keep up with the 0% finance so I am always a head of the game. I spoke with Michelle Robinson and she proceeded to tell me my account was closed due to payment kickbacks. She was not to informative about what occurred to lead up to the grantor closing my account and basically told me there is nothing she can do, repeatedly! I was very confused and now very very upset as you can imagine. I had to do my own research because Ms. Robinson seemed unwilling to help me any further.
What happened is they have been using an old checking account to retrieve my payments. Rightfully, the person (ex husband) who owns the account they were using stopped the payments which apparently led to the closure of my account. I never received any communication regarding any of this. Because I make frequent lump sum payments with the account number they were supposed to be using, it never occurred to me that payments were being paid via the old account. I received no alerts on my app nor any e-mails or phone calls warning me that they will be closing my account. I changed the recurring bank account number some time ago when I did a name change on the account. I remember one month they tried to take it out of the old account but I called and thought it was fixed. This is a mistake on both parties but I'm the one paying the price by the grantor cancelling my card whereby leaving me without the use of it ever again to pay for my healthcare. I've never missed a payment with Care Credit. I am sick to my stomach that my credit will be affected by this MISTAKE. I've made 100% of my payments on time. This MISTAKE has something to do with my divorce and changing my name and account number. It's an oversight but had this been communicated to me I would have resolved it immediately but instead I was kicked to the curb. The way this was handled was unprofessional and very degrading! I really needed this card for I am without health insurance and it was such a big help for me. I'm just so devastated a company would treat someone like this without allowing me to dispute and explain my side.
Desired outcome: I want my Care Credit Card to be reinstated.
