Worst college that I have worked in.
This is the worst college I have worked in. They are so disorganized. Their education is not up to the mark. And, their management treat teachers as if they are their servants and they are sweet to you when they want favours from you but they are disrespectful to their employees. Students should not join this college. It is very disorganized and the education is very poor.
on line courses
I was under the impression I was going to get some funds to help with my living expenses,I quit this bubblegum course,i got no help and now I owe the government over 10 grand,The school wants even more money,I barely did 5 weeks,i did not get a practimum This course in a normal school is 10 grand they want 32 grand!I am going to the media with my story regarding the CDI Campus...the reason being is that so many students are being taken advantage of when they want to further there education and make a life for themselves..Why are they using etransfer? They are crooked.
Desired outcome: I want them to return the money to the government not ruin my life
Reimbursement payment
I have sent over 20 emails to the finance department at CDI College to get reimbursed for a CPR course I took in November. They don't respond to any emails and I haven't been reimbursed. I a single mom of 4 and Ned that 180 back like yesterday. I find this school to be highly unprofessional with titles constantly changing and there seems to be no organization. And when I've had enough and express that theu become highly rude I don't know what to do this school is pathetic.
Desired outcome: To get answers to my emails and reimbursed it's been almost 4 months.
MOA course
1. The instructor for the Microsoft word course (Jyoti Kohli) has been unfairly failing me. Most recently I spent over an hour working on an assigned project but was unable to complete a portion worth 8 points out of 100, due to technical issues. She graded me a 2%.
2. I’ve tried emailing people for help throughout the course for various reasons (confusing instructions, lack of information given, ect) and rarely receive a response. A couple times I’ve even received rude responses, or at best passive aggressive.
This course should be simple and it’s taken a toll on my mental health.
Desired outcome: The people responsible for degrading the quality of the course I have paid an exorbitant amount for being held accountable.
Hacked account
I have reached out to the ACSW my practicum coordinator and my facilitator. My account on Microsoft was hacked password has been changed and no one will assist me I cannot do school work cause I cannot get into my account. I sent several emails and was told by my facilitator that it wasn't her problem as she teaches. I am so over this school and there lack of organization. They have no regard with helping there students.
Read full review of CDI CollegeCDI Refuses to return emails
After terminating my academic studies due to my mental health, CDI has refused to return ANY form of correspondence; whether it be by email, telephone, or app. I havent gotten a returned email since February 1st, I have called several times to different CDI numbers to have "We're sorry, we are currently with another student." And no matter how many messages I leave, the calls are never returned.
Desired outcome: I would like for Student Services to return my email
CDI Pharmacy Assistant Program
I signed up for a one-year pharmacy assistant program with CDI college last spring. When trying to find out the basic information about the program I was pressured to sign up as quickly as possible and when I asked any sorts of questions, I was given no real answer except that this program would be worth the time and money. I was worried because a few job postings for pharmacy assistants were posted as minimum wage entry level jobs, so I asked what this certification would mean, and if the jobs really were entry level minimum wage jobs. I was just told they had no idea what I was talking about and this was one of the best career programs that I could get into. Now, I am seeing that there was zero honesty in what they had told me and it was all a sales tactic that they use to manipulate people into thinking that they are getting into a good school. I even asked if there was a “pharmacy technician” program to take instead and was assured that this assistant program would be much better.
We were told we can get a refund on our program if we apply after a very short period of time but they actually just fill up that entire time period with filler classes before you start your program so you have no idea how bad it will actually get. When our program started our “teacher” just showed us Youtube videos and read directly out of the textbook in a monotone voice. Not exactly a teaching experience worth over 10,000 dollars in my opinion. To make it even worse, the videos we were shown often said things like “for children” and “simplified”. A lot of the videos we were being shown were made for small children maybe 6 to 8 years of age. If the lack of teaching isn’t enough to be upset about, I hope you aren’t expecting your assignments to get graded or to hear any feed back until likely a month after your course is complete. It’s a bit hard to know if you’re doing the right thing or even learning when you’ve already submitted all of the assignments.
