staff and my account
I would like to make a complaint as I went into cash generator Hartlepool and I use this slot I went to put my daughter's Christmas present in her fire tablet to enable me some extra cash until my pay day.. then I got told I was not allowed to use the service buy or sell in the shop no more by one of the staff who apparently said that when I took a gold bracelet in over a year ago and since then still used the service a lot aparently when he sent the bracelet off it was not real gold.. which I then said excuse me how long ago and as for that they tested the bracelet in the shop to see if it was real gold and it was baring in mind I new it was at it was my nannas.. now a year later and agin still continued to use the service I use buy back a lot.. this bracelet has been tested by the staff in the shop so if they haven't don't there job properly I don't know but I'm quiet shocked and the cheeky attitude I got off the guy and how demoralised I was in the shop as he then turned me away and embarrassed me and said I am not allowed to use buy back service no more.. now this bracelet was a year ago I've used the service since plenty of time and the guy in the shop done his job and tested the bracelet so how dose this affect me now to aparently the guy said I'm not allowed to use service no more.. I have nothing in writing got totally demoralised and I would like to take this further as I have done nothing wrong and use the service a lot and apparently so the bracelet is not gold which he had tested and accepted and was a year ago how do I not know he's put another cheap bracelet in a pocketed the original one I put in for extra cash and now someone how a year later and carried on using the service I was not allowed to my baby girls tablet in to get me some extra cash until pay day due to this and due to this guy in Hartlepool cash generator who just laughed and smuggerd now I don't have anything to say I am not allowed to go there or anything there was another staff serving me and went to give me the money for the tablet on buy back then this guy comes out and says all this.. which I think it's him who hasn't done his job properly if it was not real gold when he sent it off.. which it was as he tested in the shop and now a year later it now affects me. I would like somebody to get back to me I asked to speak to his manager I got told I have to go online and got laughed at I'm not happy with this at all and I want this resolving so I can still use the service this all should be on CCTV also. My contact number is [protected] my email is [protected]@hotmail.co.uk and hopefully somebody can help me as I am not letting staff treat and con people clearly and then try and discriminate me from not using the service just off his own word of mouth who is this guy he's no manager there was no manager there and like I said he told me to make a complaint online I really want this dealing with please someone help thanks Chelsea
incompetent lazy staff
I want to make a complaint against cash generator branch in Glasgow. Their address is : 222 main street, rutherglen, g73 2hp.
The shop stinks, the odour is sickening.
They close at 5pm, not 5.30pm. I arrived at 5pm to a half closed shutter and a locked door with staff inside mouthing we are closed, I needed to get my guitar back but they wouldn't fulfill their legal obligation. Next day after postponing my trip to England because they didn't serve me at 5pm the previous day, I waited 45 mins at least while 2 of them looked for my guitar in a flight case (not a small item by any stretch of the imagination). They also didn't give me my change, I had to ask for it, yes really. I pass the shop on my way home everyday and without fail everyday at 5pm the shutter is half closed, they are obligated to serve customer until 5.30pm not 5pm. I just want them to stay open till 5.30pm as they assert, the staff should be sacked in my opinion.
Did you have a response from this? As I emailed a similar complaint but it was undelivered! Same thing, I turned up at 5.15 to cash a cheque to be told we're closed! I stated I had checked online for opening times and she just shouted "no we're closed". I phoned the shop the following day to ask the opening times and told 5 again so I said it says on your website half 5 to which she replied we need to get that changed. The customer seervice was appalling!

ps4 pad and game..
I av been a coustom for many of years now I have helping my friend out as she doesn't have an account with cash generation.. she has been putting her stuff in my account every time a letter comes saying you have to back it up we go and back them up
We never receive a letter in June saying they need rewning and as I went in today to buy back my mates PS4 then ask to buy back her pad for PS4 and one game I was told they hadn't been renewed.. I know for a fact that your company send me letters... every other time items we have that need renewed effort would receive a letter fee days before .. I'm shocked that the guy in the shop wouldnt help us and said some times the letters don't get send out I have had stuff in there for the last 2 years my mates been putting her stuff in for last year in my name and we've never had anything lost before.. he wouldn't help get the pad for the PS4 and game back and I'm really disappointed in the way he spoke to us like it was our fault say we should of kept they letters we are both dyslexic and rely on the reminder letter as it makes us remember to get back up or out and this occasion we never had the reminder letter so she lost her stuff and i am not happy
laptop loan under buy back scheme
Hi...I want to make a complaint against cash generator branch in Glasgow. Their address is : 222 main street, rutherglen, g73 2hp.
