damaged luggage
My name is Veronica Mc Kenna, I am a regular traveller with Caribbean Airlines. On a few occassions when I collected my luggage I saw damages and on one occassion I had to purchase a new one. On June 28th I was bringing my grand daughter to Trinidad for a vacation, we travelled from Orlando (MOC) to Port of Spain on BW 485, my grand daughter's name is Njeni Mc Kenna. When I retrieved our suitcases I saw damage to my grand daughter's large checked luggage, the back right wheel was severly damaged (its almost falling off as can be seen in the photo.
Njeni is due to return to the U.S. soon and she would not be able to use this piece of luggage. Hoping that this issue can be resolved as soon as possible. Thank you and best regards.
suitcase
Post BW 521 July 04th, 2019, my suitcase of which I had for approximately 5 months was badly damaged. The damage was clearly visible to the front pocket of the suitcase where it looked like a clean slash or rip with a sharp object. I immediately launched a complaint with the baggage claim at the Piarco international airport with reference number POSBW36879 and was told to rely my misfortune via this website for further information on retrieving compensation for my damaged luggage. Attached is a photo of the damage.

This is for all those wheelchair assistants. Stop taking advantage of these innocent people just for the sake of getting alcohol or whatever else. Shame on you people. What these idiots do is to ask the wheelchair passengers if they're buying any items from duty free and when they say no, they take their customs info and purchase things for themselves and have it hanging o the wheelchair handle so that the customs officer will think it belongs to the passenger. You people are very disgusting and should be fired. Don't you now that it is illegal to use someone else's information. You're such dummies, just for the sake of a couple dollars. Shame, Shame on you for using these people. For anyone who have passengers travelling and require a wheelchair, please let them know not to give out their information to anyone. Caribbean Airlines should fire all you disgusting people.
delayed departure
Flight from Miami to POS and from POS to Suriname on 1 may 2019 . Departure from POS was scheduled for 23.35. After several changes it finally took place a round 08.30 next morning (9 hours later) . Without any proper information to the passengers .My husband and me did not get any blanket to cover "because there were not enough". The service was VERY BAD just like the food and the coffee on the flight. We DID NOT get what we paid for! The least we should be compensated is the refund of the tickets (money) If the delay is 6 hours or longer the company has to refund the money completely.
I NEVER expected THIS treatment from Caribbean airlines.
unethical behavior
Returning from Guyana on the night of the 17th April 2019 I was met with a harrowing experience by two Caribbean Airlines associates at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport. As I waited for the flight, which was canceled from 11:30 pm., to 2:15 am. At the time of boarding I was sitting next to the first associate with her back facing me and as my seat number was called I was the first one in the line. She then claimed she did not see me and suggested I go to the end of the line. I said "why are you harassing me? She said "I don't have eyes at the back of my head". She refused and would not board me. Meanwhile others in the line say my position and offered me a place in front of them, which she arrogantly refused too. So I waited without a word being said. As the last passenger left she stood there watching me with no word. So I said to her in a calm manner "are you going to board me or not" she then took my passport. Now, as if that was not enough and to add salt to injury, as I sat in the plane the other associate that collected the ticket entered the plane and came straight to me and asked if I was in my right seat. I said "yes" and she left. I asked myself ‘why just me' and is this courtesy and professionalism. Awaiting Caribbean Airlines response before further dispatch.

Re: customer complaint forth time - re damaged luggage - no response from company
To complaints department
Caribbean airlines
I have decided to put all of this in writing as we have now attempted several times to claim via the email method without success of any reply. We did a correspondence via your website last week and were not responded to.
Debra and I traveled with caribbean airlines from trinidad to barbados on thursday 7th march on flight bw0412 8.05am. On arrival in barbados my suitcase was missing all together and debra's arrived badly damaged. I eventually got my suitcase at 10pm that night delivered to my aunts home which was appreciated.
We have been trying to get the matter of debra's suitcase resolved since.
Debra's suitcase was purchased for this holiday, so it was brand new. It is a futura hard shell orange suitcase and when it was taken off the luggage carousel in barbados the suitcase was very badly damaged. The damage was reported immediately to the person who took down the details of my missing suitcase.
This is a copy of the report that was provided to us on the day.
The suitcase is not repairable, as it was brand new, we have contacted the manufacturer and have been informed that we are not able to claim it under warranty as the hard-shell part is not under warranty only zips and wheels etc.
The case has been badly treated by the baggage handlers for it to be so broken. We were advised by the staff on the baggage dispute counter that we should claim the baggage damage, as it was due to mishandling while in the care of your airline baggage staff. Here are the pictures that were taken in barbados airport.
We are seeking compensation for the damages to our new suitcase and believe that we should be reimbursed for the cost of the suitcase so that we can buy a new suitcase. We paid $359.00 australian for the suitcase on the 31st october last year.
We would appreciate a response from your business as we have now tried on three occasions to place a claim without success. Each time we have completed it on line we get a message stating that our claim has been successful and then we don't hear anything further.
I would appreciate a reply email to this one to acknowledge receipt of this email and then I will wait for a formal response as to the companies reply on our request.
Regards,
David and debra smith

