Carnival cruise lines

This is the first time i have cruised on the carnival line and i was repulsed at what happened!
We embarked on 9/5 from nyc. We went directly to our cabin number 8235 which we booked over six months ago. The cabin was very nice and large (The reason it was booked was due to the size and location!) there was a funky odor in the cabin but we overlooked it.
The odor became totally unbearable and neauseated me to the point of being physically ill and vomiting! I could not eat and went to the medical office (All of our complaints and issues are documented on the ship reference number 834008126a.)
By the third day i was so sleep deprived as the odor was so intense that (We even tried sleeping on the balcony!) we left the cabin door open as well as the balcony door to air out the cabin. I was a total mess, my clothing was permeated with the odor as well as the sheets, pillows, even my hair and skin reeked of the horendous smell!
We complained numerous times and had many of your people up to the cabin. They could smell the odor; however, they did not know what to do about it!
The entire area including the area by the elevators was now over taken by this horendous odor! Breathing it in for three or four days made us sensitive to it and whenever we came near it we had to hold our noses and run to the cabin or elevator!
Nice way to travel on a vacation! We couldn’t even go on any tours due to my illness from this situation!
I had no idea how this effected our health as we have no idea what it was that we were breathing in! (A copy of this letter will be sent to the department of health in hopes that they will investigate this matter.:

As well as other businesses that can investigate this problem!) we were under the assumption that it was old food, garbage and garlic and extremely poor ventilation that was blowing this odor into the cabin and all around deck 8 aft.
We eventually were put in another cabin (8267) which was ½ the size of what we booked and paid for. The ship gave us $300 room credit for our discomfort and this was not at all acceptable! We had to pack everything up and move it right in the middle of the cruise which was another dissappointment and discomfort as well as the downgrade of our cabin! By this time our entire cruise was ruined as well as my mental and physical state!
Our cruise was ruined, i am still suffering from neausea and the smell is still apprarent in my home now even after washing all our clothing!
I expect reimbursement for our vacation as it was hardly a vacation but more a torturous and unhealthy 9 days!
The follwing will also be advised of our experience.

I was on a carnival crusie that sailed on sept.20th - sept.27th on the valor, and we had payed for luggage express and they lost my luggage, My life was in those bags and all they could do is lie to me everyday i call them, they havent made one phone call i did all the calling! I have had to buy something everyday to replace what was in those bags to survive and all they can say, Did you take travellers insurance? Why should i have to go after the insurance when they were the ones that lost the bags?
We complained about the EXACT same thing back in January of 2008. We had cabin 8227 on the same ship (Miracle). The last three days of our cruise, they moved us to the only available cabin which was on the inside FIRST floor. This is NOTHING like a cabin with a balcony as you surely know.
The captain and some crew visited our cabin to identify the problem. All acting innocent like it was the first they'd ever heard of this problem. We found a dryer sheet that the previous tenants of our room had stuffed into the vent (their solution, I guess). I wrote letters to Carnival and they only ever sent form letters and a meager "room credit" for the next time we book a cruise.
I am a college professor and I see about 100 brand new students a semester. If you don't think I take EVERY opportunity to tell these students about my experience, you are mistaken!
Your complaint makes it clear that they know about this problem, and have known about this problem, but will not do anything significant about it (except continue to take money from unfortunate passengers).

my wife was booked on carnival and left today out of florida...she had a loose 22 caliber bullet and the idiot security held her 4 hours, taking pictures od the suspect bullet, and asking stupid questions...she called me finally after they released herto go on her cruise with the rest of her highschool friends...
all of this over a ### loose 22 bullet in her bag, that they emptied on a table in the first place...my wife is a very suspicious lookiing retired 60 year old bank exec...she has a permit to carry a pistil...THAT IS HERE AT HOME, AND NOT WIITH HER...! why would she carry her gun on a carnival ship, after all, they are the safest cruise lines in the business...rotff..
i am guessing the mcdonalds rejects panicked at the sight of the bullet..i can promise that carnival will not get another ###ing copper from my pocketbook in the future..
pardon my typos...

Did anyone ever get a reply from Carnival? We booked a Suite - first time ever as my wife has liver cancer and we wanted to have the best experience ever. We have done more than 60 cruises. The people and the food was excellent. But the cabin - suite - was awful. it was very very cold and it vibrated so badly that things actually fell off of the counters! Impossible to speak to anyone except the steward as the phone just said. "you are in a queue" and no one ever answered. I have emailed and sent letters buy received no reply.