The content of this program is something that could have been taught in likely a month or two, but they have drawn it our with all sorts of filler material and repetition to make it into a 10 month long program so that it seems like it’s actually useful. Many of the classes were beyond remedial. We had several lessons on how to read a clock, and spent over one month learning math that I learned when I was 7. I did not pay over 10,000 dollars to learn how to do long division. I would not have signed up for this program if I would have known what would be being “taught”
As time went on the program got worse. There were at least two weeks where the course page would barely work, and it still crashes regularly. We got emails with “apologies for the inconvenience” but considering how expensive tuition is for a school that is completely online and doesn’t teach you anything you think that they would at least be able to get a website running properly. With my last two courses nothing you’re supposed to submit matches what is on the course page. I understand if there were a couple of things that have changed and not been updated but basically two entire courses with contradictory information and basically having to run through a virtual maze to find which one is the correct assignment. I shouldn’t be having to spend tons of my own time trying to decipher what I am supposed to do because the teacher won’t write out any instructions and nothing is made clear. She has adamantly mentioned in the live sessions that she will not respond to an email if she has already answered the question in a live session. I understand that getting asked multiple questions multiple times is annoying, but you clearly aren’t explaining it well enough if the entire class is emailing you asking you questions. It generally takes 3 to 4 days to hear anything back from the school anyways.
CDI college is a place where you will pay much more for a significantly worse program that isn’t even certified. You will not get taught and you will not get the support from the school like they promise you before you enroll. As soon as they get your money, they will be absolutely absent. They promise to help you get a practicum, but they actually do absolutely nothing to help you with it either. This is clearly just a company that is preying on people who are trying to make improvements in their lives with absolutely zero regard for their education. Their advertising is dishonest and the programs and teachers are absolutely incompetent.
Desired outcome: I would like a full refund of my tuition and fees

Educational Fraud
To whom It May Concern.
For 18 months I was a Cybersecurity Specialist student at CDI College Brampton Campus. Rwaida Al-Absi worked closely and individually with our class covering several curriculums at different start times throughout the year, in her capacity as our instructor.
Our class required at least two instructors or at lease 2 teaching assistants. We had no support whatsoever before or during class, only her. Technical support only assisted with that which was technical. Beyond that we’re on our own. Rwaida somehow managed to work with each of us in her capacity as instructor and us as her students, which she treated as her own family. I could go on with touching stories but am limited with time at the moment.
Apart from her my experience with Rwaida as my Professor at the time – which I now find invaluable as she was actually my second Instructor of the program, her performance was second to none -I know very little about her qualifications or abilities in world of Education.
I do know that this Instructor is a very hard working, well-educated and organized individual. She has to be.
As an example Rwaida had to address the issues of a class of almost 20 students as well as her own responsibilities as a mother to her own family while adhering to the social restrictions of the government due to the pandemic.
Somehow Rwaida managed to teach a class full of students each starting or continuing a different curriculum at the same time in the same class is indeed an outstanding accomplishment, and one which indicates the high level of care and dedication she brought to her job.
Add to the scenario of having to guide myself as well as my other classmates through each and every one of our separate curriculums which included passing Certification exams in 3weeks that students in University are given 3 months for. I have proof. Amazing organization. I’ve had to complete the last six months of my program with no resources from the college, I have proof. She kept me motivated when I wanted to give up more than once as a result. When she gives her word its as good as done. Period. I once received chat request answer at 11:30. PM not AM. Because she promised me that she would investigate the answer to my query and get back to me that day. I wasn’t the only one she was this dedicated to, again I have proof.
I’m sure this type of efficiency, discipline and planning would be valuable in any professionally educational environment.
It is a privilege and pleasure to provide a review and feedback on this incredible person. A leader who is always willing to help, and with whom I am proud to have as part of my now professional network as well as lifelong associate and friend.
I can be contacted at any time for further feedback where and whenever required.
Sincerely
Randi Spencer
Desired outcome: The public needs to know the truth about this college and this Instructor needs to be recognized.

Expenses / tuition / student loan / psychological abuse
I started at CDI college on the 27th of September, student loan funding started on the 5th of October and supposedly ended on the 31st of October according to CDI but I had emailed them Monday 18th of October requesting a withdrawal from the program and I seized my studies that day. So I was in CDI for less than a month. After notifying them of my withdrawal they continued to email me warnings of my absence from classes. I emailed them on why I was getting these emails if I had already withdrawn from the program and they just told me to not worry about it and that it would be fixed. They later confirmed my withdrawal on the 1st of November.