flight delay bw 525 february 21 20 19
My name is Leonie Harry I was schedule to depart on flight 525 from JFK to port of spain Trinidad. ten minutes after take off the pilot announce the flight had to return to JFK. the passenger were placed in an area and told the flight will leave for port of spain @ twelve am, an hour later we were told the flight will leave the following day and we had to go to a hotel . I choose not to do so because I had no change of clothing for the following day, I return to my home. I paid 150$ back and forth from the air port, I do not think 150$ is any kind of compensation for such an inconvenience I lost an entire day from my vacation and added stress because of that delay and I don't think we were treated properly . I have been a loyal customer for many years with Caribbean airlines I am very sad hopefully you guys can do better.

unaccompanied minor fee
On Friday December 14 2018 I purchased 2 tickets to NYC from low on flight BW520. The 12:15 flight. The customer service representative that booked the flight took my children's passport to complete the purchase. I asked her if there was anything that I need to know if do as they are children flying alone. She smiled and said no.
When I arrived at the airport to check-in my daughters Ammina Wescott and Serene Wescott I was told that I had to pay a fee of $200 USD plus tax for Serene to travel as an in accompanied minor.
My complaint is that I did of have the funds to pay this sudden cbarge. I was literally cornered into a wall. I was not treated fairly. There was no mention of a fee at purchasing. I feel robbed. The staff at the airport were callous and unprofessional about the situation. I chose not to be loud or make a scene nor then to social media to tarnish this airline's name as I have travelled with Caribbean Airlines on many occasions incident free.
I just got home from Piarco Airport. And I'm not happy.
The better business bureau said that I have to contact Caribbean Airlines and receive a response or no response before I can officially file my complaint.
flight day change
Hello you all. in December 3rd I booked a flight ticket with your company, I needed to flight to GEO from HAV on January 29th 2019. I got the ticket for that day as I thought in flight BW477 HAV - POS and BW483 POS - GEO, record locator LNP465. For many reasons I had to change my date flight to January 26th, I ran to the Take Off Commercial Sales Office in HAV located at 23 Ave on date December 6th, the sales Agent named Marta Chuy Aleman did not know how to set the date change in the system, after 1hrs of trying she asked me to come back another day because she did not know the way of doing that change, she took my phone number and told me that she wanted to find out with another agent to do itas well and after that she will call me to pass for the office, I called her next day and was the same. I came back on December 12th very upset and she told me that the change was made in the system but she did not know how to set the fees to complete the change, once more asked me to come another day and asked me to let her the fee 50.00 $ to pay the charges for the flight day change, and she will call me once done, I let her the money and so far I still calling her back and I do not have reservation neither my 50.00 back, I expect you do something because how she is working for your company and does not know how to do it ! I have been waiting for more than a week to get my new ticket and nothing happens, people like this one make your company fall and loose customers interested of flying with you.
I will like reimbursement for bw1509 flight to trinidad and fees that were paid for one additional baggage.
My name is Cynthia P. Cummings
I boarded the flight BW1509 from Tobago to Trinidad. My final destination was Toronto, Canada.
Due to inclement weather the flight diverted to Grenada since it was unable to land in Trinidad due to poor visibility. I missed my international flight to Canada.
I will like reimbursement for the flight from Tobago to Trinidad and the fee for excess luggage which amounted to $68.00.
Look forward to your reply.
Thank-you.

I was scheduled to travel on BW 449 from Bridgetown to POS on October 21st 2018. Due to the flood, the flight was cancelled.
Efforts to contact CAL by phone were aggravating .and unpleasant .
After holding on for 46 minutes of the phone in Barbados, the call disconnected . I was caller no 2 .
I had to restart the whole process . The recording was terrible, listening to the services offered repeatedly.
Can’t you play some soothing music ? This further exacerbates the situation . It’s downright annoying !