I took 150 pounds LOAN against my recently purchased hp laptop. I took the LOAN on 15 th July 2017. I was supposed to pay 202.50 before or on 12th Aug 2017 to get my laptop back under buy back scheme.
I got paid on 28th July 2017 from my employer and went to buy it back. I paid the money 202.50 to the girl standing at the desk, her name is Jennifer. She gladly accepted the money and gave me the receipt and told me to wait so that she can bring my laptop. I waited there for about an hour and when no body turned up with laptop, I ask them what's wrong. She explained that the girl who gave me the LOAN at the first place has put my item where they are unable to locate but it is somewhere in the building. I said ok, I will go and come back in an hour. I went around 12 the same day. They said me the same thing and inststed that they r very busy and I should come back later. I said ok, I went around 4 pm that day and still there were no signs of my item. I started to get angry as by that point. I have paid them 202.50 which is 52.50 extra of the original LOAN value which I used for 13 days and after paying, I have the right to ask for my item. So I ask until you can't locate my item, please give me the money back. They were reluctant at start but finally gave me my 202.50 and ask me to come next day. I went this morning 29th July 2017 and this girl Jennifer said she is still looking for my item and advised me to come back around 2. I went again around 2 ...again the same story and now they are telling me to come on Monday and when I ask, Monday surely I will get my item back and in her words her reply was : I will try.
Clearly they don't give a [censor]. I want to know what can I do, even if I paid them the full amount and still cant get my laptop which is worth nearly 500 pounds. I also have a suspicion that some of the colleagues they might take customer items at home and use them as the girl who initially gave me the LOAN, I didn't see her in these two days and this staff keeps on mentioning that only she knows where it is.
I am so much stressed. Please advise me what to do.
same here, she took at least 45 mins to find my guitar in flight case. and they close at 5pm everyday not 5.30pm.
pink samsung notebook
Hi back some years ago I came in with a note book Samsung and pawned it at canton cash generator. Some years later when I picked this item up the screen was broken and does not come on at all. I then came back to the store to tell them where I was spoken to like rubbish by one of the lady's saying it doesn't mean they done it. Well they did definitely do it because I no. She took it across the road to a shop where they then said it was most likely caused by them due to something leaning on the box which the guy had advised them. I ended up leaving the shop with my broken not book crying very upset as all my precious pictures are stored on the device. I then went home and spoke to head office, they adviseem what to do and I then went back to the shop to speak with the manager. He offered me my original £60 back that I got back years ago when pawing the notebook. I very stupidly took this offer, basically getting ripped off around £800 all the money I've spent to keep my goods safe... which obviously wasn't the case as they damaged my goods. I have been in contact with some people about this situation over the last few weeks and I'm taking things future! At the end of the day why have I struggled for years to keep this item safe for me to only be out of pocket! I feel very vulnerable and robbed by the shop. Is there anything you are going to do about this for me please before I go to south Wales echo with my solicitor. You should bit be allowed to do this to poor people like me?
reselling of products
I put my iPhone 7 in on a loan. Unfortunately I could not afford to buy back
My phone was not restored to factory settings by shop and was sold with all my details on it
Someone now has access to all my data and is using my details and email address, they have all my personal photos and access to my Facebook account
I think it's disgusting that they could sell the phone without wiping it first
What about the data protection act
That's terrible! I would look at suing them under the data protection act. It's not too late.
multiple buy back loans that I couldn't afford
During 2011 until 2016 I used your 'buy back' facility in several of your Liverpool shops. My intention is to claim compensation for 'unaffordable lending' against cash generators.
Can I firstly ask for a 'statement of accounts' for all my multiple loans. I require a list of loan amount, interest amount, repayments and dates.