In the CDI college contract, it says that if less than %10 of the course was completed, CDI college gets %25 of the tuition. Tuition for my course is $16,977.90. I now owe $11,250 with the Canada student loan and Alberta student aid combined. I should in no way owe that amount of money. %25 percent of the tuition is $4,244.48 and the Alberta student aid is $2,220, I should be owing $6,464.48. I am being way overcharged.
When I withdrew later on (I do not remember the date, I think I deleted the email so I have no record of it) I was asked to pay $1,465. For what? I don't know, they never told me. I assumed it was to pay part of the tuition since I was not sure how the payment plan worked. On November 4th I paid the $1,465. Monday 13th of December I was emailed and I did not understand it, the only thing I caught was that I had to start paying in January. I was so confused and distraught that I emailed them back asking for clarification. They got back to me Tuesday 1st of February, between the 13th of December and the 1st of February since I wasn't getting a response I started calling CDI, I called 3 different people, the first one didn't answer and never got a callback, the other two I called the answering machine said that those extension numbers didn't exist. The amount of stress and anxiety I went through was insane and CDI knew I was struggling through mental health problems since it was the reason for my withdrawal.
Desired outcome: I want CDI to clarify to the student loan and fix the amount that I owe. And discount even more of the debt for the psychological abuse I endured.
Policy and procedure
My Daughter enrolled into your programme in the latter part of 2021. Excited about what she was made to believe was a great choice, she took out a student loan and began her schedule of classes. Shortly afterwards she began to experience technical challenges from the college side of her studies. She conversed with staff to no avail and her college contact/advisor neglected to correspond to her frequent and well documented requests for assistance and clarification accordingly. She eventually made the wise choice to end her programme which at that point was she only then responded to by her assigned college staff contact who immediately accused her of poor attendance and that her position was being terminated. Now having taught my daughter very well since pre school to always keep notes and be precise and well prepared, as a police officers child she has always been on point with this level of advice to which I would caution anyone wishing to challenge her in her documentation of evidence.
This date the provincial authorities in charge of student loans have frozen access to further funding support to CDI and an official complaint lodged.
It is my opinion that the shortcomings here fall entirely on CDI staffers who fall short in their duties and policy requirements in ensuring student access and contact.
The most wisest of choices at this point CDI could initiate would be to refund her entire collected fees to date and request an end to the formal government complaint.
Desired outcome: The most wisest of choices at this point CDI could initiate would be to refund her entire collected fees to date and request an end to the formal government complaint.
Online courses with cdi college / lack of help!
It was TOO easy to sign up with CDI College!...
Witch should be your FIRST red flag!...
On Nov, 22, 2021 I started a 9 month course that I paid over $17,000...
Not worth it at all with the LACK of care and I could have just (watched) the multiple YouTube videos that they give to you to learn how to become a
(Graphic Desirer)... Threw their MyCampus... I would only see my instructor 2HRS a week..!.. An the FISRT week I was locked out of MyCampus without any help regarding the problem until a week later.
They lack problem solving, Communication between students and their instructors. After they finally reset my student email.. I was behind 3 days of playing catch up... But its not (their fault).. And your left on your own!
I completed the first course an than onto the next one with my actual instructor for the first part of my course... This first course went very smooth. And I passed it, but wasn't impressed because there was NO NEED to learn how to use a MAC book pro when most of us learning this course didn't have a MAC.. It was a waste of time..
When I finally reached the program where I had to learn to use the Adobe Photoshop programs.. THIS is where all the PROBLEMS started and the LACK OF HELP, from CDI College began!
I started it a week before Christmas holidays. With a week off for the Christmas holidays. But there is NO EXCUSES for the way they mistreated me. And left me until Jan, 27th, 2022 when I FINALLY got a CALL BACK!
So I was LOCK OUT of ALL of my Adobe Photoshop Programs a week before our Christmas holidays began. I had to VERIFY my identity.. And an CODE was (SENT) to my (STUDENT EMAIL)... witch didn't exists according to Microsoft Bing email. But I had an outlook account accepted my student email.. Making me (THINK) I was fine an could resolve this on my own...