Regards,
Mark Dixon

area manager
I went in to my Swansea branch to sell 2 items only to be told by the area manager who was horrible and obnoxious with no customer care value that I needed instructions for a drill. Anyone who's gonna buy this drill knows that if you plug it in and put a drill bit in it knows how to use it. But she said she can't test it cos she couldn't plug it in. I have been a very good customer but sadly won't be using your services due to this incompetent arrogant area manager that was in swansea this morning.
the manager
The manager advised me what lap top would be suitable for my 7 year old daughter, as I was getting her one for her birthday, it was wasn't until we got to the till he had said that the mouse on it was broke, that wasn't a problem, could of mentioned it when he was showing the other lap tops but ok fine I still bought it. This was a week today. So last night my daughters dad had called and said he had bought her a brand new one, so I thought right ok let me first check and see if I can take this back, it stated that items bought in the shop could be returned within 7 days if you hav changed your mind and don't want it, as long as it is in the condition you bought it and have the reciept, so I ticked all of the above, and as it was wrking to its full potential it made sense for her to keep the new one, so I say to the manager what had happened he said there was no way he could change it it's not the policy, I said I read in on your website he's still telling me no if u need money the best he can do is for me to buy it back, well that offended me, I explained again, tried to find it on the website but typically couldn't se it, so he said to call customer services, knowing full well they were closed and my garentee would run out today, so I left the shop called customer services it was then I found out they weren't open, so I look online again and I find what I was looking for earlier, go back to the shop, he's now saying no, iv then read to him and shown him in the website, no saying it's not up to him he had to get authorisation from a regional manager come back Monday so he can check the terms and conditions, which as a manager you would expect them to know, on a simple thing as returns, so I leave, I find the terms and conditions go back to the shop and tell him, he was like right I'm goin to need to speak to the area manager goes out the back and what do you know after all that says he can do it, after an hour and a half goin back and fourth with my three children one being my daughter, my autistic son and 6 month daughter, it has infuriated me that he just didn't do this in the first place, has wasted my time when it was such a quick and easy thing to do, the manger either needs to be trained in this store or sacked for for lying to a customer
iphone 6
Hi, to whom it may concern, I have a run in at the Northfield Birmingham store, and i must tell you that i have never receive such bad service before, i buy an Iphone 6 on the 06.05.17, that i had problems with, took it back to the store on the 12.05.17 for a refund. Only to be told that they have to send the phone off to a repair shop down the road to have it check out so i can't get a refund until the phone has been fix. to cut a long story short i went back the next day to tell them that i no longer need the phone and to give me a refund...that didn't go down well, the store man told me that am not getting a refund because the phone has been fix, i said that i don't need the phone anymore, he still refuse to give me a refund, I have to get the police on my other phone, and when the store man heard me mansion hear the word police he went away for five minis then come back saying that he got to his boss, I have to tell him that he is breaking the law refusing me my refund, Because of consumer goods act 1997 about goods not fit for sale.. So after 50mins of me shouting in the store, I finely leave with my full refund.. So please be note, if you are going to ask for a refund make sure that you know your rights and that you have nothing to do in a hurry because it is going to take you a long time to get this sorted...or you could just stay away from this store.. Store man name is Ian Donaldson..
ps4 (slim) control pad
I bought a PS4 control pad for £35 on the 31st of march . tested it at home that evening but it was not working . I did not have time to take it back within the 3 working days warranty as specified because of my working pattern 9am till 5:30pm Monday till Saturday . I work for BT about about 15 walk away from the store and could not make it there before they closed which is at 5:30pm . I asked my manager on one occasion to please allow me leave on time to meet up before the store closes but at arrival they had shut and waved to me from inside the store we are shut . I decided to call their land phone [protected] and spoke to a man about the situation . He said i needed to speak to a manager he has no authority and advised me to come in during my lunch.i was already having lunch then so would make it to and fro back to my desk without being late for work . the next i called again and spoke to a manager called Omar and he asked me to come in day if possible . so i had to forfeit my lunch to walk down there to explain the situation. The next day i went with PS4 control pad and handed it to Omar and he said i was supposed to come with my console as well for him to test the pad with . my response was but you never asked me to however you sell consoles and you can test it with one of them . he placed it on charged and said it was flashing yellow that i have not charged it enough the control pad battery was dead . so we agreed i leave it with him for sometime to charge and he took my mobile number and said he would call me that day when it works for me to pick up . he only called me the next day in the morning for me to come and collect that he could not fix it . and stated that since i had elapsed the 3 days warranty there is nothing he can do . i am extremely upset with the whole service/product . the feels like a scam or fraud to me . at the point of sale i asked them why they were selling it so expensive and the response there were no third parties it exclusive to Sony and therefore the difference in price with the brand new is just about £10 to £15 . How they can afford to sell a product at almost brand new and still not working is very appalling . absolutely no morals, no consideration, greed, not value for money and furthermore if i was giving the opportunity to test it there and then would have made it very clear . they have so many consoles there i can test it with but no it was not their policy or practice . they sold me a product that can not be tested at point of sale with a guarantee it should work . They offered me nothing else but to take the control pad of £35 that is not working . if i paid £10 to £20 for it which is less than half price then i might expect it not to be in good condition . IT IS NOT EVEN WORKING . All i want is a control is a refund or control pad that is working . I still have my receipt
unethical marketing
Dear Sir,
I have a complaint regarding the Cash Generator Newport Branch in South Wales UK regarding the purchasing of a DVD.
All DVDs were advertised as being "49p each" (or "12 for 5 pounds.")
Having selected one I went to the till and was told that the DVD costed 12 pounds and some pence (I cannot remember exactly!) I asked to speak to the manager. He told me that the DVD was 5 pounds! When I pointed out that all the DVDs were advertised at 49 pence he said that it had been placed their wrongly and was subject to human error. When I queried the quoted price he said that this only applied to DVDs with an in-store bar code.
He was talking to me behind a glass screen and refused to come over to the DVD section. Thus I took a miscellaneous handful of DVDs over to him and pointed out that none had Cash Generator bar codes or any indication of price. At this point he became exasperated and refused to tell me how much the DVDs I had picked would cost or to discuss the matter further. He just kept mentioning 'human error.'
This event took place yesterday lunchtime - February 14th.
I feel I should take this matter further but thought it only fair to approach you first. I believe that your Newport outlet is guilty of mis-advertising and is surely in contravention of the Trade Descriptions Act. I was also less than impressed by the way the matter was handled by the staff concerned.
I am not used to complaining but a) thought you should be made aware of the incident and b) am interested in how you might deal with it.
Cash Generator stores provide a fine outlet for second hand electrical goods and it is very sad that such an occurrence could sully their reputation.
Yours faithfully,
David Carr
lenovo yoga tablet
I bought a tablet on Xmas eve, I paid £90 for it, when I got it home the thing wouldn't charge, I tried numerous charger and none worked, so I took it back 9/1/17 and explained what the problem was and he said I'd been giving the wrong charger, so We agreed he would order one for me and he would ring me it's in, I lost my receipt and requested a swap first, but was told because I Took the sticker off the back I can't, there was no sticker on the back, I haven't removed anything. that was 2 weeks ago, Ive since rang back but get the same "oh we'll ring when it's in, it wasn't ordered) i would now like a refund on the tablet because my som had to go without this Xmas day. I've never had any problems with cash generator, this has put me off for life
tv's bought on payment plan
I put a deposit on 2 tv's at ur doncaster store.. my childrens main xmas preasent. The lady who served me told me and also wrote on my reciept that my goods needed to be paid for by 3/01/17. I paid £260 in 3 instalments and was again told i must pay they outstanding balance by the 3/01/2017. On the 24/12/2016 a friend called into store to pay my balance and to collect my goods. She was told that my goods had been sold as my last payment was due on the 7/12/2016 and was a 12 week payment plan.. not the 16 weeks i had origanily been told which the sales assistant also wrote on my original recipt. I could not go into store myself as i was in hospital with pneumonia. My partner rang the store to be told your payment was late were not interested what it says on your recipt and the lady who served you no longer works here. Aswell as this we were also told we were not getting our deposit back which was £60 as we were in breach of our contract.. clearly not as i stated i was told and have it written on my recipt my payment plan was for 16 weeks. I am very dissapointed in fact dissapointed is an understatment.. this was my childrens main xmas preasent so xmas day was not as it should of been as my children were and still are very upset. I do want this looking into and i believe i should get my deposit back even though doing this would not make up for the dissapointment our children had on xmas day it is the right thing to do. Please get in touch with me as soon as possible i am not happy at all and i will take things further if needs be.