CDI College signs you up to have one... and then they send you a temp user name an password... BUT the CODE was NEVER sent!
I tried everyday, to get it sent to me in my (Outlook account.)
It was NEVER sent! Because the student email was never properly verified, Like most emails. So I started to E-mail my Lovely instructor, she tried to help. And sent in a (tag) to the CDI College help line... Saying I needed my student e-mail reset a 3rd time. Without any luck, the problem was still there and I got lil to no help afterwards. I called multiple times to the Student help line.. With over a month of no answers an felt VERY frustrated and SAD!
I started to think that I wasn't the only one that they had done this to!
It was CLEARLY their fault 100% why I had to leave the program!
And they shouldn't be allowed to TAKE 60% of MY MONEY!...
If you are a VICTUM from CDI College due to their lack of CARE!
YOUR not alone and I'd be HAPPY to receive an Comment from you.
DON'T SIGN UP WITH CDI COLLEGE! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU!
THEY ONLY CARE ABOOUT YOUR MONEY!... And they won't take fault for their lack of help.
Desired outcome: I would like for them to OWN UP to their LACK of problem solving! And give back 100% of my MONEY!!..... This is in NO WAY, My fault on why I had to drop out of this College!..

Service level
CDI is by far the biggest and cruelest joke played on good honest people who simply want to improve their lives. To pay more than $16, 000 to TEACH MYSELF, is frustrating, embarrassing and it makes me feel duped.
I do NOT feel I will be ready for any new career based on my experience with this "school" so far. One instructor simply takes attendance and then I am left on my own to navigate through the Pearson program. Another instructor reads through slides and fails to give examples or explanations. My favourite line "I won't go through this information, you can read it in the book"
I understand that Covid presents a unique challenge in teaching but it doesn't prevent instructors from instructing. There is no excuse for the level of service provided to me thus far.
I EVEN HAVE ONE COURSE I TOOK MONTHS AGO THAT HAS YET TO BE GRADED!
I am heartbroken to have put my family into debt for a subpar "education". Every student loan payment I will make in the future will be a sharp reminder of my mistake and I will forever be ashamed for making the choice to go to CDI!
I agree with you 100 %
THANK YOU for posting this.. I recently paid $17, 000! For a course that I was left to learn on my own with the ( online training ) that had mostly " Youtube Videos " in the learning section for all of my teachings. I could have very well taught myself threw watching them without paying right, ... Also I felt as if they just took down my name for the 30 mins a day that we had to say we did ( some kind of schooling ) ...
When they stated in the contract... That it was a PT program with ( daily meetings ) up to 4 hours a day. an minimum homework... witch is a LIE! ... I rarely spoke to my instructor. an only seen her for 2HRS A WEEK!...And to top it off, she would be teaching 4 other classes along with us who just started. and her not paying attention to just one class, made me feel VERY left out...
I was unable to log into my student Campus the 1st week of my courses threw CDI College... I was super new, no one checked on me till a week later!... Threw EMAIL!... An my student Microsoft Email was reset multiple times.. But it still wasn't properly fixed, as the student email threw Microsoft said it didn't exist.. I am wondering... Are you apart of the recent Online course for " Graphic Design Technology " An if so... Can you please email me... @ jerbear557@gmail.com
I might have some helpful information on how to stand up to this college.. As they seem to NOT care about their students. and they are just a MONEY GRABBING COLLEGE! That needs to CHANGE the way they treat their students and instructor's.
Always emailing me to pay when I already dropped the course
I always receive an Email with a different person asking me to pay when I already dropped my course a long time ago. It was really hard to get a hold of them and they don't relay the message from one person to another. I already paid for the first quarter and attended for two months only now they want to get another payment from me when I cleary sent an email and called a million times to them that I already dropped my course. When I was trying to drop the course they were very hard to reach. Nobody will answer back through email and phone.
Scam
Hi there,
I have registered for a class of Immigration consultant in May 2019 at CDI college Calgary NE. The first teacher could not teach proper English articulation and could not follow the layout of the course, just speaking on her personal accomplishments at Refugee Board and he was replaced with another great teacher and she left after 1 week and a half, I wrote details to the administrator at the time and received a confirmed release from the class. Now after 2 years, the CDI group at that location claiming to pay them $6500. I want to alert everyone who knows them of this type of FRAUD. My name is Faisal my email is [protected]@gmail.com and cell phone [protected]
Desired outcome: Pursing CDI to stop frauding students or anyone else
Transcripts
I graduated in 2011 and require my transcripts to apply to a University program. Apparently no one at CDI can provide this, they keep directing me to the ministry of education (which is incorrect, they can not provide these as post-secondary institutions are required to send these to other schools) and no one will return my calls. This is ridiculous and I'm planning to escalate. How does "no one" handle transcripts at any location?
Desired outcome: I want my transcripts sent as soon as possible.
Early childhood education
Enrolled in the ece program, did everything according to the practicum outline. In one of the practicum practises was bullied by a support teacher at the daycare facility. At the end of the practicum she gave me a report that is highly negative that would fail me. I tried to consult with my instructor Angel Yang and my ece coordinator Mary Pierce that the mark given were biased and unfair, I felt that I was being bullied but I was ignored because they did not listen to my complain. Moving forward I contacted campus director Dennis Liu to see what can be done and he asked me to redo some assignments which turned out to be of no help and totally misleading as in the end was not accepted by Mary the ece coordinator. I felt I was being tossed back and forth that no one wanted to help me and often times the instructor/coordiantor/director have different say. In several person-person meeting I was not taken seriously. Specifically Mary Pierce was quite intimidating and did not give space for me to speak, all I was told was mark given was final.
The course was not cheap and I hope my words got out to them and my assignment be reviewed again fairly and unbiased. If this is what CDI has to offer, I will not recommend anyone else to spend a nickel in this institution.
Desired outcome: Listen to what student has to say and please review the assignments unbiased

I’m going to ask you to share with me the story as they are not an actual accredited school and no one can go on to university’s so even if you did (which you did) every thing right you would not be excepted anywhere in Canada as they do not give credits !
They are “trump college” and have a multiple class action cases that j actually went to the through the the way of getting into the course and I called the guy Sam out and he said get off the booze and to not contact there “school again”
Refund or partial refund
Very disappointed in this whole thing. There is always something at LEAST once a week that messes up on their end. They don't give you your grades on your assignments just on the courses as a whole. Can never get ahold of anyone. The student services personnel changes once a month. They aren't even accredited in Canada. What a friggin waste of $17, 150. Very very very disappointed. Like do I keep going and finish the course or just give up as it's not even accredited anywhere? Seems we just continue to learn the same thing over and over again. There has to be a way to get your money back and get it back to student loans…

Failure to provide a proper education
For starters the school can't even get a teacher that teaches us the proper courses we have a teacher currently teaching us communications for counseling who is a computer engineering student he knows nothing about Communication that has been giving us the incorrect answers for our exams. The staff working in the office Diane and rachana Ravel Do not do their jobs when you bring forward to the I Issues they brush it off so they're doing their job look at us a proper teacher but then we end up with teachers I don't know anything. Secondly we end up having our personal and confidential medical and criminal records check shared with the entire class as rashawna rebel has repeatedly forwarded people's confidential information to the other 18 people in the class pull in the class this is a breach of confidentiality. If something isn't done soon I will be contacting my lawyer and Legal action will be taken against CDI college.
Desired outcome: Get staff that's actually certified to work

Administration staff
Hello i would like to file a complaint, the CDI Brampton campus is very unprofessional. They cant notify students of changes to teachers, schedules or anything else, they hire people who do not teach us anything. We had a teacher who told the class she does drugs for experimentation. They do not keep personal infirmation confidential and discuss confidential information with other students and staff. I have a service dog he is registered and they know about him, however, there had to be a huge issue today because the instructor was afraid of him. Well i have a legal right to bring him and they should have notified the staff about it. I was only on campus 3 days and the worst experience was had. We have discussed the issues at hand with the dean and she is unphased. I would appreciate a call at [protected]
Desired outcome: Fix the issue or ill be in contact with a lawyer
